BLACK POLITICAL ASPIRANTS TO JIMMY CARTER ...

.... Would you please sit down and shut up you old fool!

Yup. Think about this one for a moment. You're a young black man or woman, you're finishing up your education and hope to have a career in politics. Along comes Barack Obama and you're just elated! The barrier has been broken and a black man is now President of the United States! Your path is clear!

But wait! In the early months of Obama's presidency his inexperience starts to show. He fails on several big fronts: Health care, cap-and-trade and the union card-check bill. He tries to convince the American people that he can provide health care to 30+ million Americans who are now uninsured ... and that he can do it with fewer doctors and nurses while spending less than we're spending right now ... and all this without every denying anyone the health care they may need. The American people don't buy it.

Let's see .. what else. Where do we start? He negotiates an automobile bailout plan that favors unions at the expense of secured investors. He appoints a serial tax cheat to run the Treasury Department. He starts a trade war with China. He tells our European allies that they're on their own when it comes to defense against incoming ballistic missiles .. and on and on and on.

So .. as Obama's incompetence becomes more evident; as his anti-capitalistic philosophy fleshes out before our eyes; and his lies see the light of day ... the criticisms start coming in. How do the liberals respond! Predictably, that's how. Everyone who criticizes the president is simply a racist! They just don't like a black man in the white house!

Now .. just how does this hurt future political aspirants? How does it hurt you? You already understand, don't you? The majority of voters out there are still white ... and unless you're going to be content being a mayor or city councilman in a city or district with a majority black voting base, you're going to need some votes from the white side. You know that many white voters are feeling a little shell shocked right now. Many of them voted for Obama. They thought the time had come when our country was going to move beyond race! Wouldn't that have been wonderful? But in light of recent events they think that they might have made a mistake. They did what they thought was right and certainly politically correct, and suddenly they're racists because they have voiced some disagreements with Obama policies?

So .. what happens when you try to run for office? The voters out there looking at you may have no personal problem with you at all. But there's this lingering fear ... a fear born of the likes of Jimmy Carter, James Clyburn, Maureen Dowd, Howard Dean, Newsweek Magazine, The New York Times and others ... the fear that if these voters ever find it necessary to question or to object to something you do in office, they're going to be branded racists. Who, after all, is going to want to put you in office if your skin color makes you politically bulletproof? So .. they plan to play it safe from now on. Vote for whites. At least when they screw up you can go after them without putting on a white robe and cone hat.

The race baiters aren't doing you any favors. But you knew that, didn't you?

What others are saying

  • Jimmy Carter
I guess Jimmy Carter is God knowing hearts and minds of people. Just bcause Joe Wilson said Barrack Hussien Obama was a liar does not mean he a racist, Obama is a liar. Obama is a racist calling his Grand Mother a typical White person, now that's racist. Jimmy cracked corn, but this Jimmy is on crack. The Dems always try to get off the issue, so to get off the isuue of scocialized Medicine they say there is people hating Obama because he is black. No people are tired of the over spending, turning our country into a socialist state. People are not racist just fed up with the Government.
  • Keep your Mouth SHUT Jimmy.
Jimmy... Shut Up , Obama is going to make you look like a Saint. That is unless you keep talking. You will end up back as the worst prez we have ever had.
  • On target!
Jimmy has shot future candidates in the foot!
  • hiring blacks
After all the liberals are done with their race baiting, cries of racism, and racial attacks on anyone opposing Obama's positions, there will be a recognition that raqce relations in America were set back 50 years. I would be very much against hiring a black person to work for me now. I am not biased (I adopted 2 minority children), but I would be scared to death that I might have a disagreement with the employee. I refuse to walk on eggshells because I don't want to called a racist or be sued for racial discrimination. The hell with it...I just won't hire any more of them. I'm done, thanks to every liberal who is spewing the race card in the name of the idiot in office.
  • Health care
"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it."

    Frederic Bastiat

This is a perfect description of the health insurance industry
  • Carter and the South
In the 1976 election Carter drew criticism for saying he understands why people wanted "to preserve the ethnic purity of their neighborhoods." I guess saintly J.C. was just pandering to all the racist voters.

