Newt Gingrich is having his say about Obama's Supreme Court nominee. Newt believes that Sonia Sotomayor is a "racist."

North Korea threatened military action against American and South Korean warships yesterday. I wonder how Obama will handle this one. Maybe the UN can write another stern letter.

The June 1st deadline for GM is rapidly approaching. The way things are working out, the government could end up owning as much as 69% of GM.

You are going to love this ... politicians in Washington are considering the idea of a national sales tax. No, not the FairTax. An additional tax on top of what you already pay.

The taxpayers will spend $4 billion to create "green jobs" that will make government housing more energy efficient.

Now Tony Blankley will explain the economic reality of these "green jobs."

President Obama's energy adviser has a brilliant plan to slow global warming: all the world's roofs should be painted white.

If Obama and the Democrats want a sure-fire way to kill our economy .. passing this cap-and-trade scheme should do the trick.

Income tax revenue has dropped 44% since last year. Don't worry, the imperial federal government will find ways to get more money.

Tax credits to spur economic growth? Ya don't say!

This headline fits right in nowadays: It's time to nationalize grocery stores. Yes, folks, it is satire.

At least 35 states have introduced legislation this year asserting their power under the Tenth Amendment.

Are you really shocked to hear that some people in our own country believe the American flag to be offensive? Take a look at what is happening in one office in Texas.

You know it's bad when your own Vice President makes fun of your dependency on teleprompters.

Wow, here's a website that takes wealth envy to a whole new level.

What others are saying

  • Wrecked Exotics
It's a cool site, not at all wealth envy. When I bought my Vette, I gave the site a long hard look, so maybe won't try my luck too far.
  • Oh brother
Oh, so now some African immigrant finds the American flag "offensive" huh? What if we find an african immigrant offensive? Nah, that jerk Jesse would be there in a second. Ok, find her hairstyle offensive, or the way she dresses or the way she smells. It's almost as if people are embarassed to be American these days..thanks to that dipweed Obama apoligizing all over the world.

As for the national sales tax..well good, that should cream all those loser parasites that don't pay taxes in the first place who thought only the "rich" would be taxed more. Serves them right for voting pea brain in, and I hope they suffer....
  • VAT and the Fairtax crap
See?? I knew this would happen. Too many people actually trusted the idea that the government would end income tax and go to a retail sales tax. That's what you get for trusting them. Screw ANY tax, period. HR1207 is the way baby and it currently has 179 co-sponsors!!!
  • It's not about the VAT
They are smearing the concept of "National Sales Tax" which is what the Fair Tax will be called. The VAT is a trial balloon and a distraction. If they don't get opposition they'll put one in and tax us. If it is opposed it wastes energy that could be focused on other issues such as health care. The whole idea is meant to smear the Fair Tax and distract conservatives from the reall issues at hand. Don't fall for it.
  • $mooth operator
So Crap and tirade is what directive 10-289 looks like in real life?
  • White Roofs
Why is it that the US is vilified at every turn and blamed for all the woes (economic, environmental, historic, etc.) that go on in this world? Are there just a bunch of idiots sitting around in Washington getting paid to think up stuff like this? Is there any research into if this woudl actually work or make a difference? Of course not, actually researching stuff would take too long wouldn't it?!
  • Terry G
No, I didn't know Saul was born in Chicago. I just started reading his book. What I already know about him is from The Obama Nation.

I heard on Glen Beck this morning ACORN was founded by those who follow the psychology of flooding the nation with so many demands for aid as to destroy it. I didn't hear all of it, but it got my attention. Sounds like the same school of thought.
  • American Flag Flap
So a person who immigrated to the US over 14 years ago finds the US flag offensive? Why didn't that person just go to another country then? Would anyone dare go to say, Mexico and live in that country, work in that country for years and then say that the Mexican flag is offensive? And for the hospital administration, you should know that you don't have to cave and give in just because someone complains. Why don't you take some time, investigate the situation and then see what is right and what is wrong. Being an American, loving our country, and loving our flag is not wrong! Grow a pair and stand up for what is right!
  • Ben Dover
But here’s the Ironic part (you may already know this), Alinsky was born in Chicago and was community organizer there… , I guess the socialist apple doesn’t fall far from the socialist tree
  • Fight the VAT
We all need to send Sen. Kent Conrad our copies of the Fair tax book so he can understand what real tax reform looks like. Just imaging if his office rec'd thousands of copies of the fair tax book. What a statement that would make!
  • What's really behind C(r)ap and T(i)rade
The real thuggery that needs to be uncovered in all of this, is the power play by the dimocrats that are having the ‘free’ cap components funnelled to their local industries in order to gain their votes. This cap-and-trade proposal is a major grab of energy resources for ’special’ businesses and certain labor pools.

