OK .. here's that first video I promised you. This video takes on even more importance in light of the violence at recent town hall meetings

The Democrats and now union officials are up in arms over these organized corporate thugs who are ruining their precious town hall meetings. Take a look at this video of an AARP meeting about healthcare. I love it. The AARP crowd actually thought they were going to going to walk into a room full of people who wanted nothing more than for the government to take complete charge of their healthcare. That's not the way it turned out. The AARP meeting organizer starts out by saying "I think we can all agree that our present health care system is not sustainable .... And I think we can all agree that ... blah blah blah." She starts out the meeting telling the audience what they think. As soon as the AARP lady hears the first dissenting word she starts to loose it. In short order she actually walks out and cancels her own meeting because the audience (with an average age of at least 65) insists on asking questions and voicing their opposing opinions to the Democrat healthcare plan. You can watch this snotty woman unplugging the microphone and taking it with her as she leaves. Watch the video... and then tell me .... are these organized corporate insurance thugs? Do these look like Brooks Brothers protestors? Or is there some slim chance that what you're seeing here are Americans who are genuinely concerned about the future of their country and their healthcare?

What others are saying

  • AARP doesn't care about old folks!
First the lady from AARP says she is there to listen to the people, and then SHE tells THEM what they all can agree on. That's not listening to the people! She was there for one reason, to promote Obama's health care scheme and not only were the people there not buying it, they felt angry and betrayed by AARP for even considering this horrible plan. They know that if this plan passes, there WILL BE rationing of health care. And the elderly will bear the brunt of it. They're old, not stupid! What I do not understand is WHY AARP IS SUPPORTING IT?!? Something stinks! (Not me, either!)
  • no more propaganda please
Ok, the conservative talk needs to go back to talk and stop the propaganda.
For all of you who can't tell the difference, You know its propaganda when you don't hear any pro's and con's

If you think that everything you hear on the radio is objective then you are being duped by "entertainment radio".

I am all for calling the crap when it needs to be called out but this fever pitch paranoia from the conservatives is just too much.

Don't you remember how silly it looked when the democrats were crying over everything? Time to look in the mirror friends.
  • Yeah How about those Corporate Bailouts?
Every government interference in the economy consists of giving an unearned benefit, extorted by force, to some men at the expense of others."
Yes the corporations were up in arms literally as they helfd theirs out for trillion dollar wall street bailouts. You can't have it both ways fascists. Now the hired corporate stooges are posting Ann Rand stating that for them to pay taxes is agiving of unearned benefit from them to others. Gime Bailouts but don't gime no taxes. Protect me with armed goon squads known as the military so I can loot the third world. The free market according to Wall Street Reich wingers. Please be sure to hurl personal insults at me for writing this corporate stooges. Personal insults are all you have to divert attention from the fact that I am telling the truth.
  • How do evil insurance companies make a profit?
"By denying health care." (?!) Yea right, that's how a capitalist company gets more customers. And oil companies make profits by not distributing oil, and airlines make profits by not flying passengers, and grocery stores make profits by refusing to sell food.

No, actually, it is only in the government la=la-land, where farmers are paid not to plant crops, trains run to destinations without enough traffic to cover the costs and soon, medical treatments will be denied because a government official feels you won't enjoy the benefits long enough to justify the cost.
  • AARP
I cut my AARP membership card in half last week and mailed it back to them, cancelling my membership.
  • sounds like to me..
Everyone should cancel their AARP membership as many in this video said they were going to do. That would send a message.
  • AARP Meeting Vid...
    teared up:
"This video made me tear up. All these senior trying to express their views and the meeting organizers just pack up and leave. Where is the respect for the older generation?"
    ____________

Where is it? It doesn't exist with people like the wench in that vid. She treated the folks there like crap.

Where is the respect? Their "respect", is getting seniors ready to accept their "end of life choices", because to Liberals they are no longer productive and see dollar signs going out the window for their proper care.

These people should be ashamed. They make me SICK. What a way to treat the "greatest Generation".

I wonder if that wench treats her own parents like that?

I am angry as heck over this. But then the folks that stayed handled it very well. Their comments were a microcosm of what the majority of us think.
  • Jiggly's Tone
I can't believe how she was speaking to them... like they were a bunch of unruly children or just simpletons. That's how my 8 year old's teacher speaks to her class when they are talking out of turn.
  • If those folks fit the White Houses's definition of "thugs" then I guess I better move because where I live I'm sorrounded by "thugs". Thanks for opening my eyes Obama, you a$$clown.
  • AARP
I cancelled my AARP membership today. The rep was very polite, and happened to mention that they have been overwhelmed with calls. I also invited AARP and Ms. Pelosi to kiss my astro turf
  • Nascon?
I have not heard much about NASCON lately but it would be a very good time to promote it as the conservative alternative to AARP.
  • Michael
You're NOT conservative. You gave it away in your first sentence when you referred to Obama as "the president" and then again when you intimated that this is a legitimate debate, rather than a government power grab designed to look like some sort of humanitarian something or other. And furthermore, what conservative would go by "Michael"?? Mike or even Mikey, but never MICHAEL, FFS.

