We've been getting a wealth of information from Rasmussen about public attitudes toward the Democrat attempt to nationalize health care. As you know, about a month ago the Democrats adopted the method of demonizing health insurance companies to further their agenda. They knew that most Americans actually like their doctors and the health care they receive from them, so demonizing the medical establishment wasn't going to work. So ... let's hang the health insurance companies.

Now Rasmussen has found that when it comes to health care decisions, 60% of Florida voters fear the federal government more than private insurance companies. Thirty-three percent (33%) fear insurance companies more. The numbers are virtually identical among those who have health insurance.

Wonder what the looters next strategy will be?

Both were at liberal Columbia University professors in the '60's. (I know, "liberal Columbia University Professor" is redundant). These two professors put forth their Cloward-Piven strategy in an article in The Nation magazine. The issue date was May 2, 1966. David Horowitz summarizes the strategy thusly:

The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

Hmmmmm. Does that sound at all like our current "crisis" in health care? I mean, how many people do you personally know who are in the throes of despair right now because of some needed health care service that is beyond their reach? Oh sure, I know that there are lifeboat cases; there always are, in any society. But do the relatively small percentage of people out there who are facing some sort of unmet medical disaster constitute an entire system in "crisis?" Certainly not. So why the huge push? Why the asinine idea that our economic recovery is dependent on developing some form of national healthcare? Why is this all being painted as a crisis that to be solved right-by-God-now or our entire society is endangered? Well ... Obama and the Democrats, of course, are anxious to get this segment of the economy under their absolute control before next year's mid-term elections. Time is really of the essence for them. Consider also that if you're going to use the Cloward-Pivin Strategy of manufactured crisis, you have to treat it like an actual crisis, and that means dealing with it NOW!

Here's a bit from The Nation article: The essential features of a campaign using the Cloward-Pivin Strategy.

  1. The offensive organizes previously unorganized groups eligible for government benefits but not currently receiving all they can.
  2. The offensive seeks to identify new beneficiaries and/or create new benefits.
  3. The overarching aim is always to impose new stresses on target systems, with the ultimate goal of forcing their collapse.

Needless to say we're going to be discussing my "find" here (thanks to a listener email) in coming days and weeks. But first, perhaps you would like to learn more on your own. Go ahead .. use Google. But here's two links to get you started:

  1. Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis, from American Thinker.com
  2. The Cloward-Piven Strategy, from Discoverthenetworks.org

What do you think? Could the Democrat-Socialist party be intentionally trying to collapse our system?

I talked about this on the air yesterday, but it is so incredibly asinine that it is worth putting in Nealz Nuze. I fear that you really understand the direction the Democrats are taking this country. A few days ago I told you about the unprecedented powers that have been given to our pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg. This guy can make "binding" decisions on compensation levels at financial institutions. He can even "claw back" any compensation that he feels was unjustly earned. Over the recent months, we have seen the demonizing of Wall Street, auto executives, oil companies, ...you name it ... and now that the Democrats have moved on to healthcare, they have found another industry to attack and demonize. The health insurance industry.

Have they gone to far this time?

The Democrat plan of attack is obtain and then demonize financial records of private insurance companies until the public becomes "outraged."

Some House Democrats sent letters to some of the nation's top insurance firms, asking - no, DEMANDING - that they provide detailed financial records for Congress. The Representatives say that the committee is simply "examining executive compensation and other business practices in the health insurance industry."

Noodle this one out: Why do the Democrats need to know the information about the following:

  • Compensation levels of highly paid employees - those making more than $500,000 in any year between 2003 and 2008. This includes bonuses, stock options, perquisites and deferred compensation.
  • Documents on the companies' premium income and claims payments
  • Explain how executive pay is determined and provide documents used by the boards' compensation committees.
  • Any information on corporate events held outside company facilities since 2007, including detailed costs on transportation, entertainment, food and gifts.

I'll tell you why ... because the Democrats are about to start another clown parade in Washington. They know they are losing the PR battle when it comes to healthcare. So they are going to ramp up their program to demonize the insurance industry. The objective is to make these health insurance companies look so heinous and greedy and frivolous that the average American will be begging government to punish them or kill them off entirely. Pure government bullying. The solution, of course, will be the government option .. a government health care program that will be so fair, so pure and so above-board. We are witnessing the creation of another crisis .. the health insurance industry crisis. Pretty soon this will be such a horrible and devastating crisis that only strong and immediate government intervention can help.

