The Hill did a little survey to find out exactly what Congressmen think of each other. So over the last couple of months, they asked Representatives to name the hardest and easiest members of Congress to work with. Here's what they found ...

Most partisan Democrats

1. Nancy Pelosi (Calif.)
2. Henry Waxman (Calif.)
3. John Conyers Jr. (Mich.)
4. Barney Frank (Mass.)
5. Jim McDermott (Wash.)

Most partisan Republicans

1. Tom Price (Ga.)
2. Virginia Foxx (N.C.)
3. Jeb Hensarling (Texas)
4. Patrick McHenry (N.C.)
5. Michele Bachmann (Minn.)

Most bipartisan Democrats (listed alphabetically)

Neil Abercrombie (Hawaii)
Rick Boucher (Va.)
Bill Delahunt (Mass.)
Barney Frank (Mass.)
Steny Hoyer (Md.)
Jim Oberstar (Minn.)
Collin Peterson (Minn.)
Ike Skelton (Mo.)
Gene Taylor (Miss.)
Ed Towns (N.Y.)

Most bipartisan Republicans (listed alphabetically)

Judy Biggert (Ill.)
Bob Inglis (S.C.)
Walter Jones (N.C.)
Steven LaTourette (Ohio)
John McHugh (N.Y.)
John Mica (Fla.)
Ron Paul (Texas)
Lee Terry (Neb.)
Fred Upton (Mich.)
Bill Young (Fla.)

Did ya notice anything peculiar about these lists .... How about the fact that Barney Frank is the only House member to appear on both the partisan and bipartisan lists? You will notice also that Nancy Pelosi appears only as a hyper-partisan Democrat.

What others are saying

  • congress
I don't care where you live or who your congressman is,this next election you need to vote him or her OUT! 2010 should be the beginning of term limits for incumbents. The local level is where we all have the most power.Lets exercise it.
  • Barney Frank
Barn shows on both lists and there is no way he goes both ways. He is strictly #ickly.
  • Congress
Looks like a losing team lineup.
  • Stan...
put down the kool-aide...you have had way too much.

I hope that you were actually just trying to be funny. Barney is educated...now that is funny!!!
  • Stan
That has to be right at the bottom of the barrel comments for you.
  • Barney's bi?
That's total Barbara.Streissand! Barney's not bi-partisan, and I highly doubt he's bi-sexual. I mean...who the hell would bang Barney? Maybe Rosie O'Donnell. Of course, she'd be the man in the trist.
  • House Grading Itself
Funny, our representatives rank and grade each other, and yet, we the people are left out. They work with each other behind closed doors and forget about the average Joe..why?. To proceed with their own agenda of power and control. What does this really mean for us? It means we lose.
  • Barney Frank isn't the man
What exactly has Barney Frank accomplished? He shielded Frank Raines and Fannie Mae from regulations proposed by the idiotic Bush and supported by Clinton. The man was supposed to be in charge of the banking committee, but he lined his own pockets and looked the other way. His friends and campaign contributors were more important than the average citizen. His refusal to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was a huge contributor to the economic crisis that we are in now. He also refuses to admit any responsibility for his part in the economic downturn - despite the fact that he chairs the banking committee and shielded Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
  • Barney Frank is the man
For a man of his status to accomplish as much as he has, that is amazing. Half the people on this list probably dont like him cause of stereotypes. One of those stereotypes is that he is way more educated
  • 'Bipartisan'
Nice list. It would be interesting to know just what our Representatives mean when they rated their peers' 'partisanship.'

Frankly, the term 'bipartisan' makes me want to puke. I agree with Ann Coulter that it simply means Republicans caving to the Democrats and getting nothing in return.
  • it doesn't matter
whose in charge of our government. we are going to fall. except for the bankers, they will generate profits as our country goes down in flames.

the banking elite likes you to do this stuff, one party goes after another party. they've got both parties in their pockets. that's why the bonuses keep coming along, and no ones going to stop it.
  • This poll is meaningless
About the only surprise here is that congressmen believe slobbering Barney is a switch-hitter.
