ADMIT TO A LITTLE JEALOUSY

Oh how I would like to see a march on Washington of that magnitude promoting the FairTax. Now with the looters in charge in Washington right now that could well be an exercise in futility. But if the Republicans get on the ball and make the FairTax a part of their 2010 platform (another Contract with America?), do you folks think we could gin up a crowd like this?

What others are saying

  • Fair Tax, because the best way to get out of a recession....
FairTax now, because the best way to get out of a recession is to reward the hording of money. Good one.
  • The FairTax
I wasn't able to attend the DC march, but I wanted to be there.

I know from the local and state level protests, rallies, and marches I have attended the FairTax was well represented.

I always wear my FairTax T-Shirt, and if it is cool enough my FairTax hoodie.

These movements are interconnected. I am ready to continue through 2010 and beyond.
  • Fairtax -- our senators
I have sent such a notice of intent to Saxby Chambliss and John Linder about the idea of the Republicans getting behind the Fair Tax, (even though they support, but) -- making that the supreme issue for the Republicans for 2010. If more people were to do that with their congressional reps or the party in general, then they'll get the idea/ votes. I've gotten a few people I know to change their minds about the Fair Tax Plan, you just got to get them one at a time. I feel the momentum changing. Just keep pressing! Contact the republican hierarchy, lets get them to understand, and they'll win votes easily.
  • Fair Tax
I was at a rally in the other Washington and I saw a generous number of Fair Tax shirts and signs in the crowd. It's building but I agree I wish more of the partiers were pushing this excellent solution.
  • RE:S.T.M.S.
I'm curious; does it mean Short Term Memory Syndrome?
  • Dang it!
    S.T.M.S..........................................
    aren't you curious??????
    By butt neckid

I was trying real hard not to ask (axe)...
  • Spread the Word - Fair Tax = Smaller Gov
If they can't use the tax code against us, they can't get away with the crap they have been.
  • political rallies are overrated
I work on liberals one dumbass at a time. That's my speed. The idea of going to a rally and hanging with a bunch of like-minded conservatives does not appeal to me in any way, shape, or form. First and foremost, I get my fair share of contempt of government by talking with customers and watching/listening to alternative media sources. If I wanted to hang out with a bunch of pissed off people, I'd move to the Middle East. Secondly, and probably most important, conservative chicks are fat, ugly, frigid, and high maintenance. Just 1 of the 4 negatives is still a huge negative. Give me a YDFC liberal chick any day of the week, and I'll show you a satisfied man.
  • Re:T-shirt
    you said:
"you people that think our government's going to give control back to the people just amaze me. it's so funny!!!! LOL!!!!"

Try and remember son, King George didn't "give" us the country either. He got his @$$ whipped by a bunch of farmers and merchants with the b@ll$ to stand up to him. I hope sincerely that we all have the same courage that men like Sam Adams had.
  • Doc
    hahahaha
you people that think our government's going to give control back to the people just amaze me. it's so funny!!!! LOL!!!!
    By tshirt-doctor.com

Nope. Don't expect it at all. But we can TAKE it back.
  • S.T.M.S..........................................
    aren't you curious??????
  • Neal: in a word "YES"
We haven't even had Obozo in office for a year and already the crowds are swelling to 1.2 million to protest his policies. What will the crowds by a year from now? Two years from now?

We are witnessing the birth of a revolution.
  • he looked funny...............................
the other day at the rally.......Tshirt was wearin' one of my sheets......the one that had those holes in it.......and the big brown stain.....he took it from the hamper......the dirty one..........

Tshirt...........you sound like you need a 'pick you up'.......the lil' blue ones.........
  • another GOP contract with America?
hell no! you'd have to be a sucker to allow the GOP the privilege of regaining control of anything. they are as responsible for the mess the US is in as any Dem.

libertarians are sitting on a major opportunity right now.
  • you done goooooooood boy......................
ERICH.........don't apologize for showin' you gotta brain.......I never do an' look at the stuff I write....wait.....maybe I'm not the goodest 'xample......
  • Lane Meyer- surely you can come up with something more original than comparing the protest to a klan rally. You lefties really need a new stategy. Calling us racists doesn't exactly ruffle our feathers at this point. You have overused it to the point where it is not effective, and only makes you look desperate.
  • well the weather was just..............................
don't forget that americans have S.T.M.S........................
  • @ Lane Meyer
Typical of those who don't know history. A little lesson for you...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan

The first Klan was founded in 1865 by Tennessee veterans of the Confederate Army. Groups spread throughout the South. Its purpose was to restore white supremacy in the aftermath of the American Civil War. The Klan resisted Reconstruction by assaulting, murdering and intimidating freedmen and white Republicans. In 1870 and 1871 the federal government passed the Force Acts, which were used to prosecute Klan crimes. Prosecution and enforcement suppressed Klan activity. In 1874 and later, however, newly organized and openly active paramilitary organizations such as the White League and Red Shirts started a fresh round of violence aimed at suppressing Republican voting and running Republicans out of office. These contributed to white Democrats regaining political power in the southern states.

    further down the read...

