On Friday, your House of Representatives passed the largest tax increase in American history. Most of them probably couldn't tell you many details about the bill, considering the Democrats were still ramming through 300-page amendments as of late Friday night. In fact, on Friday afternoon House minority leader John Boehner tried to dissect some of the language of that 300-page amendment on the House floor. But after his mini-filibuster was over ... the House voted ... and it passed. There were 44 Democrats who voted against the bill. They're all up for re-election in 2010. But there were eight Republicans that ended up voting for the bill, which passed 219-212. So here they are.

Leonard Lance (NJ)
Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ)
John M. McHugh (NY)
Dave Reichert (WA)
Chris Smith (NJ)

So what can you do? Well, your voice can be heard at the ballot box. The next time these hacks come up for re-election, you simply vote them out of office. Show them that their time for monkeying around in Washington is over. That's it. We know this won't happen though. Every one of these politicians has a long list of wonderful pork projects they've brought back to their districts ... projects that give them all the reelection juice they need.

Meanwhile, now the next battle is in the Senate. Make even more of a concerted effort to contact your Senators and make sure that they won't be conned into voting for this huge tax increase based on the global warming scam.

For those of you who need a refresher ... here are some details from Investor's Business Daily:

An analysis of Waxman-Markey by the Heritage Foundation projects that by 2035 it would reduce aggregate gross domestic product by $7.4 trillion. In an average year, 844,000 jobs would be destroyed, with peak years seeing unemployment rise by almost 2 million (see charts below).

Consumers would pay through the nose as electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket, as President Obama once put it, by 90% adjusted for inflation. Inflation-adjusted gasoline prices would rise 74%, residential natural gas prices by 55% and the average family's annual energy bill by $1,500.

Hit hardest by all this would be the "95% of working families" Obama keeps mentioning as being protected from increased taxation. They are protected, that is, unless they use energy. Then they'll be hit by this draconian energy tax.

And what would we get for all this pain? According to an analysis by Chip Knappenberger, administrator of the World Climate Report, the reduction of U.S. CO2 emissions to 83% below 2005 levels by 2050 -- the goal of the Waxman-Markey bill -- would reduce global temperature in 2050 by a mere 0.05 degree Celsius.

It's a scam, folks. It is not about the environment, it is about gaining power. It is not about creating jobs, because it won't. It will actually kill jobs. Speaking of that .........

    There is and always has been climate change. None of it is caused by man (or woman) nor has it ever been. The climate change is caused by the interaction of Earth with the Sun, as it travels its orbit around the Sun. The amount of dust particles from volcanoes and naturally caused fires along with water vapor contribute to temperature fluctuations. However, if it gets warmer in one area, there is a cooling off in another area. Earth naturally adjusts to temperature changes to keep the average world wide temperature fairly steady.

  • Read the Bill
    I saw a commentor on one of the news channels today discussing this bill. He said one of the provisions in this bill is EVERY HOME SOLD moving forward will require a federal inspector before being sold. The federal inspector will then provide a list of things the homeowner has to do to have the home brought up to the new energy codes at the homeowner's expense prior to the sale of the house. Since almost all homes built in this country will not meet any requirements they set, can you imagine the sheer expense everyone will have to do to sell their house? Considering a huge number of people are underwater already in their home values versus what they owe on it, it would cause even more to walk away from their homes and hand them over to the banks. The banks will in turn to go the government and ask for funds to change out the windows, the insulation, etc. etc to bring these homes up to code. It would be cheaper for the taxpayers to bulldoze them all down if this ever becomes law.

    When will this insanity stop???!!!

The question remains - has anyone investigated any future positions offered to those who voted Yes? It will be interesting to see where those voted out in 2010 will be working. Green Peace?

    It has been a while since I took any related classes, but aren't Representatives up for re-election every two years? (not just those who voted for the bill)

    I suspect Neal was trying to stress that the 44 were Democrats who may be considered vulnerable in the next election. (i.e. Blue Dogs in Red States)

  • Update on the traitors, Part 3
    I was able to talk to a staffer from LoBiondo's office. She pretty much said that their district's constituents were borderline liberals and the vote was to protect the district against a "potential democrat challenge in 2010". Why not just put a gun to your head and pull the trigger? The result is the same.

    CAN YOU BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE? I do hope that anyone who resides in his district raises hell--we don't need spinless RINOS in Congress. This is exactly the kind of thinking that is sending this country down a very, very scary path towards a socialist/statist hell.

