"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it."

Cast ye the first stone. I've explained that I'm aware why Clinton was impeached. Do you forgive Bill Clinton for lying and cheating on his wife?
Be sure to tell your current or future wife that she can't judge you harshly if you decide to cheat on her because she may have committed some other sin and therefore has no right to judge, she'll just come across bitter.
I'm bitter at the hypocrites like yourself who put party over politics before right over wrong. People like you cling to the liars of your party and make excuses for them while telling the other party what trash their leaders are. You live by a double-standard.
Maybe we should forgive everyone and tear our prisons down.
Dave R., do you not see something wrong with the fact that Newt was cheating on his wife while calling for the impeachment of a president who had did the same?
Oh ok... I'm sorry. Let me jump on your bandwagon and blast Newt for having a divorce from his FIRST wife, before marrying the second which he later had an affair on with his current wife.
Does this make you feel any better?
I just wish you understood that I'm not excusing what Newt did, I'm saying it was 10 years ago and the man doesn't deserve to have it dragged up every time his name is mentioned. It just leaves you looking like a very bitter who can't move on.
BTW, seriously... you need to re-read the history on why Clinton was impeached. Your ignorance is showing like an unzipped fly ;)
Finding love on Boortz.com :)
Dave R, are you single and over 50 by any chance? :) :) Love your posts!
I was sour on Newt for a while but am sorta warming up to him again. Who are we to judge him if he has repented of his sin and asked forgiveness of all involved?
Judge him on what he has become through his mistakes and not what he was. If he turns out to be a liar still then move on.
never forgive nor forget
I will never forgive N. Gingrich for promoting the global warming lie while sitting next to Nancy Pelosi in that t.v. commercial.
How can anyone trust him EVER again?
If you take his words at face value, you are a fool.
Pat
Listen, I know Clinton was impeached because he lied under oath about having sex with Monica. The Republicans called for the investigation into his activities with her.
The Democrats did the same thing with Scooter Libby. It's called the "gotcha game". Let's call for an investigation and see if we can't get you on something other than the original charge we are investigating. They know that the original issue won't matter if we can catch them in a lie about something in the course of the investigation.
It's dirty politics and both parties play it well.
I'm not excusing what Clinton did. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of both parties. It just kills me how those that support their party will try to hash out any technicality to support their guy while condemning the other side for doing the same thing and the politicians just love it. They play us like a fiddle.
Voters have to stop putting their party above what is right and call a spade a spade. I do and I get get condemned by both sides for doing it.
Patriot till death.......
Do you have the faintest idea why Clinton was Impeached?
I will give you a hint, there is NO way to Impeach anyone for screwing around on his wife.
Now, if you can show any of us where Newt perjured himself before a legal proceeding, you have cause.
Let's Talk About God...
Based on the Salt'n'Peppa song:
Let's talk about God, baby Let's talk about you and me, let's talk about all the good things and the bad things that can be
Let's talk about God!
Joyce
"Bill could have left Hillary before letting Monica have sex with him, although, he did not have sex with her ."
That was sarcasm. I'm glad you noticed.
I'm sorry, but Newt is dirty laundry and has to go from the public eye as spokesman of Republican family values. It's laughable. His credibility is shot (no pun intended).
Besides, I feel the Republicans use the family values to get votes while they do otherwise and sleep with the 6 and 7 company monopolies in the major industries for campaign contributions.
The Republican politicians talk the talk but they don't walk the walk, otherwise, they would have passed the Fair Tax eight years ago, they didn't, they chose to take care of their corporate sponsors instead.
Also, what happen to Newt's Contract with America? They didn't pass term-limits as they said they would. They didn't do away with the DOE like they said they would? We voted to give them the power and they grew government while giving a tax cut to the rich. Awful.
holy crap...........................
I'm neal boortz??????? butt butt I got more hair than he has.......
who split my personality?????.....RAAAAANNNNNNNDDDDYYYYYYYY.......damn it.....
I ain't boortz jist ax............
LOL @ Patriot
"Joyce, love you, but Newt could have left his first wife BEFORE jumping in bed with someone else.
Bill could have left Hillary before letting Monica have sex with him, although, he did not have sex with her ."
Now THAT was funny!
Love you too, but it just always amazes me how this always comes up when ever Newt's name is mentioned. Hey, pssst, maybe it was the bed part that made Newt unhappy...
Okay smack me, that was tacky!!! i'llpayforthatone
Sorry. I'm just being facetious.