Why is it always the Democrats who pretend to be conservative??? I can guaran-f@#$ing-tee I'll never pretend to be a pinko bastard, unless of course I'm purposely trying to piss somebody off.

I'd be loud and raucous if I went to one of those meetings, too....probably do a couple tequila shots beforehand.
  • Michael
You are missing something. She started out insulting them. You don't begin a meeting by telling people what they know or what they can all agree on. They simply said no we don't agree and she copped an attitude, then it went downhill from there. They are supposed to be listening and answering questions not lecturing.
  • thats just rude
And you all wonder why the president is saying the "teabaggers" are comming to meetings to disrupt. I would have rather sat through 5 min of this woman's speed (she is running the meeting), than the 1 min of interuptions before I decided that most of the folks there weren't interested in discourse, but in making sure they had the biggest microphone. I'm as liberatarian and conservative as they come, but you can win squat this way. You just piss off the folks trying to listen.
  • Damn I'm proud!
That audience is made up of Americans that either had fathers and mothers that served in WWII or possibly they themselves served in WWII. The greatest generation knows what tyranny looks like, whether it be soft or right your face. I think the Government mistakenly thought that the elderly were going to lay down for this but GUESS WHAT!!!! Looks like a big fat NOOOOO!!!! Lean into them and don't let up 'til they say Uncle!!!! :)
  • AARP Representatives
People like the AARP rep remind me of many Deadheads I knew years ago. They always said they were open minded and accepting. As time went by I realized they were open minded and accepting of people who liked the Grateful Dead and thought, dressed, smelled and lived like them, only. Now, 20 years later they have not changed.