The other thing that struck me about Carter's remark he is that he starts off by saying he's from the South, racism's all over the South, but then says racism's all over the country. So why does he single out the South in the first place?
  • Efrem
    your right there

"I'm loving it!" (maxwell smart) :O)
  • Only affects the sheeple.
Morrigan - I'd still vote for Powell, (even though he supported BO - 1 mistake) BO hasn't changed anything for me. Unfortunately I'm not a waffle voter, I pick carefully before I cast my vote, so I don't count for the basis of this.
  • Carter was worse than worthless.
Jimmy Carter – Took Office 1977, Misery index 12.72. Left Office 1980, misery index 19.72. Average misery index 20.72. Democrats controlled both houses of congress all four years. Out of 11 presidents with complete data he ranked 11th causing a 7% increase in 4 years, dead last!

I lived through his mess. What he has to say is meaningless to me!
  • Cop out t-shirt
Going to the ole "Bush did it" trick (quoting Maxwell Smart). I don't give a rat's behind what Bush did, Obama needs to CUT spending. It's time to go to the House of Pain!!
  • What about YOUR 1% Jenny?
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/12/analysis-press-largely-ignored-incendiary-rhetoric-bush-protest/

When Bush visited Portland, Ore., for a fundraiser, protesters stalked his motorcade, assailed his limousine and stoned a car containing his advisers. Chanting "Bush is a terrorist!", the demonstrators bullied passers-by, including gay softball players and a wheelchair-bound grandfather with multiple sclerosis.

One protester even brandished a sign that seemed to advocate Bush's assassination. The man held a large photo of Bush that had been doctored to show a gun barrel pressed against his temple.

"BUSH: WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE," read the placard, which had an X over the word "ALIVE."

Another poster showed Bush's face with the words: "F--- YOU, MOTHERF---ER!"

A third sign urged motorists to "HONK IF YOU HATE BUSH." A fourth declared: "CHRISTIAN FASCISM," with a swastika in place of the letter S in each word.

Jenny > I refuse to let you try to hold me responsible for those people when YOU won't take responsibility for your scum!
  • Big Joe Williams
they don't have to attack us. they just have to tell us what to do or they'll ruin our economy. or tell us what not to do. like doing nothing while they reclaim formosa.
  • You're almost there Neal, but not quite!
You've forgotten to ask why! Why, if they really want race unity, would they engage in this race baiting crap?

The answer is very simple. These are the same people that controlled the Dems from the 1860's to the 1960's. You have to admit it is a nice piece of public reverse psychology. They changed the surface message to gain support for their party, but the underlying goal remains the same. They scream racist and racism to sow division and discord along racial lines, but now the sheeple think it’s their opponents that are the bad guys.
  • fiscal control?
bush didn't have fiscal control either. the pentagon couldn't find 2.3 trillion dollars that it was allotted.

    don't throw stones....