Following the script.

Just like I've already pointed out, the Democrats know that they are losing the PR battle on healthcare. So they've decided that the current tactic isn't working. Let's move on to Plan B. Appeal to emotion. Rip their hearts out. Play up the wealth envy and emphasize the poor, poor, pitiful poor that can't afford health insurance (but who, by the way, are eligible for Medicaid).

Come September, expect a different sales pitch out of Washington. Obama will be focusing more on the "moral imperative to provide health insurance to all Americans" rather than get trapped on the details. This also includes doing away with informal townhall meetings. Yep, done are the days where angry Americans could get up and voice their opinions directly to Washington. Now, at least for the President, he will focus on a strategy that includes speeches rather than townhalls.

Ultimately, Barack Obama supporters are upset because they feel like this is not the Barack Obama they voted for. The man that is currently out there explaining the details of healthcare reform isn't the same rock star with a great bod and lofty speeches. So Obama has decided that he is going to dumb things down, once again, to the level of rhetoric that got him elected, and try and win over America on healthcare reform.

Things have gotten so bad with this cash for clunkers program that car dealers in New York have withdrawn from the program. They are frustrated by the fact that they have yet to be reimbursed by the federal government. Keep in mind that only 2% of cash for clunkers payments have been doled out. A lot of these auto dealers genuinely believe that they will never be repaid by the government. Others are still holding on to hope, but they can't wait any longer because they don't have any more cash. Imagine that. The government would never understand a concept like this ... how to run a business when you have to meet a bottom line.

Mark Schienberg, president of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association says, "The program is a great program in the sense that it's creating a lot of floor traffic that a lot of dealers haven't seen in a long time ... But it's in the hands of this enormous bureaucracy and regulatory agency ... If they don't get out of their own way, this program is going to be a huge failure."

And you think that this same government can run your healthcare.

You will remember that we've talked in recent days about these people who showed up at an ObamaCare rally in Arizona. About six protestors were legally wearing guns on their hips. One was carrying a semi-automatic rifle. I've said that I thought that this was a bit over the top ... not a good idea ... but let's focus on what MSNBC's Contessa Brewer had to say:

"A man at a pro-health care reform rally just outside wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip. The Associated Press about a dozen people in all at that event were visible carrying firearms.

The reason we're talking about this--a lot of talk here Dylan--because people feel like yes, there are Second Amendment rights, for sure, but also there are questions about whether this has racial overtones. You have a man of color in the Presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists."

OK .. let's ferret out the "facts" contained in Contessa's news story.

  • We had a rally for ObamaCare
  • A man at that rally was carrying a semiautomatic assault rifle
  • The man carrying the rifle was white.

Well ... listen to the show today. Perhaps some interesting news, and evidence of a coverup?

How about a study of some of the contradictions in ObamaCare!

In Government We Trust? Now why would we do something as foolish as that?

Barack Obama and his two top advisors have been connected to consulting firms that are profiting big-time from the Democrat push for healthcare reform.

The Democrats are getting antsy ... their approval ratings have officially fallen below 50%.

Thomas Sowell writes that deception is at the heart of the Democrat's plan.

The unions are baffled by a "new phenomenon" of Democrat who aren't bending to union demands, especially when it comes to this healthcare bill.

When I talk about the looters and the moochers ... this is exactly what I mean.

Jesse Jackson Jr. explains that a government healthcare option would keep other insurers "honest" ... similar to how the Post Office does.

Senate Democrats are apparently determined to pass this healthcare legislation "by any means necessary."

SEIU's Purple Army gets a special conference call with Barack Obama today on healthcare reform.

Barack Obama is considering moving some Gitmo detainees to a maximum security prison in Standish, Michigan.

When in doubt, play the blame game. This is exactly what Democrats are doing with this healthcare debate.

What if the government option isn't included in the healthcare bill? Democrat support tanks.

The outgoing leader of Greenpeace admits that his organization "emotionalizes" issues and then admits that Greenpeace "made a mistake" in claiming that the Arctic Ice will disappear by 2030.

This columnist seems to think it is a good idea to mandate that doctors provide free medical care if they want to get/keep their license.

And, how about a little fun: 23 badly placed internet ads.
