Did you catch this story from the Russian Newspaper Pravda over the weekend? How about "American Capitalism Gone with a Whimper" for a title? Here's a quote from the article:

"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people."

Wait a minute! Read that quote again! Here is a columnist in a Russian newspaper talking about America's decent into Marxism, and he doesn't sound all that happy about it. How do you like him calling us "passive" and "hapless?" And then there's that "sheeple" reference.

Rodina, the author, says that the American population was "dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture." Well ... you know that to be true in your heart, but it took this Pravda columnist to spell it out for you.

Fact is, the author isn't fond of Marxism. That means he isn't fold of Barack Obama. He writes "The final collapse (of capitalism) comes with the election of Barack Obama."

Just read the column .. then go outside and drive around town so that people can see your Obama bumper sticker on your car.

I encountered a flight attendant on a regularly scheduled airline this past week who actually uttered these words: "In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure ... we're screwed." The same applies to the election of Barack Obama.

Elections have consequences, folks.

    On further review, the author is even worse than I thought. He's a extreme, and extremely hateful, ultranationalist. He's also really anti-American. Most of his writings are about how terrible the US has been and always will be, and how everything bad to ever happen in Russia was the result of foreigners (largely American).

    He is anti-Communist, but of course blames Communism on foreigners, including us. Also, the Russian Communists were still better than the West, I guess.

    This article is just furthering of that nonsense. I love how Boortz and the right wingers on this site latch onto it, though.

    This is a stupid article with no relation to reality. The idea that Barack Obama is anything approaching a Marxist is ridiculous.

    Moreover, Pravda is a online tabloid, and the author they borrowed this article from is worse.

    Take note, everyone, that the author of this article thinks free trade is Marxism. He's a far right, bigoted, Russian ultranationalist nutjob. He's anti-American, and really anti-Western entirely.

  • so this russian online website represents what russians thinks of the usa. i guess in reverse we could find some off the wall american journalist/blogger that has opinions about russia and say that represents americans view of russia. its just laughable to quote an article that is published next to an article about a russian man that ate an alien. but then, i guess this is really what american journalism has come to as well!

    Having travelled to Russia extensively since the collapse of communism, I am continually amazed at how quickly the Russian people have grasped the merits of the free market system. Talk to anyone to Russia today, there's no doubt that they'll never return to Marxism/Socialism.

    As some have posted here, it is equally surprising how many so-called "americans" have embraced marxism/socialism. As Neal said, perhaps New Zealand is looking like a good place to be after all....

    Have you really never heard of Pravda?

    It was the official newspaper for Soviet Russia. Credibility? Never had it, never will. Mostly Communist propaganda.

    I saw it on Drudge earlier this morning. I thought it was an interesting perspective if nothing else. The fact it was in Pravda only made it more interesting.

Our country will be liquidated very quickly now that we are getting used to the idea of major corporations going under. This GM bankruptcy is being used to systematically desensitize the American people to the impending commercial collapse that will be followed by the job market collapse. I have watched this now for some time and I am amazed by how everything is going so smoothly. I am actually impressed. Hitler would be jealous of what Obama and the central bankers have accomplished. If these people that are orchestrated our demise would use that same effort to build us up we would be in a completely opposite situation. I have come to the conclusion that we deserve this. Who else do we have to blame?
