So there I was watching Wolf Blitzer on CNN yesterday afternoon. Before a break we get the tremendously exciting news that "Michael Moore is in the situation room." The Blitzer explains to the viewers that "(Moore) is going to explain why he thinks that US capitalism is nothing but a Ponzi scheme."
How wonderful. CNN and Wolf Blitzer have time to devote to fat slob Michael Moore so he can explain his anti-capitalist views. But, has CNN ever had the time to devote to a spokesman from Americans for Fair Taxation? How about "Congressman John Linder is in the situation room. He is going to explain how we can get rid of the income tax and workers can keep 100% of what they earn."

so glad mr moore is a "christian" and "loves this country" and has "compassion" on his fellow man. I do too, but I'm not going to reach into Mr Moore's pocket and forcefully remove some of his hard-earned money and give it to someone else who DIDN'T take his own high school education and work hard and make a lot of money.

There unfortunately is a profound disconnect between the classic American free enterprise system that the country was built upon, and the perverted state-sponsored crony capitalist system in place today, where Wall Street brings the world economy to its knees and is then made whole on the backs of the US taxpayer thanks to a supposedly representative government that they obviously own lock stock & barrel. Moore makes some good points with the exception of the very end, where he stands in utter denial to the obvious, that Obama has only continued where Bush left off. Under Bush these thieves were too big to fail, under Obama they have been made even bigger. But most are obviously unable to get past the messenger to hear the message. With Neal, cognitive dissonance masquerades as "logic" and this is apparantly also the case with many of his minions.

He says he wants democracy in the economy. That's only possible when the government gets out of it and allows people to vote with thier dollars.
If you let bad businesses fail and let good businesses prosper then the free market is the truest democracy to ever exist.

Ok, I admit, I only made it through about half that, the level of ignorance shown by both made it impossible to tolerate.
Couple of things do stick out.
1.) If MM wasn't a RAVING HYPOCRIT, he would do this project out of his own money, and provide it for FREE to any movie theater to show.
2.) Will someone please explain to the idiots that we are not, nor will ever be a Democracy? Could someone show them the results of Democracy?

If the federal government did not have the so much power, then high powered corporations could not have bought off so many congressmen. Now the man is a fool becuase he is arguing against himself. Michael Moore's rhetoric is a little over the top, but he adds an important voice to the national dialog, and his films are unique in their ability to combine humor with pointed social commentary. He does give a voice to those who don't have much of a voice.

I just wonder why this Ponzi scheme has not collapsed in the way that others have, such as the namesaked one, Mr. Madoff's, and Social Security (which, if kept to its original promise, may have been sound, but it does require people to die as close to 65 as possible to remain viable).
Capitalism has existed for 6000 years (at least) and remains viable. Yes, there are winners and losers, but even the losers are better off than the losers of other economic systems. If one slices and dices each economic system, one can determine that it is a horrible idea, but as a whole, capitalism rules.