  • Billboard
Excellent remarks Neal. I told my wife just last night after hearing these Carter comments I wish I had the money to rent a billboard. It would say " To all Black politicians and public officials - If you can't take the heat get out of the political kitchen ".
  • 3mbw - Arrogance?
I am glad that you are a student of American history. You must, therefore, know that it was rugged individualism, a yearning to live free, a disdain for oppressive government, risk-taking and focused ambition that helped Americans to put the United States of America at the forefront of global military and economic power in less than 200 years (a feat virtually unheard of in the history of the world). While Mr. Obama and his ilk seek to erase the enormous gains we have made in deference to "fairness" and "equality", he downplays a factor the left has grown to hate - American exceptionalism. It's what allowed us to make the scientific, economic, cultural and political advances that the rest of the world has come to depend upon. Mr. Obama seeks a U.S. that will take its place as an equal member of the world community - not a superpower - but on an even keel with Libya, France, Somalia, Andorra, Italy, Poland, etc. If he realizes his vision, who then will be at the forefront of advancing civilization? Islam? Fascism? Socialism? Communism? Something or someone will need to fill the void left by the U.S. I am not as willing to leave that to chance as many of you on the left are. People are free to vote for whom they choose; however, as Neal is fond of saying, elections do have consequences. Mr. Obama is trying to change the paradigm of what made this country great - and many on the right are not pleased because it trivializes those factros that made our country great. He is attempting to change us into something we are not and never wanted to be - Dependent. Perhaps I "jumped the gun" in declaring Mr. Obama's presidency "failed" - but, history will inevitably prove me correct. And, I still stand behind my statement that if you don't understand the issues, stay home on election day and relegate your voting to American Idol. There is simply too much at stake.
  • Mr. 3b
I declare the Obama presidency a failure already when his proposed budgets will send us $7 to $9 trillion more into debt by 2019. This is prima facie evidence that he has abdicated any pretense of fiscal control in his budgets.
  • By Four Scored @
Wow, tell us what you really think. :)
  • Setting us up for Disaster.
You know, the most dangerous thing about Obama's and Congress' out-of-control government spending is that they've already spent us into bankruptcy and we owe the Chinese BILLIONS. Therefore, any anti-American foreign government out there with any lick of sense must be thinking to themselves..."ya know, if we attacked the United States right now, well, they couldn't financially afford to fight another war right now - we might just could crush the bastards! Should we attack now or let their finanicial system crumble even further soas to make it a sure victory for us?! - Their leadership is weak and careless with money. Let's Roll!". If I was a foreign anti-American government, that's what I'd be thinking. Let's just sit back and wait to pounce on the United States. This sucks folks, but is very likely gonna be the outcome. Cling to your guns and bibles. God bless us all.
  • what do you mean.........................
3bmw............what do you mean by "YOUR PEOPLE"......are you some kinda toe nail nibblin' racist?????
  • Bravo, Neal...well put.
You're saying what I've been thinking...they've cut off their own noses to spite their face, as the saying goes.

Carter was a moron back in his presidency, and I see he has only gotten worse with age. Hmmm...as a woman of color, am I allowed to say that without being racist? Or are only whites racist? Or are only whites allowed to be racist? Or is it only whites that disagree with blacks are racist?

Holy crap, am I getting confused.
  • Back under the bridge, troll!
Hey 3B.M.: Since Obama was elected, unemployment has gone to 10%; deficit spending has ALREADY surpassed Bush's; "czars" have grabbed power from appointed and elected cabinet positions; lies about 95% of households will get a tax cut; billions going to banks that continue to fail; taking over corporations like GM and turning controllership over to unions; record high deaths back to back in Afghanistan; 8 MILLION jobs lost since that idiotic stimulus bill was passed; cap & trade has caused companies to threaten moving overseas; back tracking on Bush's wiretapping; recording internet comments about Obamacare; and on and on. Only a stupid, mindless, idiotic libtard like you would think this administration and the Pelosicrats for that matter, are doing any good. But, we already knew you mindless bed wetting mouth breathing libtards would just childishly scream RACIST! every time someone speaks out like the Tea Party eventers, whom Maxine Waters wants investigated and questions. LAUGHABLE!!!! See you pathetic libtards in two years.
  • worst president EVER
Carter is aware that only moonbat liberals and race-baiters take him seriously, so he appeals to their wacky ideologies. This guy is so desperate to change his "worst president ever" legacy that he'll say or do anything.

Imagine Obama in 40 years. As radical and egomaniacal as he is, he'll be strapping bombs to his chest just to get an interview.
  • Guilty
If you oppose Israel's West Bank settlements...you must be anti-semetic!

If you oppose the suicide bombings by Hamas and Hezbollah...you must be anti-Semtic!

If you think Hugo Chavez is a Marxist...you must be anti-Hispanic.

    etc...etc...etc..
  • I hate to admit it...
but the thought has occurred to me too, that it will be a cold day in hell before another black man or woman is elected President, and that's not fair to black people. This is a perfect excuse for real bigots to say that blacks are unfit for office, just like the anti-choice movement is a great hideout for misogynists.
  • carter
I hear Jimmy is in the market for a "depends Czar".
  • @Guy who didn't figure out things
"The racist bigot protesters are really right wingers pretending to be left wingers pretending to be right wingers."

Yea right, and Rush Limbaugh is really a liberal trying to make conservatives look bad.

