CLEARLY THE GUY IS A LOON

Yesterday we saw the actions of a crazed lunatic.  James von Brunn, an 88-year-old man whom the media has labeled as a white supremacist and Holocaust denier, opened fire in the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC.  He managed to kill one of the security guards.

The guy has a history.  He was convicted in 1983 for running towards the boardroom of Washington's Federal Reserve building with a shotgun.  He's an Alex Jones "911 was an inside job" believer.  He's written a book about "white youth" and the Jews.  He claims that "neoconservative" is a derogatory code word for "Jews."  The guy is a barking moonbat.  It is a shame that his loony ideas will get so much press consider this event.

Two things will come of this ... at a minimum.

One ... some of the left will use this to give credence to the Homeland Security department targeting "right wing extremists" as possible terrorists.  Two ... the anti-gun lobby should be shifting into over drive quickly.  It won't matter that this moron is a certifiable lunatic ... he'll be painted as typical of the right.

What others are saying

  • SFC MAC
You mean Bledsoe! I refuse to give him his new name. Had no idea there was that much muslim presence in Nashville. I used to live there, what a shame.
  • @Jack in Dayton
Dude, take your meds. And do us Ohioans a big favor: Go to San Fransisco. You'd fit in there real well.
  • @Joyce
Speaking of wackos, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad is in custody.
  • wackos?
We've got some wackos of our own on this board.
  • First Glenn Beck now Boortz chimes in too...
He's an Alex Jones "911 was an inside job" believer.

Who put out this talking point Boortz?

You know the guy that was caught raping children was a Neal Boortz not so fair tax supporter.....Hmmmmm....

    Come on.....
  • clearly Boortz is a shill
of the lame stream media: proven by the alacrity of his odious characterization of any one dis-satisfied with the official explanation of the staged & contrived events of 11 September 2001 & his reflexive defenciveness re neo-conservatism, an ideology nigh as privileged as the parallel crypto-domestic communist dogma of the immaculateness of the drive for minority civil rights. So Boortz makes American Enterprise Institute-Cato Institute approved hay of what likely was a shadow government instigated false flag operation to provide justification of the repression, harassment, draconism & persecution of re-actionists & far rightists the regime is resolved to impose & inflict any how. For being such a hated, insulted, attacked, tormented & mis-characterized lot the class of Americans Nicholas Strakon of Dispatches from the Last Ditch calls official jews sure does get nigh any thing it wants immediately it declares it wants same. What imprimis is a museum devoted to such a contentious & divisive issue, fully supported at tax payer expence, doing in greater Trantor if not serving as a constant attractive nuisance for the very sort of shocking event that occurred so recently?
  • typical Boortz fan?
Sounds like this fellow is a typical Boortz, Doyle, Savage, Limbaugh, Ingraham, Hannity, Oreilly fan to me, not surprising this rhetoric on the right has them all lathered up in a rabid mad dog state!
  • 10 bucks says...
that the RIGHT also seizes on this. After all, he believes in these "crazy, unpatriotic conspiracy theories".
  • I hate to tell you this
Rush blamed Obama for the shooting. This is not second hand.

    I was listening.
  • Why Right-Wing?
Do Conservatives hold anti-semitic views? NO
In most of this loons writings--he was anti-Bush and "neo-cons." He was against "big corporations." I would no doubt associate him with the crowds of fascism and naziism, which, all good Boortz listeners should know--falls to the LEFT on the political spectrum and not the right! Yet the media has done such a tremendous job to paint this guy as a "right-wing" extremist--somehow--I just don't buy it!
  • I don't believe this story
    Background:
I don't 100% believe in major stories for governments, the media, nor from conspiracy theorists. They all simply have proven themselves to be untrustworthy.

    Concerning the shooting story:
The background of the museum shooter couldn't be more scripted as to create/perpetuate a stereotype against people who have differing opinions than the 'mainstream' media, politicians, etc. That seems suspiciously like an attempt to (1) as Boortz said, pave the way for Homeland Security to take away more of our rights, and (2) to make it harder for people with differing opinions to talk openly.

Again, I don't trust the mainstream nor the fringe, but I do want both to be able to talk openly.

