Here are the latest details on how the Obama administration plans to get its hands on the money you've sent overseas to escape our confiscatory taxation.

Just in case you weren't aware .. the US may have high budget deficits, but it is not Barack Obama's fault!

Politicians in Washington are hashing out the details of this new credit-card consumer bill of rights. Jury is still out for me on this.

When it comes to probes into the Bush interrogation techniques, the GOP now has something to throw in the Democrats' faces: Nancy Pelosi. What a hag.

Have you been following the back and forth right now over whether or not the country is more or less safe with Obama as president?

John McCain says that Obama does not have the authority to use TARP money intended for banks in order to bailout the auto industry.

The White House still believes that its stimulus plan is going to create 3.5 million jobs by 2011. Some economists beg to differ.

Is Washington going to bailout the newspaper industry? Kevin Hassett says that failed liberal newspapers should be allowed to fail.

Read this article about how your stimulus dollars are being spent, and then tell my why on earth you want government in charge of anything in your life.

The Justice Department has sounded the warning for corporate America that the government is going to "aggressively" investigate big firms that improperly dominate markets.

An upcoming war funding bill is set to include money to relocate inmates from Guantanamo Bay. Now the question is .. where are they going to go?

Florida Governor Charlie Christ is going to run for the Senate seat opening up due to the retirement of Mel Martinez.

Maybe this will explain a thing or two about why Congress is going to get away with this ridiculous cap-and-trade scheme ... only 24% of voters know what cap-and-trade actually is. What a surprise.

Here's a real shocker .. in the Arab world, Barack Obama is more popular than the United States.

White House officials want you to know that Wanda Sykes' joke about Rush Limbaugh was not funny. Got it?

Australia is worried about a potential sub-prime mortgage meltdown, and it is looking to the United States to learn from its mistakes.

Greece has barred Google Street View from taking any more images.

This is what some thug in Florida believes it takes to be a rapper. Gotta love that Hip Hop culture.

A Saudi judge has determined that a husband has the right to slap his wife for spending too much money.

The government wants to make sure that you know that attending a "swine flu party" is a bad idea. Just in case you couldn't figure that one out for yourself.

What others are saying

  • The White House HAS Spoken
    Dear Buss,
Here is your problem. Your brain just isn't sheepish enough yet. You are still thinking independently and if this keep up, the thought police are going to show up at your door. This kind of thinking is forbidden and you should know that.
    Sincerely,
    A Recovered Thinker
  • Wanda Sykes
    To DanTheMan,

You are right that we should lighten up and let Wanda say the hateful things she said. I want her to have the right to say those things without fear of government retribution.

But Dan, She was showing the difference between liberalism and conservatism. That difference is that the commentators on the right go after a person because of their actions while serving as elected officials. Those on the left go after a person who has a different value system or differing political views.

Also, liberals are out to silence that person by destroying them or sending government agents after them. There is a big difference and I have been noting it for years.

Note there is a difference in wishing someone's policies would fail and wishing that someone's kidneys would fail.

Another example of how the left operates is the attack on Carrie Prejean. Carrie was called a name and lamblasted because she dared to honestly answer the question that was asked her. Left wing people want to silence all opposition.

Will what the judge did to Carrie be included in the "hate speech" law the left is shoving through Congress or will it only include those on the right who dare to speak out?

I am going to answer my own question. Liberals believe that they can use the government to silence opposition. They are not far sighted enouogh to see that eventually, they, too, will be silenced! Obama will not always be in power! Someday a person who hates homosexuals, or journalist, or abortion proponents, or evolutionist, or new age religionist, etc, will take control. That is when the left will miss the free speech they are attempting to take away.
  • T-Shirt, in defense of Rush
It's clear that for whatever reason, you don't like Rush, but it's not fair to call him a "junkie". That term normally applies to a careless individual who experiments with drugs illegally, and then becomes addicted to them. In Rush's case, he didn't mainline heroin -- he became addicted to pain killers that were legitimately prescribed for pain by his doctor. This happens to people all the time.

If you don't like Rush, that's fine. But there is a HUGE difference between street junkies and someone who becomes addicted to medecine that is prescribed by a doctor.
  • Credit Card Companies
Can anyone tell me what credit card companies do that the Federal Government doesn't also do?
  • Sykes
Seems to me that Sykes is just proving Rush Limbaugh's point. He has said all along that the far left have hatred and anger. He has wondered outloud where they would direct that hatred and anger once they had complete power.

Now we know. They aim it at what few conservative voices are still out there and Rush and Cheney are a big part of those voices. Our government (I cringe when I say those words) has gone from fighting terrorist to fighting those with whom they disagree. Those on the left think they will be pleased once all right wing conservative voices are permanently silenced. They do not realized that their voices will be next.

On a different note, Obama must have cozied up with the oil tycoons. Gas prices are going up again and we all know that when gas prices go up it is because the "president" is benefiting financially, or do you have to be a Republican for that to hold true?
  • Raising taxes
Mr. Obama apparently supports biofuels because they increase tax revenue at the local, state, and federal level. Paragraph 3.

    http://www.ethanol.org/pdf/contentmgmt/ACE_praises_Presidents_biofuels_directive_5_5_09.pdf
  • Rush Limbaugh
Probably a little late for comments but I'm tired of people talking about Rush's drug addiction. He got hooked because of pain. Obama admitted to cocaine use and marijuana use. On the 60 minute interview I would be willing to bet he had been toking a little weed. The interviewer asked him if he was punch drunk. Probably wanted to ask him what he had been smoking.
  • Wanda
So what? She was making a joke. Get over it.
  • the rapper
"he departed the crime scene on a moped driven by a 16-year-old accomplice."

