More from The Wall Street Journal on the Honduran situation. You need to keep up with this ... the Obama crowd isn't going to give you the straight story.

National Review has some interesting info on the Honduran story as well.

Yet another European country lowering income taxes in order to spur economic growth. This time it is Germany. We're becoming more European .. Europe is becoming more American.

Here's how Senator Jerk stole the election in Minnesota.

Barack Obama wants National Guard volunteers to patrol the Mexican border. What? With water bottles and maps?

Guess who is going to be overseeing the political reconciliation process in Iraq? That would be Joe Biden.

The Obama Justice Department has determined that detainees tried by military commissions in the U.S. can claim at least some constitutional rights.

Wal-Mart says that it supports employer healthcare mandates. It sent a letter to Congress announcing its support, co-signed by labor leader and close Obama friend Andy Stern.

At least five states have considered proposals to take pre-emptive action against the pending federal mandates for healthcare.

Did you know that our government bailout plan for banks includes money for a British rum company?

A federal judge in California has issued an injunction to stop the state of California from reducing wages of home healthcare workers.

Here's a question to consider ... are we setting ourselves up for a jobless recovery? You can thank government for that one.

The ACLU is upset that our government continues to practice racial profiling of minorities. For the most part the ACLU couldn't tell its you-know-what from a hole in the ground.

Here's what ACORN has been up to lately ... protesting for mortgage companies to help homeowners --- homeowners who don't pay their mortgages.

Michael Jackson fans are now committing suicide because they are so heartbroken over his death. Somehow this doesn't strike me as a bad thing.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are duking it out over who gets to have the spotlight at Michael Jackson's funeral. Nothing like a good race pimp fight. No hair pulling guys.

You knew these articles were coming ... complaints about the lack of fireworks shows on the Fourth of July because of the economy.

What others are saying

  • Wal-Mart
Most of the time, I am defending Wal-Mart from the looters that want to force them to unionize or prohibit their entry into a community because of the local business's inability to compete. This time, Wal-Mart has become the looter. They are calling for an "employer mandate." With this policy, an employer would have to provide "meaningful" health insurance coverage to his employees or "contribute" to the government plan. If you think beyond stage one, you will understand why Wal-Mart wants the government to force all employers to pay for their employee's health insurance. It will add costs to all of Wal-Mart's competitors, eliminating those on the margin. Wal-Mart had similar motives some time ago when they supported a minimum wage increase. Those who request help through force from the aristocrats of pull are no better than the aristocrats themselves. Screw Wal-Mart, and the rest of the looters along with them.
  • no spin
But if someone says 100% of profit up front, then you would be negligent to not know that means expenses come out. Of course any charity is going to take out expenses. that's why the amount they actually get, floats between 20% and 80%, with the Salvation Army I believe being the lowest expense/highest contributor.

Didn't even know he was doing these, wouldn't go anyway, so how much money are we talking?

And for that other stuff, if you wanna keep banging your head against the wall and thinking you're accomplishing anything, more luck to ya!

Here's to better years ahead for the Republic.
  • No BS, no money given!
    Gavin go to:
    premierespeakers.com/sean_hannity/bio
Read about the donation that he claimed was made to Freedom Alliance in '07. Freedom Alliances 2007 Tax Form 990 (for 501c3) has no mention of any donation of that amount what-so-ever.
    Go to:
    guidestar.org
    register -
    type in Freedom Alliance -
Click on the one from Dulles,Va -
Then click on 990 documents and see for yourself if that donation was made!
  • revenue and profit
Their definitions have nothing to do with the scam of acting like you are giving 100% of anything to the troops when in reality you are giving 1% of the gate. It bugs me that your people are out there walking around believing his spin.

What am I going to do about what's happening now? I'm doing it. What's happening now will continue if the GOP regains power. They need to go -- done -- never again. Look at Newt G. I used to like the guy -- I mean since I'm not his wife of course -- but look how low he stooped with that Pelosi lunacy saying she should resign for saying *gasp* the CIA (what was her word?) misled? her. He's come a long way from the Contract With America. The GOP is irrelevant.

