... that Democrats are working for legislation that would automatically register to vote anyone who obtains a driver's license or who qualifies for welfare benefits? There is no move to automatically register anyone who actually obtains a job, becomes successful and pays taxes.

... that three-quarters of the budget "cuts" that Obama identified in his new budget come from defense spending, not discretionary domestic spending?

... that one species of bat has a tongue that is 150% longer than its body? It cannot, however, breathe through the top of its head ... so what's the point?

... that the people who make Hotwheels and Matchbox cars made more money last year than the people who make Fords, Chryslers and Chevys?

... that there are strong rumors that Nancy Pelosi is conjuring up a plan to place a tax against all outstanding pension and 401K plans? I know the Clinton administration was looking at this ... but thus far no solid evidence that Pelosi is on the same track.

... that you use about 50 pounds of toilet paper a year? We are 7 percent of the world's population, yet we use half of the toilet paper. Even more since January 20th.

... that the feds are cranking up some new mortgage programs designed to get low-income people into the wonderful world of home ownership? In other words, plans to make sure people who can't afford to buy a home can buy a home. This is what got us in trouble in the first place.

... that the Republican party has absolutely nothing going for itself right now! OK. So you knew that one.

What others are saying

  • AZD2's bat question
If YOU had a remarkably long tongue, your wife would be happy if you could breathe through the top of your head... (wicked, Neal, just plain WICKED!)
  • @DaleC
That 5% definitely does NOT have too much influence with the government. Quite the opposite. Know why? Because the 50% they pay isn't by choice -- it's by command. It's not like the government won't get the money if they don't do favors for the 5%. It's taken by force!

Politicians don't need the votes of that 5% to get elected -- they can suck up to the nearly 50% who pay nothing at all. That's why it's unfair.

  • Haha
Is Copy Left Still torturing people on here? Hilarious.

By the way, on the Republican note. You said it has nothing for it. Are you kidding me, Mr. Boortz? The mess in Washington right now is the best argument for the Republican party ever.
"Hey, see what happens when you let them in? Vote Republican so that you don't make that mistake again."

Just have to think about it with a capitalist spirit, Mr. Boortz.
  • Got no problem being the world's leader in using toilet paper.... it's far better than being the people in LAST place for that poll...
  • Smaller cars are easier to move off the lot than larger cars.
  • The REAL DaleC
ONly a total jerk posts as an imposter under another persons name.

The "Hmmmmm" post at 3:49 is not me.

Imitating another person is pathetic you jackass.

Question, if those top 5% of wage earning taxpayers have such inordinate influence over the government, why are they paying so much in Federal income taxes and almost half of wage warners paying nothing?

    Nice logic.
  • "Smarty if people with zero of positive by $2 (ya'll giving me a headache with that one) get to be the majority... well we will be in for a world of hurt."

That seems to be where we are headed according to Republicans.

"The pay tax get to vote would still not get money from the underground revenue, so no tax or FairTax."

    You lost me there...come again.

Those that would evade paying tax under the Fair Tax are doing now as well and we don't have resources to catch them all. Some evade paying taxes unintentionally because they are confused by our current code.
  • Boy I'm good
Posting stuff I didn't even know about!!! LOL@ButtNekid

Smarty if people with zero of positive by $2 (ya'll giving me a headache with that one) get to be the majority... well we will be in for a world of hurt.

The pay tax get to vote would still not get money from the underground revenue, so no tax or FairTax.

    That better?
  • Sorry, FairTax is NOT the solution...
It's HR1207 that is the solution, because it will spawn the beginning process of abolishing The Federal Reserve System and eliminate the need for income and payroll taxes. Therefore, no need to replace the current tax system with any other tax. We get to keep 100% of our paychecks and not worry about a sales tax.
  • Why should you get to vote and control part of my life?
Because our tax system is flawed and it is not the fault of the people that are given a refund or tax credit for their vote.

Don't penalize the people because politicians are gaming the tax system, change the tax system.

If a military family has a zero of positive net federal tax or receives food stamps, should they not vote?

If someone's net federal tax is $2, they get to vote but the person whose is zero of positive by $2 can't?

