White House - A funny movie is a click away

Too late for me to construct much of a rant for the Nuze, but you can bet I'll be able to Boortztificate about this one on the air.

Our president, Barack Hussein Obama (Hey ... now he's proud of his middle name, so I can use it, right?) Has decided he needs a Pay Czar. The White House says that this person, one Kenneth Feinberg, will actually be called the "Special Master for Compensation." He is going to decide just how much executives for companies receiving bailout funds can make.

For now the Pay Czar will rule over companies receiving bailout funds. Well, you have to start somewhere I guess. But hold on ... this could only be the beginning. How about companies who receive special tax benefits from the government? Then how about companies who have contracts to do work for the government? After that we can expand the Pay Czar's responsibilities to companies who are deemed to be "too big to fail," and thus have to have their executive compensation levels monitored by the government.

Am I the only one out there reading Atlas Shrugged right now?

As if preparing your taxes every year isn't arduous enough as it is, the government now wants to become even more involved in the process. The IRS is working to require paid tax preparers to be licensed by the government. Another complication to the processes of looting ... just what we need. More government bureaucrats to license people to professionally and seize their money. Look ... IRS employees can't even do tax returns right, so just who are they going to find to figure out whether private sector preparers can do it right or not?

The IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman says that this will help reduce mistakes and combat fraud. He says, "Paying taxes is one of the largest financial transactions individual Americans have each year, (duhhhh) and we need to make sure that professionals who serve them are ethical and ensure the right amount of tax is paid." Oh, so Doug here believes that the private sector is incapable of providing a service ethically without the intrusion of government.

Rep. John Lewis from right here in Georgia says that he supports the measure because poor people are often taken advantage of by "fly-by-night" tax preparers. Hey wait, if they are poor, then they aren't paying income taxes anyway.

One of the results? Added costs. These tax preparers are going to have to spend money to meet the government requirements, and that money will be passed down to the taxpayers. When is this going to end?

The Republicans just don't seem to get it. They are too busy fighting petty arguments and being "against" the Democrats, and they can't seem to get any freakin' ideas of their own. Why would Americans want to join a party that doesn't have any ideas, any purpose, any vision? Even if you don't agree with the Democrats' plans - universal healthcare, cap-and-trade, card check - at least they HAVE ideas. Being in the "minority" is not an excuse. If anything, this should be THE time for Republicans to start coming up with innovative initiatives to its party energized. But instead, they come up with stunts like this .....

Republicans in the House have decided to form a caucus to fight liberal media bias. The Media Fairness Caucus will "point out unfair stories, meet with members of the media, and write op-eds and letters to the editor to highlight media bias."

The caucus will be beaded by Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, who says that media bias is the "greatest threat to our democracy today ... because, if the American people can't get good information, can't get the facts, and can't make good decisions, then we simply don't have a viable democracy ...Right now I think they are not getting the facts and therefore it's hard to make good decisions, and therefore our democracy is threatened."

OK, Lamar. Listen up.

First ... we aren't a democracy. Read the documents of our heritage. Study on this one a bit. We're a representative republic. There's a big difference, and it involves the rule of man vs. the rule of law. How can you work to protect us if you don't know what we are.

Second ... the greatest threat to our republic today is teacher's unions, not the media.

Third ... I don't want liberals in fighting right wing media bias, and I don't want conservatives in congress fighting the leftist media. Leave that to the folks who consume the news Organizations like Media Research Center are handling the job quite well enough without your or the government's interference.

Did you hear what the CEO of Microsoft had to say about Barack Obama's tax plans? Remember that last month, Barack Obama outlined a plan to outlaw or restrict about $190 billion in tax breaks for offshore companies. This includes companies like Microsoft. So Microsoft CEO Steven Ballmer says that his company would move some employees offshore if Congress enacted Obama's plans. He says, "It makes U.S. jobs more expensive ... We're better off taking lots of people and moving them out of the U.S. as opposed to keeping them inside the U.S."

Is anyone listening?

Now, this is nothing that both you and I don't already know. Barack Obama claims that his proposals will create jobs in the United States. Most of you who aren't government educated will understand that that is a flat out lie. Now, we have the CEO of the world's largest software company saying that he would take employees and move them overseas if Obama enacts his plan. That is exactly the OPPOSITE of what Obama claims would happen. But what does Steven Ballmer know? I'm sure the government will have its say in companies like his soon enough.

Watch .. the Democrats have plans for an economic Berlin Wall. Any jobs caught trying to climb over the wall will be shot.

It's possible that we have linked to this story before .. but it has been a while since we have picked on the global warming crowd. I'm sorry, the climate change crowd. Notice that now that the world is actually getting cooler, "climate change" is the appropriate phrase.

Here's something to consider .....

A study from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center concluded that solar variation has made an impact on the Earth's climate. In other words, evidence shows that climate changes based on solar radiation can be traced back to the Industrial Revolution.

Right now, according to climatologist Robery Cahalan, we are between major ice ages ... a period called the Holocene. Another solar scientist by the name of Thomas Woods says, "The fluctuations in the solar cycle impacts Earth's global temperature by about 0.1 degree Celsius, slightly hotter during solar maximum and cooler during solar minimum. The sun is currently at its minimum, and the next solar maximum is expected in 2012."

So there you go .. when the Earth starts to warm in 2012, blame it on your SUVs and evil carbon footprints. But just remember that NASA believes the sun's radiation may have more to do with climate change than your cute little hybrid and reusable grocery bags.

Here's the set up. The city of Chicago has banned handguns and automatic weapons since 1982. The NRA believes this to be an infringement upon your right to bear arms. Now, you'll remember last summer the Supreme Court decided on a case "District of Columbia v. Heller," which recognized an individual right to bear arms. The day after the Supreme Court came to this decision, the NRA challenged the Chicago gun ban.

Well the reason I bring this up now is because a three-judge panel has finally ruled on the challenge - it rejected the NRA's challenge to the ban. Its explanation was that the

"District of Columbia v. Heller" case recognized an individual right to bear arms under the Second Amendment, but that it doesn't apply to states and municipalities. In other words, the Heller case dealt with a law passed by the federal government, where as this Chicago gun ban is a local matter ... and according to this panel of judges, the Second Amendment does extend to laws passed by state or local authorities, only the federal government.

So now the NRA wants the Supreme Court to take up the case. Better hurry. You can rest assured that if Obama gets to replace a conservative justice it won't be with someone who feels friendly towards the Second Amendment.

Why does the left feel so strongly about disarming Americans? Could that be because when guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns?