Enough innocent people have been killed already...let people talk without engaging in childish, ostracizing, discrediting, debate tactics such as calling people loons, moonbats, etc.
  • I don't believe the story...nor do I like how it being handled

If this story is real, it is obvious that this person felt like he had no part in the discussion and so engaged in violent civil disobedience...just to get heard. Sadly, there will likely be a lot more people mad enough to engage in non-violent and violent disobedience if this keeps up.

Enough innocent people have been killed already...let people talk without engaging in childish, ostracizing, discrediting, debate tactics such as calling people loons, moonbats, etc.

Boortz is a self-proclaimed 'BS artist' so I really don't blame him for BS. But the so-called journalists seem to be marching to the same slander/stereotyping drum.
  • Odd
Seems that all the hate that this man was involved with mirrors exactly what the left was saying about President Bush the last 7 years,
  • Crazy man
Something like this only reestablishes why we should be armed. With 300 million strong living in America there are bound to be a few goons in the mix.
  • Right wing my A
First of all, someone who goes on a killing spree (whether at an abortion clinic, an Army recruiting station, or the Holocaust museum) is not left or right...they just aren't on the spectrum. They don't belong in our general political discourse.

Now here's the interesting thing. Why do left-wingers try to pin down 'hate crimes' on the right? This guy, as a white supremacist, epitomizes left-wing ideology, not right-wing (as a murderer he has no ideology, but white supremacists are left-wingers). Think about it. People who espouse the value of a particular group, or hate other groups with such a passion, are on the left.

Conservatives espouse the value of the individual, and seek to have us accountable for our own actions.
  • What's the difference...
Between The NEW Black Panthers, Neocons, Gangs, White Supremacy... nothing.. they all hate the other guy.
Republican, Democrat, whatever. This man is a NUTBAG. And that is how the media should view it...
  • What the...
So I am traveling through the airports yesterday doing my normal routine. I noticed the breaking news on CNN on the airport TV. Some crazy loon has gone on a rampage and shot someone. Racist? Sure.. if thats what they say. The news continued.. Wolf had his diagram up and its been non-stop ever since.
Question - Where was this coverage when a US soldier was gunned down by a "fanatic" standing outside a recruiting office?
  • Moonbats, gun control and the Right
It will be ironic. The gun grabbers will perhaps gain traction from this shooting, or one like it, to get what they want - strict federal gun control. When they get what they want, those of us who take the 2d amendment seriously will have little choice but to make their delusions about "right wing extremists" into a reality in order to secure our rights.

Just an impolitic thought the left has not probably ever considered.
  • Is he any loonier than the man who attacked the Recruiters?
This man is considered typical of the right wing extremists. Why is the converted islamist who attacked the military recruiters in Arkansas not typical of the left wing extremists?
  • It begins already...
I saw coverage of the tragedy last night on CNN Primetime and these two topics struck me as alarming: "Should we restrict the 1st Amendment?" and "Are Domestic Terrorists worse than Islamic Terrorists?".
The titles of those segments shook me to the core...
  • Option #3
You are right, Neal but then there's option #3: talk radio will be blamed. Mark my words. Oh, and of course he will be labeled as a Republican.
  • right wing extremists
Indeed, I even saw Shep Smith and others on FNC saying that this and the Tiller murder prove that Napolitano was right about the "right-wing extremists". What a bunch of hooey. Two shootings in a month? How many people in NOLA were shot this month? LA? Where's their DHS warning? Oh yeah, the shooters weren't white male right-wingers, so they don't count.
  • guilt by association
Of course they'll paint him as typical of the right ...

Just as the right paints ACORN and Code Pink as typical of the left ...

You (Neal, FOX News, MSNBC, CNN) do the same exact thing .... You paint everyone with wide brushes ...
  • Send him to an israeli prison to live out his remaining days
They should send this guy to an israeli prison to live out his remaining days. That is assuming he survives the gunshot wounds.

