Some interesting email from someone who has never listened to my show. What a surprise:

Name: Alberto Mota
City: El Paso, Texas.
Subject: Swine flu!!??

first of all i just want to make clear the fact that i've never listened to you show by radio, you may ask yourself how do i know about you, or you may not because you seem to be a very popular man in your region at least, but well the reason i know you is because this morning i was watchig the news in a mexican channel, and they were talking about what everyone else is talking in the world: swine flu. so it got to my attention a piece that this channel put about your program.. i don't know, i just don't get, the way you say that every single mexican is a carrier..

what are you talking about???!!

and the fact that you don't want any mexican around you, not working in your properties, well, you know what... i don't think so, you need us, as well as we need dollars to pay our bills and to give shelter and food to our families, i mean, you need us, and we don't even need you, we didn't come to this country for you, we came because we needed to, and we don't go over there to cause problems, and i know there's people that become criminals and put a stain in our name, but there is people like that everywhere, and you know you're not helping us, and actually you know that the world you're dreaming on is not possible anymore..

One of the things i can't totally get is people like you, leaders that take their followers to a totally wrong way, all full of hatered and nationalisms...

coming back to the swine flu topic, if you're the responsable guy you seem to be, don't lie to your audience, think before you talk, inform youself and then if you have a reason to, blame someone, or on the other hand try to help the situation instead of getting it worse..

with the respect you deserve,

a citizen of the world...

Oh I love that "citizen of the world" nonsense. If you think you're a citizen of the world, try voting in elections outside your country. You folks know the truth here. I have never said any of the things alluded to in this character's email.

What others are saying

  • Smells like libel
Neal, looks like a slam dunk case if you find the TV station this guy was watching.
  • Citizen of the World
The best definition of 'Citizen of the World' can be found in the movie 'Casablanca'. When Major Strasser asks Rick what his nationality is, Rick replies; "I'm a drunkard." Louis chimes in with "And that makes Rick a Citizen of the World!" Ever since, every time I hear someone describe thenselves as a Citizen of the World, I automatically think: Drunkard.
  • You had me at Hello...
And then by the second paragraph, I just couldn't read anymore.

Oh, and by the way, I don't listen to your show... or read your daily Nuze either. Well besides today, which is the first time I have done it since, well, yesterday.
  • illegals
The high points are, in brief, the Mexican Constitution states that:
    - Immigrants and foreign visitors are banned from public political discourse.
    - Immigrants and foreigners are denied certain basic property rights.
    - Immigrants are denied equal employment rights.
    - Immigrants and naturalized citizens will never be treated as real Mexican citizens.
    - Immigrants and naturalized citizens are not to be trusted in public service.
    - Immigrants and naturalized citizens may never become members of the clergy.
    - Private citizens may make citizens arrests of lawbreakers (i.e., illegal immigrants) and hand them to the authorities.

see what happens when a gringo demonstrates in Mexico
  • Real
That would be fine IF THEY WERE LEGAL~!

We can't afford them, too many are already on welfare, their supporters want SChip to cover their children.

It sucks that people can't see this. The world would be so wonderful if we had enough to spread the love and teach them all to sing but hey WAKE UP, we CAN NOT aford them.
  • Response to Joyce
Joyce, you wrote, ". . .they can get the illegals for less, not because they work harder."

I'll bet the Mexicans do work harder, but let's say for the sake of discussion that their productivity is the same as an American. Then capitalism would say hire the person who will do the same job for less.

Let's go even farther and say the Mexican employee works 10% slower, but is willing to work for 30% less . . . then he or she is still the better choice.

It's about the *ratio* of productivity to wages. And from what I have observed, the Mexican employee wins in both the numerator and denominator of that ratio.

The world is flat, my friends. You better have some marketable skills because there's a programmer in India, an engineer in China, a seamstress in Cambodia, a call center operator in the Philippines, and landscapers from Mexico ready, willing, and able to do the work for less than you'd do it.
  • alberto and the swine flu
One can assume that if it is raining in El Paso and if Alberto Mota were out in it,his back would be wet.
    roger that.
  • My Favorite Part
Is when he said he didn't need us, but then said that he HAD to live here. So, if he HAD to live here, wouldn't he need us?
  • Positive
Hey, at least the email was in English (barely). That's something to smile about.
  • give us your poor, your diseased, your dumbasses
Only diseased peasants enter this country illegally. Thanks but no thanks.
  • Real Capitalist
You are making several "assumptions" yourself there. I know lots of legal folk who would love those jobs, but the criminal employers know they can get the illegals for less, not because they work harder.

