Here's a Wall Street Journal piece about the Cap and Tax proposal. You may read it, most of the dumb masses won't. Too bad.

Something else the dumbest among us should read. Government health plans ALWAYS ration health care. Period.

North Korea says that if the United States provokes "a second Korean war" it would wipe us off the map. Those be some fightin' words. This is what happens when our leadership projects weakness.

And speaking of weakness ... Dick Morris believes that Barack Obama is showing weakness in the face of North Korea and Iran. I wonder what his first clue was.

John Kerry is a world-class jerk.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon says that threat is "silliness."

Even if the Democrats don't get their government healthcare plan, the unions will find a way to receive their thanks in the form of special tax breaks for union health plans.

Get out the pitchforks ... Citigroup will raise salaries by as much as 50% to compensate for a reduction in annual bonuses. Citigroup says this is necessary to stop the outflow of capable executives .. but government-lovers won't see it that way.

You know the myth ... more tax dollars will mean better education? Here are some facts on why that is simply not the case.

Here's Slobbering Barney Frank's explanation as to why this fancy new financial consumer-protection agency will be good for financial institutions.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is seeking an additional review of an EPA finding that would regulate greenhouse gas emissions, saying that the findings were based on cherry-picked data and manipulated by agency officials.

The Politico seems to think that there is going to be a Republican resurgence within the next year. Based on what? Mark Sanford?

The great state of California could run out of money by July 28th. Think the Mexicans would buy California from us? We could trade California for some oil. It would be the "Fruits and Nuts for Oil" program.

This line about 46 million Americans not having health insurance is not accurate because it does not reflect exactly who those people are and why they are "uninsured."

The taxpayers of Massachusetts are paying $2 million a month to house homeless people in motels.

Barack Obama could save $45 million by eliminating the job of U.S. trade representative.

It's been proposed before, but several members of Congress want to take redistricting out of legislative hands and give control to nonpartisan, independent panels.

What others are saying

  • Media and Crap and trade
Well Farrah and Michael Jackson died today. Crap and trade goes to vote in the house tommorrow. What is the media going to flood the news with tonight? CELEBRITY!!!

Make your calls folks.. tell your friends..No one will hear about crap and trade(tax) on the news tonight.
  • GOP President
It was a GOP President who last year declared North Korea was no longer a threat. Same guy who incorrectly said Iraq was a threat. Son of the GOP President who let Saddam remain in office after making the Iraqi people believe we would overthrow him. Remember the few hundred thousand poor slobs that Saddam slaughtered? People who remember that may not share your glowing memories of a GOP President.

I didn't understand your point about Tillman -- are you saying it wasn't heroic because it was friendly fire or it wasn't heroic because of the shameful cover up that followed it?
  • Cowboy
Great post! And yes we haven't actually SEEN OBL and probably wouldn't want to.
  • The weakness to danger correlation is more than abstract.
History, including ours, is littered with real examples from the Barbary War to the Gulf War (The Korean War is a particularly pertinent one). To paraphrase someone else (Fehrenbach, I think, or someone quoted from one of his books), You can bomb a country to rubble from the air, but to pacify it, make it productive again, and keep it for civilization, you must be willing to put boots on the ground.

Because we finally enforced the GWCFA we found out about the Khan Proliferation network and shut it down for a while, Kadaffy came clean on his WMD programs (which were much more diverse and advanced than we thought), nobody ever has to worry about saddam and his psycho sons again, he’s not tying down a large chunk of our military strength, the Iraqis have one of the most democratic and freest muslim countries (with the fastest growing economy), we killed a bunch of terrorists while handing aq and the mad mullahs a solid battlefield defeat, and we are in a much better position to apply real pressure with the credible threat of force if the mad mullahs don’t stop their nuke program. The word also knows that a GOP President, at least, will hold them to their agreements with us with force, if necessary, and when he or she says comply or be deposed, they mean it, and the US Military can make it happen. I could go on, but that’s enough to prove that far from dying for nothing, what the US Service Members who gave life, limb, comfort, and time out of their lives to do what the dp/msm said couldn’t be done (yet again), is staggering. They did all that in 6 years, plus Afghanistan, while taking fewer casualties than we took in two hours on the second day at Sharpsburg.