This crying "plant" everytime a conservative looks bad on TV is getting old. This is your people offering your positions, or at least the one they heard on the radio.
  • Right On, Neal
I have been thinking awhile that after Obama what man or woman of color will be able to win the support of the moderates represented by independent voters that are necessary to win the Presidency?
  • @roadbiker and MikeM
"In the 8 years of the Bush administration this country was safe from terrorism."

Bush did take a number of needed actions after the fact, but it has already been mentioned that we have gone longer into Obama's adminsitration and no attack has happened then we did into Bush's

"Unlike many commenters, I have seen a rise in "buyer's remorse" and if you did vote for Obama and don't feel it, you just don't understand America and shouldn't have voted in the first place."

What arrogance! I feel no regret for my vote for Obama and I have studied this country and it's history more than most. Of course a conservative feels no one should vote except those who feel like they do.

    "I fear this failed Presidency"

This is not a failed Presidency. What area has he failed in? Not the economy, not foriegn affairs. No this is just more conservative rhetoric.
  • If Carter was fooled...
by the nefarious Robert Mugabe, how can he look into the character of Joe Wilson and others? Your time in the sun is over Jimma. Go home!!
  • Carter
    Quote from Billy Carter
"My 68 yeat old mother just joined the Peace Corps, my one sister is a biker freak, my other sister is a holy roller evangelist, and my brother is running for President. I'm the only sane one in the family"

I stole this quote from somebody else, but I can't remember who
  • roadbiker
i apologize to you sir. i didn't mean to insult your god, george bush. and i won't go into the parties are the same, expect for minor things. they are both parties for the rich vs. no parties for the poor. i would have said middle class, but they're extinct.

but you're just ignorant. the Bush administration this country was safe from terrorism? hahahaha

but you can believe what makes you feel safe. aren't those blinders you have on get tight after a while?
  • What about...
So Jimmy, what opinion do you have about folks that voted for Obama for no other reason than his skin color?

Sorry. Jimmy's dementia has reached a point where it is so horribly obvious, he really needs to find a quiet place and stay there.
  • addendumb..........
CONDI MAN.......when I said bitch I didn't mean condi is one I was makin' the point she would be hated by the left b'cuz she has more smarts in her toenails than the whole osamabama admenistration........

    butt a WOMAN??????????
  • Jimmy Who?
Jimmy Carter doesn't know anything about the typical white person
  • Irrelevant
How old can you get, how bad a president can you be and how many absurd statements can you make before someone officially announces you are irrelevant.
  • to tshirt...
Mr. t-shirt, you would be well-advised to review recent political history and become better educated before making ignorant comments. If you really knew anything about what you were blabbing about, then you would realize that the last 4 years of the former adminstration were guided by a DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY. Even though I do not agree with all of the policies and decisions of the Bush administration, it does not take a political scientist to realize that many decisions (primarily social spending) were made in the form of compromises to the Democratic Congress and Senate. In the 8 years of the Bush administration this country was safe from terrorism. Now we find out that Mr. Obama, when he is not busy blaming President Bush, is eliminating many of the initiatives that were planned to keep us an our allies safe.
  • carter-racism
Neal,I am so glad you are saying this. This is only hurting black people. Rather than risk the chance of being called a racist you just do not vote for them in the first place. People who are in no way racist will consider this at election time. These people whos are calling others racist are to me are the ones who are really the racist.
  • My Theory
The racist bigot protesters are really right wingers pretending to be left wingers pretending to be right wingers.
  • To AGM28B . . . yeah, sure, whatever
OK, AGM, yeah, sure, whatever. Yeah, they are impostors. Next time you talk to one of these individuals, why don't you subsequently go get the attention of a friendly media outlet covering the event and have them investigate. Fox News would jump on the opportunity to expose something like that. If it is so widespread, you'd think someone would have exposed this game by now.

