I think the amazing story of the week is the panicked reaction of the looters to the way their representatives have been treated at town hall meetings around the country. I mean, how DARE these people question the ruling class? Don't they realize they lost the election? The Democrats will remind them of that at any opportunity. The theory is that if you lose the election you are supposed to shut the hell up, sit back and let the victors do pretty much anything they want to you.

Let's draw a parallel. A man attacks a woman. She fights back like hell. Finally the man subdues her and starts pulling off her clothes. As he tries to rape her she starts fighting again. "Hold on there," the rapist yells. "I won ... you lost. Now you're supposed to let me do anything I want to you and you can't do a damned thing about it."

The Democrats - Pelosi, Boxer, et all - have been calling the people who show up at the town hall meetings to protest ObamaCare "thugs." Well, I guess they've decided it's time to thrown in some thugs of their own. Now if you're a Democrat - a looter - and you need some thugs, where are you going to go? You got it! There, that wasn't all that hard, was it? You go to the unions? What better place to find some thugs than a union hall?

And so ... what do we have now? We have violence breaking out at these town hall meetings. And trust me on this one .. the Democrats and most of the media is going to make sure that the people protesting ObamaCare take the blame for the disruptions. Certainly not the unions.

Believe this .. unions are more than a little pissed right now. When their hero was inaugurated on January 20th they thought it would just be a matter of weeks ... a few months at most ... and they would have their forced unionization bill. Yeah - the so-called "card check" bill. The thugs couldn't wait to whisper sweet nothings into the ears of workers faced with the decision of whether or not to sign that union card.

"Pssst. Buddy. No, don't look at me, just listen. That card you have? You really do need to sign it and turn it in. That's a mighty nice new car you have parked outside. New tires are expensive, you know. And it would really be a shame if your wife had any problems the next time she went to the Safeway for some groceries. You know what to do."

Well, the union's big summer didn't happen, and they're itching for some action. They know that they won't get any action on card check as long as the Democrats are tied up trying to take over our health care system. So maybe, just maybe, if the unions would help out the looters, the looters will return the favor. So if you are planning on attending a town hall meeting on healthcare any time soon, be on the lookout for union thugs. It's always nice to have something to look forward to you .. and coming soon to a town hall meeting near you, your favorite local union sweethearts! John Sweeney, the president of the AFL-CIO has issued his call to arms. He wants union members to attend healthcare town hall meetings in order to counteract the "right-wing 'Tea Party Patriots.'" These are all of you evil, well-dressed protestors who believe in smaller government or the freedom to choose your own doctors. Oh .. and just what do you think that Sweeney means by "counteract?"

Sweeney wrote a memo to his minions saying, "The principal battleground in the campaign will be town hall meetings and other gatherings with members of Congress in their home districts ... We want your help to organize major union participation to counter the right-wing 'Tea-Party Patriots' who will try to disrupt those meetings, as they've been trying to do to meetings for the last month."

Yeah .. it's the ugly "Tea Party Patriots" that are going to try to disrupt the meetings, certainly not the unions, right? Perhaps you might like to look at this item from Michelle Malkin's blog. It would appear that a St. Louis town hall meeting yesterday the union members showed up ... the union members were allowed in ... but those who weren't exactly friendly to the Democrats takeover of almost 20% of our economy were left out. My guess is that if you were to check local coverage you might see that it was all the protestor's fault. I understand that we can't know for certain just what happened in these meetings ... but based on past experience, what would you guess? Would you believe that the ObamaCare protestors caused the violence, or union members?

Here's something else for you to think about: We have one Jim Messina, the deputy chief of staff to President Obama. Talking to Democrats yesterday said "if you get hit, we will hit back twice as heard." Well, the Democrats have been taking a hit at their own hall meetings. Are they now hitting back twice as hard?

It doesn't help that the Secretary Treasurer of the AFL-CIO issued the following statement about the town hall meetings. You'll love this.

Every American has the inalienable right to participate in our democratic process. Our politics is passionate, heartfelt and often loud -- as was the founding of our nation. But that is not what the corporate-funded mobs are engaging in when they show up to disrupt town halls held by members of Congress.

Major health care reform is closer than ever to passage and it is no secret that special interests want to weaken or block it. These mobs are not there to participate. As their own strategy memo states, they have been sent by their corporate and lobbyist bankrollers to disrupt, heckle and block meaningful debate. This is a desperation move, meant to slow the momentum for change.