And es, I do understand the party that's relevant is so because after the Bush years put us on the brink of economic meltdown, these clowns gave us a shove.
  • Frank
Frank: Obama by getting up on the 2nd day of his Presidency saying good morning to his wife accomplished more than Bush did in his entire 8 years as the pretender to the throne!

That's very true! Nothing to brag about, but true.
  • $mooth struck out!
    $mooth Operator,
Let's talk about Bush meeting Putin for the 1st time.
This is what Bush said after about 3 minutes of looking into the eyes of the former head of the KGB,Putin.
"I looked the man in the eye.I found him to be very straight forward and trustyworthy and we had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a "SENSE OF HIS" SOUL."
Bush having found time from clearing brush at his dude ranch a few weeks into his Presidency, meets Putin and almost declares him a saint, the former f*#king head of the KBG, what a hoot!
Obama by getting up on the 2nd day of his Presidency saying good morning to his wife accomplished more than Bush did in his entire 8 years as the pretender to the throne!
    How about that,$mooth!
  • umm oh Gavin
I thought you would know the difference between revenue and profit.

No not a loyal fan, don't even watch him. On the other hand YOU seem to have something for him.
  • Honduras, the UN & a general rant
Apparently Raul Castro landed in Managua today, at the invite of his old pal Daniel Ortega. Chavez and Zelaya are en route. If only the Colombians could execute an "Operation Valkyrie" and kill those S.O.B.'s....

Meanwhile, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution supporting the criminal Zelaya but was silent regarding events in Iran. What a shocker that was. Not.

If this is the "fresh" foreign policy Obama promised us, it looks to a lot of people that he's reading straight out of the Hugo Chavez playbook. Imagine if Bush were doing this....oh, the "outrage" we'd be hearing from the MSM.

Lastly, it's obvious Putin will eat Obama for breakfast this month. Watch for Obama to cave in on missile defense and apologize on behalf of America to Russia, should be priceless.
  • Geez Gavin
You really have a thing for me don't ya! Except you just never listen.

Everyone else (with a brain) how many times have I posted that "everyone in Washington (I believe that includes dems and repubs) have been lying to us for decades."?

Talking non stop about Bush is like the MSM going nuts covering Michael Jackson while the Climate Bill is being snuck past us. We can't do anything about Bush, he's gone! You do know that right?

Now get busy doing something about what is happening NOW!

I know you are not really that dense. You are the only decent troll we've got.
  • Hannity scamming troops
Wow, Frank. Hannity's Freedom Concerts -- the ones where he proudly declares 100% of "the profits" go to charity for the troops -- in reality give 1% of the money taken in. A huge portion is hidden in "costs" and of the 4% that does go to charity, that $$ first filters through a fund run by Oliver North and a smal portion of it ends up going to the fund for the troops.

What a dirtbag. How can his loyal fans hear him with their heads buried in the sand?
  • ...
    Joyce
When I read this, I almost fell off my chair thinking you were talking Bush:
"But if the ex-president cared about his "people" why didn't he go through the proper channels. What he did was against their constitution."

    Ju
"If what Bush did was wrong, shouldn't the new kid on the block be doing something different?"
    Yes.

    Frank
    Sounds interesting. Thanks.

    Cowboy
Where my mind is? I'm the one who called Tillman a hero, you did not. No need to lie. And I'm not going to relax about Bush because I still see people in here and elsewhere, trying to reset the clock back to when Rush was just becoming popular. When he'd say something and they'd all race to the water cooler to parrot his thoughts. People still think they can get by on blaming Democrats for everything. I'm here to help them get over themselves. Joyce -- are your ears ringing? I'm talking about you, sister.

You seem like a thoughtful cowboy, so what are you going to do when the GOP comes up with the brilliant strategy of "getting back to basics" in a few yeras? You gonna forgive and forget? There has o be a better choice.
  • The 'Absentee' Senator article is rubbish
Wow, talk about bitter! The author makes no attempt to hide his bias with lies and slant, right out of the gate.

"Franken wins by changing the rules."
Franken did not change the rules, he used avenues available to Coleman to have them changed.

    "Norm Coleman's gracious concession..."
After 8 months neither side can claim to be gracious about any of this. Besides, a gracious loser can do as much for his supporters as I can do for them.

