Exactly what is going on in Honduras? This column covers it very nicely. It's important because our illustrious president is on the wrong side here. He knows most Americans aren't smart enough to figure that out.

Billy Mays passed away over the weekend. He, too, made the unfortunate mistake of going Tango Uniform in the wake of Michael Jackson's death.

Barack Obama wants the Senate to pass global warming legislation only after it passes it healthcare reform plan.

Jack Cashill has new insight into the speculation that Bill Ayers ghostwrote Barack Obama's Dreams from my Father. It's beginning to look like there was more than one radical at the word processor on this one.

Another great column from George Will about Americans' unreasonable expectations on healthcare costs and how we will regret "fixing" the system.

Iranian authorities have cracked down on protestors; thousands are in jail and hundreds of people are missing.

North Korea announced it can enrich uranium, which is a simpler method to build nuclear weapons than reprocessing plutonium.

Thomas Sowell explores how more Americans can consider themselves "conservative" and yet the Republican Party has nothing going for it.

The "powers that be" decided to back off on plans to investigate ACORN for committing voter fraud. Getting too close to PrezBO?

Meanwhile, Hugo Chavez says that the United States had something to do with the coup in Honduras.

The Obama administration appears to be considering issuing an executive order to govern the indefinite imprisonment of alleged Al Qaeda operatives.

Here's a must-read ... the man with unusual access to the White House: Andy Stern, the head of the Service Employees International Union. Yep, a union leader.

Today the Supreme Court will decide its final three cases, including Sonia Sotomayor's firefighter discrimination case.

The truth about the cost of Massachusetts healthcare program isn't helping the Barack Obama camp right now.

Here's why Slobbering Barney's plan to relax mortgage standards on new condos is a disaster waiting to happen.

States are having a tough time finding the funds to pay for unemployment benefits and some are expected to borrow up to $17 billion by next year.

A charter school in Los Angeles apparently won't let its class valedictorian deliver her graduation speech because she participated in a sit-in to protest teacher layoffs.

What others are saying

  • Octavio, please!
"...Hondurans show some real respect for their Costitution..."

I wasn't the Honduran people, it was a military coup for God's sake! Is THAT constitutional? I don't know how things work in Honduras, but I'm willing to bet that if the president does something that is constitutionally questionable, having the military take over, kidnapping him and taking him ouot of the country isn't the propoer way to handle it. Of course Obama isn't going to endorse such a thing, just like every other leader in the Org. of American States.
  • Dreams of My Father
Cashill is a nut and a liar and totally divorced from reality. Dreams of My Father was written before Ayer's book. It's far more likely Ayers, given his record on this subject, plagiarized Obama.

Dreams and Audacity are not from different authors, their different books. One is a semi-honest biography, the other is pure political BS.

He'll be telling us Obama isn't a US citizen next.
  • Honduras? Seriously?
It took The American Idol One several weeks to even acknowledge there were protesters being run over in Iran and even then His Telepromptership did not stand on the right side of the issue to "not look like we're meddling". Then the Hondurans show some real respect for their Costitution and he SPRINGS to the mic to condemn an act of Democracy!!!! Helloo, Americans are you even awake! One clue after another of what side Our Super Cool Person in Chief (remember, he doesn't like the Commander thingy) will take when we come to face these matter, and we will!!
  • Fauxbozo taking notes on Honduras?
Dare I say that Fauxbozo may be taking note of the idea of a vote to change the Constitution to eliminate term limits for the president.
  • Supreme Court decides in favor of the New Haven Firefighters
Oh my! The system worked! Did we actually witness a miracle! A precident has been made for reverse-discrimination!

Could this be a begining for racial checks and balances on the job?
  • Celebrity Deaths
What the heck's going on with all these people passing away all of a sudden? Four well-known people in less than a week? Just too bizarre.... Gosh, makes you think... Ed McMahon was fairly old, I suppose, but the other three were still so damned YOUNG! Makes you think... Anyone could go at any time. Scary!
  • The rest of the reading assignments.
Gee, never I saw them dropping the investigations into their own corruption coming. That’s what they meant by cleaning up corruption, sweep theirs under the rug.

I’d like to think we had something to do with Honduras’ fidelity to their Constitution, but hussein has pretty much said he’s staying out of the freedom spreading business. Of course, we’ll still be blamed for any setbacks to the world revolution or jihad, so don’t expect any good to come from it.

How much you want to bet hussein’s EO closely tracks President Bush’s policy, in word or deed? How much you want to bet his supporters either don’t notice, or care enough to have their way on the issue if they do? Chump change.

I’d be more surprised if the communist international, er SEIU, didn’t have special access to hussein. You can’t tell already by his policies?

The firefighter decision is timely however it goes.

The msm will have to smother that quick to keep it localized ‘til too late. It’s another reason hussein is prioritizing the health care takeover.

Someday we’ll learn our lesson about barney’s plans…I keep telling myself year after year.

