Hey look! We switched to a new provider for our online broadcast. Check it out. The audio quality has been improved so it should sound much better for you. If you have any troubles with the new online broadcast, see our audio help page. I know the page talks all about Internet Explorer like no one uses anything else, but the stream cranked up just fine for me using Safari on a Mac running 10.6. It also worked fine using Firefox 3.5.2 on a WinXP box. Ah, just checked it on the iPhone. Works just fine. Maybe someone can tell us if it works on a Blackberry?

What others are saying

  • Listening later, option
I've used AudioHijackPro as well as Red Button from RadioTime.com. It works just like a tivo for radio
  • Excellent
Your new provider works well in Linux-Ubuntu using Mozilla Firefox, too.
  • Listening later
I Just noticed the comment from Michelle who used to listen like I did through the Flip4Mac plug-in and thought I would suggest an option for listening to the WSB audio stream later.

The program AudioHijackPro can record audio from any source and can be set up to record on a timer. It is a great way to record internet radio so you can listen later or on an MP3 player and it only costs $32. It works great for grabbing audio from sites like YouTube too.

  • MacOS 10.5 and 10.4
Works great on my Intel Mac running 10.5 and on my ancient PowerPC Mac running 10.4 all the way over here in British Columbia. Sounds great too.
  • Was astounded...
Read this section and I was amazed at the tech lingo being tossed around. I was wondering when Neal became so educated in tech talk! Then my gaze wandered up and saw that it was written by the wonderful webwench.

Works great on my iPhone. Thanks!
  • Crackberry
Works fine on my Crackberry, don't know what Tim and Bud are talking about. Maybe they don't have the right music/stream software on their phones.

ps for ww: macs are teh ghey
  • Clear Channel app for BB
Neal's got a list of all the stations that carry him (http://boortz.com/contact/syndication.html). If any of these are Clear Channel stations, you can get a free Clear Channel app (iheartradio) for Black Berry that'll let you listen to their stations. I've found Rush and Hannity on there, now that I've got a list of stations he broadcasts on I can look at their station list and compare. Since we can't stream him on BB.
  • Blackberry
I tried it on my blackberry, but all I got was a screen that was black at the top and white at the bottom. No words, no links, no audio.
  • No Go on the Blackberry
As long as BB (RIM) won't support Adobe Shockwave, this won't work on a BB.
  • Mac reply
Webwench, that was a really funny reply! I get your point...
  • Thank You
Finally. Ive been using a mac and the flip4mac plugin just doesn't help at all. I can't mute it without muting the entire computer. Thanks!!!!
  • Excellent!
Usually, I listen via Radio-Locator.com, but for some reason, it was not working today. So, I tried your new listening device, and it's so much better than the old one and better that Radio-Locator.com. Nice job.
  • @rob
really rob? do you really need to start the mac vs pc war here? i've already had to moderate 250 comments on this site alone today. i don't need to read an endless string of "macs are teh ghey" and "windoze suxxors" comments. m'kay?
  • Mac computers
Macs...computers for technologically-challenged people who don't use computers much for business applications (with the exception of graphic designs).
  • Works Great in Ubuntu
    Thanks!
  • any chance of making it possible to listen outside of show hours
Unfortunately, I'm in an area that isn't broadcasting the Boortz show during show hours and work blocks streaming.

If I could stream the audio later in the day, I'd listen in most nights.
  • Works GREAT on iPhone
Can't stream reliably through my PC at work, but WSB's iPhone interface works great. Runs in the background, and sounds great through my Philips stereo. Big improvement, in my book!
  • Great!
Was very excited to have a real player on my Mac at work, instead of using a Flip4Mac QuickTime conversion to kind of make it work. Only downside... Flip4Mac used to "save" whatever had been streamed so I could pause it, go to a meeting/lunch, and come back and resume where I was. As long as the window was open, it was saved. That was kind of nice, now I actually have to listen live! Haha, same as I would have done at home on the PC.
  • feature missing
Sounds better, but missing a Pause button - my health breaks and impromptu 'meetings' dont often coincide with commercials :P Hey WW, see if the new client has one and just needs to be activated.

