Up for discussion on the show today. Get the full story here.

Unfortunately the story today will be the classless rudeness of S.C. Republican Joe Wilson rather than the gaping logic holes in Obama's speech. Usually that type of boorish behavior is reserved for liberals when a conservative is speaking on a college campus.

Who will be the first to call Joe Wilson a racist?

Wilson can't claim a momentary and uncontrollable lapse of judgment. He walked in there with a sign that said "no bull."

Of course illegal aliens won't be covered. That would be because by the time this plan is put into effect they won't be "illegal" any more. They will have been legitimized by a Democrat party seeking more core voters.

And then there's this ... if illegal aliens aren't going to be covered, then why does he include the 10 to 12 million uninsured illegal aliens in the number of the uninsured when he's promoting ObamaCare?

One more thing ... Wilson's outburst would have been par for the course in the British Parliament. Ever listen to those characters when the Prime Minister is speaking?

Reports are that Chris Matthews was hospitalized last night with uncontrollable thrills running up and down his leg.

Obama says that monopolies can stifle competition. He's right. So where were his suggestions as to how to increase competition among private insurance companies? Obama's solution to health insurance monopolies? Give government the monopoly. A monopoly with guns. How nice.

Obama talks about right wing scare tactics used to fight his health care plan. Then he says that without his plan more people ... thousands more ... will die. So just who is using the scare tactics?

Obama wants to save money? How about curtailing whatever government program it is that buys electric scooters for lardasses. Do you know that taxpayers spend billions of dollars a year on this?

I only counted three "tax the rich" moments in the speech last night. Did I miss any?

Obama managed to get in a few slams against the evil "profit motive." In Obama's world anyone seeking to make a profit from their efforts is to be scorned. The desire to make a profit is always suspect.

Still pushing the "public option" - really a government option. Why so essential? This is the poison dart aimed at private insurers. This is the clear path to single payer. Obama knows it. Democrats know it. And they know that most of the great unwashed don't' know it.

No taxpayer money for the government option? Does he really expect us to buy that dog squeeze? As soon as the government health insurance option runs into trouble there will be "emergency" bailout bills presented in congress -- because to do otherwise would be to jeopardize the health care of millions of Americans, and we just can't do that, can we?

Obama says that no one would be "required" to chose the government option. Wiggle room: The law won't require you to join, but when your private insurance company is run out of business by the government plan you won't really have another choice.

Obama kept talking about competition. Fine. Then let health insurance companies sell their products across state lines. Also ... get rid of the asinine mandates. Why should you be forced to buy insurance that covers you for hair transplants in Connecticut? Why should some who doesn't drink have to buy insurance that covers alcohol rehab? Ditto for drug rehab.

Have you considered the possibility that Obama simply doesn't understand the American health care system? To put it bluntly ... is it possible that he simply doesn't know what he's talking about? Consider two points:

  1. President Obama famously suggested that a doctor, faced with a child with a persistent sore throat, might simply decide to take the child's tonsils out in order to earn a bigger payday. Almost every mother who has taken her child to a pediatrician knows that a tonsillectomy would not be performed by the family doctor, but by a surgeon. Obama didn't know what he was talking about.

  2. Obama also suggested that a doctor treating a patient with diabetes might just decide to amputate the patient's foot or leg in order to earn a $40,000 or $50,000 payday. Once again Obama fails to recognize that it would not be the diabetic's primary physician that would perform that surgery. He also didn't seem to know that the surgeon who does the actual amputation would make hundreds, not thousands.

This is basic stuff. Pediatricians don't do the tonsil surgery. Primary care physicians don't amputate limbs. Basic stuff --- but Obama was clueless. So this is the guy you want to trust to overhaul our health care systems? Yeah .. .works for me.

The Supreme Court is hearing an interesting case at the moment over campaign finance laws. Now ... if you are a regular listener to the Neal Boortz Show, you will know that I am not a fan of campaign finance reform. McCain-Feingold. When in doubt, I default to freedom. And in this case, I am talking about the freedom to contribute whatever you choose to whomever you choose.

The case currently being heard are concerns a political film, "Hillary: The Movie." The movie was produced by Citizens United, a non-profit group, but the funds to produce the movie were donated by corporations. Let's face it, the movie wasn't kind to Hillary Clinton. Then again, she's not what you would call a kind person anyway. Anyway ... the movie was blocked from being aired by the Federal Election Commission because it believed to be violating campaign finance restrictions. The FEC cited that the sole purpose of the documentary was "to inform the electorate that Senator Clinton is unfit for office, that the United States would be a dangerous place in a President Hillary Clinton world and that viewers should vote against her." And the problem is??

