"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it."

We are still experiencing some liberal derangement syndrome over the resignation of "green jobs czar" Van Jones. It wasn't hard to predict that the whole mess would end up being about race. Mary Mitchell of the Chicago-Sun Times offers this:

"Ironically, Beck isn't looking for evidence of corruption or malfeasance. He's apparently hunting for rhetoric that would scare the bejeebies out of white folks, many of whom have never had a conversation with a black person ...

"The Beck attack is the same strategy that right-wing conservative radio and TV hosts used during the Obama campaign.

"After finding video of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright using harsh language to describe race relations in this country, the hosts at Fox News had a field day.

"Jones is being sacrificed in the same way the Rev. Wright was sacrificed.

"Ironically, Beck, who had the gall to call the president of the United States a racist, is using the race card to alarm whites.

"African Americans aren't the ones who are crying because Obama has a platform to talk to all of America's children about doing well in school.

"And African Americans aren't losing sleep at night worrying that radicals have taken over the White House.

"Although the Obama administration has bent over backward trying to gain the acceptance of distrustful whites, so far it isn't happening.

"Beck and people like him can't seem to accept that John McCain lost the election and a black man and the people of his choosing are running the country.

"Given the critical battle under way over health care, Jones did the right thing.

"But let's stop pretending that the fierce opposition from the right isn't racism.

It is."

Just hold on folks .. you're going to see more and more of this. As Obama's popularity dips .. .and more and more people begin to doubt the wisdom of his plans for massive government expansion and retribution toward the private sector, the Obama defenders are going to run to the refuge of race. After all, they have years of practice here. Whenever someone who happens to be black encounters opposition to a policy idea ... those who disagree are charged with racism. It's childish, moronic and inevitable. Get used to it. It will become standard fare with Obama.

What others are saying

  • Republitards calling others "childish"?!
It's hilarious, but not surprising, that a GOP mouthpiece like Neil Boring would call the Democrats childish. When his GOP heroes, like Sen. Joe Wilson, act like 4 yr. olds having a tantrum. And their followers at their tea bagging parties act even more immature.

Probably because they're all a bunch of cowards who are afraid to voice what they really want to say, which is that they can't stand the fact that a negro is in the White House. Admittedly, it is fun to watch them squirm and publicly implode. They have been beaten and they know it.....and they just can't stand it.
  • @DaleC ANY actions or judgments based on race are RACIST.
@DaleC no, they could just be bigoted.

It's the same thing, and it's wrong no matter who does it, and whatever you call it
  • Excellent jimg
    whatever
Yawn. So I'm a 'racist'. I've been called worse by much better people than Ms. Mitchell.
    By jimg
  • Ban Van
With the schooling this guy got, he's still hell( ch-ching...shameless plug) bent for leather on keeping race relations where they were in the not so good ol' days. Wow. So much for a 'post racial America'. I mean, clearly, if a caucasian disagrees with a Brother, it's all racial. No way the tide could have turned the other way, the shoe could be on the other foot, right? Reverend Wright I can almost understand, he grew up in an era where Blacks were treated like second class citizens. That feeling doesn't just go away. But so many members of his community have made themselves successful in the face of all that, at some point, it's time to let it go. What is Van Jones' excuse? Beats the hell( cha-ching...self promoting hack) out of me. I'm one baffeled Beelzebub..
  • Too bad . . .
Why do all the pretty ones have to be so kooky? Give me this guy's looks and Thomas Sowell's brains and I'd be in some SERIOUS trouble.
  • All about race
Why is it that a non-black can never disagree with a black without it becoming a race issue? Are they that insecure with debate?
  • Van Jones
Van Jones SAYS he did not read a petition that supported the notion the Bush Administration knew and permitted 9/11 to happen. That's not a black thing or a white thing, that's an idiotic thing.

Jones also called Republicans ON FILM, "Ass@#les!" That's not a black or white thing, that's idiotic!

Glenn Beck happened to call these items to our attention. He also wondered how some one with Van Jones' track record could be hired to work in the West Wing. Again, that's not a black or white thing, that's simply questioning who was the IDIOT who hired this guy?

So now, Beck, because he reported on this nut-bag, is now a racist? Right!

Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun Times has just demonstrated ONCE AGAIN that idiots come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
  • whatever
Yawn. So I'm a 'racist'. I've been called worse by much better people than Ms. Mitchell.
  • That’s why being smeared as a racist has never bothered me.
"You a racism!" is what I hear, however they say it.

“After finding video of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright using harsh language to describe race relations in this country,…” is very artful. A video, as in just one? That’s also an interestingly understated way to describe someone who yells “GD America!” from the pulpit.

If the left wants to delude themselves that the opposition’s problem with hussein is his race, that’s fine with me. They are only fooling themselves, and doing nothing to counter what has become apparent, that hussein is none of the things he claimed, and more of the commie some warned he was every day.

