Mike Huckabee joined us on the show today. How does that guy stay so positive? His most recent book, mentioned today, is Do the Right Thing: Inside the Movement That's Bringing Common Sense Back to America. Here's your place to talk about what he had to say.

What others are saying

  • Hucklebee
Neal, the Republicans are using you as a tool. Huck, Newt, and Ollie North make the rounds on radio shows trying to garner more votes for the GOP. You are being played by these BORING guests. You don't see McCain pulling low-ball stunts like this, do you?
Neil, c'mon. You are a conservative liberatarian, not a Republican. Please spare us the slow Preacher's drone of these two-faced gas-bags.
  • GUEST: MIKE HUCKABEE
    > Nice job of trotting out a guy who
    > doesn't believe in dinosaurs as a
    > candidate for President, Republicans.

OBVIOUSLY, Huckabee wasn't the only one who didn't believe McCain should be a candidate for president.
  • Bitter...
if its any consolation Romney would not have won the presidential election anyway. Romney's in favor of big government, and want's to tinker with already bad ideas rather than abolishing them, just the way Amnesty Juan Mccainitez was. Also I think people were a bit freaked out by the whole Morman thing. I think if Romney or Palin run again it will be a guaranteed win for Obama.
  • Huck...
Huck's alright, mainly for his support of the Fair Tax. During the campaign though I did not hear him speak at all about overturning the Patriot Act. That is particularly troubling to me for a Republican to be running for president of this country yet he will not voice disagreement with sych grotesquely large unneeded legislation as the Patriot Act. Also Huck seems to take more of the Roman empire Republican approach to foreign policy(like you do Neal) rather than a traditional conservative one of non-interventionism(different from isolationism). If Huck ran in 2012 he would have to reverse his bad foreign policy ideas. The same for someone like Romney who also seems pretty naieve on this whole war on islamic fascism.
  • Huckadean
The only thing I'm interested in hearing from Huckabee is his death rattle. The guy is the Republican version of Slick Willie -- as honest as he can convince you he is. There must be something in the water in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion.

His endorsement of the Fair Tax makes me wonder what way he has found to burn us if it were ever put in place.

We can thank Huckabee for helping kill the campaigns of the Republicans who actually could have beaten Barack Okole.
  • HUCKSTERBEE..
need i say anymore.? more than willing to bet he was some how influenced by acorn to intervene in the race.mike savage was right about this guy and neal if ya want to truely push the fairtax you will push it on youre own and run for prez by way of the libertarian party..enough said..
  • Huck's Optimism
"It's easy to stay positive when you don't burden yourself with science and facts like, oh I dunno.....evolution!"

Once comments like this are left behind by Gavin and Boortz, et al, and we can have an honest discussion about the various "theories" the better off we'll be. You AND the other side (Huckabee) both reveal your individual biases by holding fast to your own "religions".
  • Brings back bad memories
During the primaries last year, Boortz jumped on the Huckabee train for self-promoting reasons... the Fair Tax. While it was encouraging that Huckabee was the only major candidate that supported the Fair Tax, Boortz played a big part in ruining Mitt Romney's chance of winning the Georgia primary by supporting Huckabee (due to this one issue). So all of the mindless listeners voted for Huckabee because of this one issue when he clearly was a one-dimensional candidate. This resulted in a three-way split of votes between Romney, McCain, and Huckabee.

Anyone with a brain could see Romney was the best Republican candidate. He was an extremely successful businessman who would know exactly how to solve the economic crisis we are in now. He was in the business of resurrecting businesses that are in the red and turning them into successful billion-dollar companies.

Instead, we had the Republican vote split between Huckabee (pro-life/anti-gay marriage evangelicals; Fair Tax zealots) and Romney (level-headed business people and entrepreneurs).

Don't get me wrong, I think the Fair Tax is a great idea. But it is ridiculous to believe people in D.C. will give up HUGE chunk of their power (the tax code).
  • Taxabee
The last southern governor I backed for president was democrat Wallace in 1968 when I was in second grade; scalawag & carpet bag rockefeller pseudo republicans, specially of the pernicious war mongering zionist neo-conservative sort, just do not count. That goes double for ex-speaker of the federal house of representatives Gingrich! Give me George Wallace, John Schmitz, Roger MacBride, Lawrence McDonald or Ron Paul any infernal day of the week--just so long as the candidate is both extreme & deplored by Boortz for isolationism, conspiracism, caucasian ethno-centrism or some other putative dis-qualification.
  • Huckabee's optimism
It's easy to stay positive when you don't burden yourself with science and facts like, oh I dunno.....evolution! It's candidates like him and Mr. Amnesty McCain that got Obama elected. Nice job of trotting out a guy who doesn't believe in dinosaurs as a candidate for President, Republicans.
  • Only a few moments
Had to run out so missed most of his talk. His show has lost it's appeal for me, too many entertainers and not enough substance.
  • Gov. Huckabee said some things during his campaign...
...that made me believe his thinking could benefit from reading or rereading "The Federalist," and Madison's "Notes on the Constitutional Convention." Even so, he was my second choice after Gov. Romney, and ahead of Sen. McCain.

I didn't go pout in the corner just because my fave didn't get nominated. I knew hussein would be far worse than the worst the GOP could come up with. Hussein's about $3 trillion worse than McCain, so far. The only silver lining is the frog may finally notice he's getting cooked before he's dead, and he might be smart enough to avoid jumping into the fire.
