What others are saying

  • Dammit....
...I really wanted to go to this. Was trying to budget the cash. The speech, as well as the book (which I got as a graduation present in 1999) sold me on Neal, as well as Libertarianism.
  • Face to face with Smackface!
    Smacktalk,
You wouldn't mind saying that to my face would you?
    Matt @ 4:26 May 18
Neal is the perfect example of a person armed only with a public school education!
  • Maureen must be a name synonymous with the word "bitch." Never met/seen a pleasant Maureen. Dowd, for example.
  • Maureen
But which statement is the lie! And again I ask, who cares?

I think the Pelosi analogy was the on and on and on .....
  • Big Deals!
    Denise,
He graduated from a un-accredited diploma mill in the late'70's,that's a fact. If you can't handle that, you won't be able to handle this gem straight from Neal in a interview to the Atlanta Jewish Times in May of 2002,
"Don't accept anything as true that you hear on this show. I will flat out lie to you if it serves the entertainment value of this show..."
On the final page of this interview in his bio he claimed that he had graduated from Texas A&M in'67!
What does Nancy Pelosi have to do with Neal and a diploma mill?
  • Libertarian 101
Funny how folks argue about if & where Neal got his education. Anyone who has listened to Neal for more the 30 seconds knows that he is intelligent, well-spoken, and was educated somehow. So who gives a baker's f__k if he has a degree or license from anywhere? The free market should decide if he is qualified to talk on the radio or even practice law (or medicine for that matter). When will the government-educated dumb-masses learn what true liberty means?
  • Maureen
Maureen, what is your deal? You sound like Nancy Pelosi!!! Read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Marshall_Law_School_(Atlanta)I would be proud to have a degree from there you big snob!
  • this stinks
I've been dreaming of seeing Neal deliver this puppy for years. But he has to do so in Georgia? Darn it, Neal---launch a national tour!
  • Here is a commencement speech
Now This is a commencement speech

  • KSU, Vicente Fox & Neal
Read that Mexico's ex-pres Fox spoke at a Kennesaw State University event on Tuesday. Neal, I hope you don't have to rush home from your commencement speech and take a scalding, anti-bacterial shower.....

  • Lawyer in SC
    Lawyer in Sc,
I guess you missed the part where I mentioned that the law school Neal attended wasn't even accredited by the ABA until recently,if they have been accredited by the ABA.
On your last point, Neal bragged for years that he had in fact graduated from Texas A&M in 1967! Went as far to have it written up in his online bio's etc. Now all it says "finished up at," What does that mean?
  • I saw Neal once
I saw Boortz once. He was speaking to me as an accounting 101 student at the time. It was the best extra credit that I had for accountability....

I wish Boortz had a podcast. The ham sandwich doesn't work for me at work. FM isn't available in my area. AM means I need to be in a car or have a big radio without headphone jacks. Broadband is now a utility and costs the people that pay me a lot to stream.
  • Maureen is an Idiot
All law licenses are state specific. There is no multistate law license. I would guess that upwards of 90% of the lawyers out there are only licensed to practice in the state of their residence. If Neal is licensed in Georgia, that means that he took and passed the Georgia bar exam. There is nothing (other than good sense) that prohibits him from taking the bar exam in other jurisdictions. By the way, Bill Gates is a college dropout, so what's your point?
  • John Marshall
Sounds good to me! I guess I'm lost as to what is the point you are trying to make with this, did I miss where he said he had graduated? Is it just because he is doing a commencement address? Even if he doesn't have a degree that does not mean that what he has to say in this address is not good. Have you read it? It's great!
  • Law License
Neal has a law license to practice law only in Ga. He went to a unaccredited (at his time of graduation) law school at night, after leaving college in 1967, with no degree.
I believe that the school The John Marshall School of Law of Atlanta, has recently been accredited by the ABA. When Neal went there in the the late '70's, it wasn't accredited by the ABA or by any law or legal association>
  • dropout?
Why do we keep getting these people who accuse Neal of being a dropout? I'm sure they've heard him say he's a lawyer, where is your proof?
  • commencement speech
I also work at KSU and received the e-mail from events. I had a e-mail dialogue with the "professor" that replied to it. He does work here, but he is in a higher position than a mere professor. Needless to say, he told me to mind my own business and not to listen to a work Neal Boortz had to say. Stay home with my nose stuck in the corner? I don't think so. Already got my ticket. See ya there, Neal.
  • Great read but...
Your commencement speech was a good read, but please get that picture with you wearing a motarboard off the page. You look like an evil Yahtzee guy. :-)
  • KSU professors response to the speech
I work at KSU and they sent out this email informing us that hes coming. They do this for EVERY event.