Frankly, I don't like gun control, but shouldn't their be some kind of watchlist for felons with as history of using guns. One that makes it illegal to sell then weapons and each person must show id and be run through the system before they can purchase it.
  • Contrast in Coverage
A horrible event, to be sure, but one can't help notice the difference in coverage between this shooting, and that of the Muslim who killed the soldier while shooting up the Arkansas recruiting station last week. Night and day difference.
  • Gun Control Crises
The gun control crowd will use this as their centerpiece to call for increased restrictions. It will not be long before the Pelosi drafts new gun control legislation to ram though the House.
  • Guy is a loon
May God bless the family of the man who gave his life at the Holocaust Museum.
As for the lunatic, his mistake was using a gun. Had he used a bomb in Wahington D.C., he would have gotten a hero's welcome and a teaching position with Bill Ayers. Why would this shooting be blamed on the Right Wing Extremists? Why isn't the Kansas City gunman being classified as a LEFT wing Extremist? The Democrats are ignoring Israel as our ally, aren't they? George Wallace and Lester Maddox were bigot Democrats, as I recall, weren't they? Isn't Sotomayor a bigot? Since when can the Democrats claim the high road as champions of sanity and racial equality? Because the Democrats say so? Because the lame-stream media screams it? 'scuse me while I go throw up....
  • Already done....
....Rachel Maddow's show last night was basically a smirky "verification" of the right wing report...

I don't believe a single word was mentioned of the Arkansas recruiting station murder
  • Also...
I call shenanigans on these Department of Homeland Security documents. There is also a "Left-Wing Extremist" document out there floating around. Now if I am reading things right the DHS has all its bases covered. Where am I going with this you ask? Well what happens when the economic situation gets worse and there are more people like this wacko coming out and shooting people up? The DHS will tighten the noose on whichever group is giving the government the hardest time and then use the media to demonize that group further. All this will do is make "normal" people start ratting their neighbors for any little thing they say or do. This is tyranny at best if you ask me. This is basically our governments way of saying if you don't agree with us we will remove you from society. This is a huge breach of the First Amendment and I cannot understand why people don't see that. I understand that there are crazy hate factions on both sides of the aisle, but these documents condemn a great majority of Americans. I don't like being called an extremist by my government. If you ask me this is a desperate attempt by a government that is morally/ethically bankrupt and soon to be literally bankrupt. They are preempting the American people and this has to stop now.
  • Von Brunn
The left will have a field day with this, but they don't care about a young Soldier being gunned down in front of a recruiting station by a muslim extremist.

Assclown Sheppard Smith used von Brunn's insanity as justification for Janet Napolitano's inclusion of Iraq veterans and gun owners in her "domestic threat assessment".

Come to think of it, didn't Obama sit in a church pew for 20 years listening to Jeremiah Wright's anti-simetic diatribes?
  • not wasting a crisis
There are always crazy people doing crazy things in this country. I am worried that the thought police will use this crisis, and blow it up, to act as a diversion. If they can use a scapegoat, no one will notice them stealing, or the fact that the economy is in a meltdown.

I could easily see this being a crisis that lasts for months, and Rahm has said, "Let no crisis go to waste."

This could be a perfect opportunity to strike down the 2nd amendment, and imprision anyone that they don't like...all in the name of "national security".
  • One of the biggest lies in history is that the Fascists were “right wing” when the truth is that Fascism, Socialism, Communism, Marxism, are closely related as Authoritarian governments that emphasize collective right over the individual.
That makes this loon closer to being a leftist than a Conservative – go ahead, flame away leftists, but the TRUTH hurts doesn't it?
  • Clearly The guy is a loon
This should strengthen the "pro gun" argument as it was the quick actions of the armed guards that prevented many civilian deaths.
  • Following Liberal Logic: # Three
Obama's "Cairo speech" that recognized the global influence, tolerance and power of Islam while equating the 'plight' of Palestinians to the Jewish holocaust inspired anti-semitic followers. Obama's outright condemnation of NAZI Germany at Buchenwald pulled the trigger on this man's psyche.
Carefully crafted from the template of MSNBC
  • Wow Neal...
First off yes the guy is nuts that much is clear. Please please do not lump people that question the events of 9/11 into the same heap with this guy. The reason I say this is cause it will bite everyone on the ass later on. There is a group of roughly 700 architects with decades worth of architecture experience that have joined forces with forensic scientists from all over the world to challenge the official 9/11 story. They have a HUGE amount of evidence that pretty much destroys the official cover story that the 9/11 Commission put out. It proves that there was nanothermite (used and unused) found in the aftermath of the towers coming down. There was over 4 TONS of this material found. I am not going to claim that it was an inside job because that would instantly label me as a nut job by many, but this information proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the world was not told the entire truth. The document can be found here...

    http://www.bentham-open.org/pages/content.php?TOCPJ/2009/00000002/00000001/7TOCPJ.SGM