Think about this: How many anti-Bush movies were out there during his campaigns? Remember that slug Michael Moore? Corporate money funded those films as well. Where was the FEC while Moore was spreading his venom?

The justices don't seem to be buying it. Based on the line of questioning, it seems like the justices believe laws banning corporations and unions from buying TV ads for political candidates discriminates against the first amendment rights of mom and pop businesses.

John McCain wasn't too thrilled to hear about this. He says, "The questioning shows a real disconnect, a strong disconnect between the justices and political reality ... I wish that one of the justices who were standing up for people's First Amendment rights had ever run for county sheriff. He says that the justices showed an "extreme naiveté of the influence of corporate money and soft money."

THE CZARS TO TESTIFY?

There is a new movement in Washington. Rep. Patrick McHenry, a Republican from North Carolina, is calling for Obama's czars to testify about their "authority and responsibilities" in the executive branch. The main point of controversy stems from the fact that these czars do not have to be confirmed by the Senate like cabinet members do.

McHenry says, "If the czars have high-level, decision-making authority as their titles would indicate, then it is my concern that their appointment without Senate approval represents a circumvention of our Constitutionally-mandated confirmation process."

Most of the public doesn't understand this ... but these czars have the ability to direct the expenditure of billions of dollars in taxpayer funds ... and they're not answerable to the Congress?

Bring on the hearings.

CAMERAS IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Lancaster, Pennsylvania is about to become the Big Brother of the United States. The community is installing 165 surveillance cameras, making their system larger than systems in cities like Boston or San Francisco.

So what are the people of Lancaster upset about?

The fact that these cameras will be monitored by ordinary citizens rather than the police. They will be monitored 18 to 24 hours a day by the Lancaster Community Safety Coalition, which is a nonprofit board that works with police.

Now, all of the sudden, the people are concerned about their privacy. They aren't concerned when it is the government monitoring their communities ....

Is there a problem here? Only if these cameras can observe what people are doing in private. If these cameras are monitoring the streets and sidewalks then the people monitoring these cameras can't see a thing they wouldn't see if they were standing there on that very same street. I don't really see the problem here.

The Cato Institute has some excellent facts on key questions about the Democrat plans healthcare reform.

Karl Rove: "Obama's Big Political Gamble."

How about that hijacking of a passenger plane in Mexico City yesterday?

If you didn't get to read this column by Michael Barone, it's worth it: The convenient fantasies of President Obama.

President Obama had some harsh thoughts on the current state of journalism. I'm afraid he may be exactly right.

For all the talk of bi-partisanship, Barack Obama hasn't met with GOP leaders about healthcare since April.

How's this statistic for ya: In the next 16 days, Congress will spend more than $3 trillion in taxpayer money.

Tell me when to act surprised. The taxpayers probably aren't going to recover a significant portion of the $81 billion in auto industry bailouts.

Honduras won't return ousted former president Zelaya to the presidency, despite US sanctions. Good for them.

Recent Gallop Polls show that the economy and healthcare top the list of American concerns.

James Carville explains how Barack Obama can avoid the midterm blues.

The dollars is in decline. In fact, it has reached its lowest point in over a year. Could our borrowing and spending habits have anything to do with that?

A federal survey shows that the recession may be over.

ACORN workers in Miami accused of falsifying hundreds of voter registrations cards? Color me surprised.

Rep. Steny Hoyer blames the lamestream media, saying that it "misrepresented" the town hall meetings of August and only focused on the minority opposition.

The EPA has decided that there is such thing as a TV that is too big.

So what is Van Jones up to, now that he is no longer Obama's green jobs czar? Don't worry. He'll be taken care of.

Cass Sunstein ... another Obama nominee receiving scrutiny from conservatives.

Anti-Obama posters turn up near a government school in Florida and parents are upset that their children have been exposed to such hatred.

Men are pigs. All men. No exceptions.

Truther alert! Actor Charlie Sheen is demanding a meeting with President Obama to discuss his belief that 9/11 was an inside job.

If you had to guess the three most popular books in the library at Guantanamo Bay ... what would they be?

It was incredible, but even though I'm a Boortz blast subscriber, I can't find it on the site. Neil mentioned that he'd post it on Townhall.com, but it's not there either. I've googled it to death, and can't find it, and my young nieces would be interested in this unknown bit of history. Please post it somewhere for the public good!
