There are two months left in the remaining budget year and the federal deficit has already hit a record $1.27 trillion. Most Americans have no idea what this is going to mean for the future of their children.

Senator Debbie Stabenow (a Democrat) says that she can and none of it has been spent.

Just the other day, Arlen Specter caught hell at a town hall for supporting Obama's healthcare plan. Now he is saying that those people in opposition to the plan are "not necessarily representative of America." He hopes.

Oh and by the way, the people who attended that town hall with Arlen Specter were an "almost entirely white and irritable crowd," according to the New York Times.

The White House weighs in on the swastika painted on Georgia Congressman David Scott's office sign.

The press is eager to report on every incident of violence or harsh rhetoric at any event protesting ObamaCare. What was the standard, thought, when those violent words and actions were aimed at George W. Bush. Answer: Largely ignored.

In his healthcare to win health insurance reform, Barack Obama has focused on winning over the middle class ... but what about the seniors?

Speaking of seniors. Obama got in a little trouble with the AARP for claiming that the AARP supported his healthcare plans.

You need a photo ID to attend a Democrat healthcare town hall, but you don't need a photo ID to vote the Democrat into office. Interesting.

Barack Obama says that he has never supported a single-payer system. Does he seriously think we are that stupid? There are videos of him saying so.

The Democrats may not bring back the Fairness Doctrine in its original form, but let's see what rules and regulations they can conjure up under a Chief Diversity Officer.

What is wrong with this statement from Barack Obama: "46 million of our fellow citizens have no coverage."

Robert Gibbs says that a lot of people were probably "disappointed" that Barack Obama didn't get yelled at during his healthcare town hall the other day in New Hampshire.

Cuba can't even provide its citizens with enough toilet paper, and yet the lamestream media in America just marvels at their "free" healthcare system.

When the lawmakers re-approach the issue of cap-and-trade, which industry is going to be affect first by regulations ... the airline industry.

Hugo Chavez supporters have found their latest target: the "bourgeois" game of golf.

Obamacare vs. United States Post Office.

Oh, so it was Bush who caused the economy to tank. It had nothing to do with the mortgage crisis, the FannieMae/FreddieMac fiasco, or any of that, right?

Then tell me -- exactly what did George W. Bush DO that tanked the economy? I'm all ears.

I guess it was a little too uncomfortable. Grassley said it could be interpreted and IMPLEMENTED in such a way that would be harmful to the elderly.

    ROFLOL
  • That big $1.27 trillion deficit is okay, it’s a one time thing.
They’ll suddenly be able to control spending next year, they promise.

Of course Debbie does, they’re bulldozing Detroit already to make room for wind farms and all those green jobs.

Of course they aren’t representative of America, Arlen, and you have the safest seat in the Senate. Keep telling yourself that, Arlen.

Hussein AARP lie backfired, what a pro. The msm barely noticed.

The photo ID adds write themselves, could you imagine the msm uproar if it were the GOP?

Yes, hussein obviously thinks there are enough people that stupid for him to get away with it. The msm won’t be calling him on it.

Around 16 million of those “46 million of our fellow citizens,” are illegal aliens. Does that mean amnesty and citizenship for all is next?

And these are the “reality based” people. Cuba is farming with oxen and Venezuela is having to import coffee. The dp will play it off as ‘eco-friendly’ here as well, when we ‘progress’ as far backwards as they have. Like I’ve said, the dp is going to give us the same sh*t sandwich and tell us it’s Bar-B-Q. We’ll be plowing with mules though, like dad did when he was a kid. Progressing to the 1930’s.

Energy policy affects everything. The dp has mistaken our economic lifeblood for some addictive substance in it.
  • Corrections
    Neal,
Minor correction to: "when those violent words and actions were aimed at George W. Bush. Answer: Largely ignored."

The real answer: Largely advocated by the leftwing MSM.

    @3mbw:

What's the area code of your cave? Nothing erodes credibility more than fatuous denial. Your god-like astroturf Obamessiah's popularity took a nosedive:

"Public support for the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats has fallen to a new low with just 42% of U.S. voters now in favor of it. That’s down five points from two weeks ago and down eight points from six weeks ago."
    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/trust_on_issues

    Approval at 48%. Lowest yet.
    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/08/12/rasmussen-on-obama-52-disapprove/

The honeymoon is over, at least with the duped Obama voters. Crissy Matthews still gets a thrill up his leg, though.
  • 46 million fellow citizens
Um, could be that 5-12 million of those are ILLEGAL ALIENS!!!

