Today Obama is going to announce new nationwide fuel efficiency standards. This is the government telling the failing automakers what types of cars they can build. How much better off would we be if these automakers could simply make cars we wanted to buy?

Obama and Israel's Netanyahu aren't seeing eye-to-eye on Obama's plan for a two-state solution. Just so you know ... the Arab world will never accept a bona-fide two-state solution that permits the continued existence of Israel.

Obama has laid out a timetable for talking to Iran. Yeah, this ought to go over real well. Iran has a timetable too. Anyone worried about that one.

Are we in for a good old-fashioned congressional coup?

Here's something to take note of ... China and Brazil want to use their own currencies, rather than the dollar, in trade transactions. This will only get worse as America slides deeper and deeper into debt.

Apparently Barack Obama is backing off promises to renegotiate NAFTA. Funny how that happens, isn't it?

Here is some potentially good news from Washington ... the card check bills is pretty much dead. I just hate this for the goonion movement.

    but Newt isn't exactly one to be throwing the rotten tomatoes. Didn't he get ousted as Speaker for some scandal or other? He's no prize either, IMO.

    You and Bryon both make incorrect inferences about me. I'm half a Libertarian, half a Republican (80/20). I'm just too pissed off at the GOP right now to settle for that whole Spy vs. Spy thing I grew up hearing on talk radio fifteen years ago. The Left and the Right now commit the same crimes.

    I admit I lack the wherewithal to lead the new argument that needs to happen but in the meantime I do know I can bust the balls of those who want the old one to continue.

    When have I ever supported Pelosi or Obama? Never.

    don't even know where to begin with this post... Are you trying to call Neal a hypocrite for not falling in line with the masses? If so...wow. Fist off Ayn Rand, along with our Founding Fathers, were terrified of "mob rule". This is why we are a Republic as opposed to a Democracy; the masses are by and large ignorant and are far too easily manipulated. The framers realized this danger and made provisions to protect individuals from the masses.

    Forget the term "Tea Parties"...looks like we'll have a few more drinks to choose from to rally the next anti-tax protests in the near future...how about:

    "The Atlanta Coke Party" - and I'm not talking the kind that Rick James used to be apart of in the 80's

    "The St. Louis Bud Party" - this might even attract some stoner liberals to join our cause by accident.

    "The Hawaiian Punch Party" - even the left coast kool-aid guzzlers should appreciate this name, right? They would finally have an appropriate conservative counterpart...richer in taste though:)

    Once again, you are being a hypocrite. Pelosi lying as the Speaker with American flags right behind her is worse that a whiney partisan mouthpiece who has no power.

    The biggest problem with politics today is that people are so partisan that they will aggressively defend crooked politicians who are members of the party they support. We should hold our politicians accountable - regardless of which party they come from.

    As I said the other day, we are all hypocrites from time to time. It's when we stop to realize it that we grow.

    He said repeatedly, we have a choice to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, sending $billions to Hugo, the Saudis, etc. Conserving gas the only answer. God forbid he utters the word "drill" in any of this. He does not want to reduce our dependence. He wants to mandate private enterprise.

    I'm tired of hearing about "rebranding" especially with Republicans. We are not talking about boxes of cereal. I understand this is the age of bumper sticker slogans. Or maybe now it's Twitter slogans. But we need to stop playing by their rules. Instead of aiming for the lowest common denominator, we need to start trying to get people to think. Rebranding to win over the stupid people isn't going to do it.

  • Some thoughts on Israel
    Back in 1978 we had Carter, Sadat and Begin pound out the Camp David Accord.

    Now we have Obama trying to bring Israel, the Palestinians and neighboring Arab nations together.

    He can try if he wants to, spend your money too. But can it last? Of course not.

    Any Arab ruler who signs a peace agreement with Israel, acknowledges Israel without the consent of the Arab people, (which they know they would never get). It would be their own death warrant, (Sadat didn't die from old age).

    Israel will also defend Israel, (bombing nuclear facilities in Iran in 1981 and again in 2009?) which would negate any peace initiative.

    All this to fulfill a campaign promise?

    In general, Newt seems to give thoughtful, rational opinions but he's gone over the edge this time. Does he honestly think Pelosi should lose her job as Speaker for saying the CIA lied? Maybe Newt should ask Colin Powell what he thinks of the CIA.

    This isn't a scandal, it's a desperate, transparent Republican attempt to slow down the Truth Commission. It very well may accomplish that goal but you're a sucker if you believe Pelosi will no longer be Speaker because of this. Gingrich is just carrying the water for the Republican party. Not his normal role but, hey, jobs are scarce for Republicans.

    It just amazes me at the gall of the government. Now they are getting just silly. They are almost to the point of legislating technology that does not currently exist. Hey I've got an idea, why don't we just legislate that by 2020 all cars must fly and run off dirty diapers. Seriously, can we just let car makers decide what they want to make, and base their decision on what Americans want to buy. If there is this huge market for tiny bubble cars that get 60 mpg nothing is stopping them from making them. If the market exists some one would be cashing in.

    Well, I was beginning to believe the folks in DC might be onto something. Triple the money supply, create hyperinflation and pay off our debts by reducing the value of those debts.

    But what happens when China and Brazil demand they be repaid in their currency rather than the devalued dollars?

    I heard about the cheering throngs chanting for Obama at their graduation at Notre Dame. "Raucously enthusiastic" is how the Washington Times referred to it.

    This means the youth of today, even those educated by Catholics, are behind Barack "Dr. Death" Obama 110%. He can do no wrong. Even if he were to puncture an infant's head with a needle, suck out the brains, and toss the baby in a trashcan, He can do what he wants, these students at Notre Dame are Okay with that. "Differences of opinion."

    This attitude means Pelosi is regarded as a Hero, fighting the good fight, against the evil CIA.

    The Greens in Germany had a great slogan a few years ago: Legal, Illegal, Scheissegal. Yep, it means what you think it means. Legally, illegally, it doesn't matter.

    The Liberals the world over are having their velvet revolution and I believe they've won.

    College kids being punk asses not withstanding, Obama won the popular vote and he, and folks behind his agenda, will hold on to power from here on out.

    The wife and I talked about this the other day. There literally is nowhere to go now. The old world will be under Sharia in a generation, and the new world will be beholding to the tyranny of the majority.

    Ahhhhh so much to enjoy.

    The day Nancy is no longer Speaker will ALMOST make up for Obama being President.

    Israel - what a mess, no good way out of that one, the Arabs will never acknowledge their right to exist and I don't think Israel will go along with the two state idea until they do. We should stay out of it, but we probably won't. There will be war.

    Well well, Rahm on Rod's call log, ain't that surprising? NO. I'm now calling this the Empire of Corruption.

    It looks like Jim Rogers was right about the dollar. I am glad that I got rid of my dollar holdings and started buying up renmimbi and reais. (For you government educated types out there "renmimbi" and "reais"(reals in English) are the currency units for China and Brazil respectively.)