Look for the car companies in non-unionized states to be slapped with massive ‘cap’ taxes in order to shut them down for the greater good of the new ‘government motors’.

Also look for no new manufacturers to open any plants in the US. Since ‘new’ manufacturers will receive none of the ‘free’ cap-and-trade credits, it will be impractical start a new production line in the US. Certain ‘favored’ companies, like GE, will be allowed to move their ‘free’ credits from one facility to another, creating a monopoly for themselves.

Yeah, that's change you can believe in.
  • White Roofs
The only way this would have even a small impact on the Earth's albedo (which is the entire reason of painting the roof white) would be to also paint every road white as well. However, I fear that with all the toxic paint in the atmosphere we may not have considered the indirect effect of the aerosal particles released via the spray gun of the paint. (I'm assuming that we aren't going to be painting all this by hand).

Let's do a quick math quiz...How much land makes up the Earth (vs Water). 31% Now how much of THAT is industrialized...a little trickier but lets say about 1.5% of LAND USE is used for Urban areas...which means that 1.5% of 31% of the Earth would be painted (assuming EVERYTHING is painted). This is 0.465% of the Earth's albedo being altered AT THE MAX...which would never happen anyway.
    Sorry...try again Professor EggHead.
  • @Terry G
Right out of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals (President Obama's playbook); the ends always justify the means. Lie, cheat, or steal. It does not matter. The ends always justify the means.
  • Painting everyone's roof white is what you get when non-engineers are put in a position to make policies that need at least a little bit of scientific knowledge...a degree in political science doesn't cut it. I'd like to see the thermodynamic calculations used in this brilliant scheme. Next thing you know cities will have to replace all of thier asphalt and concrete roads with gravel...won't that be fun when it rains.
  • Thuggery We Can Believe In
"Responding to Gingrich's post, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Sotomayor's opponents should be "exceedingly careful" in their criticisms." This just makes my skin crawl. When in history have threats like this been made to silence people? Unfortunately the Republican Party, or any Republican Congressman will have to risk further alienation if they dare to criticize. Saul's rules at work.
  • The new racism
Doesn't this make Newt the New Al Sharpton?
  • 2/3 majority
If 37 states are willing to fight for their rights, isn't this enough to get something done? 33 states is more than enough. 33 states together can get a lot done. Perhaps with this many states would could form a new federal government.
  • National Sales Tax eh?
It is obvious this is the direction will be end up going, but the real question is whether or not the US will still be around once this tax has been approved. Wouldn't a VAT imply that the North American Union is coming?
  • Nat'l Sales Tax vs Fair Tax
IMNSHO FairTax would be the best thing to happen to this country since the Declaration of Independence. We need to do everything we can to distance ourselves from the collectivists' VAT. Repealing the XVIth Amendment is an absolute to implement FairTax and we can't dare to climb into the left's lice-infested bed.
  • Nat'l Sales Tax
You just know that some knuckle-headed politician out there is going to try to draw parallels between this sales tax and the Fair Tax, with the express purpose of discrediting the Fair Tax.
  • a national sales tax
No need to worry, the national sales tax will only apply to the top 5%, you know... PBO said that 95% would not see one dime more in taxes... oh… sorry, he must have meant "income" tax, now I can't wait for the poor, poor, pitiful poor, to start complaining about how poor they are, but somehow it will be Bush’s fault.
Deception, bait and switch, stretch the truth, whatever you want to call it, it all boils down to pandering to the stupid, when the stupid believe politicians... we are in trouble, well guess what, the government educated have spoken and I get a feeling that Atlas is getting a twitch.
  • Steve O
    Yes, you are wrong.
  • 10th amendment
If we could get 38 states to repeal the 17th amendment then the senate would go back to being the representative of the states will in Washington and you wouldn't have to worry about affirming the 10th.
  • "Offensive" Flag
I think of universities that try to ban the flag. Does someone who plans to spend the better part of four years in this country getting a degree think they can do it without seeing a U. S. Flag? If so, are they really college material?
  • VAT
Of course they want a VAT. It may be the last untried method in this country for putting in a hidden tax. Don't worry, the cowards in congress will not be able to put in a straight national sales tax that actually shows up on the receipt. And it will also be illegal to inform your customers how much the price of your product is increased by the VAT.
  • painting roofs white
Up here in the northern half of the country, we already have a method of making our roofs white for half of the year. It's called snow. But despite our efforts to reduce global warming, our temperatures always go up again, right around April.

