When I say "government healthcare" I mean the government takeover of healthcare that the looters are planning. Do you remember Rahm Emanuel's saying, "Never let a good crisis go to waste"? Well the Democrats are going to make sure that this suffering economy is put to good use ... in this case, the people are so economically insecure that they will look to the government to provide anything it can. And in this case, the government is going to deliver on healthcare. The Democrats even acknowledge that this is a big difference between healthcare reform now and healthcare reform efforts back in the 1990s. During Clinton, people were riding high. They didn't think they as much of a need for government. And this ... among MANY other reasons ... led to the demise of Hillarycare. So this time around, the Democrats are pumped. They are pumped that they economic conditions are ripe for a government takeover of healthcare.

  • 3mp3
Now there is an example of a perfect, ignorant, democrat voter.

    RESISTANCE IS FISTFUL........
  • What About Medicare?
As far as I know, nothing in these bills addresses any problems with Medicare or Medicaid so how can this be healthcare reform? I know it is the Holy Grail of the unthinking left but it needs to be pointed out.
  • don't send flowers.........
the nurse in the burn unit wants me to tell ya'll.............no mo' flowers...

and I'll be out in a cuppla days anyway....

  • a weak economy is good for government.
a weak economy is good for government. period!! when people are desperate to keep their jobs, to feed their families, to be able to afford the roof over their heads.... they don't have time nor with inclination to rock the boat their in. they're to busy getting out the ocean water that been leaking into the boat.
  • A good crisis going to waste?
...kinda like this whole terrorism thing. They are promoting a fear culture in order to justify government expansion. No 2 ways about it.
  • @ ACE
No when you go get your government healthcare they will check to see who has FOID cards, and you will have to turn in your peice to get to see the Doc.
  • @3mp3
Cheaper than "ever"? May I ask, who's your pharmacist?

ISTR gasoline at .35 / gallon. $.35 is way less than the $2.65 / gallon I paid last Friday. I also remember $1.00 / gallon (hint: a republican was President - not named Bush, but a republican nonetheless).

I remember when you had to pay extra for leaded gasoline. I also remember when times changed and you had to pay extra for them to leave the lead out.
  • O's Plan
This is O's plan, to destroy the US economy. The achievers will leave, then the sheeple who are left will be totally dependant on government.

3mp3 - What exactly is a "neo-con"? And when did healthcare become the "burden" of business, much less government? Are not individuals responsible for health care? Does government have to hold your hand when you pee?
  • Destruction of the Economy
Think about it... The administration's efforts to grow jobs, hence the rescue the nation's economy, is failing. Why? Because, one can argue, it's intended. They can profess their actions are sincere in wanting to grow the economy, yet still place blame on the former administration. Meanwhile, President Obama's administration believes by failing to grow the economy, even greater numbers must turn to the government for salvation. A created dependency assures broader support for their misguided initiatives. The dollar is collapsing, job growth is non-existent, collectively we're all in debt well beyond our eyeballs and yet, this administration is continuing to spend money like drunken sailors visiting their first pub after months at sea. It can't be said enough that the populous must get active and challenge the status quo to preserve what's left of this great country.
  • re. Worked before
Rahm Emanuel is merely following the tried and tested patterns used by Lenin and Hitler.
It was the economic conditions in Russia and Germany that led to Communism and National Socialism in those countries, respectively.
Its called trading freedom for security.
  • Gas prices cheaper than ever?
That's a joke right??? I seem to remember $1.39 not too long ago...

And you do know that the "burden of healthcare" will just be replaced with even higher tax burdens?????
  • A Good crisis is one that Lets the Statists seize more power and take away more rights.
Remember that when there is a “convenient” crisis they can use to seize the guns from the law-abiding citizens.
  • Worked before
Neocons threw a fit when the government protected our precious resources by banning offshore drilling, but look around! Gas prices under Democratic rule are cheaper than ever and the economy is benefiting a great deal from it. We could unleash the power of business even more if we hand the burden of healthcare over to the government, but once again the neocons won't have any part of it.
