Yesterday I (@talkmaster) suggested on Twitter that someone should do a poll: Which would you rather have? (1) Swine Flu, or (2) ObamaCare. Here are some responses:

@rachelburks - I will take my chances with the swine flu.

@shizelbs - Swine flue without a doubt.

@ContractHdwGirl - Definetly the swine flu.

@hoss7071 - I would rather have the swine flu. Unlike ObamaCare, swine flu is something I have a chance of getting rid of.

I loved our marginally-intelligent HHS Secretary telling us yesterday that the Swine Flu is so dangerous because it is a new strain and most people don't have immunity. Well ... here's a flash for you. Every year we have a new flu strain and every year people don't have immunity. Duhhhhhh.

I'll be constantly throwing out tweets during the show. Some will make sense.

What others are saying

  • What about her comment
that people were DYING for news about the vacine?
  • Obama Care!
Gimme Obamacare! Anything the insurance companies and Republicans don't like can't be all bad!!!!
  • Neither
Neither. The real choice, will be when
Americans have had enough of their over-
seers, and go to Washington, to install
a gov. that works for them, not the other way around.
    Tears in our forefathers eyes...
  • Swine flu Unknowns
One thing the news is not reporting is that this swine flu is very close to that strain from the 1920's. So much so that those folks born before 1957 carry an immunity. This means that unlike other flu strains, this one is more deadly to the younger generations.
  • Let's see... the flu is a mild strain unlikely to kill the vast majority of Americans or cost them in lost wages. Can we say the same for Obama-Care?
  • Swine Flu vs ObamaCare
I'll take swine flu anyday. The way I think of it is "would I sacrifice something of mine today to save my children from a certain future burden?" Damn Right I would!! I would rather fight swine flu myself right now with the current health care system and have a much better chance of survival than burden my unsuspecting children with the financial yoke of ObamaCare and an inferior system. I'm starting to believe that Obama and all the Dems that are proposing all this crap are planning on creating an American Government "Aristocracy" so they will never have to be treated under such a health system. I don't see any of them volunteering to give up their current health care insurance/providers in favor of the "Government Option".
  • The fact that it primarily affects young people suggests to me that older folks do have some kind of immunity. Seems I heard that this is a variant of an earlier strain. Yes, I will take the flu over Obamacare. It is not certain death.
  • tweets
I'll be constantly throwing out tweets during the show. Some will make sense.

maybe NONE of them will make any sense. it reminds me of that commercial were the TEENS are complaining about their parents tweeting them. the look of disgust by the young ones over somebody that old using tweeter, is something like my look of disgust over somebody that old using tweeter.

you'll have to enlarge this photo. but its got it right.
  • Very Reliable
Much like the Iraq War, republicans seem to be relying on top reliable information. What better way to judge an illness and a federal bill then asking people on Twitter. Way to go republicans. You earned those seats in Congress
