Talked about this on the air, need to put this in the Nuze. I was walking through the mall earlier this week when I noticed a black dude walking the other way. His t-shirt had the old Warner Brothers logo on it .. but the lettering was interesting. "If you see the police, Warn-a-Brother." How cute. Let's not get into a whole rant here about what this t-shirt says about the culture this character lives in. I'm just wondering what happens if I go to a mall in a predominately black community wearing a t-shirt with the words "If you see a brother, warn-a-cop." My guess is that I'm not going to fare to well.

What others are saying

  • Warn-A-Brother
I say we all warn a brother. Twenty times a day. Every day. Three-sixty-five a year. Let them all have nervous breakdowns. Then watch the crime rate plumet. LOL!!!
  • @elcapitan
Could you be any more of a bigot? Give me a break. Also, they ARE more targeted; hint: http://www.nyclu.org/files/MARIJUANA-ARREST-CRUSADE_Final.pdf
  • To many things to address
So many things to answer. Neal, your shirt would not fare well. This is an old shirt and it sadly puts out an image that all "brothers" are doing something shady and need to be on constant look-out for the cops. I have led a crime free life, (outside of a few speeding tickets and occasional bad credit), but even I feel uncomfortable passing by police in certain areas. Obama became president because he was the most charismatic and the most liberal, the fact that he is black was a bonus. And who's to say his election won't lead to a backlash. I have this discussion with my wife all the time. The legal system is biased, but as I tell youth all the time, the best way to avoid the system is to not commit crimes in the first place.

As far as this cutting their welfare leading to riots nonsense I would certainly hope not. Since when is it "their welfare" I, along with other African Americans work only to have our income confiscated by the same government that steals from whites for social engineering projects.
  • Warn-a- Bro
"If you see a brother, warn-a-cop."
If you wore a shirt with that wording you would be arrested for hate speech and banned from the UK
  • The Warner Bros. logo
What the "If you see da police, Warn A Brother" seems to be saying is being black goes hand in hand with being a crook. Don't tell me this is white man's perception. A white man didn't create this logo, a black person obviously did.
  • @ T-shirt
thats cuz white bankers are educated and know how to hide what their doing ...

black drug dealers in jail sell rocks outside their front door ...
  • Rockhound
you've got your blinders on too tight.

you call me a stark raving race baiting lunatic, yet all you can come with are GO TO WORK.

who said that i believe that welfare is a right? oh, i know it was you. you say that in order to not answer my questions.
why isn't the bankers who launder drug money getting busted? you don't want to answer that because it would make think outside the lines.

    you're a joke
  • You're Kidding Me, Right?
tshirt doctor, you are a stark raving race baiting lunatic. What if McD's ran out of food. Are you kidding me? Is that the best you can come up with? Here would be a solution if welfare were to end: GO TO WORK! All I get from the black community are the 2 extremes. I get those who want to sit on their lazy asses(yes, there are lazy whites too) or on the other hand I hear stories of black mothers working 2 or 3 jobs so her kids won't go without. For the latter, I would do whatever possible to help her out but for the former, pizzle. I just can't stand people like you who feel welfare is an entitlement. Here's a clue, welfare comes from hard working people like me.

And blacks are in prison because of the man. Dude, get a new argument please.
  • Rockhound
i'm not saying its right, only that's its true. i read somewhere that we'll have a revolution if we go without food for a day. that's everybody. what would you do if the grocery stores were empty of food? and mcdonalds were closed because they didn't have any food?

and the black are filling up the prisons because thats the way its planned. there are no busting of the white drug runners out there. or the bankers who launder there hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Tshirt Doctor
Blacks are being treated as equals. Obama is President. You can't get any further up the work ladder than that. End of discussion for the black racist whiners.
  • To Tshirt Doctor
So, what you're saying is the best way to keep the peace is to keep giving blacks something they didn't earn? Are you serious? I thought blacks wanted to be treated as equals? So, if blacks don't get what they want they'll act like a bunch of savages and riot? Are you listening to yourself? With you're attitude, it's easy to see why prisons are 80% occupied by blacks. (Don't care if this sounds racist. It's the stone cold truth and a fact that is backed up by the numbers)
  • Gee
Gee, in this sue happy world, I wonder why Warner Brothers doesn't sue this company for logo infringement? Probably wouldn't be PC.
  • Steve makes a good point
Could you imagine the rant if there was a NAAWP, a United White College Fund, a white congressional caucus, "historically white colleges," "white entertainment television network," etc...

Of course most people would say there already are these things (the man, every other scholarship program out there, old white senators, all other colleges especially ivy or military, Lifetime channel), they just don't go by the name.
  • Definitely an old one
I saw this shirt in Florida a few years back.

Personally, I think it's more of an insult to black people than to cops.
  • Wow!
Neal has NEVER said anything "anti-black". I've listened to him for years. He is always careful to explain that he is against the CULTURE that fosters the ideas that studying hard in school and doing well is "acting white" and that other things that don't fit into the "culture" Neal is referring to are "Uncle Tom"ish.
  • Give me a break
It's and old joke like Brad mentioned. I personally find it funny every time I see it, and I don't think it should be taken literally. It is similar to word play used in rap music where common phrases or name brands are used to express humor or other ideas. For example, a rapper might say something like, "I've got so much money, they call me Pillsbury Dough Boy". Since you don't appreciate the culture, 'you just wouldn't understand.
  • kkk?
you wake in a bad mood today, neal? you been dreaming about the rodney king riots? cuz it looks today, with these anti-black diatribes going on, that you've got your hoodie on.

you better be thankful that all their doing is wearing t-shirts and extremely low cut pants.

all you welfare haters out there. do you know what would happen if you cut their welfare? riots. big riots. burn their city riots.

and their hate the police culture. i don't blame them. i have been hassled by the police without cause one time. if i was black it would one time a day.

the hate the police culture is many races.
  • lost cause
I wonder of they say "warn" like they say "orange"..you know...like "ernge"
  • Warn A Brother
This logo with the slogan "Warn A Brother" has been around at least 10 years. It used to be more common than it is - I haven't seen it in a while.
  • Wanting it both ways
Why is it that so many black folks continue to try to have it both ways? They want to be brought into the upper tiers of the economy, the business world, and the power structure of the country, yet they continue to do things like this to set themselves apart.

Clearly, not all blacks buy into the set-yourself-apart mentality, but a great many do. Why is there even an NAACP, a United Negro College Fund, a black congressional caucus, "historically black colleges", a "black entertainemt television" network, etc...? Seems to me that you can either become a part of overall society and prosper or you can set yourself apart from it and complain (some more).

I'd love to see the so-called black "leadership" quit their complaining about the "man" holding them down and start bringing some pressure on their youth to straighten up and start contributing at the level at which they should be.
  • COBB County
My black friends inform me that is an acronym for Count On Being Busted - maybe that6 could go on the back of the WB shirt