Pat Tillman died by friendly fire while scouting ahead to lead his men to the aid of an ambushed patrol in Afghanistan. Obl is either a smear on a rock, or so messed up they can’t even put him in front of a camera. History will be much kinder to President Bush than it will be most of his critics where the GWOT is concerned.

Project weakness in a rough neighborhood or bar, and see how long it is before somebody tries you. Fewer will try you if they think you not only can, but will give them a bellyful of whatever they dish.
  • Frank
You do mean mentally disabled dont you!
  • North Korea
NK is trash talking because the US is not blinking and running to offer concessions again. Give it time and we will awake to a new NK dictator one morning. Why do you really think that the “Youngest Son” went to beg for China’s support when his daddy passes away in the night. Hey, Frank the military does not want everyone serving nowdays, just the best.
  • Frank & Aedyn
Frank, although we may not agree on all subjects, let me be the first to THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.I also served in the same theater, and I understand from where you speak.

    Aedyn:

"I'm torn between laughing my ass off or digging a bomb shelter."

Both,I'm laughing my ass off, to keep from crying, at the direction my Country seems to be heading. Also working on the bomb shelter in TENN. on my sisters farm.

Side Note: You caught me off guard last week with "Lilly Livered Coward" and now you hit us with "Pussyfootin". Haven't heard that verbiage sense my Grandmother was with us.
    Keep'em coming,It lightens the gloom.

PS: Hope the cat are well!!

Sorry folks, didn't mean to go chat room, Just had to say it!!
  • North Korea big talk...
Okay so North Korea has nukes...great. Alot of people get all upset about little countries having nukes. I now know that nukes are not the big dog weapons anymore. Sure they are still a big problem especially if they are built into a suitcase or other small portable delivery system, but the funny thing is that our government has us worried that could actually be hit with a nuclear missle of some kind.

What if I told you it is literally impossible for ANY country to hit us with any type of projectile based weapon? The new big dog weapon out there amongst the World Superpowers is the Scalar Weapon System. This technology was first used to help our military forces get a three demensional workup of the battlefeild in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. Now that same technology is capable of being amplified and tuned to whatever frequency is required. It can be used to take down ANY aircraft/rocket/ICBM anywhere in the atmosphere at any time and it can also be used to destroy whole cities. There are even some rumblings out there that it can actually intensify inclement weather like hurricanes and to some extent act kind of like a remote control for storms. The technology deals with high frequency electromagnetic wavelengths directed at the Ionosphere and reflected at any target anywhere on the planet. Sounds kinda like science fiction right? Well so did the Atom bomb and the Hydrogen bomb. This is bleeding edge highly sophisticated technology. At this time the only countries I know of that have this technology in working form is the US and Russia. I am sure that if the Chinese do not have it they are not far behind. DARPA was key in creating this technology for the US. These missle defense systems that we keep hearing about that Russia is so opposed to us installing in Poland and other places is actually this new system. It does not fire missles to intercept other missles, it simply just activates and destroys the missle instantly. Heck this technology can be used to kill a missle even before it is launched. This is the new bad boy. This is a completely uncoventional weapon and it is by far the most destructive weapon on Earth as far as I know. The nuclear age is over. We are now entering a whole new era of warfare.
  • Massachusetts paying $2 million per month
And Mass. is also giving welfare recipients free cars, preregistered, with pre-paid insurance and complimentary AAA membership. Why? One party rule. The phenomenon explained: http://irwinsplace.blogspot.com/2009/06/funny-thing-happened-on-way-to-quorum.html
  • GOP
The GOP right now is a laughing stock, even among people who voted Republican since Eisenhower until the Cheney/Bush years and most then voted for Obama. They are a collection of neo-con politicians and handlers and no leadership whatsoever. In my view, the GOP needs to do the following to be taken seriously again.