Thank God for those senior citizens who are not the addled sheep the AARP clearly believes them to be.
  • Hey Stan's #1 Fan and Fred in Lilburn . . .
"All those people butting in" pay that woman's salary. They have every right under the sun to call her on anything she says. No, they are not "clearly under 50 years old." I, for one, am glad to see "old farts" like these folks standing up for themselves. They certainly can't count on people like you to do it. And why should we "shut them up?" I'm certainly glad my Father's generation didn't share your attitude - we'd all be speaking German, right now. The government takeover of health care is a disaster just waiting to happen. EVERY American citizen has the right and responsibility to tell people like this, and you, where to stick it! I stand and applaud them!
  • teared up
This video made me tear up. All these senior trying to express their views and the meeting organizers just pack up and leave. Where is the respect for the older generation?
  • Touched On but Not Expounded On
There was a line that has been touched on here but not expounded on and even though it seems that everyone heard, I think you all missed something. When the AARP rep made the comment that "how can insurance companies have a profit without rationing healthcare", this struck a cord. What this guy did, and I know it was unintentional, was say that Obamacare will always run at a deficit. Think about that for a minute. Yes, insurance companies run a profit. Um, if they didn't, they wouldn't be around because they don't have an endless cache of money they can draw from like the gubment. Do they ration healthcare? I don't have enough information to answer that honestly but if they do I suspect it's not to the degree that this idiot thinks. But I digress. Listen to that line closely folks. When something operates at a constant deficit, how does that benefit everyone? For those of you defending this, how are you going to live when you're taxed at 70+% just to pay for this?
  • Not a member
I am glad I never joined AARP even though my wife and I have received mailings for years.
  • Keep It Up!!!!!!
This is momentous. The Seniors only have their lives to lose over this stupid bill. All I can say is GO SENIORS!!!! Let them call in their union thugs to combat the people. There are way more of us than there are of them. Put the Union Boss in my face!!! Either we try now, or we lay around and die later. I did not fight for this country for 9 years in the US military, so we could lay around and take it up the rear-end. Listen up Mr. President...Your battle is joined! The people have spoken...Independent voters have joined the chorus of the Conservatives and Libertarians...In short- bring it on!!!!
  • the greatest generation
I think aarp and the whitehouse forgets that many of these seniors are members of and children of the "Greatest Generation".They reconize facisism from first hand encounters, have defeated it at a great cost and won't sit quietly while someone sh!ts on them.Todays generation does not reconize facisism because of ignorance, its history is not taught in schools(thank you teachers union!)so the only edcuation of it is learned from the media(and it ain't the history channel their watching!)Obama's plan must kill off the old because they are the only ones who really remember Mussilini,Stalin,Castro,Mao,Hitler,Po Pot and the rest of the "old school" dictators. The old school had a"propaganda minister".The "new school" dictators have the much better "Public Relations office". New name for the same old job,too lie, demonize, spin, misinform, slant, scare ect.The old see Obama,Chavez,Iran,Putin,Kim jung, and others as they are not as their P.R. presents them so therefore the elderly must shut up and die quietly.(baby boomers will be next and are likely go easier followed by the next who are not yet even aware they are lining up for the showers)
  • Anyone see the atlas shrugged shirt?
  • AARP
As of last evening I have counseled my AARP membership.
Based on the Health Care Bill and it's "end-of-life" counseling, etc. my thoughts to AARP are that soon, they will have to start cutting staff as their "elder" membership begins to die off under the health care plan they support. Maybe can I help make that happen just a little bit sooner. Money talks folks!!!
  • God Bless Those AARP Members
I believe this horrid legislation is going to hit the elderly the hardest, and these people are not turning away from the fight. Not retreating. Not cowering. Brought a tear to my eye. Go get 'em!!!
  • Thank goodness
for folks out there like this. Another demonstration of how Liberalism (its present meaning) is purely a mental disorder. It never can or will stand up against logic, reason, history, or fact. That is why Liberals cannot take heat for very long.
  • AARP Cowards
to quote Monty Python "Runaway, Runaway"
  • AARP Money
The members need to vote with their dollars. That's the only way the AARP will change their pro-liberal agenda.
  • video not available
The video is not available right now.
  • Comment by "Pissed Off"
This may be a bit off topic but is germane. I heard a news report on CNN of all places, saying that the cash for clunkers had a built-in "administrative cost" of between $1,000 and $1,500 per "clunker". Nonetheless, I'll keep driving my '91 Ford as long as it can go because I can't afford another car payment.
  • Dat Mass
It's in poor taste for her to show it to us and make my eyes burn. There's a big difference between "genetics" and lardassery. She just has a big, blubbery ass. People like her are why I exercise so I don't have to use a special web site to buy my pants.
  • Lil Shabazz
I noticed that woman's large bum bum, too, but I thought it would be in poor taste to mention it, considering so many Americans are afflicted with genetic obesity. Try exercising some empathy, FFS. We all have our little imperfections. Take me for instance; I wasn't always talk, dark and handsome. At one point in my life, I was short, dark and handsome, but I eventually overcame my affliction.
  • Black Panthers
    "black panthers patrolling the meetings"

I can't wait - tell me the time and place and I'll be there waiting for them
  • AARP website
They have a direct link to SEIU. Never noticed that before. AARP has lost any respect they may have had.
  • Don't confuse me.
How dare you confuse me with the facts!? My mind is already made up over this.
Asinine. The cycle continues. They won't stop until they have all of us under their thumb (They being the political "elite").
Its funny how the same idea of "You're either with us or your with the terrorists" mentality is permeating this debate. Interesting how anyone who is for this health care reform....or is it Health insurance reform...anyway...how they are using the same tactic the “great evil one,” The Decider used. MMM....hope and change tastes and feels good....but how much food does it actually put on the table at the end of the day. Sad that people still believe their government can do a better job than private companies.
  • Geriatric Thugs!
You could tell they were all middle aged republicans bussed in to disrupt the meeting. Just terrible.

Why isn't there a "sarcasm" tag for these posts?
  • Dat Ass
Wow, that lady's a real lardass. And you know it's only going to get bigger too! Every step she takes it's like giant vat of jello.
  • Typical condescending liberal arrogance
This video was a joy to watch because it shows how quickly the libs will cut and run when people dont kowtow to their belief structure.

These libs wouldnt have survived the hardships my parents and grandparents went through.....and perhaps I think if America once again had to go through those same hardships (like having to hunt for something to eat for example)then perhaps we could solidify our nations cartilaginous backbone once again....its like lifting weights, once we've grown soft, weak and flabby...only adversity will cause us to strengthen our moral structure once again.
  • next weeks video will be...
tune in next week to see the union thugs and black panthers patroling the aarp meetings and performing senior beat-downs on these smart-mouth obviously "paid & planted" obama haters.(I heard they were paid off with free Hooveround scooter"pimp-outs" and earlybird special coupons.dem foolish old white people sell out too cheap!)
  • Insurance companies making billions...
The "volunteer" that gets up and says "How would they make money, if they provided everyone with healthcare? There's no way". Classic stuff. So, when the government decides to give everyone healthcare there's "no way" they'll make money. In fact, they'll lose money - lots of it. Where's that money coming from? Bend over and Obama and Pelosi will show you...
  • No no no
They're all just "Brooks Brothers", paid for by the healthcare industry, swastika carrying, racist, mean, hateful, KKK joining, bigoted, xenophobic, Republican shilling, RETARDS that were bussed in to make it look like the population doesn't want health care reform. THEY'RE JUST TRYING TO HURT OBAMA!!! Can't you see it - look at that MOB of people - why they're so disruptive and mean.