I guess it would be unreasonable, too much to ask, not to mention racist, to insist hussein not appoint commies to positions of power. They know better, or they wouldn’t deny, and try to hide it. Many on the dp/left/msm still deny Hiss was a commie.
  • Mary, Mary, to the Contrary..
    It's not about Racism.

    It's about Communism.

    It's not about being Black.

    It's about being Red - or Pink(o).
  • WND began Van Jones Investigation
Neal, I know you won't admit it, it's evident in all your reporting on the Van Jones story, World Net Daily was the first to report and has done the most indepth investigating on Van Jones. Aaron Klein was the first to break it, Hannity had him on the radio yesterday. Yeah, bigger names like Hannity and Beck made the story travel farther and faster, but they relied on WND breaking it. Time to admit your public schooling is getting in the way again. WND is a serious news organization and not just "home to the birthers" as you proclaim. In the essence of full disclosure, you would label me as a "birther."
  • Orwell was right
The screams from the libs and their rants about racism and fascism means that they have nothing left in their intellectual arsenal. Orwell said it best "The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies 'something not desirable'."
  • Racism rears its ugly head in many places
When a writer begins a message with "many of whom have never had a conversation with a black person ...". you have to wonder what world she is living in, and if she is writing from her own "biased" viewpoint. You know, just maybe when conservatives have a problem with Van Jones it has more to do with his anarchistic, socialist, later communist leanings and his desire to use "green jobs" to change the political direction of the country and less about using green jobs to improve America. When someone praises Al-Q for 9/11, when someone condems Clinton's bombing of this same group, when someone participates in looting during Rodney King riots - isn't that against the law? - when someone accuses "whitey" of polluting (poisoning) people of color, supports a cop-killer and is a race-baiting truther, who's to say who the racist is in this case. The fact that this man is black is not the problem. His affiliation w/STORM, Ella Baker Foundation, ACORN, Move on.org is.

Mrs. Neal - please don't get offended when someone jokes about hanging out with the Klan. They are only alluding to the obvious label imposed on anyone who criticizes a person of color. Jeremiah Wright is a flaming racist; it's a fact. As a white woman pointing out the obvious, it doesn't make me a racist - it just makes me right. BTW - I don't know any kluckers, would have a hard time finding one to "hang around" and resent the implication that speaking out about a person of color = racism = KKK. People joke about hangin w/the KKK because it is a joke. It would be easier for me to find a black antisemitic bigot than a kluxer and I live in the south.

Far more serious is a black reporter insinuating that these white folks who are having the supposed bejeebies (whatever that is) scared out of them have never "had a conversation with a black person". Now that's just plain RACIST. Shame on you, Mary Mitchell, for not doing your job.
  • Observations
@ Joyce's #1 Fan - you are a weak shadow of Stan's #1 Fan. You are also a pitiful copy cat. Try to be original.

@ Sid - no, they could just be bigoted.

General - I grew up in Bombingham and can't say that I have had a conversation with a Klansman since I was about 8 years old and my Dad fired the Grand Wizard who worked for him. I have had innumerable conversations with black friends, colleagues, mentors and employees. BTW, I am as white and Southern as you can get. Once again the Lefties show that they are the truly intolerant bigots, not the Right.
  • All about race
Neal says, "It wasn't hard to predict that the whole mess would end up being about race."

    He's right.

By and large, Obama was elected, by racists, solely because of his race.
  • I gots 'xtras................................
RANDY.......you blabber mout'.......oh well the boys will be happy fo' da' free publicity........

I got 'xtra sheets I'll bring 'em fo' the new members........

oh! oh! almost forgot JONEY BOY BE A RACER..... no... no.... wait RACIST.....think we can get him to get the boys worked up wit' some hatin' spirit?????

    Joyce M/B......welcome to the "I have a fan" klub....xoxoxo
  • The moral of the story
The moral of the story is that you must be a communist to be part of the Obama administration, just don't admit that you are one. Most people couldn't spot a communist is unless the communist walks over to them and says "hello, I am a communist".

    Thank you public education system.
  • Mary Mitchell
Moron Mary Mitchell cannot even explain what a racist is. It is someone who believes that every member of a specific race is inferior. When imbeciles like Moron Mary lack debating
facts and skills, they resort to Hitlerite name calling.
  • Obama has more communists...
...working for him than Truman did.