    1. Get a message, some real ideas and solutions to the issues
    2. Viable, electable candiates with no connection to Cheney/Bush
    3. Leadership that will take charge of the party and have to courage to lead and not be under the thumb of a radio host.

Note: the radio show host I am refering to is NOT Neil. Neil does have a lot of good points especially when it comes to education
  • @By CowboyUp @ 06/25/09 10:39:56 AM
"He’s right about perceptions of weakness being dangerous. Americans will die needlessly because of it."

In abstract terms, sure, weakness correlates to danger. But in real terms -- in terms of putting boots on the ground like we did in Iraq, so-called "strength" correlates to far greater danger. Pull your head out of the sand. Americans died needlessly in Iraq. Contractors whose beheadings were filmed; Pat Tillman whose heroic death was turned into propoganda and lies by our military; thousands of soldiers. And what do we have to show for it? Osama bin Laden is still at large. That's an outrgae Bush can never live down.
  • GOP won't change....
as long as there is no real need to. Let me explain....

Most people only vote for dems because they are upset with the GOP's behavior. So the dems, due to no real ability, logic or aptitude win a few elections in spite of their ridiculousness (mean while declaring it's proof that liberals are the majority). After the people have had all the ignorance they can stand at the hands of the dems, they crawl back to the GOP seeing as there is no viable 3rd party.

The GOP knows this pattern and is willing to endure a few years in exile while the people get their fill of "dem stupidity".

So why should we expect the GOP to improve? This is a little vacation for them to be out of the spotlight and frying pan.

The people need to demand more and hold them accountable. We've achieved nothing if we simply re-elect the same GOP leadership that has been their all along.

No need to vote dem, just vote out all GOP incumbents until you get a group that actually has our interests in mind.
  • John Kerry, Wcj., sounds like a title.
Thanks to Mel Brooks, among much else, ever time I think of kerry, I perfectly picture and hear him saying, “But I love my people, PULL!” That he would even be a contender for the nomination says a lot about the dp, and the ignorance of far too many Americans. The dp attacks what they fear, and they fear Palin.

The unions didn’t hock themselves to their eyeballs and put all that money into dp coffers for nothing.

Not all the execs at the failing companies taken over by the government are to blame for their failure. Some were doing a good job, they don’t have to and won’t stay there to be pilloried and held back for those who were (and are mostly gone now and are busy wrecking other companies) to blame.

We haven’t even dug out of his first mess and barney is already pushing lending institutions to approve more high-risk loans. This new agency looks like the tool he’ll use to force them to do so. Why not? They ( it’s not just barney) got away with it before.

I’m amazed the USCoC could still get their hands on the EPA data, that was a more strongly defended and better kept secret than our nuclear weapon designs and MIRV technology in the clinton administration.

I’m laughing at the GOP resurgence idea. Votes against the dp don’t equate to votes for the GOP. You don’t have real support until people want to vote for you.
  • "If you feel hardness, retreat. If you feel softness, advance." - Mao
A second Korean War? We never finished the first one, we signed an armistice, which the norks have deliberately and repeatedly broken over the years. If they fire a missile in line with Hawaii, we should at least, not only shoot down the missile, but take out the site that launched it. Well dug in lil’ kim might be more circumspect about provoking us if he knew we had a ready supply of bunker busting nukes. That would upset the same people who were proven wrong about the Cold War (by the soviets’ own records, no less), and we can’t have that. It’s not sporting, and we must let mass murdering mortal enemies give us their Sunday punch first.

The chicoms paid nothing of consequence for the Tiananmen massacre, and their economic surge (which saved the party from losing control) was no miracle.