Mob rule is not democracy. People have a democratic right to express themselves and our elected leaders have a right to hear from their constituents -- not organized thugs whose sole purpose is to shut down the conversation and attempt to scare our leaders into inaction.

We call on the insurance companies, the lobbyists and the Republican leaders who are cheering them on to halt these 'Brooks Brothers Riot' tactics. Health care is a crucial issue and everyone - on all sides of the issue - deserves to be heard.

These are the tactics of despots. They'll pay grand lip service to the idea of free speech .. but there's always a "but" thrown in. The looters have no real answers for the people who are protesting ObamaCare, so they start making references to mob rule. We're nothing but "organized thugs" who want to shut down conversation? Are they kidding? Shut down conversation? In a few paragraphs you're going to have the opportunity to click on a link to watch a video of a recent AARP meeting. As soon as the people in the audience try to have a conversation with the meeting organizer, she packs up and leaves! Just WHO is trying to shut down conversation?

Oh ... and before we move on: Isn't it just precious to hear a union leader talking about "organized thugs?" The history of unionism in this country is a history of organized thuggery. Then he says that "mob rule is not democracy." Sorry, but that is EXACTLY what democracy is. Why do you think they call themselves Democrats? A lynch mob is mob rule. Right? Well, a lynch mob is also a prime example of democratic action. One man wants to live to see his day in court. Thirty men want him hung ... NOW. OK, let's have a vote! Wow! Imagine that! The vote was 30 to1. Get the rope! There's your democracy in action. In a democracy the rule of law means zip. That's also what it meant to Obama when he was manhandling the GM bankruptcy. Hope your memories are that long.

But it's not just the AFL-CIO. The Service Employees International Union is also summoning the troops. A spokeswoman for the unions says that it is "unleashing the purple people" in order to "challenge the radical fringe" that is disrupting these town hall meetings. The spokeswoman also says union members are not there to "talk to the crazies." We need to "reclaim our democracy!" and blah, blah, blah, blah.

I could rant on this for hours. The looters are in panic mode. The people are learning more and more about their takeover of health care. The people saw right through that attempt to change the topic from health CARE reform to health INSURANCE reform. The people in this country see the huge deficits coming. They know instinctively that Barack Obama cannot promise more and more health care to more and more people with fewer doctors and nurses and NOT resort to rationing and higher taxes. We don't like it ... and we're speaking out.

What others are saying

  • What's this about the evils of organization?
There has been a media blitz attacking a few justifiably angry senior citizens who might have (but not likely) read a web site as "manufactured outrage" organized by "powerful special interests". As facts arise, we learn that, for the vast majority of protesters, isn't true.

Obama is on the offensive himself with nationally televised sound-byte ads of his own.

    My question is this:

What do we do about the "manufactured support & promotion" of these Socialist programs organized by REAL "powerful special interests" (The NEA, Unions in general, the AFL-CIO, the SPLC, AARP [the organization], NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, ad infinitum) who have piles of REAL assets at their disposal, not to mention the vast majority of Federally "regulated" [monopoly] TV band airwaves?

The sword cuts both ways, Lefties--& the way I see it, you're by far the bigger hypocrites in this melee.
  • Translated Healthcare Bill Paragraphs into English
Page 30 Section123- A government Committee decides treatments and benefits.
Page 42 A Health Commissioner chooses our benefits. No choice for us.
Page 50 Section 152-HEALTHCARE will be provided to all non US Citizens illegal or otherwise.
Page 58-A National ID Card will be issued and government has real time access to our finances.
Page 59 Lines 21-24-Government has direct access to our bank accounts for electronic fund transfers.
AND INCREDIBLY IT GOES ON AND ON.
NEXT THEY WILL NATIONALIZE OUR RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS AS THEY HAVE DONE IN ARGENTINA.

Isn't it great that these peace loving, tolerant, non discriminate democrats who would never hurt or judge anyone are trying to use fear to control people. Wait, "using fear to control people..." correct me if I am wrong (I'm a conservative, I MUST be) but isn't that the definition of terrorism?
  • ScottQ
You are right, my friend! I couldn't have said it better myself!
  • How to win
Yes, the union thugs are coming out to try to silence us. They will intimidate, harrass, and when that doesn't work they will resort to violence.