    I think it has finally happened. The ship of state has been hijacked by Marxist pirates. They have been infiltrating the crew for decades. And, as they have finally manipulated the Marxist-in-Chief into position, the sleeper cells have been activated. The question has been: are they like the dog that finally catches the car and doesn’t know what to do with it? I fear that it is much worse than that. Sure, the vast majority are mind-numbed zombies called fellow travelers, or useful idiots; and in the end may not be capable. These are people with no sense of history, economics or religious philosophy. Part of the take-over process is to systematically dumb down the educational system with state controlled education. So, this is not the classless society they were promised. There are the master manipulators of the elite class and the army of administrator’s class. The elite live as kings and royalty. The administrators live way better lives than the rest of the population who have become slaves of the state. That is not to say that the pirates can successfully navigate the ship of state through the murky waters of global competition. This is what is so terrifying. It may well be that the ship of state will be intentionally run aground. It seems that there is another step to the revolution. Capitalism must be destroyed to build the socialist utopia. Just as the masses have been convinced that there is no God, they have been convinced that free enterprise and free markets are evil. What the masses don’t realize is that the vacuum will be filled with another god. The State is the new god. Images of the High Priest will be ubiquitous.



    This did not happen overnight. Bear with me as I mix metaphors. We have been the proverbial frog in the pan of cold water and the flame has been slowly applied. And we are getting cooked. When you sell your soul in a great Faustian bargain, that is what you should expect in the end. However, all is not lost. In Faust, an angel intervenes at the last moment. There is forgiveness and redemption. Nature takes its course. As the lust for power continues, the pirates gradually go mad. After killing the goose that lays the golden eggs and confiscating all of the seed corn, they engage in one final drunken orgy of excess. The ship of state runs aground. The passengers who had been held hostage now escape and throw the passed out drunken rats overboard. The tide comes in and the ship of state is freed to begin another voyage in the direction of freedom and liberty.

    3 of these hacks were from NJ and 1 was from NY so I guess the next trip i take to fla ill be re routing myself to avoid these states.they are obviously run by corrupt hack moonbats.rush was 100% on the ball when he got outta this troubled area of the country.

    Why do we keep going after our own. Yes the 8 republicans voted for the bill and need to be hammered but why do we leave it there. You need to list the 212 democrats who voted for it and try to replace them with conservatives. The democrats have 257 seats in the house and only need 218 votes to pass whatever they want. We get so busy going after the "RINOS" and forget all about the others who always vote against us. Only 44 democrats voted against this bill. We need to get at least 50 seats back in the house, go after the democrats.

    Although he lost eight votes from the fringe Republicans, I have to say I was thoroughly entertained as Minority Leader John Boehner, much to Waxman’s objection and chagrin, took over an hour to read through the 300 page amendment to the bill that was distributed by the Democrats at during the 3 a.m. darkness Friday morning. Boy you want to talk about federal interference that will go all the way to the local level! READ THE BILL! Example: each town, no matter the size will have to have a federally trained building inspector and you will have a required energy inspection for your home. You will have to meet the requirement of bringing it to federal mandated standards before you can sell it! Boehner summed it up best by saying the bill is "a bureaucratic nightmare. It will cost jobs, depress real estate prices, put the government in the part of the economy, where it has no role."

    It seems the phones have gone dead for a couple of the RINOS on that list. I was able to get through to a staffer for the IL rep. He told me that the phone had been ringing "nonstop" with protest calls.

    Let these traitors know how you feel. Fire them and replace them with conservatives in 2010. That's what really scares scum like Copy and Commoner--the prospect that they will lose control of both houses. And they know it. That's why they're out in full force today in damage control mode.

    Businesses have the money. Businesses have the capability. Now businesses are one step closer to having the incentive to reduce the pollution that they are pumping into the atmosphere. One step closer to the era of polluting as usual ending.

    The one flaw in voting these clowns out of office in the next election is they've already done their damage.

    We need to find a way to express our displeasure with these nut-cases BEFORE that happens.

    I charge that ANY member of Congres who did not read, or does not understand, this (or any) bill they are voting on has violated their oath of office and has failed to represent us as the Constitution requires. That should be enough to cause their immediate removal from office.

Then point out some really stupid stuff that was contained in that bill that Joe 6Pack and other main street types can relate to, and get really pissed off about.

    Congratulations America, I think you just signed away your future. America is now on a dead end collision course with becoming a 3rd world nation. Anyone in here ever been to a 3rd world nation? I think its safe for everyone to tell their kids even that America will be 3rd world unless Obama lawlessness is overturned.And remember we are just in the Chairman's first year.