Lifting the Klan mask revealed a chaotic multitude of antiblack vigilante groups, disgruntled poor white farmers, wartime guerrilla bands, displaced Democratic politicians, illegal whiskey distillers, coercive moral reformers, sadists, rapists, white workmen fearful of black competition, employers trying to enforce labor discipline, common thieves, neighbors with decades-old grudges, and even a few freedmen and white Republicans who allied with Democratic whites or had criminal agendas of their own. Indeed, all they had in common, besides being overwhelmingly white, southern, and Democratic, was that they called themselves, or were called, Klansmen.

    and again...

n effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy. Its purposes were political, but political in the broadest sense, for it sought to affect power relations, both public and private, throughout Southern society. It aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party's infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.

The problem with the Democratic party is that they are the party of Mob Rule. "Enforce your rules through fear, intimidation and coercion." The reason they don't know how to deal with these rallies is that while there are a massive number of people, they aren't attempting to use fear. They are trying to get those in government to see that there are people who do not want us to go down the road of mob rule. We want to stay a Republic and that we want the Federal government to quit digging into our pockets for those who won't get off their butts to save themselves. Unfortunately, as the gentleman in one of the videos said, we have to yell because they don't want to listen.

Lord, this turned into a long post. SOrry about that.
  • hahahaha
you people that think our government's going to give control back to the people just amaze me. it's so funny!!!! LOL!!!!
  • LOL
    HAHAHA
Republicans have generated crowds similar, havent you ever seen klan rallies?
    By Lane Meyer

    scares ya don't it
  • People ARE waking up.
My wife and I went to DC for the march and were completely blown away by the crowds. What encouraged us was is the American people are waking up. We're only 8 or 9 months into this administration--look at the crowds. Just think of what it'll look like in another 8 months--if we still have our First Amendment rights.

Don't be jealous Neal; the Far Tax signs were everywhere.
  • Yes. But they need a clear message.
If they can get an articulate leader to champion a Contract with two main pillars: 1) the Fair Tax, and 2) a return to Constitutional separation of powers between the States and federal government, then the Republicans will take 2010 - and they'll take it huge.
  • Not just group-identity
The reason that the Left is so effective at getting groups of people together (whose numbers routinely are greatly over-estimated by the talking heads on the media -- remember the "million" man march?) is not just that "progressives" are more prone to group-think, they also are prone to not having jobs! It is much easier to get college kids and the unemployed to mass together than it is to get responsible people with jobs and responsibilities.
  • HAHAHA
Republicans have generated crowds similar, havent you ever seen klan rallies?
  • Fairtax at march
There were plenty on Fairtax signs, shirts etc at the rally - what a wonderful experience to finally stand up for what I believe in!!
  • I saw some Fair Tax signs...
...in the photos. If EVERY one one of us productive citizens who had to work could have shown up, the traffic would still be snarled.
  • I don't think the GOP has the stones.
They certainly need a positive platform embracing freedom and the free market. They need to show they are willing to give freedom and control back to the people, and become fiscally responsible again. A contract to do so would be a good idea. You can tell what a great an effective idea it was because even the dp tried to imitate it.
  • How did the media...
get the numbers so wrong on the turnout for the march? The answer should be obvious. They don't want the people that watch mainstream news to see that there are really people out there in mass that oppose what the elites are doing. They don't know how to deal with this. There is no way to spin what happened on the 12th. BTW I thought it was hilarious how this morning we got hit with another tape from Bin Laden. Nice timing huh? Right after 9/11 and the biggest march on Washington in our nation's history. Pfft and some of you out there deny the things I tell you... :(
  • Tea-Party In DC
Here, I'll save the State Media some work today:

    'TURNOUT LOWER THAN HOPED'
'TEA-BAGGERS< 'THOUSANDS OF WHITES THREATEN OBAMA'
'RICH CONSERVATIVES MAKE PLEA TO KEEP STATUS QUO'
    'ANGRY MOBS DESCEND ON CAPITOL'
'TOURISTS AND SKOOCHIRREN DENIED ENTRY TO WASHINGTON MEMORIALS BY ANGRY WHITE MOBS'
    'CORPORATIONS SEND ORGANIZED PROTESTORS'
  • Wasn't that awesome!
I watched all of it on Fox and recorded CNN for two hours to compare coverage. CNN showed a one minute clip six times during the two hours, the same clip all six times. HA!

It was great. Time to throw the corrupters out.
  • Hell yes!
If the GOP got on the ball and stood united with the Fairtax as their primary platform, and seemed steadfast and sincere about it, I would actually vote for them again.
