Nearly 700,000 people called a government hot line this week, upset that they couldn't watch Entertainment Tonight or Jerry Springer because of the digital conversion.

As of right now, the Democrats don't have the votes to pass Obama's government-run health insurance plan.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says that Republicans' "right to filibuster" Sotomayor is still on the table.

Who is Frank Ricci?  He could turn out to be a very important person in the case against Sonia Sotomayor.

Some of the projects to 'stimulate the economy' are completely bogus.  Gee, didn't see this one coming.

Your tax dollars at work ... $50 million in stimulus money to buy fish food for farmers.  Fish farmers, I hope.

Is the Obama administration seriously considering bulldozing entire US cities that are shrinking?

Here's a way to implement a free-market solution to healthcare reform while saving the taxpayers $5 trillion dollars.  But that would make the Democrats very upset .. because you wouldn't rely on government for your healthcare!

Uh oh ... can Hugo Chavez survive in power now that he has upset the local unions?  Some predict that social upheaval is around the corner.

Farmers are having a real tough time right now ... with all these cool temperatures.  But don't tell that to the global warming crowd.  They still believe the Earth is getting warmer.

The Tax Foundation has created a calculator so you can figure out how much more money your family will be spending thanks to cap-and-trade policies.

The UK spends over $80 million a year translating documents that absolutely no one reads.

Best way to "do Boortz" is both, listen and read. There is a lot of info here that he never gets to.

And then the posters have links to info I've never seen before, some of it even usable.
  • Bulldoze Flint
Can you imagine the reaction if this had slipped the lips of George Bush? I haven't actually looked at the census numbers, but how much wouldja bet that Flint has a large minority population? And some president's administration comes along a proposes, "Hey, how 'bout we just flatten this place?"

Imagine if we followed this to it's logical conclusion: City is largely depopulated. Falling into disrepair as a result.... Sound like a certain Louisianna city that we all know? How 'bout we flatten that one?

Omigosh... the stuff this guy can get away with withou anyone questioning him.

Ya'll do know that the Bible predicts masses of people falling for a "strong delusion" as we go into the end times, right?
  • Razing Cities
In a sane country, people who misspell "cretin" as "cretan" would also lost their voter privileges.

I drove through Cairo, Illinois last year, once a prosperous river port. Now it's a creepy ghost town with literal ruins - collapsed buildings - downtown.

Razing decrepit neighborhoods is not a bad idea. Putting homeless people in abandoned homes won't work for the most part. They have no money or skills for home maintenance and there are no jobs for them. But one idea I didn't see in the article. Flint covers 34 square miles, presumably because it annexed a lot of surrounding territory. De-annex it. Contract the city limits to something manageable and de-incorporate the vacated territory.
  • I missed the bulldozer story.
Does that sound to anyone like FDR's "Little Piggies Plowed Under" program? Destroy crops and livestock to drive the prices back up, only in this case, destroy housing to increase scarcity and drive housing prices back up. There's nothing fresh or new about dp thinking or ideas.

The "affordable housing" folks wanting to make housing more scarce by destroying it, might be news to some of their supporters.
  • In a sane country, 700,000 people would get a letter next week...
...informing them their voter registration has been revoked. If these cretans (Joey Ramone taught me to count, lol) were just told, "The government is out of them, you'd better find one somewhere if you want to watch TV before December when we get more in," 98+% of them would have a converter before oprah came on today.

If the dp lacks the votes to pass obamacare, it must be really bad.

Isn't Ricci one of those firemen that got shafted out of a promotion and raise, with Sotomayor's help, because his skin wasn't dark enough?

Something on the programs that do actually stimulate the economy would be a much shorter article.
  • I don't get out much ...
I had the "opportunity" to drive through Manhattan yesterday. I don't know how much all the exhaust fumes from the "engine running but vehicle going noplace fast" traffic contributed to global warming, but it sure warmed up the area.

New York City is broke, New York state is broke, but they still found the money to change the signs that read "Triboro Bridge" to "Robert F Kennedy Bridge" - which made it hard for me to find the Triboro Bridge - I'd not have found it except while sitting in stationary traffic, I saw a sign that read "Triboro Bridge Now RFK Bridge".

Gawd, these gub'mint "public servants" are dumb - (but still smarter than the electorate).
  • why didn't neal have this under reading assigments?
probably he didn't you were smart enough.
There are meetings being held Monday and Tuesday in Yekaterinburg, Russia, (formerly Sverdlovsk) among Chinese President Hu Jintao, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and other top officials of the six-nation Shanghai Cooperation Organization. these meetings are about how the world will do without american dollars.
because they can tell we're about to go bankrupt.

  • No Vote For You!
This is from Neal's comments on the show today. Neal, you are the Vote Nazi! LOL!
  • You need a listener forum...
A lot of talk on your show this morning about the Kindle, but no mention of it in the notes. I'm not a Luddite, but I'm not a fan of the Kindle. I'm a technology professional and a big fan of almost every new gismo, my problem with the kindle is their distribution contracts and DRM(Digital Rights Management). Kindle's distribution rates are as high as 70% of the cost of the book, meaning the content creator is only getting about 30% or less for the sale of their book. DRM means that if you buy a book for you're Kindle you can't then use it on your iPhone or other digital reader. Distributing the books via PDF would be a much more user/consumer friendly option.

Just a suggestion for your website, you may want to add a forum so your listeners can discuss the show, not just the articles from NEALZ NEWZ.
  • Stimulus Waste
I see this all the time. My local town has decided it will spend 4.8 million in stimulus money, and 250,000 of local tax dollars on a roundabout. The town had a sign up for weeks displaying:
Town of XXX presents the Mike Smith Roundabout.
    Federal Stimulus money: %4,800,000
    Local tax dollars: $250,000

Every time I passed it, I was instantly reminded of what vomit tastes like.

I think we can find better uses for 5 million bucks. Pretty sick.
  • Bravo!
Everyone on this site needs to read the article from American Thinker, the free market solution to health care. It's amazingly well-written and finally makes sense. We need more common sense/intelligence like this to fight Obama's health care plan, not the childish "Osamabama" nonsense.
  • I am a bureaucrat. Trust me.

  • After all of the delays and public service anouncements.
It looks like the government is going to have to spend even more money for repeaters and antennas to make thier digital dream work.
  • Someone predicted the cooler temps
If you haven't read John Ringo's "The Last Centurion", you should. Global cooling, worldwide flu epidemic, US having to invade Iran; the only thing he got wrong is that he thought Hillary would be President.....