Morris’ old client, wild bill, gave the chicoms, the biggest patent and copyright pirates on the planet, our entire patent database, and gave them Most Favored trading status in the biggest market on the planet, ours. They would have lost power and the Chinese people gained their freedom, if wild bill hadn’t saved the last and greatest hope for the world revolution. Wild bill probably holds the highest medals the KGB and chicoms give (like other prominent democrats secretly awarded “Hero of the Soviet Union”). I think he was a soviet asset sold to the chicoms when the soviet union collapsed.

He’s right about perceptions of weakness being dangerous. Americans will die needlessly because of it.
  • "Think the Mexicans would buy California from us?"

Does that mean no more Pelosi??? I love that idea! Too bad all the friickin' Californians move to my state to f it up the way they did CA.
  • Dopey Dick Morris
For some reason, Boortz seems to love Dick Morris ($$ involved somehow?). How can Morris write an article on North Korea that mentions George Bush but not mention the fact that less than a year ago Bush removed North Korea from the terror watch list? All Morris has to say about Bush is how strong he looked to the world when we invaded Iraq? Hey Dick, I don't know if you noticed but invading Iraq, despite the awesome benefit of making us look tough, was a mistake. Morris is a buffoon and should be ignored.
  • N Korea is right to stand up against the Big Satan
With America being the big bully on the block, I don't blame any country in the world for standing for themselves against this country! After Bush and his Wars of Self-Pleasure's who can blame them!
I am a 100% Disabled Marine Corps Corporal (Vietnam) and can handle any of your tripe/BS you care to fling my way, unlike the 99.5% who had for whatever the reason, not to serve in the military since 9-11!
There are very few excuses not to serve, here's a few acceptable reasons: underage, overage, pregnant,in jail, mental cases and really being disabled!
  • Kerry
He has always been a jerk. I wouldn't say he is world-class though.

During the debates when he was running with Edwards (another cheater), they wanted to nuke North Korea, hmmmmm

    The opposite of name calling.
    Card Stacking:
The selective use of names or half-truths.
    Bandwagon:
Appeals to the desire, common to most of use,to follow the crowd.
    Plain Folks:

    Transfer:
Carries over authority, sanction and prestige of something we respect or dispute,to something the speaker would want to you to accept.

  • "How did we get sooooooooo dependent on government? (I am in the minority. I can take care of myself.)"

I'm right there with you bud. But in today's world, that doesn't make us just a minority, it makes us the enemy.
  • Churn
How come my stomach churns when I look at this website
Read a book called Obama's Blackberry. Funny as all.
Neal, Kerry would see your post and think, at least I am world-class...
is it possible to be a politico and be a reasonably good person, just wondering
    done venting
  • Japan in WW2
I'm pretty sure that Japan took our threats during WW2 just before the drop of little boy and fat man as "silliness" as well.
  • Barney Frank
Neal, no comments about the slobbering Barney Frank and his latest on relaxing Fannie and Freddie requirements for condos? The man has the gall to say he wasn't a part of the mortgage debacle, and yet here he goes again? Another clueless pol who knows how many "dumb masses" there are that believe - hook, line and sinker.
  • Wipeout
I'm torn between laughing my ass off or digging a bomb shelter.

It "seems" incredulous that N. Korea would have the manpower and/or equipment to wipe out the USA, but maybe he has help. From who? Russia, China, Iran...take your pick.

We need to stop pussyfootin' around and board that ship regardless of the threats.

What we don't know CAN hurt us.
  • Fighting words?
What tripe! It's like an ant threatening an elephant. The big difference is that an elephant has the sense to ignore the ant & the US doesn't have the sense to ignore piss ants like North Korea.

If we ignore their threats, they won't be able to use those threats to rally suport from their people.
  • It appears that Americans want to be weak
It appears that America wants to be weak. After all the Obama got a majority vote. (People get the government that they want.)

So, when the Norks or Ahmadinejad launch a nuclear tipped missile over US airspace what are all these people going to do when that EMP blast hits?

Oops, I already know that answer... It is the FEMA/Rex plan.

How did we get sooooooooo dependent on government? (I am in the minority. I can take care of myself.)
