THE BATTLE OVER CAP-AND-TRADE

When it comes to this cap-and-trade scam, just remember one thing: that it is, in fact, a scam created for the purposes of expanding government and getting more of your money out of your pocket. Obama is running up a huge bill and he needs every cent he can get his hands on.

Take a look at what is happening in the battle over this bill. This is according to The Hill:

A committee chairman is threatening House leaders to either give him a role in shaping climate change legislation or risk losing every Democratic vote on his panel when the bill hits the floor.

Rep. Collin Peterson (Minn.), the outspoken Democratic chairman of the Agriculture panel, has been making it well-known that he wants his committee to have full jurisdictional authority over whatever climate change bill emerges from Chairman Henry Waxman's (D-Calif.) Energy and Commerce Committee.

This isn't about the environment, folks. It is about power. Even if you are government educated, you should have been able to figure this out by now.

    Of course GE is interested in cap-and-trade. Established businesses will benefit from C&T, as their emissions will be 'grandfathered', while startups will have to buy the rights to their new emissions. Just like established businesses will welcome zoning that keeps their competition out...

  • Each day I laugh a little more
    I’m still waiting for one of these so-called "global warming experts” to explain to us "uninformed conservatives" what the proper level is for CO2, and how they plan to maintain it. I’d also like to see their plan for regulating solar energy, since that is the primary source of planetary warming.

    Oh, and the Chicoms said today that we need to cut our emissions by 40%. I guess their military did the math and figured that would effectively cripple us to the point where we would no longer be a player in world affairs.

  • it's a scam
    Cap and trade is a SCAM. It allows for two things, 1)politicians to get more powerful by using fear and 2)certain companies to get rich through the use of government power. Certain companies in E&U (energy and utilities) tend to make money hand over fist when people are forced to go these "renewable green energies".

  • Protecting agriculture
    If you read the full article, it actually appears that the chairman is trying to make sure that the concerns of US agriculture are represented in any bills rather than just a power play over authority.

    That's not to say that for any single panel member, there isn't a different, and motive that may involve some desire for control.

    Remember Grade School Science?? - Humans give off CO2 when they breathe and methane when they digest food. Cap and Trade can be applied to YOU, based on your output. Another way down the road the Govt. can tax you.

    It seems pretty obvious that there is a difference between someone who got rich by working hard, building a business that employs many people and produces goods and services that improve our lives and someone (Owl Gore) who is getting rich by scamming the American people out of their tax dollars with bad science and scare tactics.

    Why hasn't anyone counterd the TV adds for the "Waxman-Markey Bill" telling everyone exactly what it is "Cap-N-Trade". The dumb mass's of this country could not tell you who Waxman or Markey are. Are opponents to this insanity that weak kneed?

  • Maybe He Sees What Will Happen?
    Rep. Collin Peterson understands the impact this is going to have on the family farm and food crop prices. The potential economic disaster that Cap & Trade will create will bury the American agricultural economy. Add in the pending inflation cause by spending money we do not have we have a major economic nightmare on the way.

    that every single day that goes by more and more people realize how big of a scam Global Warming is. Anyone with half a brain knew it was all a scam. There is so much proof now that supports the skeptics. Why would the NWO pick such a flimsy idea like Global Warming?

    Over the last few days I have participated in a thread on Fark.com over Man made climate change. I can tell you it does not matter what proof, data or science is offered up to these Zelots for Climate Change. They simply can not accecpt any concept other than Man is destroying the planet. Government Education at its finest.