Now that's a real gangsta there.
  • Sykes
"White House officials want you to know that Wanda Sykes' joke about Rush Limbaugh was not funny."

    Then why did P-BO laugh?

My poor sheep-like brain is confused.
  • Credit card contractual rules...
In my opinion, the only thing that should change regarding credit card companies, is that everyone should have to pass a quiz before they are issued a credit card. The quiz should be on the subject of the cardholder's contract.

Like Fred said below, the card holders agreed with these contracts. The problem is, most of the people having problems paying them and getting into trouble are too stupid to read and understand the contracts.

I'm sure there are some people out there who honestly lost their jobs and are now having problems paying them, but I still consider them partially stupid for running up large balances in a time of volatility.
  • Credit Card Bill
I'm a bit of two minds on it too. But here are some points to consider:

-When you sign up for a card, both you and the company agree to the rules. They can, and do, change them for no reason whatsoever. You can't.
-They are in trouble because they handed out cards to everyone who asked, and some who didn't. This is not the problem of those who do pay their cards.
-The check cards attached to checking accounts don't work for everything, so sometimes holding something or reserving something or even buying something requires a temporary use of the cc for even the most stringent of users.

What is winning me over are those points. I'm a cash and carry kind of girl for the most part. What I don't think is fair, and probably shouldn't be legal, is them changing rates as they like despite the fact that a person has never been late, pays it off promptly and all of that.

Why should they get to change the rules of a contract any and every day, but I can't? Best for them to just not give them away to losers who don't qualify and not make me pay for their mistake.
  • I just hate political humor
from anyone I guess. And it's just my opinion about Wanda. But Rush is not a politician, heck politicians come with a target on their back don't they?

(and no that is not a shooting target...)
  • Anti-Monopoly Law?
It is too much like the start of Atlas Shrugged! Let's let our government control everything and damage all of our freedoms.

Is the next step going to be forcing all employers to stay in business, and forcing all employees to keep their jobs, no matter what?

Hey, where is Galt's Gulch? I want to move there!
  • Rapper
The arresting officer was named Rappa.
    Aspiring rapper arrested by Rappa
  • Credit Cards....
The jury is still out for me, too. While some of the practices of these company *border* on criminal, the credit card holders agreed to the contract.

On the other hand, the policies have been so over-the-top... libertarian in me says people should just wise up and stop using credit cards.

It'd be nice to pay for everything with cash, but at least financing vehicles and homes don't often have these ridiculous policies that the credit card companies take.
  • Wanda Sykes
Ah come on guys Wanda made fun of everyone, you sound just like the people you claim to despise. It's OK to make fun of Hildabeast or Slobbering Bawney, or Queen Nancy but not Rush? I am a Rush fan but i thought it was funny....because it was.
  • Joyce M/Blythe
i sure would, if he kept his alcoholic hidden and railed against alcoholics on the air. that's called a hypocrite and they're fair game for me.

and if i'm being a hypocrite them i'm fair game for others
  • Dumb Rapper
Well, Neal, unfortunately he got his "street cred" just for trying. 'Course he has to get over the name and moped escape car deal, too.
  • Pelosi
As a critic of torture policies, I have to say that Pelosi needs to step down as Speaker of the House. If the Dems are really not partisan about this, that's a necessary step.
  • swine flu
    the government view 1976

    ron paul's view

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvCVLkBKq1I
  • Ummm Tshirt?
Would you make fun of a recovering alcoholic?

The problem I have with Wanda's joke is that the tradition of the Press Dinner is to roast the President, NOT his detractors.
  • An Invitation
    To: Wanda Sykes
    What:Swine Flu party
    Where:The one nearest you
    When:As soon as possible
    BYOBB:Bring Your Own Barf Bag
  • wanda sykes
joke was FUNNY! its good to see highbrow folks getting made fun of. he is a junkie, don't forget that. it don't matter to me if he's got money, he bad mouthed other junkies who didn't have money. f@@k him
  • Justice Department to "aggressively" investigate big firms that improperly dominate markets.
It sounds like we need some "anti-dog-eat-dog" legislation. Who is John Galt?
  • cap & trade
its a way to get rich. and it goes against the earth

    http://blip.tv/file/1004193/
  • Like Enron, but for Carbon
The simplest way to explain cap and trade is to say it's like what Enron did but for carbon.
  • Torture
These fools don't seem to know what torture is. Why don't they ask some of the soldiers captured by the Taliban or others in Iraq and Afghanistan what torture really is. Bet they would take waterboarding any day. Most likely they wouldn't be able to answer as it is hard to talk without a head.
  • Too late John McCain
It's a little too late john to be complaining about how TARP money is being spent. If you would have voted against this horrible welfare bill back in the fall and rallied the American taxpayer around its defeat, things might have been a little different for you right now. No, you carried the water along with Obama for the Wall Street welfare queens and look where we are today. Thanks, John!
