Local television channel, NBC affiliate WXIA-TV, has decided to use Obama imagery in its station promotions. They have a little slogan now ... "11 Alive News, Bringing You Change." OK ... the actually wording may be "offering" you change .. but you get the idea. They've figured out that millions of Americans were completely hornswaggled by this focus group created "change" nonsense during the last campaign, so they're going to use it to sell their newscasts. Talk about playing down to the dumbest among us. (Ohhhh ... that has a certain ring to it, doesn't it?) "WDUM News, for the Dumbest Among Us." Maybe I need to trademark that puppy before the same promotions ace who came up with "bringing you change" steals it from me.

What others are saying

  • They're NOT claiming to be Fair and Balanced...
even though that phrase is NOT trademarked or copyrighted!

I can't wait for the "progressive" news.
  • WXIA
Not much change, channel 2 is still gonna kick their butts in the ratings.
  • I love "hornswaggled." Some of the BEST EVER words have just floated away from our day-to-day lexicon.
  • Slightly humored
I think it's funny how some people have no life. They have to find entertainment in going to other's websites and calling that person stupid. You are an awesome person. Really.
  • Things that make you go hmmm....
    or gag...

    change
    poor
    unfortunate
    under priviledged
    give back
    fortunate
  • Franz
To clarify, the question you're asking is why the leftist media supports socialists?

Isn't the answer in your question??
  • NBC is nothing but an Obama propoganda outlet
When NBC commentators froth at the mouth and claim to have "tingly" sensations running down their legs when talking about Prezbo, you've got to question the sanity of these people.

Their ratings are in the tank anyway because nobody watches. So who cares, Neal?
  • mindless feel good slogans
When I hear of "change", I keep thinking of those fairy tales where somebody gets turned into a frog. You were living in a castle and now you are eating flies. How's that change working out for you?
  • Calm down
If you are about to blow a blood vessel because of a local tv slogan, then you need to relax a bit
  • a willing media
Yes, this is about the economics of short and long term plans on the part of the media and Obama. If it sells more copies; captures more sponsors and viewer/readers while pleasing the parent company's vision, then it is sound business policy. Obama, the campaigner-in-chief, has the willing complicity to monopolize the media WITHOUT PAYING for it.
The WH openly solicits this, see backstory on Parade mag; 2 times in 5 months.
  • Pepsi....
....ripped off "yes we can", and changed it to "yes you can". They also stole the Obama logo. I'd boycott them, but I don't drink soda anymore (their products taste like shiite anyway).
  • WXIA slogan
The Truth-WXIA (Well, eXcept It Ain't)
  • Local News
Why watch local news? I guess if you want to keep up with which apartment complex burned down.

I wish one of my local stations here in S FL would bring me some change. I have a Cool Whip bowl on the dresser to put it in.
  • annoying ads
The newspaper folk here in Detroit have been running an ad with this really annoying song... makes me cringe when I hear it... featuring clips of our Governor and Obambi... the two people most responsible for the mess this state is in... they're even hawking the song on itunes. morons...
  • Just another example of why
It is indeed fortunate - for all of us - that it is not illegal to be an a$$h0le.
  • Network TV?
Neal, you actually WATCH network TV? What's worth watching? The news??
  • A little late
Don't campaign buzzwords have a finite lifespan before they become politically toxic?
  • network news
just another reason why i don't watch.
  • change
They've been running this absurd ad since January. Here's a screenshot: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r36/jgm1976/change.jpg
  • WXIA
Way to stay on top of stuff - they have been using that slogan for 2 or 3 months.
  • 11alive "CHANGE"
That irritating little slogan is a pretty good test of who you are. If it makes your skin crawl, you still have a thought process and your own identity. If you actually like it and it makes you feel good, you're a good little sheep and just need to stay tuned; the TV will tell you what to think, and when to think it.