    Safari or FF3 - osx 10.5

    Thanks !
  • re: Palm/cell phone
I have to agree "the real growth is for handheld units." harharhar
  • neal.....neal....neal.........
oh crap!!!your program sounds sooooo much better......when herman cain is on..........

ok you do too.....during commercial breaks........sorry....

    congRATs on the upgrade......
  • PODCAST
podcast... Podcast... PODCAST!!! I will freaking PAY a monthly subscription to be able to download podcasts of the show if I have to! Talk to whoever is in charge of this stuff. We want to download your show! Put ads at the start and end like Clark Howard does and make them free if possible!
  • Great job!
A flash audio streamer is the smart choice for today's web. Looks great and sounds great!
  • works great
I love this much better than the other. It booted just fine in Firefox and I had no idea the change was coming. Thanks so much.
  • yeah
now that you mention it, sounds nice. does this mean i wont have to listen to the exact same ads 50x a day every day?
  • Thank you
It really works, I can now use it with Linux and firefox. No more hassles...
  • New Audio
It works great, BUT do they need to raise the volume on the commercials!! I need to lower it every time a commercial comes on so i don't blast the entire office
  • Tight Interface and quick loading...
Really nice Neal. Sound is great. I love it. Thank you!
  • OMG
    So clear! Eerily clear.
  • yes, Yess, YESSSS
New feed works just fine. Loaded instantly. So far no buffering. That was always irritating for me. You sound great. Count me as Boortzed In.

    Luv U long time.
  • New Audio Stream
Now I can stream at work!

I think it was easier to block the old windows audio provider versus this embedded flash player.

    Thanks!
  • Meh.
Don't want to be a downer - the new interface looks great and the sound is fine - but I used to listen direct to Quicktime so if I close the browser I still have the radio. Now, QT does not recognize the URL, so I lose that. Well, like I said, it is better than it was.
  • Sounds Great!
    Sounds great and looks great!
  • FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!1
A modern solution! Great job. Firewalls just got pwned!
  • finally I can listen again using Linux!
Since you switched away from Real Audio years and years ago, I as a Linux user couldn't hear your show. The new streaming setup works like a charm--clicked, and about a second later, there it was. Thanks!
  • Nice
Finally got rid of that home-made player!!! Much better. The benefits of being second tier have been realized!
  • Wait! You didn't just exercise captitalist freedom!
What!!! You can't just...drop one provider and pick up another! That would be NOT depending on the goverment to properly regulate the market. Your old provider was "too big to fail". Arrgghhh!!!

Congratulations on using the free market to force your old provider to either shape up or ship out.
  • THANKS!!!
Thanks for switching providers. I can now listen live instead of waiting for my local station to carry it.

Works great in Chrome too!!! Your ROCK Neal.
  • Works great!
    Works great on IE8.

Don't worry Neal... you may use a crapintosh, but we won't hold that against you.
  • Works on my mac!
Works on my mac running Snow Leopard and the latest Safari update.
  • Works on Fedora Core 9!
For those using a real operating system!
  • New Stream App
The new player loaded just fine for me in Google Chrome. I've gotta say, the audio does sound better! I was worried yesterday when I couldn't get anything to load. Thanks Neal!
  • Oh well...
the OLD streaming software was one of the few that DID work with my company's internet configuration... now the new one is broken as bad as all the rest. So now I'll have to work without listening to you Neal... PS - I have tried all the "helps" and they won't fix the problem...
  • Palm/cell phone
I wish you guys would do a stream for Palms and cell phone. The fancy dancy interface is nice for desktop users, but the real growth is for handheld units.
  • It Works!!!
Finally I can listen online even through our firewall. Thanks so much.
  • FINALLY !! I can listen...
Sweet! I am so glad that you chose a working streaming application. I haven't had an audio Boortz fix for well over a year now... but now I can listen.
Thank you for making this sound business move. That other provider's junk would work only with a "default only' Internet Exploder - but not on Win XP with custom audio/video upgrades.
(Using Firefox 3.0.1 and Win XP.)
  • New Interface
Fired right up in I.E. Looks snazzy, sounds good. You da man.
  • W00T!
Awesome! Unlike the last version, this one gets past the blocked sites at work!
  • Online Broadcast
Works great on IE 7 / WinXP / Stinkpad.

Never could get the old one to work. Not that I tried that hard.
