Senator James Inhofe is calling for an investigation into the report that was suppressed by the EPA because it didn't fit with the administration's agenda for climate change.

Here's a prime example of what happens when the government gets into the business of providing subsidies for alternative fuels.

When are we supposed to start feeling the effects of Barack Obama's stimulus plan? The administration continues to push back the goal post.

Did you know that the biggest beneficiary of the government's bank rescue program isn't even a bank?

An Oklahoma legislature blames the current economic climate on .... Gays? Oh gawd, here we go.

Turns out that the CBO forgot to calculate the economic impact of imposing billions in new operating and production costs with this cap-and-trade legislation.

The Heritage Foundation explains show Barack Obama's missile defense plan is putting America at risk.

No one in the state of Virginia can get painkillers right now because someone hacked into the state's prescription drug database.

Nine out of ten people in Great Britain are worried that the government is going to cut healthcare services. Duhhhh

Speaking of government healthcare, the government in Great Britain is promising patients 'enforceable rights' to high standards of care.

Nancy Pelosi will not commit to giving the public five days (as the Obama administration promised) to read the healthcare bill before it is voted on. She knows that the more we know the harder it will be to pass this monstrosity.

Only 10% of Massachusetts voters say the quality of health care has gotten better as a result of their reform plan, according to Rasmussen.

What others are saying

  • Buffalo Farts
Well if grain is what is causing cow farts to pollute the atmosphere why don't they just feed them hay?
  • You okay Frank?
"Inhofe, isn't he the Senator that believes the world was born roughly about 6,000 years ago?"

Was there a purpose for that comment? The answer is "NO!"

Regarding the Patriot Act being crammed down democrat throats. The 107th Congress was 51.5% repubs and the Senate was 50/50 (not filibuster proof). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/107th_United_States_Congress
Try to get off the repub versus dem argument. The ACTION of politicians are what matter, not their political party. All should be kicked out. All should have been kicked out since the 1990s. Your representative is just as bad as mine.
  • Yo, Frank ...
The alibi "but he/she/it/they/somebody did it!" is old, worn out, tired - and doesn't change diddly-squat.

If they done wrong, doesn't give you the right to do wrong ...

Or, as my late mother said (so often and so loud I can still hear these words in her voice): "If every one of your dumb little friends climbed to the very top of the Empire State building and jumped off, I suppose you'd have to do it to"

Didn't work too well then, but since I achieved the age of majority, that bit of advice has kept me out of a good deal of mischief. Thanks, Mom
  • Frank
I didn't disagree that they moved too quickly on the Patriot Act. My point was that 131 pages in a day is do-able. 1300 pages in a day isn't. They are moving the wrong direction with this stuff, so it should be obvious why people have a problem with it.
  • Just following the previous Speaker/Majority Leader
    Kansas Woman,
You are correct in the number of pages, however I differ with you on the pre-vote reading or discussions of the Act..
    libraryjournal.com/article/CA245044.html
    Read the first paragraph.
  • @Frank
Frank, the Patriot Act was 131 pages and they had 24 hours. No comparison to this debacle.
  • Frank
Why do we have a problem with that!?! You are kidding right?

I think many of us have learned a lot about how Washington works here in the last year or two. And I'm talking about the down and dirty details. Personally, I had no idea they weren't reading the bills previously. I find it assinine that it has been going on this long.

That does not excuse it! It is still wrong and hopefully we'll be able to stop it.

And what do Inhofe's religious beliefs have to do with wanting a suppressed report to be released?
  • Inhofe and the 6,000 year old earth!
Inhofe, isn't he the Senator that believes the world was born roughly about 6,000 years ago?
  • She's just following past Speakers actions!
How much time did Majority Leader Frist and Speaker Hasert give the Dems to read the Patriot Act before they crammed it down their throats?
Pelosi is just following what other Speakers have down in the past, why do you have you a problem with that?
  • Pelosi
How can Pelosi remain in that office?
She is unAmerican and proved it already. Get rid of her.
  • Cap and Trade
My thanks for the link as well, Strike. Engineers need to run the world!
  • gays / economy
Ok, this whole thing in Oklahoma is silly, but isn't Barney Frank gay? Doesnt he, more than almost any one person, have a lot of blame for this economy?
  • cow farts
Actually buffalo farts and cow farts are different. Cows raised on farms are fed grain instead of the grass their stomachs were designed to eat, so they make lots more methane by burping and farting than a buffalo on the plains. Not that it fracking matters much anyway, just offering another worthless bit of info.
  • When are we going .....
    to impeach Nancy Pelosi?
  • Oklamhoma
"The proclamation states: "Whereas, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis; and Whereas, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse ,and many other forms of debauchery". This is NOT an indictment of gays but an indictment of this country. We have lost our moral compass and are reaping the results. My only complaint is that the Proclamation left out total moral decay, immorality and self-serving behavior of politicians in DC. They are equally responsbile for destroying what once was a great country.
  • Thanks, Pelosi for your crap and raid bill
This bill should be called crap and raid. It has nothing to do with energy independence/jobs but everything to do with lining certain people's wallets. It's nothing short of a massive, statist wealth re-distribution plan courtesy of the dimocrap party.
  • stimulus money
I used to work for the Stanford Linear Accelerator. Entirely funded by the DOE, I always figured it was a good return on my tax money.
Having spent the last 20 years in the wealth producing sector of the economy, I take a slightly different tack these days. So, it was with interest that I went to the SLAC web site and see that they will be receiving stimulus money to the tune of $50 million or more, with more coming. So...how do you stimulate wealth production by giving money to wealth consumers? One observation...SLAC is in a solidly Democratic district, just down the road from PelosiLand.
  • EPA Report
Just another example of transparency I take it. We're 6 months into his administration and Obama has succeeded into making W look like Jefferson. Hell, Obama is making Carter look like Eisenhower. As for the report itself, if this is indeed true then the bill that passed should be expunged as it was passed under false pretenses. Not surprising though as these socialists will stop at nothing i obtaining heir dystopia.
  • Proofread? What for?
Your text should say "An Oklahoma Legislator" instead of "An Oklahoma Legislature". I thought the whole legislature was coming down (?) on the gays until I read the article.
  • Cap and trade
Ok so cap and trade is to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Since humans breathe out carbon dioxide it stands to reason the more humans that are born the more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. My question is will we all be required to pay a carbon tax on breathing and will every parent of a newborn be taxed on their carbon emissions? Kind of reminds me of the cow fart theory. Why didn't we have this problem when there were millions of buffalo on the plains as far as the eye could see? Are buffalo farts different? Should we replace cattle with buffalo?
  • heritage foundation
the heritage foundation is just a mouthpiece for the neo-cons. i don't trust them one bit. sorta like democrats get their news from dailykos.
  • Good link
    Thanks for the link Strike.

Good info. Sent it to all my family and friends.
  • Global Warming Report
So they have a report that doesn't fit in with the boilerplate of the administration. What to do? Well, let's begin the policy of personal distruction. This analyst, Alan Carlin, had better get in the gym and work out the glutes because the anal exams are going to be coming fast and furious.

Cap and trade is a scam. It's about the economy stupid, not greenhouse gases.
  • Great piece on so-called "Global Warming"
    http://www.questar.com/1OurCompany/newsreleases/2009_news/UVUSpeech.pdf
  • Oklahoma legislature
"Deeply disturbed" - at least they got that part right!