Me? I think Rush, Sean and Neal paid for them to be there.
  • Questions for your reps. Can they answer?
From Mike Adams via Town Hall.
    Ask your reps these questions.
On Page 22, I saw some language, which suggested that the bill mandates audits of all employers that choose to self-insure. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?
On Page 29, I saw what appeared to be an admission that health care will be rationed under this new plan. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?
On Page 30, I discovered that a government committee will be established to decide what treatments and benefits I get. However, unlike an insurer, I see no evidence that there will be a process to appeal their decisions. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?
On Page 50, I read some non-discrimination language, which seems to suggest that all non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free health care services. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?
On Page 59, I saw some language suggesting that the federal government will have access to all individual bank accounts for health-related electronic funds transfers. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?
On Page 124, I learned that no private company can sue the government for price-fixing. Furthermore, no “judicial review” is permitted against a complete government monopoly. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 127, I read that the government will now set wages for physicians. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 149, couched in esoteric “contribution” language, it looks like any employer with a payroll of $400,000 or more, who does not offer the public option, pays an 8% tax on payroll as a penalty. This penalty would go a long way towards destroying the private system. It would also seem to violate your campaign promises – specifically those you made during debates I watched. If I read this correctly, it appears you looked me – via the camera – in the eye and lied. So, Barry, can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 203, I read a very strange sentence: “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax imposed by this chapter for purposes of determining the amount of any credit under this chapter.” I know this is supposed to be a true/false test but do you think calling a “tax” by some other name means it is no longer a tax? This seems to be a persistent theme in this bill. Please explain. Attach extra sheets of paper if necessary.

Page 272 has some of the most esoteric language of the health care bill. But it looks like the government plans to ration health care for cancer patients. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?
  • The AARP needs to get out of the way!
The AARP needs to get out of the way of it's members and let their voices be heard. So many groups like the AARP love to stand in front of their membership and act as if the voice of the entire organization echos the sentiment of a few socialist extremists at the top. Get over yourselves. and as for the AFLCIO and other unions that are standing in the way of peaceful protests at the community meetings around the country, do your members even know what they are fighting for? or are they like the soldiers of a fascist regime cheerily picking up their guns to fight for their masters cause regardless of whether it is right, just, warranted or even beneficial to them.
  • "Listen?"
This is the problem. Like she said, these are all supposed to be listening events. Meaning they should be listening to us. Instead they want to tell us "what we all agree on". No you don't know what we agree on because you haven't listened for years!

Don't start out a meeting with that attitude, you'll get nothing but irritation and anger in return.
  • unsustainable
Talk about arrogance! What kind of reaction do you expect from an audience when you start a speech by attributing your wacky political viewpoint to the entire room? And consider the statement. She is claiming that one of the most innovative, successful industries in the entire world, American healthcare, is unsustainable. You can't blame this nitwit though. She's just regurgitating Democrat talking points.
  • Amen Brother !!!
Look, reform, repair, alter ...sure..no one alledges this current system is perfect..
But to outright change it completely baffles me..

I think our elected representatives have lost thier minds !!!
Sadly, I think my Congressman is voting for it...regardless of the amount of letters I've been sending (and others)
It'll be a short two years for him then..
Oh well..and I thought he looked promising
  • can't wait...
Until Americans wake up and realize they been duped with a fake 'war on terror' and other nonsense, and start outright revolt. Maybe what Thomas Jefferson said about tyrants vs Patriots is starting to become true.
  • I would have left too
I agree with Stan. How was AARP supposed to handle a discussion on health insurance reform with all of those people butting in? Most of them were clearly younger than 50 years old so why were they there anyway? Taylor Hicks looks like he's about 50 but he's really only 28 so remember that when you watch this. Is this what America has come to today? I think it's time we gave these old farts their oat bran and a Bingo game to shut them up. Oh and they were all white and we're supposed to believe you pigs aren't racists who are fighting President Obama for the sake of fighting President Obama. Well, I'm sorry he isn't out in your yard picking cotton but get with the 20th century. Copyleft, I need you here to carry on the torch of knowledge because I have to go out for a while.
  • AARP
