  • The House just passed a massive tax hike on virtually all of the American people, ostensibly to help fight global warming. In the meantime New York City just had its coolest June in 51 years. How can the American people be conned so successfully like this? Answer: Government schools.

  • Do you think your friend might have cheated in the Peachtree Road Race? You can click here to check on them. If their name doesn't show up they didn't run the whole race ... and there they are wearing that t-shirt.

  • Well, the Independence Day celebrations are over. You can go back to trying to be as completely dependent on government as possible.

  • Will Obama and Chavez be successful in getting their buddy put back in power in Honduras?

  • The NYT is reporting that shifting oil prices are jeopardizing global economic recovery. Nothing is hurting our recovery more than government's decision that it will get to spend all the stimulus money.

  • New York City just had its coolest June in 51 years. This right after we passed a massive tax hike to fight global warming.

  • Does it seem just a bit absurd to you to be celebrating freedom while the government tells you that you aren't allowed to have fireworks?

What others are saying

  • NY Weather?
Wow. Did you ever learn statistics? One cool month (also know as an Outlier- look it up) of June and you're debunking Global Warming? Apparently the mountains of data around the average increase in temperature across decades was wrong! One cool month of June proved it!

How can YOU be conned so easily? Oh no wait, you're the one conning!

It's amazing how you turn your imaginary situations so neatly into hard facts.
  • Stan and BN
Stan, how can your environmentalists claim to care about toxins and such, and then FORCE us to put EFL light bulbs -- chock full of MERCURY -- in our homes??? What do they really care about?

BN -- I stopped reading posts by people who go out of their way to sound ignorant by using words like 'gubmint' and 'Democraps'. You may have intelligent, well thought out points, but I'm not wading through grammatical garbage to find them. If you want to communicate with educated, intelligent people, then use their language.
  • Race shirt
I'm an avid runner and have not run Peachtree, but wouldn't wearing that shirt within a hundred miles of Atlanta invoke the "BFD" response? Reminds me when I'd see people in England wearing Hard Rock Cafe London shirts.
  • commentary from the peanut gallery
No chance in He!! that Obama and Chavez will get that nut reinstated in Honduras.

NY had better send some cool weather to texas. We have had more than 15 days so far over 100 degrees with a "feels like" temp of 113+.
  • I got it Jake
    And you are right.

(bn - bite me - lost my lunch LOL)
  • Ellipses? Ellipses??
I thought those were bullet holes ...

Mr. Neckid's just practicing up - owning a gun gives one the tool to defend self and family, knowing how to use that tool makes it possible.
  • just a few more... .......................................
    SMACK

how many more posts do I have to make before you......you know really lose the will.....................
  • Point....?
butt neckid …put it this way…I was “splainen” to JoyceM/B that when you sit down at a game of cards with card sharks don't expect to win a hand.
  • what's your point??????????????????????
    Jake

I don't get it. watt you trying to say.

    SMACK...........I know you mean well butt.........................bite me........................please...

JoyceM/B................oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo. I know it is hard to hang on in these trying times but 2012 means you gotta stock up on a lota stuff. I'm not sure my local stop n rob has enuff beer and beef jerky for that long...

SMACK...what do you put on your elipses?I use billy-bobs 'xtra firey bar-b-que sauce. hell what is an elipses anyway???
  • Very true
In my town, they outlawed sparklers for gods sake.
  • Smack!
chill, most of us enjoy BN's points, if you read between the periods, there is a lot of wisdom there.

