PRINCESS NANCY'S ADVICE TO REPUBLICANS

Nancy Pelosi is offering a little bit of advice for Republicans. Considering Arlen Specter is now batting for the other team, Nancy says that Republicans should "take back" their party ... and by that, she means that they should become more like Democrats.

Here's Nancy's sound advice, "I say to Republicans in America, take back your party ... The party of protecting the environment, the party of individual rights, the party of fairness."

So is that what a Republican is supposed to be to Nancy Pelosi? Boy does this explain a lot about why these buffoons can't get anything done in Washington. How about the party of smaller government? The party of lower taxes? The party of self sufficiency?

Pelosi is so tiresome.

What others are saying

  • Oh, and by the way...
Democrats are only in power by default, not because they have anything tangible or valid to bring to the table. It's like listening to 'Air Supply' on the elevator. They prove it every time they open their mouthes. And if you voted for a Democrat just to 'send a message' to the RNC, you are also a big part of the problem. When anyone talks about 'taking back' a party, the RNC didn't fall off the face of the Earth. Rush Limbaugh represents a segement of the Party, kind of like Nancy Pelosi represents a segment of hers. And the Democrats are going to demonstrate to the whole country that the 'Change' and 'Hope' were clever marketing and catchy slogans, not a substitute for leadership. Nobody will have to work very hard in the RNC, it will come to them. The Left will eff it up like they always do. The only question will be what the Republicans do when they get control again. If they screw it up again, the third party concept will give Washington what it really needs...an enema!
  • re: Mike
Spoken like a true union man, Mikey. Yeah, pay your employees as little as you can so the Democrats have plenty of new recruits...uh...well...not everyone who works for a company can be a highly paid employee, Mike. Someone has to start at the lower end but if they actually have marketable skills, they will move up. It's called a 'merit' increase. If you pay everyone $25.00 an hour, you get...General Motors! If you are worth more, your employer will figure it out and compensate you accordingly. If you're not, you stay somewhere in the lower end of the payscale because you deserve a lower wage or salary. Or you just keep doing the same mediocre work for average pay and whine about those evil employers and how they don't pay a man enough to live on. By the way, you mind moving your old Chevy so I don't have to park my Ski boat across two spaces? And Nancy Pelosi, when we need advice, we'll bypass the botox injections and listen to someone who actually knows what they are talking about. I'm not sure you know what planet you're on.
  • @Mike
    Greed:
"excessive or rapacious desire, especially for wealth or possessions."

So you are saying the desire to build and maintain wealth is what caused our current problems...? Yea... that makes sense.
  • Nancy Pelosi
    God, I hate that b*tch!
  • ITA Jack
That is what I am waiting for....our so called Republican leaders in Congress to step up and start calling out "BS" on the happenings in Washington....I suggest starting with anyone who claims "I didn't know......, or I was unaware"......
  • Yuck
That effing woman is just vile...I'm trying to think of SOMEBODY in the Obama Administration Whose pic doesn't start the nausea wagon. Isn't there a compost heap somewhere in California calling her name?

Drawing a blank at the moment. Excuse me, plz. My breakfast needs to put in a reappearance. Gods, but I despise that broad.
  • My advice to republicans
Until Americans have an understanding of what "greed" is we will keep suffering from the consequences of it.

The more poor people there are the more democrats you are going to get.

If you pay your employees as little as you can, guess what you are going to get?
I don't have the answer but I see greed as a huge component of our problem. If you can't admit that then there is no use arguing about it.
  • More Smoke and Mirrors
The more they can get us to argue over things that don't matter, the more they can push their agenda's through. The first thing Republican's need to do is stop listening to pelousy and start paying attention their constituents. Looking inward is not the answer!
  • Princess Nancy
Listening to Pelosi makes me tired all over.
  • Peloski
It was when the Republicans became more like Democrats that they lost so I guess in a way she is right. The Republicans need to return to their roots.
  • re:stan gable
get off your frickin soap box and out of the thin air long enough for the oxygen to get back to your brain and you would realize that government grew under every president, no matter what party, since George Washington. The country got bigger, had more responsability to a bigger population at home and abroad. Government has NEVER got smaller and spending has increased just as the country's economy has.The only difference is in what the money is spent on. For you to bitch that conservatives(true GOPs) are focused too much on "moral" issues is useless because the left has it own "moral" issues it focuses on just as rabidly.Morality is the core of every party, left, right, christian, atheistic, agnostic, whatever. If your "morals",no matter what they are, don't influence you then just do humanity a favor, dig yourself a 3X4X6 ft hole, stand in it and beat your self with a stick until your worm food because a person who has NO morals(good or bad) is useless, good only for fertilizer.(I know YOU have morals cause if you didn't you wouldn't care enough to post here)
  • YEAH STAN GABLE
It's about time someone said the truth around here. At least the Democrats are all about grouping America together into classes and pitting them against each other so they can hash out their differences!! The Republicans are too interested in individualism and not about acknowledging how the masses are more important than a person's individual achievements.
  • Nancy....
"I say to Republicans in America, take back your party ... The party of protecting the environment, the party of individual rights, the party of fairness."

