I loved the part where the voters could not punch a simple hole & the counters had to ck for hanging 'chads'...wait, no, that was Florida a few years back.
Too real to be funny
Unfortunately, this could have been a documentary of the Obama regime. We have 27 year olds that haven't had a job that are in charge of running GM. We have a tax cheat as the head of the IRS. We have a person that has the diplomatic skills of an insult comic as the Secretary of state (and she is the most qualified person on his staff.) This entire administration is filled with people that are incompetent, and arrogant. "Idiocracy" is an accurate portrayal of this administration.
This movie is great. Yes, it's stupid... it's a cautionary tale. Our society is fast becoming exactly what is being portrayed in this movie.

The first few minutes where it shows how the dumb ones keep producing kids, and the smart ones don't...WORTH A MILLION BUCKS! This movie is so true to today's society (sex is needed to sell even Starbucks!).

I watched this about a year ago and I absolutely loved it.
This movies explanation for how we evolved into such stupidity is classic.
It's got electrolytes
Mike Judge was wrong about one thing. It only took about a decade for society's mentality level to drop that low. This movie is awsome, funny as hell and prophetic. I understand where the ppl calling it stupid are coming from, but the stupidy is the whole point. It's kind of like Beavis and Butthead, who Neal can't stand. I just hope that my being in tune with Idiocracy doesn't point to a serious lack of intelligence on my own part, that would just hurt my feelings, waaaah!
Try Americathon
The movie Americathon is more appropriate: The oil shortage is so bad people are walking everywhere and living in their cars. Cigarettes and all meat have been outlawed by the government Gold coins are needed to operate common household appliances The White House is in an apartment in California and is toured by vacationing Chinese. The President has borrowed four billion dollars from the Indians we can’t pay back. Sounds familiar.
