I THOUGHT THE WAR ON TERROR WAS OVER?

National security has resurfaced in the news lately for a lot of reasons.

Number one: Congress is on vacation.

Number two: Eric Holder decided that it would be a wise idea to investigate CIA interrogators for their role in terrorist interrogations.

Number three: the moonbats need something to sink their teeth into.

Number four: it has been a violent couple of months for the troops in Afghanistan. Number five: we are approaching the anniversary of September 11th.

Now if you will recall, the Obama administration declared that we are no longer fighting a war on terror. That phrase was removed from the White House lexicon along with "jihad" and others that may insinuate the hateful ideology of Islam. In fact, there is no more Islamic terrorism. The phrase now is "man-caused disasters." And the war against these Islamic goons is now our "overseas contingency operation."

Well somebody needs to inform White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. He must have been sick the day that this memo was released, because yesterday Robert Gibbs actually used the phrase "war on terror" during his daily press conference. Hard to fight a war when you can't call it like it is, isn't it?

Now Robert Gibbs also had a few things to say to Dick Cheney. Cheney has been very vocal about the administration's decision to investigate terrorist interrogators. Cheney said that this is a purely political act, "It's an outrageous political act that will do great damage, long-term, to our capacity to be able to have people take on difficult jobs, make difficult decisions, without having to worry about what the next administration is going to say." Robert Gibbs chalked up Cheney's criticism to nothing short of "typical" and "unfounded." He says, "I'm not entirely sure that Dick Cheney's predictions on foreign policy have borne a whole lot of fruit over the last eight years in a way that has been either positive or, to the best of my recollection, very correct."

Seems like these guys need to get out of a spitting match and start focusing on the real enemy.

What others are saying

  • planes
what if they come here get there own planes (privete) and attack with them how do we stop this without total gov control
  • planes
im watching a show on terror and comercial planes what about privet planes they where trained to fly at lvll airport what will stop theme froom buying there own planes under raidar no flyt plane could this happen
  • RE:Blowback
Hey T-shirt Doc, another definition for the term blowback: the force imparted by the previous round on the bolt creating the rearward motion necessary to eject said round, energizing the spring for the chambering of the next round. This is the "blowback" I'm prepared to use over and over again if terrorists hit my soil....
  • Man-made disaster
When the next terror attack hits (with borders this porous it is definitely a when), I can't wait for the first government hack to open his mouth and proclaim it a "man-made disaster". He is likely to eat flying shoes!
  • Sure what Cheney is doing is "typical," gibbs, so is what hussein and the dp are doing.
Republicans defend Americans, the dp attacks Americans, especially those Americans who do the defending.

They pounce on any American combatant they can at the first, and often false (as places like Haditha have shown) excuse they can. Terrorists get every benefit of the doubt, but not our own fighting men and women. The best they can come up with then is, "It's that Republican Commander in Chief's fault you're a violent murderous war criminal." With 'friends' like that...

We're putting heavy forces in a special forces theater, casualties will remain relatively high as long as taliban/aq have sanctuary and a target rich environment of heavy vehicles supplying heavy forces spread out on a very limited road network in very rough terrain.
  • Blame Bush, Blame Cheney, Blame Obummer, Blame Holder
Look I am seeing the leftists and the rightists blaming each other regarding the War against the Islamofascists.

What I am not seeing in these comments is the fact that due to political correctness, we are not able to "know our enemy", i.e. recognize his capabilities, weaknesses, etc. This goes back to Sun Tzu, "... If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will be defeated in a thousand battles."

The enemy knows us as they are manipulating, the media, education and legal institutions for their own benefit.

Unless America wakes the heck up, the War on Islamofascism will be lost.
  • at the prayer meetin'..................................
osamabama meets with his stinkin' mule-a 5 times a day and it's a'gin their religion to kill other muslims, so the war iz iver...........whaaaaaaa??????

hell kill 'em all.... let alla figger it out.......
  • focusing on the real enemy
i've been focusing on the real enemy. the real enemy has been our foreign policy. all this nation building. the great american empire has a bipartisan support. that's the real enemy.

Randy, do you know why the attacked on 9-11? its because we had troops in sausi arabia. that why most of the hijackers were saudi arabian.

that's blowback for you. in the coming years, we will get the blowback from the bush's nation building in iraq, afghanistan, and pakistan.

and we will get some blowback from obama's term as president. because he hasn't change our foreign policy one bit.

Blowback is the espionage term for the violent, unintended consequences of a covert operation that are suffered by the civil population of the aggressor government. To the civilians suffering it, the blowback typically manifests itself as “random” acts of political violence without a discernible, direct cause; because the public—in whose name the intelligence agency acted—are ignorant of the effected secret attacks that provoked revenge (counter-attack) against them.
  • Obama is creating Vietnam Part II
Afganistan is a disaster in the making. We need to get out before Obozo destroys our armed forces like democrats Kennedy and Johnson did.

The liberal lamestream media can't hide the truth about what's happening over there because the body bag count is growing daily. Iraq was a picnic compared to this place.
  • Reform
    Let me understand:

    (1) If someone were to say to you on 9/12/01, that we wouldn't be attacked for the next 8 years, people would have thought you were crazy. So, here we are, we haven't been attacked since 9/11, and the libs declare what a failure the war on terror has been and that we need to reform the ENTIRE system!!

    (2) Health care - Even using the phony 45M uninsured number means that about 260M, or 85% of the country, has insurance. Of that 260M, the vast majority are HAPPY with their insurance. Yet, the libs demand it's a complete failure and want reform and overhaul of the entire system!
  • Borders
No one will convince me they are serious about security until our borders are secure.
  • War on Terror
Randy said "Obama will probably run out onto the White House lawn yelling, "Here are the keys! Take them! Don't hurt me!""
It's OK Randy. There are 30 million deer hunters in the U.S. and we can ALL kill at 300-500 yards! We won't be shooting AK-47s which fire the relatively short ranged 7.62x39mm. We'll be shooting things like 7mm Mag, .30-06, .308, .300 Mag, .270, .50BMG, and even the ancient .45-70(lethal well beyond 1000yards, if you aim high enough!). We know all the good hiding places, we already own all the hilltops, and once again it will be the PEOPLE who keep the country free. I just can't figure out why we are waiting so long to get serious about the assault our politicians are making on our liberties.
  • Who caught Bin Laden and the Anthrax killers?
    Randy,
Who was Pres. and VP on Sept 11,2001?
When did the Bush Admin catch Osama Bin Laden and the anthrax killers, I must have missed it?
I quess you also think that Bush kept the Viet-Cong Air Force from flying over the Tex-Mex border and bombing the US when he was in the TNG, right?
  • Dick Cheney?
I love how people think Cheney is a tough guy. For 8 years he hid under his desk so that his stock would increase value, and then once he is done he starts making political rabble on tv. What a moron politician
  • War On Terror
Despite all their imperfections (and the fact that GW Bush was basically a spendthrift liberal), god bless him and Cheney for the fact that they took seriously their duty of protecting this country. I cringe to imagine what will happen when the US is attacked. Obama will probably run out onto the White House lawn yelling, "Here are the keys! Take them! Don't hurt me!"