The man does know how to put together a bill! I seriously doubt he will ever (successfully) run for office again, but we could sure use his input.
Are you serious?
Dave R., do you not see something wrong with the fact that Newt was cheating on his wife while calling for the impeachment of a president who had did the same?
You can say what you want about Bill lying under oath, like Scooter Libby, but my question would be why did the Republicans demand an investigation over the matter when it involved two consenting adults who should never, ever be judged by people that have committed the sin of looking at women with lust in their eyes? (your ridiculous analogy, not mine)
Let's get one last thing straight, I'm not excusing Bill Clinton for what he did but I'm not a hypocrite that is going to give Newt a pass. The problem with many, not all, but way too many Republican voters, is they are willing to forgive their hypocrites but not any other political party. They make excuses for them. They try to find so little technicality that excuses their guy's behavior over something similar some other guy, from another party that they HATE, behavior. It's so futile and they come across as foolish. Too many Democrats do the same.
At least I'm consistent. I voted mostly Republican the last two elections but if the Republican voters don't clean their dirty laundry and hold their own accountable, then don't count on my vote. I'm an Independent, so those that think I'm a Democrat because I call out Republican hypocrisy need to get over your party-over-country mentality.
comment below
enough already neal!!!
retire the "butt neckid" pen name
we all know it's you
Well, well
Looks like the minions of Democratic Underground and moveon.org are offering their opinions today.
This so ridiculous debating circular logic. - Patriot til' Death
Yup, if you want to make it a circular one, you can.
Here's the thing though, you pointed out Newt's failures to make him look bad, to belittle him. How would you like to have ever one of your embarrassing mistakes continuously brought up every time your name was mentioned? Wouldn't you like to be treated better than you are treating Newt?
Just as a reminder, Bill was impeached because he lied underoath. He had to go through the grand jury because having sex (even if it is just nine BJs) with someone who reports to you is a serious ethical (business ethics) issue. It had nothing to do with him being an adulterer.
Now, you want to give Bill a pass on adultery but not Newt. It's been well over 10 years now. Both have had their sins exposed. Let it go. It's time to "move on". Stop casting stones on either person for adultery.
Whhaaaatttt.....
Who am I to judge an adulterous hypocrite? I wasn't judging him, I was pointing out Newt's hypocrisy and making the comment that he has nothing to say that would have any credibility to me. If that is judging, then who are YOU to judge me one whether I judge anyone? This so ridiculous debating circular logic.
Get over your holier than thou self already Rev. Dave. I'll say what the hell I want about hypocrites that don't know when to shut-up and God can be the final judge on me for it.
Joyce, love you, but Newt could have left his first wife BEFORE jumping in bed with someone else.
Bill could have left Hillary before letting Monica have sex with him, although, he did not have sex with her .
I think the Republicans and adulterous Newt cast many stones when that happened. Did Dave R. complain and tell Newt not to judge Bill when that happen?
Tolerance
If you ask for Tolerance from forced religion, should you not Tolerate the free expression of those who wish to practice their religion?
Geeze, what a CONCEPT, wasn't there a COUNTRY founded upon that notion somewhere?
"I mean if neo-conservatives shouldn't be judged for the their adulterous affairs because no one is good enough to judge them, why do we penalize drug-users, prostitutes and gays?" - Patriot til' Death
I didn't say they shouldn't be judged did I? I said who are YOU to do so? He'll be judged one day for his actions just like the rest of us.
"That's like telling us not to be intolerant of those that are intolerant. It makes no sense."
Except... you want the world to be tolerant right? So what sense is it for you not to be tolerant of those who are intolerant?
com'on dumbasses...........so he cheated on his wife.......told a lil' lie now and then....sooooooo........
you stinkin' dumbasses........HE'S A POLITICIAN!!!!!!
in my book gangreenwitch ain't worth the words I typed here......
Patriot Till Death
Gotta love people like you! If Newt had stayed with his first wife, someone would then be laughing "see, the right would rather be miserable than to break their sacred law on divorce".
So durned if you do, durned if you don't.
Either way, that is a non-issue.
@DaveR
Dave...Dave...Dave...do you really want to get holier than thou?
You should preach your sermon to all the neo-conservatives that want to pass judgement on gays, drug-users and prostitutes. I mean if neo-conservatives shouldn't be judged for the their adulterous affairs because no one is good enough to judge them, why do we penalize drug-users, prostitutes and gays?
I'm mean basically, your're telling us not to judge a hypocrite because it would hypocritical to do so.
