Economics is soooo boring. But maybe you should read this. "Get Ready for Inflation and Higher Interest Rates."

Yesterday on the air I read this letter by Lou Pritchett "Why You Scare Me." While I don't agree with all of it, it's a good read.

More on Obama's plans for your health care. This from Mona Charen. You had better pay attention to this one before it is too late.

Here's more on the perky little stripper who likes to file false police reports.

So the Democrats want to set Sonia Sotomayor's confirmation hearings to start July 13th. The Republicans think this is too soon.

This is an excellent article from Kevin Hassett about Barack Obama essentially telling American businesses to drop dead.

Globally, the liberal left seems to be collapsing. What do these fancy Europeans know that Americans don't? I guess if their leaders were (sort of) Gods things would be different.

Ten TARP recipients have been told by the Treasury Department that they are healthy enough to pay back federal loans ... but don't expect this to help consumers.

The first Gitmo detainee has made his way to America to stand trial. We're importing terrorists. How nice.

Katie Couric is just doing wonders for the ratings right now on CBS. Sure glad that she is an award winning journalist. What a ditz.

Here we have some refreshingly good news ... A Senate committee on Tuesday approved opening the eastern Gulf of Mexico to oil and gas drilling. It's just a committee, folks. This is going nowhere.

A Yahoo polls asks how Obama is doing handling the economy. Any guesses as to how the people voted?

We just can't seem to get a bill through the Congress without the addition of any pork or "unrelated extras." This time it is the war funding bill.

Here's a good analysis of how Congress is meddling in the auto industry, even though Obama claims that the government doesn't want to run these companies.

Chris Dodd wants the Federal Reserve to prohibit banks from charging overdraft fees. More government control.

This is a fun article ... Love or lust, Obama and the fawning press need to get a room.

These federal agents want Congress to give them their guns back! Any guesses as to who it is?

A man in Connecticut says that he is losing his home because he owes $50 in taxes to the government.

The state government in California wants to regulate food that is served at any licensed child care facility.

A lesbian couple and their three adopted children were denied the family rate at the Lava Hot Springs State Foundation because they don't fit the state's definition of a "family." Good, we need a good "Lesbians vs. Government" fight to keep out minds off the serious stuff.

What others are saying

  • This one's easy.
Q: "Globally, the liberal left seems to be collapsing. What do these fancy Europeans know that Americans don't?"

    A: Life under socialism.
  • new nickname
    Obama should be called Omoba

    oh, ok, not funny
  • Quiet Riot
    Chrysler & Secured Creditors
I am amazed. If the "secured" creditors receive less than 100% return of face value of debt instruments how or why would anyone else receive anything?
    By Quiet Riot

Because they were owed for their support.
  • Chrysler & Secured Creditors
I am amazed. If the "secured" creditors receive less than 100% return of face value of debt instruments how or why would anyone else receive anything?
  • Terrorist Imports
If Gitmo is closed and some of these terrorists don't have court dates in the US, we'll have to turn them into boat people, transferring them from one ship to another until they all die of old age.
  • Economics
It may be boring, but you can't consider yourself an informed voter unless you understand the basics of economics. That means real economics. Keynesians need not apply.
  • Hyper inflation
    Buy gold.
  • Left is collapsing?
If only it were so. Here in Taxada (That's "Canada" for those of you who don't get the joke), the province of Nova Scotia just had an election where the "Progressive Conservative" Party (not a "conservative" party at all, really, they're more like moderate democrats), just lost to a landslide victory to the hard-left NDP. Now, for those of you who don't know, the NDP is so far to the left they make B. Hussien Nobama look like Ronald Reagan.

I know this is just one province in a single country, but it's obvious to me that all of society as a whole is lurching leftward. Yeah, there are little blips to the right now and then, but overall, the world is moving further left every day.

Sorry libertarians and conservatives, our time is up. There's no returning from this brink. Not in Taxada, not in the Excited States of Obama either. Freedom is gasping it's last breath. Obama just bought the nails to seal the coffin shut.

Too bad most people are too pigging stupid to see it.

  • CD - the good one
When inflation goes up, and the CD's are paying 15 percent, I am going to buy as many as I can to pay for my retiremnt.
  • TARP (welfare) recipients
I am glad to see some of these 'too big to fails' paying back the taxpayers!
  • Economics is soooo boring.
    watch this movie.

  • Inflation? Here?
But Barney Frank said we'll just have to live with a little inflation in order to save the economy. He couldn't be wrong...could he? Yeah, I've been expecting it. It's okay, really. It's my duty as a loyal, patriotic, citizen to accept this Adminisration's policies as gospel. Why would I ever dare question or, God forbid, be skeptical about 'Change'?
  • Geithner & Couric
I just knew Timmy would find a way to recycle any returned TARP money. Wonder what excuse he'll find Oct 2010 when the "contract" runs out. I'm sure he'll find something to keep from giving our money back.

I've never liked Couric, too many sneers and jabs on just about every story. Most of them are like that. When I watch the news I want the facts, let me draw my own conclusions. That's why I don't watch MSM.
  • uber inflation and interest rates
Neal: Thanks for the article. It validated what I already surmised. When the US Government starts printing money to monetize debt and pay for programs that, Constitutionally is not authorize to enact, money will be flooded on the marketplace. Thus there will be too much money which means that its value goes down.
(For you government educated types, it is basic economic theory "supply and demand" in practice.) As John Schroder from Ascot Advisory points out, money is a commodity also. When there is too much out there its value drops, i.e. too much supply with inequivalent demand.
The only entitiy that benefits from this is the US Government as it tries to pay back its debt to Japan, China, and South Korea. The problem is that China sees this devaluation coming, and they laughed Timmy Geitner right out of the "Middle Kingdom" (That is what the name of China is in Mandarin Chinese.) when he tried to tell them that there is no worry about America's "uberspending".

Why can't Americans wake up and see this? That one is easy Neal. (The government schools have done their job in keeping a whole generation of Americans dumbed down when it comes to economics.)

As for me, I have dumped my America dollar holdings and have invested in Chinese companies, renmimbi, Brazilian Reals (Brazilian currency for you government educated types), and commodities. As Jim Rogers says about the dollar and the American economy, "The fundamentals are flawed."
  • What a joke
I don't watch mainstream media for news except to see how far gone they are.
Their news anchors are a joke, totally ignorant of the subject matter and biased beyond belief.
  • Gay Rights
I've heard you speak about how you believe that gay people should be allowed to marry if they choose and how you do not believe that homosexuality is a choice. I commend you for those views and really appreciate you saying it openly on the radio. For those of us who are gay, however, the purpose of a "Lesbians vs. Government" fight is not merely to take our minds off of what you consider "serious stuff". To me, not being able to marry my partner is very "serious stuff".