This is a SERIOUS matter. The crazy thing is that as serious as this is it may go unnoticed by the majority because ANYONE who tries to question the events of that day is instantly ridiculed. I love what this country was founded upon and I am a Conservative. I do not believe in protecting criminals even if they happen to be our leaders. I just want the truth. I am an American and I feel that I am entitled to the truth no matter how bad it is. It is not crazy to ask questions. What is crazy is turning away credible information because the consequences scare you. I know what it would mean for this country if it were discovered that 9/11 was more than what they said it was. I just know in my heart that the truth is always better than the lie.
  • But wait!
He is from Maryland from what I can tell. Aren't guns banned there?

Someone please tell me why this man is still alive?
  • The Guy is a Loon?
    Why's that Neal? Because he's a Holocaust denier & a white supremacist?

Robert Byrd's shown white supremacist tendencies in his life, & the left doesn't seem to have a problem with that.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a holocaust denier & Obama says he wants to talk with him face to face. The left also doesn't seem interested in disarming Iran for their leadership's Holocaust denial.

If the liberals are free of hypocrisy, we should all be fine & this will pass over with excuses being made blaming this guy's childhood & the Bush Administration for "inheriting this mess" of old men who go out & murder people.
  • So Being a Holocaust Denier is Bad?
He's a white supremacist and a holocaust denier?

I think it's safe to say that Robert Byrd is/was a white supremacist too, but he's been embraced & defended by Democrats.

He's a holocaust denier? So is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad & God knows the Democrats don't want to disarm him.
  • Denier
I don't understand this guy, to say the least. He was in WWII, yet he is a denier?

This story will die out...now if this guy was a real evil person, say a global warming denier, then he would front page news for months.
  • And....
Copy, Gavin and the others will assure us that he is typical of the right in 3... 2.... 1....
  • Holocaust Loon
So with this administration, as far as I can tell, the only people we can accurately label 'terrorist' are Americans. Is that about the gist of it?
  • Bigger Concern
Is that these wackos will start working with (or being used by) Al Qaeda. They both have the same hatreds.
  • No Brainer
This was such a moonbat that if it is used for political gain, then I am sorry, your just an SOB!
  • Irony
How does a WORLD WAR TWO VETERAN become

    *An anti-semite,
    *A Holocaust denier, and
    *A neo-nazi?

Was he sleeping during his entire period of service?
  • What won't be mentioned.
As a convicted felon, and a certified whackjob, this git wasn't allowed to have guns under the EXISTING gun laws. Let's hear it for enforcing what we've got.
  • more media fodder
The “right” does have a few bad apples, but the “left” has an orchard of putrid apples.
But of course, the media enjoys this type of fodder, they’ll eat it up and play it to the hilt, but when the tables are turned, it would be a blip in the media.
A side note: isn’t it amazing how quick the brouhaha about “the CIA lied” disappeared, the hippy San Fran hides out for a week and all is forgotten. She was asked about it and her response was something along the lines of “I said all I have to say about that issue”. Strange, I thought she worked for us? (Sorry… how dare they question the holy hippy)
  • Double Standard
Let's be clear...this guy is trash. But, it's too bad the media only tiptoed around the motivations of "Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad" after he killed one of our soldiers in Arkansas earlier this month -- no 3D renderings of the recruiting center on 'Today'. Perhaps Islamic terrorism is simply passe... After all, we're a Islamic nation now.
  • Unfortunately Neal is right
Unfortunately Neal is right. I don't mind that Neal is right. But the left will exploit this sad event for their political agenda to attack the right. And most of Americans will fall right in line and join in. To most Americans, the right is a but of looney toons gun toting Bible thumping wife beater racists. Or old senile like Jon Voight
  • James von Brunn
How he can be painted as typical of the right? He hates Jews. I thought the left hated the Jews? Just wondering.
  • Here's the irony...
von Brunn and the Reverend Wright are in 100% agreement on this matter.

Now how is that "right wing?"

OReilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, NONE OF THEM, not one conservative who's considered a member of the conservative movement, are anti-semetic. All of them support Israel.

Reverend Wright HATES Jews, Obama is ready to help push Israel into the ocean. von Brunn simply acted in parallel to their direction.

von Brunn and Reverend Wright are cut from the same cloth. And, yes, both of them are loons.