    Plus he's funny!
  • Stan
I'd agree with you if your side didn't want to bankrupt the country in the process. It has nothing to do with the environment. It's about political power and you know it.
  • @butt nekkid...............................
Can you please stop posting here? I just lose the will to live a little more everytime I try to read past your rambling. Also, a proper elipses use three (...) periods and not seventeen.
  • just a few scattered thoughts.............................
first off I don't give a crap if you like guns or not. when the time comes, I believe it is not far off, all of us will need protecting. not from the evil hordes.....from our own gubmint forces...

our young warriors are taught from the first day to obey. will they be used to tame us here in the former land of the free?

we know that L.E.O.'s will start shootin' cuz they do it now........ bang bang "stop poleez" bang bang....

with no weapons and no money you are BAIT. hell if you got money and no weapon......you do the math.....for you gubmint edukated....do da 'rithmatic.

this is like a bad rocky/terminator movie....I'm hopin' that I mixed up my drugs and booze and when I come to I'll be ok, It was a Dallas dream....

    ARM YOURSELF
    PROTECT YOU AND YOURS
  • Change
How about rather than republicans complaining about whether or not global warming is real they just stay concerned with helping the environment. It isnt a political issue, it is a health issue. Unless of course you like toxins in your air, water, fish, food and other necessities
  • Honduras twisting in the breeze.
If chavez follows through on his threat to overthrow the new Honduran President, hussein will do nothing but offer moral support, to chavez, of course. We voted for rule of man over rule of law, and we're getting it here and abroad.

US companies are reorganizing in Canada to take advantage of lower taxes, the cap and trade scam will make that worse.

Hussein recently held up California, the land of rolling blackouts and regular brownouts as an example of sound and successful energy policy. California increased their population by around 30% without building any new power plants, with the predictable result.

California's energy problems don't just hurt them, their neighbors are strained trying to take up their slack. When the Canadians divert energy trying to meet CA's self-inflicted shortfall, their electric intensive aluminum production suffers, and aluminum prices go up. Their short sightedness hits many businesses nationwide, in many ways.
  • T Shirts In A Wad, Boortz?
Nobody, but nobody gives a flying flip about the T shirt "cheaters" The Peachtree is nothing but a fun run for 54,500 runners. Less than 500 run for anything else.
  • Fireworks
We are mostly allowed fireworks here (by some stump blasting loophole or something) and they are just so annoying. From about 7pm July second to about 3am July 5th you can hear the mortars going off all around town. It gets so old, and my poor dog ends up with the runs after 4 days of explosions all around.

I am fine with a couple of hours on the 4th, but 4 days just makes me hate my them.
  • Jake
Yep, that is an issue, so we have to hold the line as much as we can till then. Are you calling your Rep and Senators? Hopefully, many of them know they are on the endangered list for 2010 so we can slow this crap down and hopefully enable the next President an opportunity to reverse it.

Plus, I am hoping that the numbers that came out to vote for the first black president will not feel like making the effort for a second time.

It's not much but it's all I can hold on to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Teachers Unions
Longtime president of the American Federation of Teachers union Al Shanker once said, “When schoolchildren start paying union dues, that’s when I’ll start representing the interests of schoolchildren.”

    Figures!
  • 2012?
Joyce M/Blythe the question is where will we be in 2012? (1) A massive number of unemployeed voting to retain their government checks. (2) a massive number of retirees voting to retain their government checks. (3) a massive number of new US citizens who were formally undocumented voting to retain their government checks. (4) a masssive number of government workers voting to retain their government checks.
  • Clark Howard?
I did not see Clark on the web site yet I saw him in Dunwoody and he told me he had a time of 78 minutes. Do celebrities use fake names?
  • A Call to Action
Of the issues you mentioned, the T Shirt crisis is the one to receive attention from our representatives.

Never mind the new taxes, regulation, and preservation of Zelaya imposed on us....
  • Forgive me for the dumb question butt ...
Didn't they give you t-shirt just for paying the entry fee, whether or not you started, ran, or finished the race?
  • Independence Day
    I'm waiting for Nov 2012.
  • Road Race shirts
Hey, as long as they don't lie and say they ran the race, it's fine by me.
  • Roadrace Shirts
I bought 5 Peachtree road race T shirts for my children at the Super Mercado over here in Norcross.
They would never be able to run that far, but wanted the shirts to show their friends.
    So, what the heck?
