GOVERNMENT CAN'T DO IT ALONE

Michelle Obama said something that I can agree with ... that struggling communities should not look to the government alone for help. Great. Let's throw some personal responsibility in there from time to time. But then she turns around and points out that the government just passed a government service law in order to put volunteers to work, and you should really take advantage of this.

Hmm. So on one hand you want communities to not look to the government, but then you want them to rely on a government law that provides volunteers. Maybe it's just me, but it shouldn't take a government law to encourage volunteerism.

Then she pulls out this line, "Washington can only do so much ... Communities are built and rebuilt by regular people." So just in case you were not aware, those people in Washington aren't regular people. Maybe they are, I don't know, above regular people?

    CORNPONE....... gubmint is one word.

GUBMINT=stoopid, f**ked up, bad idea, loser, waste of time, waste of money....

    Ah, the regular people.
Bommers, remember the lessons of communism? How the proletariat was controlled by the politbureau through the use of propaganda? And how did the politbureau survive and support their lifestyle?
  • Gov't Can't Do It Alone?
Why is Gov't doing it at all? If people in these communities spent more time taking care of themselves, these parasitical Community Organizers would have nothing to do.

The Obamas have been telling people not too go into money making pursuits, but to "serve". Well, who pays for their service? The evil people who make money, that's who.
  • Regular people
    The words(Regular people)says it all.
  • Volunteers?
Sounds more like "conscripts", "peons", "serfs", "indentured servants", "slaves" ...

Newspeak? Oldspeak? - Sorry, George - we're running about 24 years late - must be a gub'mint project.
  • OK, I'll take care of my own ...
but I'm not gonna send any tribute to grand, almighty, omnipotent, all-knowing, all-wise, all-spendthrift, two-timing, double-dealing federal gub'mint.
  • Aren't they already pushing laws to compel 'volunteerism'?
Seems they are backpedaling some from what they campaigned on. Thank God for small favors, but it's only because they are realizing they don't have bottomless pockets.

They took care of their financial backers and the bums, "regular people," will have to fix their own potholes. Watch them take Chicago's community pothole day national.
  • FLOTUS
its not that she's better than us. we're just not as good as they are.
  • Michelle Obama
Give Michelle some slack. It's not easy being First Lady of a nation you just can't stand.