Here's my advice: if you encounter one of these people at your next protest, you and other protestors should do everything they can, within the law and short of violence, to make life very uncomfortable for the sign-holder. The goal would be to get him or her to put away the sign and/or leave the protest. This would be the approach regardless of whether the person was a "real protester" or a "left wing troll" or whether this was uncertain. Either way, I'd think you'd want them out of there.
  • we was watchin'.....................................
me and 3bmw was watchin' the news (jon daily).....and we found out jimmy carter ain't dead.......

did you folks kno' 3bmw bites her toe nails instead of usin' a pair of clippers???????

antway.......we jist laffed and laffed.....we jist luvs osamabama......
  • I Want Condi
We wouldn't have this crap if Condi Rice was President.
  • a few protesters signs
The signs with W portrayed as a monkey didn't seem to rile anyone.
    What's the problem?
Oh yeah, BO is special because he has a tan.
  • Trying To Be
Whenever I criticize Obama people tell me "I'm trying to be white". Since I'm "trying to be white" does that mean I'm trying to be a racist as well? Just curious if those two are synonymous.
  • Jimmy Carter - Racist
    Dear Mr. Carter,
I listened with interest as you misinterpreted the comments recently directed toward President Obama and accused them as being racial in nature. Frankly, and to be blunt, you do not speak for me or the American public and in my opinion you are completely off base with your claims of racism. Being from the south does not make you an expert on racial motivation and your comments will do nothing but instigate racial parity - all for the sake of politics. For God’s sake, this country elected a black president, and I am personally proud that we have come to this place in the history of our great country. It does not matter that Mr. Obama is black (by the way, he is ½ white) – he could be pink, yellow, white or green. He is still a liar and that is a comment based on his character, not the color of his skin. I am personally insulted that you presume to know that “racism inclination still exists,” and that it is “the belief among many white people, not just in the South but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country.” I submit that this is how you feel personally, not the American people. The only abomination here is that your comments are contributing to making this into a racial issue, which I presume will be joined by the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and others with a similar mentality. I'll take Herman Cain or Alan Keyes for president over Mr. Obama any day.
With all due respect, you sir, should be ashamed of yourself and should try to reconcile the social damage you have contributed to. I believe that I can speak for many good American's when I say that we are angry about your comments, not to mention the ruinous path we are being led down by your corrupt colleagues.

This mentality is the reason why your presidency has been judged among the worst in American history, with the current administration catching up quickly...
  • Carter
Question to J. Carter: Were the critics of your presidency, and actions and words since you were voted out of office, racists or cognizant of the your incompetence or was your goal to weaken this country?
  • Over it
The cries of racism are now falling on deaf ears. I don't know a single white person who actually buys any of the racism crap anymore. The boy who cried wolf says it all. Once you've cried racism so many times, no one believes you anymore.
  • Protestors with Signs
According to Jenny, only 1% of the protestors display signs with any type of racism subject matter at the Tea Parties. How many of that 1% are Trolls (leftist moon bats) planting themselves in the Tea Party and Town Hall crowds in hopes CNN will display their sign on the evening news??? I have talked to several individuals that did just that and they think it is funny! It is an obvious, impotent attempt to silence and deny the American People their right of assembly and free speech.
  • So where was Carter
When 'W' was being treated like this?

I guess the lefty moon bats are racist too!

    What a joke.
  • Any
What does the press do? They go out and find someone to fuel this racism theme. Any person who virtually ruined this country in 4 years (Carter) does not even warrant an opinion in my book. My best memory of Carter was when he was waving goodbye from Marine Corps One.This is another example of "Who cares what they think"?
  • Monkey shines
So, Jenny, would the whole race issue be different if the president was not (half) black?
  • Jimmy Carter
There are certain celebrities in this world that you have to wonder, why does anyone keep putting a microphone and camera in front of this individual? Jimmah is such a person.
  • Jimmah
    Moe,

You ask why Jimmah thinks he has something to contribute.

Jimmah doesn't think, period. He is, and has always been, a liberal political hack. He would sell his daughter if he thought it would advance the Party cause.

No one has had the gumption to tell Jimmah to STFU!
  • Jimmy Carter viewed positively by nearly 2 in 3 Americans
Sadly, you Georgians have soured on your native son. In actuality, the American people view Jimmy Carter in a positive light, with a 64% positive rating (See Opinion Research Poll at http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/01/07/polls.former.presidents/index.html)

Jimmy Carter may have had a failed presidency, but his work as an elder statesmen has been admirable.

I wonder what that intellectual giant George Bush II will accomplish over the course of the rest of his life. Do you think he'll write any books in his own words without a ghostwriter? Do you think he'll win a Nobel prize? I'm guessing he'll spend most of his life giving canned speeches to corporate conventions and clearing the rest of the brush in Crawford, TX.