Don't blame the people for a corrupt tax system engineered by politicians to game it for power with bribes.

I understand your frustration, but creating a caste of second class citizens will lead to revolution by bloodshed once they become the majority.

    Fair Tax is the solution.
  • @Patriot til' Death @ 05/11/09 12:29:00 PM
Patriot, I agree with everything you just said, EXCEPT: Incumbents CAN be voted against in a primary. Maybe it never happens in Presidential elections, but in all other cases it can.
For example: WHY did Arlen Specter just bolt to the Democrat Party? Because he was faced with a losing battle in his own Republican Primary next year
  • Please explain...
I could be wrong but my understanding is that any politician holding office whether in the House or Senate is automatically their party's choice for the next election unless they decide not to run. No primary election is held for the incumbent's party. So...let's say you have a Republican that won't support the Fair Tax, next election, he is the automatic choice for the Republican ticket although 6 other Republicans that support the Fair Tax would like to be but have to wait until he is voted out before they can run for office.

If that is the case, then I have to choose between a incumbent Republican that does not support the Fair Tax or a Democrat that doesn't support the Fair Tax. So I have to vote for the Democrat and wait 2 years before I have a chance of voting for a Republican that does in a Republican primary election?

If that is the case, most people are NOT going to vote for the opposing party in order to wait 2 years to vote for a more palatable candidate of their own party. That is why we are stuck with career politicians. That is why we need term-limits or change the party rules for incumbents.

Do you see what I'm saying? If that is the case, we need to the party rules so that every incumbent has to win their primary before they can run for the House or Senate against the opposing party. At least change the party rules for the Republican party.

Is my understanding of how the process works correct?
  • "Smarty" and taxes
"Someone explain to me how the top 5% percent pays 50% of federal taxes but corporations don't pay tax they just collect it and pass it along to the federal government. It seems contradictory"

This exact quote was previously posted by Copyleft, which I am sure was a coincidence.

Explanation; The top 5% of taxpayers referenced are individual wage earners, not corporations.
  • Not only...
should Voter registration be Automatic, when someone pays their taxes - But it should be Unavailable to anyone else! How many businesses have board of directors that are ruled by people who own no stock/have nothing invested in that business?
  • @smarty
If they get a refund or tax credit and their net federal tax is zero of positive then they dont get to vote. They havent earned that vote. Why should you get to vote and control part of my life? I will still let you drive on the roads I pay for or go to the schools they build with my money and even be protected by the armed services I provide you.
  • Hot Wheels
Of course the did, they actually make a product that people want w/o all the interference from unions
  • Register to vote
Wonder if I would be allowed to decline the voter registration at the DMV considering I am not a citizen (just a legal resident)?
  • Did you know...
The hussein administration is waging asymmetrical warfare on the DoD. DoD, accounts for less than 25% of discretionary spending, yet accounts for 75% of hussein's discretionary spending cuts.

The dp will eventually tell Matchbox how to run their company and what kind of toy cars to make so they are bankrupt too.

There is no way the dp will leave a pool of wealth as big as 401Ks alone for long. They also want to make sure those 401Ks give no one financial independence. I would also watch for the dp to start dictating where part (all doesn't even sound out of the question these days) of these funds are invested, to finance leftist organizations, contributors, and causes.

Living where people use more tp than anybody else is a good thing. I bet Americans bathe/shower, brush our teeth, and use deodorant more often than most of the world as well. It takes advanced rectal-cranial inversion syndrome to expect us to be anything but proud of such things, if true. The fools try to turn us into a 3rd world country and call it progress.

The GOP is so down the dp/msm will have a hard time blaming the GOP for the mess they are making (not that they won’t), if you can call that something going “for” them. The dp is blowing hundreds of billions of federal tax revenue on their political infrastructure, to expand their constituencies, their election/census fraud machine, and further stack the deck against any political competition. GOP contributions can’t get in the ballpark of matching that, even before the dp tax increases on the productive rob them of their ability to contribute.