Of course he wants to give them all amnesty. BEFORE closing the border.

psssst jose hurry up amigo get across the border the big o is gonna make us all citizens
  • Trying one more time to make this point
    Beacon:

"...image of a swastika at these town hall rallies and that one had a big red "X" over it. This, for most thinking people, would indicate that the person who made the sign believes this current administration is going down a similar path that Nazi Germany did..."
Exactly. Nancy Pelosi pointed out that the protesters were calling the reform Nazism, and her comment was deliberately skewed by Limbaugh (which was picked up by Neal and others) as if she said the person holding the sign was a Nazi and the "libs are calling us Nazis!!!"

It's all subterfuge with the goal of muddying the debate.

"...Bush "went soft" on him during the second term."
  • Drudge reports unemployment up, retail sales down
3mbw, as usual, throwing out disinformation with nothing to back it up. Also, shows no signs of the BDS easing up. Actually, looks worse than ever.
  • 3mbw
Speaking of neo-cons, all is not rosy in neo-con land today. Former "Vice-president" and would-be dictator Cheney is now complaining that Bush "went soft" on him during the second term.
    By 3mbw

Seeing how Bush went on a spending frenzy at the end ALONG with the Dems in Congress, he is probably right!

Wake up 3, wake up!!! Your buddy's poll numbers are sinking! His associations with groups with SEIU/ACORN, etc., are gonna sink him. Plus his saying one thing and doing another!
  • President Obama's credibility
"President Obama's credibility may just be starting to slip."

Maybe in neo-con fantasy land, but in the real world he's just as credible as ever, probably moreso given the positve movement in the economy.

Speaking of neo-cons, all is not rosy in neo-con land today. Former "Vice-president" and would-be dictator Cheney is now complaining that Bush "went soft" on him during the second term.
  • Obama lied
What? A career politician lied? Are you sure? Here's a tip. Politicians only lie when their lips are moving.
  • Betty you are so right.
Way too many deadbeats out there.

The obesity problem in America is I bet the #1 reason why our life expectancy is below most of the European nations. Not because of their health care.

Also, they count deceased babies differently, which skews the figures.

I know the left calls us greedy selfish pigs, but think of it this way: aren't they being selfish expecting everyone else to take care of the so-called less fortunate? They have no right putting this crap on us.

LOVED your fart crossways remark! I know it's not funny over all but sometimes I feel we have to laugh to keep from crying.

And this is just the beginning. Social Security is next on the "reform" block. Let's see how much worse they can make that.
  • Credibility
President Obama's credibility may just be starting to slip.

It won't be long before it is so blatantly obvious that even the MSM won't be able to ignore it.

    And the sooner the better.
  • Liberal Fascism
During the Bush years the DOW actually went up to 13,930.010 at one point (in 2007, which is when the liberals claim our country was doing SOOOOOOO bad under Bush).

Let me also state that the swastika spraypainted on the wall here in Georgia was pointless and cowardly.
    BUT
The supposed swastikas being seen at the rallies are lies. There has been one documented image of a swastika at these town hall rallies and that one had a big red "X" over it. This, for most thinking people, would indicate that the person who made the sign believes this current administration is going down a similar path that Nazi Germany did:
Pre-war, I might add. In the 1930's the Nazis instituted several different wars against tobacco, fatty people/food, and environmental harm. Sound familiar?
Read Liberal Fascism and visit the author Jonah Goldberg's blog. This is happening NOW.
That sign was a protest by someone who probably read that book.
  • AARP Support of Gov't-run Healthcare
I saw an AARP TV ad today which encouraged people to not let insurance companies stop "government health-care reform." An ambulance, sirens and lights on, was trying to evade a bunch of black limousines (the insurance bad guys). The narrator explained that insurance companies were trying to impede the government from "reforming health care."

I guess that, in spite of denials, the AARP DOES support Obama's plan. They just lie about it when it's convenient.
  • @Bill on Bush
"Yes I miss them too 5% unemployment DOW 12000 plus"

Too bad Bush ruined those numbers and got us into an economic mess.

If the Republicans had won last November, the Dow would be about 2400 about now.
  • Bush years
No one said anything about MISSING the Bush years, give me a break. But the protesters then were not demeaned like the protesters now.

Since the polls show the majority of Americans are against health care, I would say the sentiment from today's protesters are indeed representative of America. There are some extremes but then there are on the left, which is how swastikas get painted and tshirt sellers (was that Doc) get beat up.

You will always have those problems with large groups get together and some just can't wait to get on tv!