Campus members, we are pleased to announce the follow event:

Neal Boortz has had a commencement speech at the ready for years...and no
school has invited him to deliver it. So we're just going to set up and let
Neal deliver his commencement speech May 20th at Kennesaw State University.
Your kids NEED to hear this one! The $10 ticket price will benefit the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. Go to www.wsbradio.com for tickets and information.

A professor came back with this reply all.

    Events:
Who asked him to come? My kids don't NEED Neal and are smart enough to not
listen to his rants about the 'fair tax' and other nonsense. Ask yourself
what would happen to our teetering mortgage and real estate marker if this
were ever put into practice. Did you ever think there might be a reason
    nobody invited him?

These people are educating our children...
  • Record It
Neal...record it and make it available on your website. It is one thing to read your words but another to hear it live!
  • Commencement Speech
Hey you guys/dolls who think Neal's only got a HS diploma: He's an attorney! He has a JD!

    Get used to it!
  • neals picture
That pic of neal with the motarboard is a laugh. I may use it as my avatar.
  • Yes you can
My friend Marsha Enright is founding a college in Chicago that you should be the giver of the first commencement speech here she is talking about it. Get on board! http://www.rifinst.org/
  • Commencement Speech
I wonder what the audience will think when they find out that Neal dropped out, flunked out or just quit college?
  • KSU Commencement Address
Neal...it will be great to have you at KSU! The announcement went out to KSU faculty, staff and students about you giving your commencement speech, and a few disgruntled left-wingers had to have their say. I for one are thrilled and can't wait to hear you speak.
  • Fourth of July
Neal I am from Gretna Louisiana right across the river from New Orleans (the city that you made mad and they took you off the air just because you tell the truth) and I work all over town doing Air conditioning & refrigeration so as I am doing my job people talk about things they hear on the radio and see on T/V and they are scared and are becoming angry at the way thing are being done in there name by this government so I am calling for a strike for the week before and the week after the Fourth of July everybody that pays taxes close all businesses and send all employees home to show the people in Washington how much power they don't have. SO WE THE PEOPLE have had enough of the fooling around enough of politics. Taking from the evil rich and given it to the so called poor. I believe that the dumb masses will finally get the massage that it is not the goverment that lets them work it is the evil rich who let them have a job some really good jobs that pay more than minimal wage. So We the people call for all businesses to stop for two weeks. The goverment might come around before its to late 2 weeks of no tax revenues for State, Local and Federal it will drive them nuts it will drive home the message that our fore'father proclaimed in Boston all those years ago NO TAXATION WITH OUT PROPER REPRESENTATION. This is the only thing they understand POWER TO THE PEOPLE please come and join the Revolution. I put my John Hancock on this post will you stand with me and add your name. WE the people in order to form a more perfect union call for a new deal one that is fair to everybody reduce taxes for all. This country is the best place on this earth to live, to chasse the dream of LIFE LIBERTIVE AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, Not the trust me I will take care of you government that the democrats have try to gives us. Like my dad told me son you have to stand for something are you will fall for anything so take a stand you just might see other people will stand with you. Our government is being lead by a ship of fools so dam the torpedoes full speed ahead what do we have to lose.

    Don Allen Gretna Louisiana
  • Neal's commencement speech
is one of the most forwarded emails I have seen in recent years. I have proven to myself time and time again that people who don't understand and believe EVERY word of the speech are parasites of somekind. In other words, those people would wither and die if it were not for the producers of this world.
  • Commencement Speech
I bought my tickets already. It should be a lot of fun.
    Tony
  • I thought Mr. Boortz was a lawyer? I always figured there was some amount of post-secondary schooling involved with that. It's a serious question, I thought I heard/read somewhere that he was a lawyer before being on the radio. Am I wrong? Wikipedia, here i come...
  • at least one cared to comment
Though I wonder why he would listen.
  • Speech
Doesn't the resounding lack of comments, either from trolls or idolizers on your "never requested from anyone or requested from any college, your commencement speech" doesn't that leave you a little sad!
I've never understood why anyone would want to listen to, or have to pay to hear from a aging, balding high school graduate only, give a speech that was geared towards life after graduation day from college!
I have a question for you about a comment you made in Aug of '05 at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, where you were roughly quoted as saying that,"you only were 6 hours short of a undergraduate degree!"
How come in those 42+/- years haven't you taken the one 6 hour course that would make a real college graduate, unlike your propentsity to lie to the world that (until you were caught) you graduated from Texas A&M in '67?