That's like telling us not to be intolerant of those that are intolerant. It makes no sense.
Thanks for the lame Bible lesson anyways. I forgive you. Now go be silly no more.
Secular does not equate to anti-religion
Supporting the idea that the government remains secular does not mean abolishing religion.
I will wait to caste judgment on Newt's film until after I see it; however, other films in this vein, typically glance over or distort the founders beliefs. The beliefs of Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Paine for example are rarely truthfully depicted.
Newt Gingrich?
Just when I think Neal can't sink any lower as a poster boy for the Republitard party, he does something like this. Does he still call himself a libertarian, with a straight face?
Someone at WSB needs to put the listeners out of thier misery and "retire" this idiot immediately. He can't even speak anymore without constantly stumbling over his words anyway. Having Newt Gingrich on to promote his "movie/GOP commercial" and talk about God is like having Hitler on to talk about Jewish history.
"will he be talking about his adulterous affair? Nothing like a good sermon from an adulterer to start your weekend." - Patriot til' Death
I remember that once someone was asked what should happen to a woman caught in adultery. The man she was with wasn't even an issue for some stupid reason. Anyway, this person's response to the question was "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Everyone who wanted to kill the woman then left. The man knelled down and helped her up and told her she was forgiven.
This same man said that if you so much as look lustfully at a member of the opposite sex, you have committed adultery with that person in your heart.
Newt isn't perfect. I think he knows this now. I know I'm not. I've done a lot of bad things in my life. The thing about God is that he wants to restore you, not tear you down. That's what Satan wants to do and well... we all do that enough on our own as is without his help.
So, unless you want to claim that you have never done a single thing wrong in your life or even so much as looked lustfully at a naked woman (or man) that you are not married to, I think you need to be slow to condemn Newt.
In fact, any of you who want to point out the hypocrisy of Christians should perhaps also examine your lives for hypocrisy. If you are totally free from it yourselves, let's talk about the hypocrisy of Christians. Until then, you need to realize that they too are screwed up, but are trying to become better people through a relationship with Jesus.
"By the way, what kind of a ruthless, horrible god orders you to worship him under penalty of eternal damnation if you don't. Is this a guy worthy of your devotion?" -- Secular Conservative
What kind of person takes an innocent man and puts him to death because they don't like what he has to say?
Let's reframe the question: If you knew your neighbor didn't like you, in fact he spits in your face, craps in your lawn and couldn't even stand to look at you, would you let him come into your house to live forever?
What kind of God would force you to go somewhere that you don't want to go to? That's not the God of Christians. He gives you the choice to live otherwise. Yes, there are consequences to that, but you can live that way and God won't stop you.
And as to: "America is trending secular, and this is a good thing."
Last I checked, in the last 100 years or so over 120 million people have been put to death because governments decided that religion was in their way and needed to be removed. An embrace of the secular is not the way to improve a society and history shows it. Of course, the total embrace of a theocracy isn't either. There has to be balance.
religious aspect
Joyce, they're both good.
Every day I try to curb the hate and enjoy my family. Butt I also love chasing snakes and getin drunk, so they're both good!
Oh! Joy....
will he be talking about his adulterous affair? Nothing like a good sermon from an adulterer to start your weekend.
Is this guy so narcissistic that he thinks we care about anything he has to say? He couldn't keep the "Contract" he made with America.
I guess the drug called "Power" is really addictive.
Fail...
Can do without the religious aspect
But do recognize how it is part of our heritage. Kinda like how chasing snakes out of Ireland gives the world an excuse to get drunk.
Hmmm maybe that was a bad example.
Okay, how about a story about the birth of a baby now gives us an opportunity to stop our hate for even just one day and enjoy our family.
There, that's better.
Religion in America
I don't suppose we will be seeing this on PBS anytime soon?
Commercialism
Neal, are you going to rediscover god too or are you just rediscovering how profitable "covert" commercials can be?
America is trending secular
I don't know about Newt's new movie, but based on the title, I'm guessing it's going to extoll the "traditional values" of Christianity.
America is trending secular, and this is a good thing. It is a good thing for people to get a grip on reality and stop medieval-style worship of some imaginary friend who lives in the sky.
By the way, what kind of a ruthless, horrible god orders you to worship him under penalty of eternal damnation if you don't. Is this a guy worthy of your devotion?
Break yourself free of the shackles of religion!
Hooray
I love people that complain about the government that they were ousted from and no longer work in. This is like listening to someone complain about a company he was fired from. LAME
