CLOSING LOOPHOLES

As expected, the Obama administration revealed more changes to the tax code yesterday. Remember that it had to find ways to come up with more tax revenue because it miscalculated how expensive it is going to be for the government to bring healthcare to the people! One of the many ways the government plans to get more of your money is by closing tax loopholes for all those evil rich people ....

A senior administration official says, The proposals "take on what we believe are a series of unjustifiable loopholes, unjustifiable tax breaks that we simply cannot afford."

That who cannot afford? The imperial federal government? Is it entitled to this money that is earned by you, the taxpayers? What they are really saying is that this money belongs to us .. and we just can't afford to let the people who earned it keep it. We'll let them keep just enough to keep them working. Are you starting to "get it" folks?

What others are saying

  • Copyleft, if you got your wish, and there were no corporations...
idiots like you would not have computers or cell phones with which to disseminate your drivel... which you would also not be able to sycophantically absorb from the also non-existent mass media... also no means of creating the large sums of wealth that you so enthusiastically wish to confiscate.

My hat is off to you, Rockhound. Right On!
  • Loopholes
Does anyone realize the fact that loopholes are LEGAL? And...the only people who are going to be hurt by Barack Mussolini closing those holes are THE CONSUMERS?

It amazes me, how easily people are just goaded into wealth envy/corporate hatred, and yet how easy it is for them to never realize how good THEY have it because of the very corporations they claim to hate. So, go ahead Karl Obama, keep winning the minds of the simpletons while bringing us all up (or down) to the same mediocrity. This man is a fanatic Marxist and he's in the White House, people. I'm talking serious sh*t.

Strange...I don't see a hell of a lot of Obama supporters talking so loudly lately.
  • Only in CopyLeft's World
"equality under the law" as he writes....is SOCIALIST doublespeak for income re-distribution. In other words, confiscation of assets from the productive class given to members of the non-productive class (like him). That's the change he believes in, you can count on that..

I wonder what CopyLeft and all his miserable friends will do, when the current crop of democrat thugs are voted out of office and/or they run out of other people's money to spend?
  • Loopholes are not good
Actually, Copyleft, Neal doesn't want loopholes, or a government that is corruptable and can write special favors into tax legislation. You don't seem to like them either, and they will NEVER be eliminated from the tax code. So why not support the Fair Tax?

The Fair Tax would eliminate ALL of that nonsense. And right now we have the WORST government money can buy....

Think about it just a little more....you might actually start to get it after all.
  • GOP suckered again.
The dp agrees to breaks, to get the GOP to go along with and mitigate the harmful economic effects of their new or increased taxes. Then they change breaks to loopholes and eliminate them the first chance they get.

Another favorite trick of the dp is to agree to lower taxes, if breaks are eliminated, then jack the taxes back up or let them sunset(Ever hear of them putting a sunset clause in a tax increase?).

The GOP mistakes the dp for people that negotiate in good faith over and over and over...

I feel ya. One of my favorite exercises is to tell give a liberal a hypothetical scenario. The scenario is this: We all know leftists hate corporations(at least American run corporations). So, I pick up my magic wand and presto, there are now now more corporations. Now what? You got your wish. Walmart is gone. McDonalds is gone. ATT, Sprint, Verizon, Comcast, CBS, ABC, Coke-a-Cola, Pepsi, all gone. Now what? Can't rely on small businesses anymore because there would be no goods to sell. No more gas in your car because there isn't anyone to pump, refine, deliver, and sell your gas. With no corporations there are no goods to manufacture. You won't even be able to buy toilet paper. I've never gotten an intelligent answer.
  • why do the leftists, ie. copyleft, that hate america remain
I put in a post last week here asking why do leftists that hate the principles on which America was founded, limited Constitutional government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility, stay here in America when there are several Socialist nanny-states that think and act like these nanny-state loving leftists.

Someone pointed out quite clearly and succinctly. These leftists are parasites off of the producers, and like a parasite, they can not live without their host.

Furthermore, when I looked more in depth with leftist thought, it appears to be based in envy.
They (leftists in power and in general) want to take from the evil corporations which produce products and or services for profit and give the booty to the parasites who voted the leftists in power.

I could solve the country's economic woes tomorrow. First get the Federal government operating back within its expressly written Constitutional limits....(no elastic, activist judge style interpretations here). Once that is done, repeal the income tax and go with a fair or flat tax where the percentage is the same for all taxpayers and each taxpayer has the same deduction for basic necessities.

When the leftist, (call them progressives if you like) started getting the US to operate outside of the Constitutional limits, this boondoggle started to happen. Meanwhile, it has snowballed dramatically.
Maybe some individual states should secede from the US. It has happened before because of overtaxation and overregulation. If enough did it, then the Washington inside the beltway crowd would not be so arrogant.
  • Loopholes are Necessary
Interesting to see Neal backing the idea of having MORE loopholes and special favors written into our legislation. What happened to the free market and equality under the law, Neal?

After all, we can't do enough for our special-interest lobbyists, can we? They need and deserve "customized" legislation. And no, it ISN'T corruption! Not one bit!

Clearly we should have the best government money can buy, right? (snicker)