And I do not like any government that is working against me. Perfectly logical there.

Also, Boortz did NOT get racial on the flu, the emailer and his source did.
  • Email
If in fact this is a real email then it is quite possible that this individual was only listening to a translation of your show,Neal. In this case there is no telling what the translator has divined out of your message.
  • Politically Incorrect Joke
A black man will be elected to the office of President of the United States when pigs fly.

    100 days later, swine flew
  • "a citizen of the world..."
Why is it that the ideals of the so called "citizens of the world" seem to only apply to their "rights" to felon illegal entry into this Country?
  • Question?
What are my rights as a citizen of the world?
Do I get my right for a paid vacation?
  • Real capitalists embrace Mexican work force
Those of you who rant and rave about illegal Mexicans "taking your jobs" are just upset that most Mexicans work a lot harder and for less money than you do. I thought Boortz fans were capitalists. And in capitalism, he or she who presents the best value proposition (ratio of productivity to wage) for his or her services gets the job.

Instead, you're whining to the government (whcih you love to hate) to come to your aid by kicking your competition out of the country.

And please leave racism out of the swine flu discussion. Boortz, you're better than that . . . and besides the whole swine flu is an overhyped media concoction anyway.
  • Uninformed opinions
So he admits right away that he's never listened to Neals show, yet he has this opinion, very likely biased, provided by a television media outlet. You know, on The Simpsons they made a joke about how much Homer trusts what he sees on TV. I see far too many people that trust thier TV as if God itself is speaking through it, instead of thinking for themselves and doing a little research.
  • re: McCall
You are absolutely right with your approach. I wish I had done the same recently. I was having some work done and stopped by one day to see the entire sheetrock crew was latino and none could speak english.

That leads me to the point that we always hear only about yard work and things "we" will not do. That is crap. This has bled over into skilled and semi-skilled construction jobs and I know many citizens who would take those jobs.
  • citizen of the world
Maybe this guy IS voting outside of his country?
  • Mr.(Senor) Mota
I lived in Nicaragua for three years and Mota is what the locals called Marijuana. I think this guy is stoned...
  • Mr. Mota
Mr Alberto Mota? Are you serious....Mr. Albert Marijuana
  • Voting
I'm sure Acorn could help him vote in U.S. elections.
  • Does this guy really sound Mexican?
    Sayins like:

"well, you know what... i don't think so"
    and
"One of the things i can't totally get"

only show that this is what you guys have called "seminar" callers/writers. This isn't a "Mexican".....

A Mexican would have required you to provide a translator and required you to put your entire web site in Spanish before he wrote to you!
  • Mexican does not equal illegal
Did I miss the part of his letter where he was defending illegals?

Seems to me he is just taking offense at the implication all Mexicans are carriers of the swine flu.

There are illegal Mexicans but not all Mexicans are illegal.
  • the media
well, the media he was watching was obviously as sorry as our here in US. Sure, he should have tuned in first before sending the letter, but it's really the network that distorted Neal's words at fault here.
  • Neal, let me translate for you
"Citizen of the World" = Open Borders Advocate

More liberal/la raza drivel. Why do you post this stuff, anyway? We don't care what those statists have to say.
  • Actually, Neal, you have
occasionally over-generalized a characteristic across a larger group. So did the author of this letter. The set of all people that arrive in this country from Mexico includes the set of people who arrived in this country from Mexico in a "less than approved" (i.e., ILLEGAL) manner. As long as this smaller set remains non-empty, people like Neal (and I) will be exposed to the possibility that we may over-generalize one set to include the other. Now, if Mexico figures out how to keep its lawbreakers out of other peoples' countries ... and the USA learns how to do the same ... then maybe we can talk about "citizen of the world". Unfortunately, the best I can do is "citizen of my country, resident of the planet"
  • Illegal Aliens Are Federal Criminals
Mr. Mota can add me to the list of American citizens that do not want to hire criminals to work for me.

I required a roofing contractor last September to provide a certification to me all employees on my property were not Federal criminals. Same thing when I had more hardwood flooring installed in our house this year. Same thing when I replaces some windows and redid our deck. Contractors are at first surprised, but so far none have refused.

I disagree with Mr. Mota's illogical view that I need criminals to work for me, no matter what he thinks about criminals needing my money to pay their bills, provide food and shelter to their families. My answer is go home, or go through the process to become an American citizen.
