WHEN IN DOUBT, IMPOSE A TAX

California is in big budget trouble budget wise. It may run out of money by July 28th. So when in doubt, propose new taxes. This time, California regulators want to impose a statewide carbon fee. The fee would be paid on utilities, oil refineries and other industries that produce pollution. Naturally, this would raise millions of dollars for the state, but it says the money would go toward regulating greenhouse gas emissions and fighting global warming.

It's a scam, folks. It's not about the environment .. it's about money and power. Hey .. how about you folks stop all that spending on illegal aliens in California? That would be a start.

  • Coming Soon to the US
What's happening in CA is scary. What is more scary is that our national politicians are drifting in their philosophical direction.

  • tax alternative
If CA would just sign a long term lease for some of its oil resources this whole problem could be solved. Until they make some of the easy decisions, I say let them suffer due to their stupidity. They could sell a few freeways too.
  • Well folks...
I am glad I moved across the Colorado River into Arizona. I escaped the siking ship just in time
  • Thats a great idea...
Raise taxes in a state that is already bankrupt. In other words take money people don't have. That is amazing logic and proof positive that the people in leadership positions are completely moronic and do not deserve their positions. Literally every single incumbent should be literally dragged out of their cushy offices and thrown out on the curb forcibly. They should have their homes and their freedoms torn from their dirty tained fingers. They have pushed the American people nearly to the brink. Why are they not afraid of us?
  • Is there any truth to the rumor that
the taxpaying people formerly of California are all at the California-Nevada border, jumping up and down - trying to get California to fall off so they'll again have beachfront property?
  • Tactics of California
A tax on Californians great enough to solve the State's woes would be political suicide, so the bastards put the utilities and industries on the alter knowing that when the voters complain about increases in their rates and expenses, the State can "LOOK" like the hero by publicly attacking these companies.
  • That'll show all those evil rich people
who are fleeing the state to avoid taxes -- now they'll have to pay a carbon tax on all that fuel that they are using to move out of state!

Why not get it over with, and tax any and all income (and any and all wealth) at 100%? This would rid California once and for all of all of the pesky producers, and purify the liberal utopia for the downtrodden. Is it too late to give CA back to Mexico?