But our solution is simple. Numbers.

    WE OUTNUMBER THEM!

There are FAR more of US than there are of them. When a couple dozen union thugs are looking at 500 or 1000 of US, they're going to lose their thirst for a fight.

    SHOW UP!

GO to the Town Hall meetings, the rallies, and anywhere else where this abomination of a 'health care' law is being discussed. Turn out in numbers so VAST that we can't be intimidated and we can't be ignored!

Take the time off from work. Maybe it hurts, but DO it. Whatever it takes. Wherever you have to go. DO IT!

Don't slack off and let others do the work for you. WE ALL HAVE TO SHOW UP! Every last one of us.

If we do, we will WIN.

This is war. War demands courage. War demands sacrifice.

    Step up, America!
  • ObamoThugs
Said it before and I'll say it again:
The reason there's a Second Amendment is becoming more apparent every day.
  • Re: Congressmen are not our leaders.
ScottQ, You are sooo right. Semantics ain't just semantics. The words and phrases we use have great meaning. Obama's words are sometimes veiled threats and other times blatant. Conservatives need to quit playing the pc game and call his platform what it is. That was why Sarah P. was (and is) so popular. She, unlike McCain, called it like it was.
  • Democracy =
Mob rule and that is why our country was established as a REPUBLIC. In the days of our founding fathers democracy was a foul word.
  • @mattib and racism
Is that why we opposed the same policies from Billary?

Oh wait, he was the FIRST black President hahahaha
  • War is coming...
I truely believe this will ultimately lead to the next Civil War. Lines are being drawn in the sand. Thank God our military is 70% conservative. I really hope it doesnt come down to that but these clowns are going to hang on to power any way they can. Only way to rid ourselves of them is going to be force.
  • "As their own strategy memo states, they have been sent by their corporate and lobbyist bankrollers to disrupt, heckle and block meaningful debate"

I live in California and no longer have a job. How do I get on the payroll to disrupt townhall meetings?
  • Democracy?
Reclaim our democracy? And here all this time I thought we were a REPUBLIC ever since I learned the Pledge Of Allegiance as a child. Can someone please tell me when our country legally changed from being a Republic to a Democracy?
  • Same as before
When the union shows up people will get hurt. Bank on it! If they show up they will pick a fight. When the union gets involved like this they are nothing but a legal gang. I know.....

  • send 'em to........................
if they send one of ours to the hospital....we send one of theirs to the morgue.......

  • Mob Rule Will Backfire on the Democrats
I love the AFL-CIO official. I guess it is okay to have organized thugs whose sole purpose is to shut down the people who have a democratic right to express themselves.

Like I say, don't confuse a liberal with facts or logic. I really believe that this will back fire when some union thug slugs a 78 year old man and it gets internet coverage.
  • Congressmen are not our leaders...
...they are our representatives. A leader shows the way. A leader directs when no way is clear. The executive branch has the leadership mandate. Congress is a body of representatives. A representative's mandate is to execute on the will of the constituents. When we start calling congressmen leaders we perpetuate the myth that those in government are our rulers and we are the subjects. In the US, it is exactly the opposite...or at least that is how it was originally set up. Control the language and you control the discussion.
Another language problem is the use of the term 'Health Care System'. We don't have a health care system. We have a health care market. As a system, health care in America is disorganized and inconsistent. But it is not a system. It only resembles a system because of the way government has regulated it and the because of the way insurance is controlled by laws. If we keep calling it a system then we will eventually lose the debate because the best solution for a disorganized, inconsistent system is stronger central management. As a market, health care service can be improved by allowing the market to address the gaps. Markets are fluid and need driven, systems are rigid and are constructed to meet needs at the time of construction and with a predefined set of assumptions. Markets change with need and circumstances, systems do not change easily if at all and often become obstacles when changes inevitably occur.
    Control the language people.
  • Fairly balanced?
I read the article from the St. Louis paper. I also noticed that it makes it seem like the violence was on the part of the anti-obamacare crowd.

But if you look at the arrests. Of the 6 arrested, 2 were pro-obamacare activists, 1 was a reporter, 2 assaulted an anti-obamacare protester.

The only one not specified was a woman for a different assault.

So from my point of view, maybe 1 of 6 arrests may have been an anti-obamacare protester.