Tax revenue is drying up with growth, 100% of nothing is nothing after all. It must be former President Bush’s fault. Can we put the wagon back behind the horse again now? No, that would be crazy, we’ve got to try and reinvent the wagon wheels first. No, stop, I was just kidding…

Sound’s like a good excuse for everyone at that charter school to say “Mail mine,” and start the parties early. Don’t do anything too stupid, but do celebrate.
  • The crew was busy this am.
Freedom loses its’ greatest champion, the USA, and socialism gains one when the dp is in charge. They will kneecap the Columbians resisting FARC soon. I have a hard time arguing they are just ignorant, misinformed, or stupid, when I bother to try.

Never was a MJ fan, leaned toward Hendrix, Zeppelin, and Skynyrd when the Jackson 5 were around. Got more of him than I cared for this weekend, he’s answering to God for whatever he did or didn’t do while he was here, RIP, and give me some peace too.

I guess pitchmen are fast becoming the rock drummers (or overweight comedians) of tv.

Hussein wants to take over healthcare first so they’ll have us under their thumb before they finish wrecking the economy with their Strangle and Loot energy plan. I don’t blame em, there’s going to be some real torqued folks when its’ effects hit, whether people figure out how it happened or not. The dp’s only out will be to blame it on the GOP, but I wouldn’t underestimate the dp/msm’s ability to do just that.

If you read enough of somebody, you get a feel for their style and even their moods. There’s always the chance hussein used ayers heavily as a style reference, but an ayers ghostwrite is another reasonable explanation for why hussein’s education records are such a big secret (I hope he writes better than his wife). The contrast is probably glaring. If hussein didn’t write his books, it’s faint praise for him. His books told me more about him than he would want me to know.

At least the mad mullahs won’t be waterboarding any of those jailed protestors. Drills and butane torches are another matter.

The nork’s between-the-lines news release is anybody with the cash to pay lil’ kim can now enrich uranium. This is going to get ugly.

Saving the Sowell for tonight, I’ve been reading him since elementary school. If he ran for President, he’d have my vote, and he’d be better on the SCOTUS than most lawyers who claim to specialize in the constitution.
  • Sonia & the Constitution
Sonia Sotomayor's bigotry has been corrected by the Supreme Court who stated that RACE was indeed a factor that should have been included in the court case since it was the deciding factor in refusing the firefighters promotion. Thank God someone can actually read our Construction and its Amendments. Too bad Sonia cannot.
  • Conspiracies!!!
    Neal:

Can't we put all the crackpot theories about Obama's book being ghost-written into the same category as the Great Birth Certificate Conspiracy?
  • Chuck
Great Post. Sowell is terrific. Had to giggle at the "walker" comment.

There is a poll about when Ron Paul should announce that he will be running for President. This may be his time.

    http://www.ronpaul.com/
  • Billy Mayes
I think I'll miss Billy. Irritating voice, a too big smile, selling schlock.

I just saw a commercial that would have been right up his alley. "The Potty Putter" A little putting green to go infront of the toilet so you can practice your short game while,,, well,,, while, you know. And its for real.
    OMG
  • Honduran Law
“President Obama expressed concern over President Manuel Zelaya's arrest.” By all appearances this was a legal act by the Honduran military with the approval that nation's government. Zelaya knowingly disregarded his nation’s laws after losing in both his nation’s congress and the courts. When he ordered the military to cooperate with his scheme and the leading general refused, so he fired him. The US government’s concern should be how to handle a Venezuelan supported Nicaraguan invasion. Look for Obama to support this immoral action.
  • Acorn
Speaking of Acorn and the census. I heard one of the questions on the census is how many people work in the household and what time do they leave for work. Isn't this about the same as putting a sign up in your yard saying no one home but please come in and help yourself.
  • George Will column
I am very depressed after reading all the anti-freemarket comments made about Will's column. Will the government health system provide me with anti-depression medication at no cost ?
  • Thomas Sowell
Nicely done! It has been hard to tell people on either side how I feel about being conservative but being let down by Republican leadership. It's wholly unrealistic to expect the party to be held up soley by the Christian Coalition or to stand strong by appealing to everybody, ala the DNC. Collin Powell seems to think we have to water the party down.( and no, people don't want to pay more taxes, Mr. Powell!) It's watered down enough already. Pat Buchannan wants to see it take a hard right turn. There are a bunch of us, myself included, who feel the Libertarian Party offers a haven for disaffected conseravtives. It certainly doesn't help to have Mark Sanford meltdown and other former high profile types stumble. Hey, we're all human. When you are in public office, act like you're in public office, not at a frat house! But the state of the union where the Republicans is concerned is like a McCartney tune..."Band on the Run". The upside, the Democrats are bungling along and dragging the country into the abyss. At some point, everyone will get tired of their act. By then, the young man( the 14 year old )who shone so brightly at GOPAC may be old enough to run for office. I'll inch my way up to the voting booth in my walker and cast my vote...if I live that long. Ron Paul, where ya at, buddy?
  • And...
Around and around we go. This world is so screwed up...
  • At least the Hondurans stand up for the rule of law
It looks like the Hondurans will stand up for the rule of law. Unfortunately, that has been lost on the American people. As long as they have their, American Idol, Pro Wrestling, and Nascar, they will not pay attention to the things that really can have an effect on their livelyhoods.
  • Valedictorians
Valedictorians are denied the right to speak frequently. Any time they mention God. But that does not seem to bother Boortz.
