A packed house last night at Kennesaw State University for my faux commencement speech. Nobody threw anything at me. Not even any of the Kennesaw faculty members. Thank you, my friends, for the standing "O". Love you long time. And thanks to the event staff at Kennesaw for providing us with a wonderful venue.

The "Commencement Speech" was videotaped by Comcast and will be available on Comcast On Demand in the near future. A gallery of photos, yes, including pictures of Belinda and Cristina, is posted here. We'll also be replaying the speech next week on The Neal Boortz Show ... and the text of the revised speech will be going out in today's Boortz Blast newsletter. If you aren't already a subscriber, you can sign up here.

  • Awwww Ezun
You a bit upset about something? It shows in your whiny, crybaby tone. You upset because you didn't think of it aren't you?
  • Bier Hall?
The speech was great. I wish more people could hear it. The only downside of the evening was when my ears were assaulted by the guy behind me who commented that the speech reminded him of a German bier hall speech in response to his companion's query regarding his thoughts on the speech. The guy didn't look old enough to have first-hand knowledge of those events but, strangely, he did resemble most any history/political science/whateversubject professor I had during my undergrad studies so I a think I can safely assume this was another lost child of the 1960s. Obviously someone was trying to convert a lib friend by bringing him to the event, which is great, but it was illustrative of how difficult it is going to be to fight these freaks when they equate common sense philosophy with nazism. I thought the teleprompters were a great touch. I started listening to Mr. Boortz in the early 1990s and it was great to finally see Neal and the rest of the gang in person. Thanks!
  • YouTube it!
After sufficient time for Comcast to make some money off it (because nothing pisses off the left like profit!), you should put this on YouTube.
  • Commencement Speech
I'm in Iraq with a sloooow internet connection. Will a DVD ever be made available? Proceeds to Neal's favorite charity?
  • Pitiful
Wow, that's a stupid speech. I guess there's a reason it's at Kennesaw State. Boortz loves to talk about "productive" people and losers, but really it's the latter that likes him. I'm sure they're real productive when they sit in their cubes, blow off their crappy jobs, listen to the radio, and blame their lack of success on the evil liberals. I'm also kind of surprised some of those people could fit in the seats. I'm sure the same isn't true when they're on the airlines. Kennesaw State probably has to special order big ones, and maybe install extra AC.

Also, anyone could "sit in a studio and converse with people on a variety of subjects the way that Neal does". BSing is not a rare skill, and that's all his show is.
  • Josh and Hugotwit
"...but give it a rest on his speech-giving capabilities." Oh, what a retarded statement. Remember all of the times you and the rest of your liberal "rape the country" friends talked about how Bush couldn't speak in front of a camera. Don't get your hopes too high there bub. I plan to rip that moron you put in office each and every day and I hope Boortz does too. Oh, by the way, have a great day ;)
  • Teleprompters
Josh, the difference is that I don't know if Pres. Obama could sit in a studio and converse with people on a variety of subjects the way that Neal does.

When using a prepared speech, that is to be recorded for use on TV, the smart person uses a teleprompter, and Neal has never said that Obama should not use them.

He said something akin to he shouldn't use them every time he is in front of a couple of people.

I've also seen Neal talk to a large group off the cuff, without a prompter, and he did very well, because he didn't have to try and compare what he was saying to what he's said in the past.

I'm sure those that were there enjoyed the speech, and am thankful that Neal donated the money to the Make A Wish foundation.

That sets a good example for us as well.

Will this be available on You Tube?
  • Cristina
    Is all woman.

    Yowza.
  • Thoughts about the telepromters
Hey people of the dumb-masses! When giving a SPEECH, you should use teleprompters! Neal's and the rest of the world's criticism is the fact that Obama cannot speak otherwise without them at all. Neal speaks to the world daily without them. No one is saying you shouldn't use one when giving a speech. It would just be nice to hear some coherent thought from Obama when he is not giving a speech.
  • Neal looks
exactly like the guy that used to be on the old Yahtzee box. (I kid with love Neal)
  • Teleprompter Tirade
To the folks bashing Neal about using a Teleprompter - get a life. Here's the diff, Neal uses one to give an occassional speech, Obama uses one for every speech, announcement, introduction, etc. It would be like Neal using one to do his show, then you would have something to clammer about.
  • Oooh! Pics of Belinda AND Christina. I'm so there!
  • nice teleprompter
You berate Obama for using them, but here you are, presenting a speech you wrote yourself (no speech writers for Neal), have had in your pocket for 8 years, have talked about many times, and yet you can't present it without a teleprompter? You and Hannity go on and on about his use of them, but you yourself need one too. I hope you'll give that tired criticism a break now. Go after his politics, but give it a rest on his speech-giving abilities...
  • Great evening...
Neal, my dad bought me your book "The Terrible Truth About Liberals" in the late 90s when I was a senior in high school, and that was where I first encountered your "commencement speech." I have since bought several copies and given to younger family members when they were ready to graduate school, and will continue to do so in the future. Your new, improved version last night was great, and it's unfortunate more people can't hear it. Keep up the good work, at least until you retire for quilting classes at that assisted-living place you'll be in soon.

    All the best!
  • When does your alma mater get the speech?
    Neal,

When do us poor Aggies get the chance to see this speech in person?
  • Yay!!
On Demand is a wonderful, I'll be looking for it.
  • Great Speech
Read it years ago, and reread it again this week. Only one minor tiny little complaint if I may?

NOT ENOUGH PICTURES OF CRISTINA!!! Ay Caramba, there's a woman!!!
  • great speech
    Neil,
I loved it. Listen always, but hadn't seen you since Boortzapalooza!! Quit talking about retirement. We need you!!
    Keep up the good work!!
  • Yeah, but are people PAYING to see Matt Lauer deliver a commencement speech?
No! They pay Matt, but the people in the audience didn't pay (going to charity - thanks for that) to see the speech as those last night did.

    Who's the bigger stud?
  • Nice teleprompter
What? You can't give this speech off the top of your head?
  • 2 telepromters???
Quick!!! Get those back to Obama before he notices that they were missing!!!!!!
  • I really enjoyed the speech. If you had of been giving the commencement speech at my college graduation I might have decided it was worth going to. Instead I decided I would rather stay at work and be productive instead of taking a vacation day. I started listening to you in college, and I really wish you would never retire.
  • Youtube?
@TalkMaster, now that you have twitter going, embrace the web fully by publishing your speech on the web.

Who knows, it may even go viral & spread to the generation who needs to hear this stuff.
