If the White House wants to get a message out, how do you go about doing that? Apparently the answer to that question is now: have Ashton Kutcher twitter about it.

Seriously.

The White House wanted to get the word out about National HIV Testing Day. So what did they do? They contacted Ashton Kutcher. The guy has over 2.5 million followers on Twitter. So they asked him to tweet about National HIV Day.

What others are saying

  • Ashton Kutcher
    Who?
  • WHO
    Who is Ashton Kutcher?
  • Just another denigrating display of stupidity
    from the dear leader.

So much for "elevating" the office of the presidency. What's next, having Obama compete in American Idol?
  • Twitter
Thats our rock roll offical some people call president in the White House!
  • will the man behind the curtain.........................
he was good on That 70's show but was he acting??????????????
  • Ben Dover
I told ya man, your outta here!!
  • 2.5M followers...
... all hoping for another shot of Demi's butt, apparently.
  • Big surprise
And this is a surprise that the "rock star" would use so called actors (that are as left as they come) to do his bidding. The entire gang of thugs in Washington are a disgrace.
  • Damn Ben
That was hard core, Man. LOL
  • Tweet
Who is this bum? Barney Frank's BOY?
  • Twits
Twitter has proved to be a valuable resource in revealing the Iranian protests and HIV testing is certainly important and valuable. It would be equally important if this same PUBLIC took their and their sexual partners health and protection at least as serious as the tweeters. But the issue is that Twitter is "user created content" and gaining momentum and credibility as authenticated facts and news.
That stepping stone rolled together with a one sided media bias foretells a future where the dumb masses are called to civil action based upon tweeting popularity.
  • ???
    Ashton who? Twitter what?
  • Tweeting
First, I'm appalled that 2.5 million people actually follow the opinions of that child-in-a-man's-body. (He acts, at least in his public persona, exactly like the kids that I have to throw out of my class most often for being disruptive and disrespectful.) Second, 2.5 million is less that 1% of the population. How does reaching 1% of the population constitute "getting the word out"? Perhaps whoever came up with this idea needs to go back to math class.
  • Puhleezz...
I could give one twit about anyone's tweet. Get a life people.
  • Twitter
    Who has time to "tweet"?
Just one more way to keep people in front of the computer not exercising and getting fat.
  • White house using twitter
Just plain stupid and embarassing to the office of the president
  • The White house twittering
I guess we know now how much of a high-school geek our president actually is
  • Twitter sucks
Seriously. you're just jealous of his 2.5 million followers on Twitter. what are your followers numbers now? 10,000? i know you've need to inform us on it once a week. its called ego boosting.
i'm not impressed with you or your followers on Twitter, or how you like it. how old are you?

    Seriously.