Like it or not, history will be kind to Jimmy Carter the man, if not Jimmy Carter the president.
  • As someone recently said
Why is Obama already better than Bush, one person recently said because he has almost gone a week longer w/o someone attacking America. I guess Bush not listening to his intelligence doesnt count as a failure but Obama sponsoring bills does count as a failure.
  • The Wrong Black Man at the Wrong Time
Unlike many commenters, I have seen a rise in "buyer's remorse" and if you did vote for Obama and don't feel it, you just don't understand America and shouldn't have voted in the first place. During the 2008 election I felt the time was right for a black President; however, I felt equally certain that Obama should not be that first black President. Why couldn't it have been J.C. Watts, Colin Powell or Alan Keyes?? I fear this failed Presidency will do more to hurt the aspirations of future black politicians than any single racist rant. Now people will point and say, "See, I told you a black man couldn't be President!" Hopefully we will still have some semblence of America left after Mr. Obama leaves office in January 2013. Then we will need talented individuals of all races to help "pick up the pieces" of our society.
  • ivan is right
to bad the conservatives don't realize their party is the party that raped and looted the American people. with the democrats help.
  • Protesters with monkey signs
So long as right wing nuts with monkey-themed and other overtly racist anti-Obama signs continue to show up at townhall and teabag rallies, the right is open to charges of racism. Yes, these folks may be 1% of the protestors, but surely you know that they are the ones that will get the media attention and create the perception.

Next time you're at one of your right wing love-ins and encounter some bigoted idiot with a sign like that, kindly advise the jerk that he is not helping the image of the conservative cause. That would go a long ways to calming the charges of racism.
  • Conspicuously Irrelevant
Somebody whose name I've since forgotten once said that Jimmy Carter had become "conspicuously irrelevant." What I've never figured out is why a man who was most likely the most ineffective President this country has ever known still feels that he has anything to contribute. He pals around with terrorists while bashing Isreal, and has now joined the ranks of the race baiters who consider any disagreement with the Messiah Obama an act of racist heresy. Jimmy Carter just needs to go away.
  • @3mbw
That's why I don't put bumper stickers on my vehicles, they are almost impossible to remove
  • Sorry 3mbw
Once again, you will be proved wrong. And 2010 is the only time we will know for sure despite all your denials.

There is no specific evidence of racism so this has to be an attempt to demonize conservatives and distract us from the real subjects. I will not be a part of this discussion anymore. Off to find out if you have a real subject to discuss.
  • @3mbw
Oh...and you missed the point of Boortz's post.
  • Sorry...???
    3mbw... yeah right
  • @3mbw
I wouldn't expect them to have buyer's remorse. He indicated he was a socialist before he ran, he promised socialism ("spread the wealth") around during the campaign and now he is trying to implement socialism. If you voted for him, you are likely an ignorant socialist or just not paying attention. In either case, why would you change your mind now?
  • His advice IS valid
And you're wrong about the bumper stickers, AND the buyers remorse! You are just whistling in the dark as you walk past the graveyard!
  • Cowardocrats
That's what we need to start calling them. If all they can childishly do is scream "RACIST!" every time someone speaks out against Obama because they are too afraid to intellectually and honestly debate, says it all.

And speaking of Jimmy Carter, let's give it up for Obama caving to the Russians and making the world less safe! Way to go Moronocrats!

And for the moron below, Boort'z advice is very valid, Cowardocrat. Over half the nation rejects CommieCare your Moronocrats are trying to ram through. Oh, painless is waiting in 2010 and 2012. You won't have to worry about remorse much longer, pal. Moderates and Republicans who sat home in protest of McCain got Obama elected, not you thirty percenters out there who think Obama is doing a great job running this nation.
  • To 3mbw
So in other words you are complicit in the raping and looting of American people. Good job there. Thanks for nothing. Obama is Bush 2.0 with a leftist spin.
  • TODAY'S TRIVIA QUESTION
What world-famous politician described his own grandmother as "a typical white person"...?
  • Where's that suicide rabbit when you need him!
For those of you who remember the attacking bunny story!
  • Sorry
Your advice would be good if it was valid.