    Just a guess.
  • This is so true..
I've recently had a Facebook discussion with someone who accuses anyone who disagrees with Obama of being a racist. Likewise, she said that racism caused "all" the schools in Texas not to show the Obama schoolchildren speech. Well, I live in Texas and that's not true, there were plenty of schools that showed it. If they didn't, so what, it's their choice. I think that this woman, like so many others, can't argue the health care debate on facts & logic, so she turns to racism as her only recourse. And she just cannot believe that anyone would oppose Obamacare on principle, logic, or fiscal concerns, so race must be the reason, right?
  • Why Racism Will Never Die
Racism will never die in this country as long as you have people like Jones crying racism when they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar. These people who cry racism at every turn are like the women who cry rape because they were angry with their boyfriends. After a while it starts to lose it's meaning and it's impact. The boy who cried wolf syndrome. I've been called a racist just because I don't agree with healthcare reform even though race never came up in the conversation. These people are so programmed with this response that if you said that you don't smoke you'll be branded a racist because it's something opposite of what Obama does. It's crazy. As for Jones, there's no misinterpreting who he is. Beck laid it all out in print and video Jones' own words. Nothing here to get all mixed up about. Jones' is not a closet racist but a blatant racist. Same with Wright. These are people who believe that only white people are racist and if blacks act racist, it's because they're owed that privilege. As long as the Sharptons, Wrights, Flager(or however you spell his name), Jones', and Jacksons of the world are around, racism will never cease to be. Oh, and the last time I looked, the Democrats have the only Klan member in a position of power last I looked.
  • I Wish I Was Black
Unbelievable! I never once thought about the fact that Van Jones was black. Just that he was a communist and booger eater. If I was black, it would be great! I could blame everything on race. If I didn't make a sale. If I got a ticket. If I lost a job. Oh Well, when will it end?
  • Race eh?
What excuse are they going to use when John Holdren is in the crosshairs?
  • WTG Klubber
That Joyce #1 Fan gig is funny!!!!
  • Stop with that klan crap
Mention of the klan when referring to conservatives is getting OLD OLD OLD.
If you really want to start throwing that stone, remember the only senator in office who was in the klan (and in fact a leader and recruiter) was a democrat.

So maybe you liberals can actually discuss this without bringing up that stupid argument. It's just as inane as shouting "Nazi" at every republican president.

Any really, have any of you liberal folks ever actually had a converstion with a klan member?
  • Jones had NO record of creating jobs that were NOT directly tied to the. (community organizer model of), securing those employment funds from government grants, charitable entities, or left leaning organizations. And that's a "green job"? See Bastiat's quote above.
  • Sick and tired
I am sick and tired of racism of both sides. All white people are not racist; however, there are some out there as well as some black racist. The problem is that some people with racist views are mixing themselves in with those who just don't agree with this administration. So, as a result, they all are being called racist. Welcome to the world of many blacks :-). Many of us hard working educated blacks are still judged based on the actions of others. Sorry, that is the world we live in. If it is not true, ignore it and keep moving. That's all you can do. People who opposed Bush were called Anti-American and now people who oppose Obama are called racist. I have an idea. How about adults start acting like adults and stop the name calling. What message are we sending our kids?
  • I, Racist
Wow, is this Jones jerk the poster boy for race carding or what?

Uh-oh, did I just call him 'boy'? Oh well...the cat's out of the bag.

(psst- hey....Klan meeting tonight, Cumming Fairgrounds. If you don't have a sheet, they can be rented for $4...cross burns at 9)
  • Racism is Alive
Despite what you or any of your listeners believe, racism is still alive. Just because you may not have racist motives does not mean others do not. Racism today is not like it was 50 years ago. It is more subtle, but it is there. There are black racist as well as white, and the sad thing is that it is getting more prevalent with all of the immature name calling and craziness surrounding this administration. I just pray that people are being mindful of the things they say at home around young kids because they will be the ones to carry on what they see at home. That will truly determine the fate of our country. Had the Republicans put up a better candidate, they would not have to be in such an uproar now. For people to say they are going to hang out with their klan friends is not cute. It only suggests that they think the klan is okay. I could be wrong, but wasn't the klan racist? This is really sad!
  • Hidden Acknowledgement
Did anyone else notice that buried in Mary Mitchell's race rant is her acknowledgement that radicals have, indeed, taken over the White House? She didn't say African Americans weren't losing sleep at night worrying "if" radicals have taken over the White House, but rather "that" they have done so.
  • Beck is right, the sitting president of the US is a racist
  • Obama was supposed to transcend racism
Obama was supposed to transcend racism if he were elected. At least that is what was advertised. Limbaugh and Boortz had it right on this one. If Obama's policies were ever to be criticized, it would be because of race.

The same thing has happened here. What is it about the racemongers that want to stay in the wallow of the plight of their race? They're Americans. They can do what they want, (almost before our freedom gets taken completely away).

But then again, it was Booker T. Washington that said that there would always be some people who would make their livelyhood on the plight of their race.
  • You can only take so much
I never considered myself a bigot growing up. My closest friend in school was black, he spent time at my house, I spent time at his. My high school was one of the only racially balanced schools in the city, nearly a 50/50 split white/black. And because it actually was balanced, my school received less "funding" from state and federal programs.