"The unfortunate lesson is that you don't need to win the vote on Election Day as long as your lawyers are creative enough to have enough new or disqualified ballots counted after the fact."
We learned this lesson in the 2000 Presidential Race.

"While Mr. Coleman's lawyers demanded a uniform standard..., the Franken team ginned up an additional 1,350 absentees from Franken-leaning counties."
That line fails on the author's use of the "ginned up" alone, as does his implication that the Franken team somehow created these votes. As if this ghost author believes they didn't do the same thing Coleman could have done if he wasn't standing around being so gracious, no, the Franken team printed bogus ballots and made up names to "gin up" votes. They found the votes, they lobbied to have the voting commission include them, the commission chose to do so.

To say Franken stole this election is as valid as saying Bush stole the 2000 election.
  • And once again Gavin
I think we have many times here said, Bush sucks too. How many more times do you and your girl Copy wanna hear it?

That does NOT excuse what Obama is doing now.

If what Bush did bothers you so much, go to Texas. Knock on his front door. Let us know how that goes.
  • Doc
    No worry.

But if the ex-president cared about his "people" why didn't he go through the proper channels. What he did was against their constitution. And from the comments I'm hearing from Hondurans, this Zelaya was not really for the people.

We are not there, there are lots of conflicting reports. But we have to respect their constitution. Even if our politicians do not respect ours.
  • Stop beating around the Bush, Gavin
If what Bush did was wrong, shouldn't the new kid on the block be doing something different?

Or, as my late mother frequently told me, "If every one of your dumb little friends climbed up to the very top of the Empire State building and jumped off, I suppose you'd have to do it too!"

And as my grandfather once said, "If you've got energy to whine and a free finger to point, take this bucket and bail faster before the boat sinks."
  • Freedom Concerts/Hannity
    Gavin Volaire,
    Google: Hannity scamming troops
Read about his Freedom Concerts scam
  • It's all Bush's fault the GOP are so far left?
Relax, President Bush was a right wing extremist AND a flaming lib.

This from the other day Gavin:
“I didn't understand your point about Tillman -- are you saying it wasn't heroic because it was friendly fire or it wasn't heroic because of the shameful cover up that followed it?”
    By Gavin Volaire

Neither, I was pointing out Tillman was in Afghanistan, not Iraq, but it's nice to see where your mind is.

“...while scouting ahead to lead his men to the aid of an ambushed patrol...,” seems clear to me.

    On to the Nuze

I guess the GOP didn’t want that MN seat. It looks like the only pair they had retired to Texas this past January.

Good call on the water bottles and maps, I bet they won’t be carrying loaded guns. When hussein says NG volunteers, is he saying these Guardsmen are free to patrol the border, he’s just not going to pay them to do so? If so, what a guy.

Frank Drebin’s going to oversee the Iraqi political reconciliation process, oh my. The Kurds, Sunnis, and Shia will be at each others’ throats, and neck deep in a full blown three way war in no time, even with a very discrete, extremely well paid interpreter. If anyone can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it’s Joe. Any odds on him plagiarizing the Koran, or trying to pass some of mohamed’s adventures off as his on while he’s there?

Of course hussein’s half-baked terrorist detainee policies are giving terrorists rights they aren’t entitled to, you don’t expect him to ever err on the side of the USA, or our national security, do you?

It looks like Walmart has cut a deal to be eaten last. They are in for a rude surprise if they think the left keeps their deals.

States that don’t go along with the dp Fed can expect to see their funding held hostage.

Job creation will lag some, but there’s no such thing as a jobless recovery, either the economy is growing or it isn’t. There isn’t going to be a recovery if cap and trade hits, and with the federal government taking over so much of the economy, and blowing money they don’t have, there may not be anyway. You can’t starve and strangle the goose and expect more eggs.

ACORN, your tax dollars at work.

If someone really wanted to make mj’s funeral interesting, they would arrange to have Jackson and sharpton on the stage together. The things they’d do to edge the other out would be hilarious. If it comes to blows, sharpton has that hairspray helmet for protection
  • Joyce M/Blythe
you ain't going to like me, but i've haven't forgotten the Honduras thing.

    from this article :

As one media analyst pointed out, while many major news outlets in the US, including the Miami Herald, Wall St. Journal and Washington Post, said an impetus for the coup was specifically Zelaya’s plans for a vote to allow him to extend his term in office, the actual ballot question was to be: "Do you agree that, during the general elections of November 2009 there should be a fourth ballot to decide whether to hold a Constituent National Assembly that will approve a new political constitution?"