Their expanded judicial bench will see that it stays that way or gets worse, and hussein will likely pass the Presidency to a picked underling in 8 years, like putin, rather than keep going as presidente for life, like his buddies castro and chavez.
  • Patriot!
I tend to say conservatives instead of republicans cause there are not more than a handful of Republican politicians who deserve to be included in a rebuilt party. I put them in the same group as the Dems who are clueless. They have a few that might make the cut since they have voted for HR1207.

So when I'm bashing anyone it's usually all of them!!! Don't ya think most of everyone in Washington sucks!

I think there will be plenty of people running against incumbents and not all of us vote along party lines. Fewer now than before.

PLEASE I hope California does not reelect Pelosi!!!!!! Is there any hope?

Maybe like Red Leader said, let's all send Neal a copy of Ron Paul's book, that would be great!
  • PATRIOT 'TIL DEATH's comment
patriot i don't usually respond to comments however this will be the exception.

my war chant for years has been DRIP don't return incumbent politicians. I have violated the rule once I voted for RONALD WILSON REAGAN a second time.

voting for the other guy keeps term limits at your finger tips. term limits would work if I could get you and many others to start believing in DRIP.

incumbents in favor of the fairtax can be replaced by others that are in favor of it...

you and I are going in the same direction, just not on the same path.

    DRIP don't return incumbent politicians!
  • Did you know...
that we have a debt now that is completely unservicable? There is literally no way we can dig ourselves out. Did you know that this was planned? Did you know that there is a ruling class of elites that literally decide world policy and are above our President and our Congress? Did you know that those ruling elites control their interests through the United States military industrial complex. They achieve their goals by using the strong arm of our military. Did you know that our country is heading for a complete and total economic disaster? There are alot of things the American public should know about its government that it does not. Isn't it about time we held our government accoutable?
  • Car Makers
... that the people who make Hotwheels and Matchbox cars made more money last year than the people who make Fords, Chryslers and Chevys?

Well Duh! Hotwheels and Matchbox cars are a helluva lot more fuel efficient than Fords, Chryslers, and Chevys!
  • Joyce M/Blythe
HR1207 lead by Ron Paul, the one who was treated like a red-headed step-child by his own party and pundits during the primaries. I will say he is the only TRUE Republican within the whole lot, even a lot of Democrats admire him.

Some, but no way nearly enough, Republicans embrace the Fair Tax which is the poster child bill of Republican principles. The Fair Tax should be the centerpiece of a Republican comeback.

Term-limits supported by Republicans? It's just a carrot on a stick, a promise they have no intention of keeping. Even the unofficial leader of the Republican party, Rush Limbaugh, doesn't support it or the Fair Tax for that matter. (Note to Republican voters, start a campaign to call his show and ask him to explain what part of the Fair Tax is in violation of Republican principles and if not, why are Republicans politicians scared to support it.)

Not reelecting incumbents won't work because there is no primary election for incumbents unless they decide not to run again...so you have to choose between the other party's new candidate or your party's incumbent and everyone will vote for their party.
"Vote out the incumbents" Kool-Aid is only served(again, Rush Limbaugh)when your party is the minority.

Are we to vote out all the incumbents that support the Fair Tax?

We are on the same team Joyce but our energy is better spent fixing our party, than bashing the other. I wish Neal would catch a clue, yeah...he's a Libertarian Republican...that doesn't like Ron Paul based on Ron's ideal of following our Constitution when it comes to foreign policy.

    I'm with you sister.
  • Bat Tongue
LMAO Neal. At least your comment shows that you know what you're doing ;)
  • golf guy waz rite
golfing analyst Feherty was right. given the choice i would have done the same thing. funny stuff but very true!

don't know what i'm talkin' 'bout? pelosi/reid/binladin were the butts of his joke. found it on drudge.
  • Smarty
Those contributions from the top 5% are overwhelmed by the millions coming from the UAW, left newspapers looking for a bailout, and rich wackos like George Soros.
  • Patriot
I believe Conservatives have been coming up with solution! HR1207, some are supporting the FairTax, term limits and how many times have we called for not reelecting incumbents?

There are other instances, but you can look for those.
  • @Marty
"Lets try this. If you dont pay federal taxes, you dont get to vote in the federal election. Pay to play."