Complaining about these protesters is just as bad as not liking the president just because he is black!
  • Helthcare
Let me see seniors are considered villians because they get medicare which is a government run program. This program has been in effect 44 yrs. I am 65 and have just gotten on medicare. That means I have been paying Medicare premiums for 44 yrs and not collecting any benefits from it. I still pay $96 a month for medicare prem which is taken out of my SS check which I have been paying taxes for since I was 18yrs old. I also have to have a supplemental policy to pay the 20% that medicare doesn't pay which is $127 a month and I also am required to have a drug plan which is another $25 a month. Would be more if I required expensive drugs. Do you actually think things would be better if everyone were required to have gov health care and it was paid for by only a few of the taxpayers not every taxpayer like SS and medicare and if they cut billions out of Medicare that means they are giving away what was meant for the elderly to a bunch of deadbeats. Yes I said deadbeats. Are they going to require drug tests for everyone and what are they going to do about the addicts? Will they crack down on these people like they want to crack down on the fast food junkies? I doubt it after all these poor folks are just victims while the rest of us are greedy selfish pigs. If they want to reform health care divide all the uninsured among the ins companies and pay a portion of their premium. Or else offer catastrophic coverage at a low premium. If univesal care is approved most people will go to the Doctor everytime they get a fart crossways and the people who really need medical care will be given a pain pill to keep them from realizing they are dying for lack of care.
  • Marginal results for marginal people
I love the way the Left tries to marginalize everyone who questions the validity of the healthcare bill or any other legislation proposals from this bunch. Go ahead, knock yourselves out. Yuk it up. The Conservatives are referred to as 'having no ideas of their own'. Actually, it comes down to not being in support of more government control of our lives and our money. That's the original big idea. It comes from the original Document, a little paper we like to call, 'The Constitution'. Enjoy the limelight Democrats, those days will be ending soon. You got your 15 minutes and it isn't pretty.
  • If the Census Bureau enumerations can be considered accurate
There are approximately 46 million without medical insurance. No information on how many of those are actually in need of medical attention (the human body tends toward health all by itself - a fact the doctors are reluctant to mention). Also no information as to how many are taxpayers.

Approximately 10 million of the 46 million are not US citizens. No information as to how many are "illegal" aliens as opposed to resident aliens (students, work visa, etc.) Again, no data as to how many are taxpayers.

ISTR a study done that showed that "preventive" healthcare didn't lower healthcare costs and also didn't increase "healthiness" (don't remember how they characterised "healthiness").
  • The best you can do?
I don't mean to parse words, but is that quote from Obama about "single-payer" systems the best that the WSJ can do? He said "If I were to start...from scratch." IF I WERE... but he's not. A conjecture about what might have been if the circumstances were different and what is being dealt with and proposed in reality are two different things. That's a long way from endorsing a "single-payer" system.

Honestly, I don't doubt the Obama might think "single-payer" might be the best choice, but if so, there must be a more damning quote from him. If not, then they're just groping for something to paint Obama as two-faced.
  • Wow - two new trolls - whatever did we do to deserve them?
Good at calling people names, not real good at issues or substantive discussion.
  • Bush years
Yes I miss them too 5% unemployment DOW 12000 plus
  • Numbers game
10% unemploment vs 45/47 million uninsured. What do you guys think the real numbers should be?
  • what surprises me the most
is that this fontana guy actually figured out how to post comments.
  • Scott's unwanted swastika
First, the coward who did this needs to turn himself in.
Second, has the White House weighed in on the union thugs who beat up a black man selling "don't tread on me" t-shirts? Just wondering.
  • "Affordable" health care
What no one is saying, although it is obvious, is that health care doesn't need to be expensive.

Instead of a new pacemaker...here is an aspirin. Now get out of my hospital.

See, instead of spending $100,000 on a procedure, we spent 50 cents on an aspirin.

If your goal is simply the reduction in costs, and NOT the health of the patients, it is easy to cut costs.

The other question is, will the followers of our "beloved ruler" get better health care than non-believers?

Ordinarily that would be unthinkable. However, Obamas croneyistic policies with Chrysler would be an indication that there are two methods of treatment. One for the regular people. (The Eskimo's have end of life care too. The old folks walk off into the storm to die.) Or, the elite treatment, where surgery is actually performed.

I thought that "Life, Liberty, and pursuit of happiness" were rights? What "right" does the government have to terminate or deny treatments? What right does it have to OUTLAW those people that have been denied treatment to get treatment elsewhere? Government gets its power from the people. We OWN the government, it does not own us.
You're sick, have a pain pill.
  • Wishing the Bush years were still here!
Makes me pine away for those good ole Bush years! You know when money grew on trees, wars were a dime a dozen, when losing 11 billion in cash in Iraq it was considered chump change! When we had the 1st president in history with a MBA who knew all about big business! Yea! Those were the years!
  • Town Hall Attendees
I agree with Specter, these people atre not representative of America. They are a very vocal, loud, paranoid, group who have been encouraged and egged on by right wing media that has filled their heads with distortions and lies.

And I don't blame them for checking ID's and taking whatever security steps are required to insure the safety of everyone there. If somehow we could keep the zombies away, perhaps a legitimate discussion could be held and those with concerns could be heard.
  • rEPUBLICANS ARE NERDS
Wah wah wah, republicans must have great ideas and that is why only adulterers won elections recently. haha. bunch of dorks, have fun at work, I am heading to get some sun!!!