Nations across Latin America, including Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador, have recently re-written their constitutions. In many aspects the changes to these documents enshrined new rights for marginalized people and protected the nations’ economies from the destabilizing effects of free trade and corporate looting.

you know me Joyce M/Blythe, i care about the common people. i wish our country did.

  • Franken "victory"
In your teaser you called him "Senator Jerk".
In light of the circumstances surrounding his "victory",don't you think "senator thief" is more appropiate?
BTW,don't you also think there should be a show of support for changing the senate's official theme song,IF they have one, form whatever it is to "Send in the Clowns"?
    After all,it is most fitting,now.
  • Bush Screwed US
I know some of you in here like to pretend Bush never happened but did he ever. He left office and left us with a staggering 400% dept to GDP, 25% higher than it was during the Great Depression. And spare me the "Well, what's Obama doing?" rhetoric. I'll tell you what he's doing: He's acting like the liberal he ran as. The bigger question is what's he doing in office in the first place? He's there because Bush ran as a conservative, then acted like a liberal. He's there because Republicans were so thoroughly trounced during Bush, that they trotted out ole Amnesty McCain as their candidate and the hardliners split their vote between the *electable* one and the anti-abortion one(s).

Through all of Bush's spending, the first time he used his veto power was to pander to the religious right by killing the gov't funded stem cell research bill. And that wasn't because of the money.

It's hard to imagine being able to trust anyone who calls themselves a Republican ever again. If you say you're a GOP, you are saying you sign off on the Bush years and you immediately lose me.

Hey, what' the latest on Hannity's promise to raise $$$ for the families of the troops with his waterboarding fundraiser? I'd like to attend.
  • Check out
The thread from yesterday about Honduras. Many posts from Hondurans came in after most of us had quit looking for the day. Very interesting.
  • Weakening of America
Neal you have preached how Europeans wanted a weaker America for some time now. I thought you exaggerated this point for its entertainment value, but the revelation of so many European countries turning towards traditional American social ideals at the same time America is turning towards traditional European ideals, I see a grander scheme playing out here. You may have been right. We are making ourselves weaker while European countries are adapting the same ideals that once made us the greatest country on the planet. We are still the greatest country, but the people need to "wake up" as you have so often preached as well.
  • Al and Jesse bitch fight?
If only they would fight to the death or maybe compromise and lead the suicidal fans by example
  • Re: “the Obama crowd isn't going to give you the straight story. “ OMG! Neal, did you mean to imply that the Fauxbozo Administration/Statist Controlled Media are going to LIE???
Oh yeah, they're Statist/Fascist/Socialist/Marxist/Stalinist/Collectivist/etc. (take your pick),
So they're going to Lie and obfuscate -it's what they do.
  • no capital gains tax
Europe is cutting taxes. China has no capital gains tax.
America is raising taxes. Why is it that the Europeans and Chinese will come out of this Economic slump before the US?
If you review your history, in the recession of 1921 in the US, President Harding cut taxes and cut spending and the economy completely turned around in six months. Hoover/FDR decided to use government intervention, i.e. "stimulus packages for your government schooled types", and the recession ended up turning into the Great Depression.

    As some guy said, "People
  • Fireworks 4th of July
For me anyway, this will be the saddest Fourth ever. The government and all the lefty liberals are destroying everything represented by this holiday. They are turning it into just another postal holiday.

When 2012 is over, I hope to have real reason to celebrate. May just celebrate Independence Day in November that year.
  • Wrong Link
I believe the link to the jobless recovery article above is incorrect. The location of that story is:
    http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=50340
  • Fireworks crybabies
Just another example of what putting an anti-capitalist into office can do for the economy. This year it's fireworks, what will it be next year?
  • Wal-Mart
Not surprising at all. Remember this is the same company that supports using eminent domain to build on of their stores!
  • "Michael Jackson fans are now committing suicide because they are so heartbroken over his death. Somehow this doesn't strike me as a bad thing."

Well I guess that means there are a few less Obama supporters.