    That's balanced
  • Thank God I live in the South
For the most part, Southern states have Right to Work laws. These laws allow people the option to not join the union if they don't want to. Most Northern states have closed shop laws that require a worker to join the union if he or she wishes to work there. Once in the union you do what the union bosses tell you to do, whether it be standing a picket line in front of your company or busting heads at a town hall meeting. Unions are a scourge on this country and one more reason that the South needs to rethink seccession.
  • Another double standard
When liberals and Unions protest or hi-jack a meeting or event, they are "exercising their civil liberties". When anyone else takes a page from "their" playbook they are "unruly mobs" or "astroturf", and cannot be an organic grass-roots movement. (At least according to our "leaders" in the House and Senate.) A non-violent protest is just that, and is permitted by the Constitiution. These people are not trashing the city like protesters at the RNC, G-7, and other events. Why are they being painted as the same?
  • Union Thugs
Union Thugs = Obama's version of the SS

You feel safe now? Don't you just love the hope and change? Aren't you proud of yourself for voting Obama?
  • Beat Down
Next thing will be that civilian national security force. We must protect our idols. Hope and Chain's!
  • What the Dems said then...
When the Republicans ruled Congress, the Democrats said that the Republicans had NO MANDATE and that since 40+% of the people voted for Dems then they needed a seat at the table.

The sad thing is that way too many Republicans bought into it. Now, the Dems are in power and everybody else is supposed to just sit down, shut up, and hold on.

Give me a big time freaking break.

What say we all play by the same rules? After all, don't the Dems want a 'level playing field'... what a joke.
  • MikeS
Why? That is exactly what they are doing to this country. Rape has more than one definition: an act of plunder, violent seizure, or abuse; despoliation; violation: the rape of the countryside.

  • Bigots All
The imperial government with their union & media minions and DNC bigots for some reason cannot believe that citizens would actually dare to stand up against the crap they want us to "accept" because the imperial leader wants it to be so.

I have attended TEA parties, attended and will continue to attend "Town Hall" meetings, I absolutely will not allow the thugs in Washington stop me from standing up for what I believe. I am not against health care reform I am against the bill under consideration, if Washington does not like that too bad....I am not alone in my belief and I don't need anyone else to tell me what I think...I have managed to do that on my own for years and will continue to do so.

Citizens of all political affiliations want their views to be heard, they are tired of the imperial government doing lip service and nothing more.

Is this healthcare insurance reform a start to what will end as Soylent Green?
  • pres. obama & mayor daily, chicago's shinning example
I thought the unions health care program was exempt from the "health reforms" that are being proposed. So the unions have no dog in this fight and should not even be there.Just proves that their just obamas hired leg-breakers.What next? Send in the teachers union to hold our children hostage? oh wait thats already happening.

Story from the St Louis paper seems fairly balanced, most interesting is the congressman's statement putting the blame on organized protest from the healthcare lobby- no supporting evidence of course. Some of the comments at the end make interesting reading too.

  • Obama Care protests
What no one is saying is that many of the so-called "mob" members are loyal Democrat voters, pardon the stereotype, older citizens, older veterans, etc. that are raising cain about this. The fact that these elitists have to bring in union thugs and use Chicago-style politics to demonize the "great unwashed" (of which I'm a member) is telling.

Why can we not just give the Northeast to the liberals, let them have their Obama Care and leave us the hell alone??? Change? Hell, that's all I got...and I'm fixin' to lose that!!
  • Just in case Y'all don't understand it, the rule of law means that you get to arbitrarily add new “Rights” and Immorally steal from a few to outright buy the votes of many.
And for reference, there is no clearly spelled out right to healthcare in the Constitution.

Just like there are no other rights [clearly spelled out] to claim the property and time of others for that supposed “right”.
  • Tea Parties
We have been challenged and the challenge has been accepted. I’ve been to three Tea Parties in only one was a politician allowed to speak. The people that attend these gatherings are the ones that pay the taxes, employ people, bleed for this country, and are pissed off in the direction that Washington politicians are taking this great country right and left. We are an incredibly powerful constituency and if you’re in the political “business” not a group to have against you.
  • Unions and the Obama Nation
Except for the lunar connection, there is a great book -- COLONY 13 -- that seems to be coming true. I think the futurist that predicts THE GREATEST DEPRESSION is also correct. We are in terrible mess.