Does that include the federal tax on gasoline and other federal taxes hidden within the price of goods and service passed along to the American consumer? Those federal taxes are paid by everyone that votes and many that aren't eligible to vote.

Someone explain to me how the top 5% percent pays 50% of federal taxes but corporations don't pay tax they just collect it and pass it along to the federal government. It seems contradictory.

Also, does the federal government give any special favors to the top 5% in exchange for all the taxes they pay not to mention the additional campaign contributions they make to the politicians who can give special favors (tax breaks/corporate welfare, legislation that eliminates or restricts competition of the contributor), government contracts, etc.?
  • Bat tongue
If a tongue is 150% the length of the owners body why on earth would he need to breath through the top of his head?
  • Did you know....
most people that vote Republican whine, bitch, moan and groan about how Obama is running the country in the ground without offering any alternative solutions or holding their own party accountable for their broken promises such as growing government larger than the previous Democrat administration, not fulfilling their Contract with America for term-limits or abolishing the Department of Education, ignoring their party's principles by snubbing the Fair Tax...and I could go on and on.

Did you also know....the Republican party strategy is to hope Obama's failure to turn our economy around will be so bad that people will vote for the only other party.

Hey Republicans politicians, pundits and voters...if you have better solutions, let's hear them instead of all your bitching and tell us why we should believe you this time. Also, making abortion illegal or adding an amendment to prevent gay marriage won't mean anything to people who are unemployed and can't feed their children so please spare us with your hypocritical social values BS.

Before you accuse anyone, take a good look at yourselves...
  • Pelosi taxing 401k
Is this the same rumor reported in SNOPES?

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/pelosi/windfall.asp
  • Federal Taxes
Lets try this. If you dont pay federal taxes, you dont get to vote in the federal election. Pay to play.
  • Toilet Paper
Sounds like you never worked anywhere but in the US.
After living in several different countries I found most of the people living there did not use toilet paper. There was a device like a bidet has that squirted water onto the appropriate orifice and you used your fingers as the cold water was gushing out. Heard that most of the people who use this had very few cases of hemorrhoids.
  • Ya
"... that Democrats are working for legislation that would automatically register to vote anyone who obtains a driver's license or who qualifies for welfare benefits? There is no move to automatically register anyone who actually obtains a job, becomes successful and pays taxes."

Because people with jobs don't get driver's licenses, amirite?
  • Voting and taxes.
The fairest voting system would be such that for every $1000 you pay in federal income taxes (as shown on the tax return you file), you get one vote. If you pay no income taxes you get zero votes. If you pay a lot in federal taxes, you get a louder voice. This would be the fairest way of deciding who is elected.
  • Welfare and voter registration
In keeping with Alexander Tyler, anyone
on government subsistence shouldn't be allowed to vote.
  • Matchbox
You also get better mileage out of Matchboxes and Hot Wheels. I still have a whole boxful buried in my closet. Maybe I should look online, some of them may actually be worth more than a Ford, Chrysler, or Chevy.
  • Voter registration on a 1040 form
They need to add a line for voter registration on the 1040 form.
  • homes for votes
Neal, your comments "... that the feds are cranking up some new mortgage programs designed to get low-income people into the wonderful world of home ownership..."

is the first I've seen of any mention of any plan to continue that ridiculous policy. Worse, I believe the intent of the 2010 census in 'counting every illegal' in the country serves a more nefarious purpose: To identify those whom they would like to settle down 'over here/over there' with a nice, new home.
I believe this administration is gearing up for the biggest amnesty in history and simultaneously prepared to make them all Democrats.

We shall see...the multi-departmental policies are being laid down bit-by-bit.
  • Voter Registration
Not every person who qualifies for a driver license can legally vote. In my work, we are seeing many foreign nationals who are legal, but who get in serious trouble because the feds find out they registered to vote. It's always because some uniformed DMV agent told them they could do it.
  • Toilet Paper
That's because those of us with a brain are spending a lot of time crapping our pants. Every time Obama puts another nail in capitalism's coffin I feel like I need to run for the bathroom.
  • Jealous of the Bat
Neal, your comment about it not being able to breathe through the top of his head was priceless. I am still laughing.
  • Big Brother
You can get registered at the meth clinic too....