But things changed. During one incident a young black girl accused me of having taken the her padlock. The black Vice Principal called me a thief, until I proved with the lock wasn't hers. I hadn't bought mine at the school store, I had bought it elsewhere and had the records to prove it and it was a model not sold in the school. No apologies from that situation.

Then when graduation rolled around, I was #2 in my class of about 200. Could have been #1, didn't feel like doing all the math homework. The #1 student was a white girl. When graduation came around, the #1 student was Valedictorian, but they had to go to the #10 student to find the Salutatorian, so they could have a black student standing at the podium.

And no I don't call that "reverse discrimination" it was discrimination, plain and simple. Calling discrimination against a white person "reverse discrimination" makes it appears as only black people can suffer discrimination. BS.

Since then, I have lived through over 20 years of being told that as a white middle-class male in this country I am the spawn of Evil. For everyone else to be a victim, there has to be a victimizer, and according to this country of bed-wetting losers, that's me. And though I have never engaged in any of these types of activities, I'm still branded and labeled.

I listen to losers whine how because the United States had slavery for a grand total of 73 years (signing of the Constitution in 1787 to Civil War in 1865) and some great great grandfather was a slave (by the way, I'm of Jewish descent so my ancestors were slaves too, as was some ancestor of almost every person alive at some point) that some how it's ok for them to demand things from me.

Well, as any psychologist will tell you, if a person (or group of people) are treated badly enough, long enough, where they are constantly told they are something horrible, eventually they'll start acting like it (like how the so-called "black leaders" have kept the community down), or they'll say "Fine, if I'm going to be accused of doing something, and blamed for it, then screw it, might as well do it".

So keep being race-baiters and losers, keep being poverty pimps. You've over played your hand and many of us have about had it.
  • Conversations with Black People
Hmmm... I've had multiple conversations with black people during my life, as my supervisor, as my employees, as my peers, even trusted my life to them in the Marines and this guy's politics still scares the "bejeebies" out of me.
  • Van Jones
As usual, if you disagree with something stupid that this administration does...your'e racist...if it were Bush doing something this stupid, and you complain ... your'e brillant. Why cannot people just look at the facts of this case, instead of letting your politicial opinion determine your position? Because to paraphrase Robert Heinlein "85 percent of everything is ***t".
  • How much more?
Do the Dems really think that they will get somewhere by continuing insulting people? I'm sick of being called a racist, terrorist, brown-shirt, one of "those people," and too dang stupid for my own good.

Why bring race into it? I mean, a reason other than it is just too dang easy.

I, personally, am eagerly counting down the days to the next election(418).
  • Mary Mitchell needs to learn the meaning of the word 'ironic'
Journalists who don't know how to use the English language...no surprise there.
  • Can't wait
One of America's best day will be sending Team Obama out of office after just one term.

Cries of "RACISM" will be heard from all corners of America. Obama will play into it and come off as a humbly defeated.

However, please remember what these people (African Americans in power), are after. They want every single dollar you have. The same way they rob and beat students at Georgia Tech, they want to do to you - under the cloak of the legality of taxes.

They will not stop till they don't have to work and can sit in their homes having children out of wedlock and having you pay for it.
  • All the more reason for Conservative to keep race and any references to race way the H*ll out of the argument.
Let the Socialists interject race into this and make fools of themselves.

Remember: ANY actions or judgments based on race are RACIST.
  • Green jobs?
Liberals are so nuts. I will take Arab oil over much more convenient and safer American "green" options any day. From Reagan to the recent Bush republican presidents have been doing nothing but supporting arab nations. And the liberals just want to throw that away. I will take an arab over a liberal any day. So what if liberals are Americans just like me and want the best for America just like me. They want safe, environmental cars. Go listen to your Beatles and John Mellencamp records, I am going to the gas station and hanging out w/ my klan friends
  • Race Relations As It Is
For all the hoopla about Obama being the "First Black President" and the media that more or less forced it to happen, I am afraid that Obama being President will set race-relations in this country back at LEAST 50 years.

Could it be that I, in my "Ivory Tower" of "whiteness" just never knew how much of a chip on their shoulders many black people have? I was under the impression that we were all PEOPLE now, not "white people" or "black people"!??

It just makes me feel lousy Neal. I've heard more in the last 6 months about what a "racist bigot" all white people are than I ever did before. It's just not true, and it only drives people apart. I had no idea how many people hate me, simply because of my complexion.
  • Racism
I suspect that many people are going to get real tired of being called racist. I for one am counting the days until the next presidential election. Please oh Please Repubs, put someone up that has vision and charisma. No more almost dead guys with ZERO personality (Bob Dole, John McCain)