Ironically, with global warming reaching catastrophic proportions (according to the Nobel winner Gore) this is the coldest spring we've had in about 20 years. It's nearly June and I still turn the heat on in my house at least once a week.

Has Al Gore thought about the increased energy needs brought on by cooling off our planet once his brilliant plan kicks in?
  • taking down a flag
Why would someone from Africa take down a flag And the lady that put it up is the one that get in trouble. Wend the person that removed the flag put it on the floor, I would have FIRE him or her and deducted the price of a new flag because the one that touched the floor needs to be brought to the V.F.W. hall so it can be take care of. This country used to be the melting pot. But now we have people from other country tring to tell us that our flag is offensive to them all I have to say to them is take your a$$ home to where you can see the red white and blue, then maybe you will remenber why you came here in the frist place. what a jerkweed
  • And, Newt is a loser
    ibid
  • American Flag
Disgusting that some (as I was reading last night) African Immigrant took offense to our flag on Memorial Day!!!! Kiss my grits!

But really disgraceful was that her supervisors backed this moron and made her take the flag down. Pathetic.

I've had an American Flag hanging from my car visor since 9/11. Never took it down, had to replace it once. And it ain't coming down I don't care who don't like it!
  • National Sales Tax?
Don't Democrats demonize Republicans who support the Fair Tax by saying they support an additional sales tax? And now that the Dems propose an additional sales tax, it's actually a good thing? My head hurts!
  • American Flag
This is the e-mail I shot to the hospital:

This is regarding the outrageous act on the part of the boss of Debbie McLucas. Ms. McLucas has every right as an American citizen, to display the U.S. flag. It's not just a sign of patriotism, but of respect for those who have served this country. Anyone who is 'offended' by Old Glory being displayed is an ass. As I understand, her supervisor placed the flag on the FLOOR. I served as a U.S. Soldier for 30 years and I fought in Iraq, twice. I did not wear the uniform just to have disrespectful, anti-American ingrates, stifle the free speech and pride of American citizens. Anyone who reaps the benefits of the freedoms in this country, should be willing to show appreciation, or get out.
If you have a problem with the flag, make sure you remove the one in front of your hospital.
  • Read My Lips: NO NEW TAXES
It's time to "vote the rascals out" - no incumbent gets so much as ONE vote.
  • Wrecked Exotics
I have LOVED this site for several years... though I'll admit I only go to their "weird wrecks" section, not the part where all the expensive cars are wrecked.
  • A national sales tax? You don't say.
Boortz should really know better. If anything resembling Fairtax was to be implemented, we would first have to go through a phase where we have both an income tax, as well as a national sales tax.

And if a transition to anything that could be called Fairtax is ever implemented, by the time the crowd in Washington gets through improving it, Boortz will wish he never brought the whole thing up.

    Tell me if I'm wrong.
  • Obama & NoKo
If the phone rings at 3a.m., dumbo ears won't answer the phone, he'll let his wife answer it.

After all, she doesn't need any beauty sleep does she?

Then he'll "fire off" a "sternly written" note to the UN Security Council.
  • Arrrgh!
Oh so much to say, Sotomayor a racist...SO!!! Does it really matter? She can be a racist child molester and it won't matter to the left and the media. But if it was a republican who had a jay-walking ticket 20 years ago we'd hear cries of "burn him, burn him at the stake!!!"

The VAT!!! Arrggh. What's their argument?? Europe is doing it!... Really now? Come on!

It still blows me away that we have a president now that has not even completed his first full term as a senator, who was a professor, and a community organizer prior to that has the arogance to use the USA and us Americans as his personal lab experiment. Hey, let's force everyone to paint their roofs white during summer, and black in the winter. Oh you can't afford it, we'll help we will charge an extra tax on those who can afford the bi-yearly paint job to cover the expense of those who can't afford it, oh by the way you will also get a free roof every 2 years because of the paint build-up.

    UNBELEIVEABLE!!!!