...As opposed to the Democrats who care nothing for individual rights or actual "fairness."
  • Take Back The Party?
The Republican party is the Democratic party, just look at all the spending they did under Bush. Maybe the Democrats should take back thier party back from the Socialist party. God Save Our Country!
  • Republicans need to become more vocal.
This was one big problem with Bush, and continues to be a problem with the Republicans. They cannot come out and call a spade a spade. Why can't they speak up about issues and atrocities that the Democrats, (and Pelosi) commit. Why can't they be vocal about uncontrollable spending, Obama's huge budgets, growing size of government, the bank bailouts, Obama befriending our enemies (eg. Chavez), Pelosi's lavish use of our taxpayer dollars on personal trips and perks, etc. Why can't they speak out against defecting senators? Why do we need AM radio talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh to effectively be the voice of the Republican party? Why can't they be their own voice, take a stand and state "Enough is Enough"?
  • Morals are universal
"Stop pretending that morals are universal"

You mean admit things like "thou shall not murder" are not universal? Sorry, but moral relativism is a killing idea.

We need to decide what our values and principles are, and stop compromising.
  • Stan
Stan, I'm sure you've heard of the term RINO, correct? This would apply to President Bush.
  • what the GOP needs...
    Here's what I said in the other article;

    The Republican party can win, but the failed leftist neo-con foreign policy of nation building, and policing the planet to the tune of bankruptcy has to go. America is not Rome. Here what the Republicans need;

-Embrace the constitution and states rights.
-Eliminate about 70% of all government programs.
-Pull troops out from the middle east where their presence is aiding terrorist recruitment,
    -Embrace the fair tax uncompromisingly
-Secure the border encourage illegals to go home
-Stop pretending that morals are universal
    -End America's drug war addiction
    -Audit the Federal Reserve
Embrace freedom of choice in education
-Admit that George W. Bush and Amnesty Mccain were a disaster for traditional conservatism.

If the GOP doesn't do the majority of these things, Obama and his henchmen will remain in power. The number of conservatives not will to vote for Mccain/Cheney/Bush types is growing. The neo-con big govt mystics in the GOP must be exiled in order for the party to regain its appeal.
  • I can't stand Skeletor Pelosi, but on this one, she's got a point
The Republican party used to be a party of fiscal conservatives who looked out for personal freedoms, and were the next best thing to a libertarian philosophy. In the last 1-2 decades, they've slowly morphed into the Evangelical Republican party, a party that has a primary goal of making America a godly country (according to their flavor of god, and no one else's). Pelosi is right on this one... if fiscal conservatives take back the Republican party from the evangelical holier-than-thou's, they'll have a chance to bring real benefit to America, and I actually think that they would be more respected/received by the Dems if they dropped the civil/moral issues like abortion and gay marriage and this silly drug war, and actually advocated a thrifty fiscal philosophy. Until then, they're just a speed bump in the Democrat's path.
  • Nancy, Nancy, Nancy.....
Yeah the first thing I am going to do is take advice from Nancy Pelosi,....what is she thinking (or not thinking....as becoming the characterisitic of the democratic Party)
  • Take it back
from the Politicians currently in Washington! Find true conservatives, that would be taking the party back. Sanctimonious b****, Californians please do not re-elect that person.
  • Pelosi gets one little part right
"...the party of individual rights..." That part she got right. Is she admitting that her own party is against individual rights?
  • They already have!!
That is the problem. Republicans have become Democrats and Democrats have become socialists. I'm with you, Neal...smaller government, lower taxes and self-sufficiency. These are the values missing in Washington these days.
  • Pelosi?
Take it back???...from whom?...people like me?...I've been a GOP activist since high school when I campaigned locally for Barry Goldwater in a Tennessee county that had voted yellow dog Democrat sinc the War for Southern Independence...I've been a precinct chairman,a delegate to the national convention,a campaign manager,a fund raiser and even a Congressional nominee in a district that I knew I had no chance of winning....am I the people that 'Republicans' should take back the party from?...or am I someone who should take back the party from these mysterious nameless hijackers?...Ms Pelosi's cheese has slid clean off her cracker if she thinks anybody who is even remotely a Republican is going to take HER advice
  • When does the republican party care about that?
Last I saw, when Bush was in office the taxes were higher, the government got bigger, and the government spent more. It seems like the republicans are all more focused on abortions, gay marriage, stem cell, and Terry Schiavo(all forms of government intrustion)
