WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE MEDIA

Tomorrow there will be dozens of protests around the country. Thousands of people. These are people who have had it with our current level of spending, wasteful uses of our tax dollars and big government policies that have strayed from the basic foundations of this country. These are people who are supporting real change, like the FairTax. I'll be in Columbia, SC tomorrow night with thousands of people who are supporting an idea of how we can go about getting our country back into the hands of the people.

It is going to be a historic day. But I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that you won't see much coverage in the lamestream media. Well ... maybe on Fox News, talk radio and perhaps some local rags ... there won't be much in the way of network coverage. The liberal media considers these protestors to be nothing less than selfish conservatives who simply don't want to pay their "fair share" of taxes. That's it. There's nothing more to the story for the mainstream media ... so to them there's nothing new worth covering.

  • Re: “Definitions”
For the uninitiated, the Statists primarily use lies, double standards and deceptions to advance their agenda.

In this case, “Definitions” is clearly using the Double standard of trashing conservatives for the CORRECT labeling of their belief system, while simultaneously using generalities, name calling and misdirection in it's posting.

They BELIEVE they are Entitled to use these tactics because the consider themselves to be the intellectual elite of the nation.

One only needs to closely examine their moronic use of lies, double standards and deceptions to see how idiotic their agenda really is.

Communists weren't mentioned in that comment, you Dhimicrap trolls need to read posts and UNDERSTAND them before spewing.

Nevertheless these systems all fall under the term: Statism

  • Hey Copyleft
    What the matter? TRUTH HURT?

The majority of the ideas the left has comes from:
    *Communists
    *Socialists, AND
    *Fascists

    Keep swinging peaches, your special!

    AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER!
  • I don't feel very stimulated
My biweekly paycheck went DOWN by $1.93.
  • The Fairtax....great idea that wont ever happen
Look Neal, you dont have to convince me that the fair tax is a great idea. But how do you expect it to ever pass? In order to abolish the income tax you must change the constitution. That means you have to get 2/3 of the congress and 3/4 of the state legislatures. Those numbers just arent going to happen. The northeast and the west coast take care of that.

The current system allows 50% of the people to pay NOTHING right now? Why would any of them take the chance at changing the system? They are on the mooch right now. It doesnt get any 'better' than that, because they get all the goodies and pay nothing....and these aren't people who are worried about getting wealthy someday and having to pay more.

Its a great idea Neal, but its too late.
  • any more
I do believe somebody has gone so far left their wing is about to get caught up in one of those north korean scuds.O ur government is there in place to protect our rights and freedoms not to pander to the poor and hungry.By the people for the people when you take oath to join the military you take oath to serve and protect our country against all enemies both foreign and domestic.Todays domestic enemies have taken up arms and combined efforts to become a whole I refer to them as republicrats.they have pandered long enough it is not about lower taxes or money at all it is about what is fair to all.all being we the people..if the founding fathers were alive today they truely would be libertarians. Neal for prez..2012..
  • Tax Protest on April 15
This protest is being staged by Newt Gingrich and is not a grassroots effort. Instead it is an effort by Republicans with Fox News financial support, to try and generate some point of reorganization for the Republican party.
  • Communist, Socialist and Fascists.
    Copy,

To what post are you referring? I see no mention of Communist, or socialist in this entire discussion. Even if they were--the three have similar attributes and ideologies. They obviously differ from one another, but none of them have any place in a free society.

The reason Dems and Reps cannot agree is because they are based on two different forms of Government.
Republicans want to preserve our republic and basic rule of law. Republicans do/should not care about differences in opinion. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. There is no grey area. However, you are entitled to your opinions and beliefs, so long as those opinions and beliefs do not infringe upon the basic rights of your fellow man.
Democrats want a democratic society that changes as people change. Democrats cannot believe in a basic rule of law because people may change their minds about what is right and wrong. Democrats believe that people are entitled to their opinions and beliefs—in fact, your opinions and beliefs are very important so long as those opinions and beliefs do not conflict with the majority. If your opinions conflict with the majority, you are obsolete and unimportant(and probably racist).
  • RE:Copyleft
With all due respect, the excessive spending you referred to over the last 8 years, Democrats were right there voting on every, I mean every bit of legislation passed through. Most of the time, Chuck Shumer and Harry Reid complained that it was 'not enough'. I though you were at least unbiased enough not to play that card. Why you...you wascally wabbit!
  • A progressive tax system is fair...
If you earn more you have the means to pay more...Didn't Neal's momma ever tell him that life ain't fair?
  • Re: AWK
Yeah AWK, there are some smart people on the left who should know better, but they don't. Being educated means jack in this world if you have no common sense. I know some very smart people who vote Democrat. They can't give me solid reasons, they're just convinced it's right for them. Likewise,I know their counterparts on the right. I'm fine with that. When the same folks start berating me for being conservative, I laugh at them. They hold George Bush up as an example of stupidity. Let's see, Yale, Harvard, Governor of Texas, President of the United States...last time I looked, those things don't happen accidentally. My point, you may be smart, the smartest one in the room. If you can't see past your own brilliance and understand plain old right from wrong, you're not so bright after all. Anyone can make a bad choice. We all do from time to time. Electing a guy who had never run a business, never managed anything tangible, never met face to face with a really nasty foreign leader and never had to endure real pressure might not be a good idea. But you did and we'll have to live with it. If he get's it right more than he get's it wrong, you're all geniuses. If not, hope you have thick skin. You're going to need it.
  • Oh oh this will be good
Hey Copyleft, why don't you educate us and YOU explain the difference between communist, socialist and fascist. Oh and while you are at it, give us a primer on how each comes into power will ya!?!

  • Could somebody at the DNC please tell Copytheft to read comments BEFORE making a fool of him/her or itself.
For the record, the comment was:

Consider that AWK and other Demon-fascist trolls favor Socialism, Fascism, Marxism, etc.....

Communists weren't mentioned in that comment, you Dhimicrap trolls need to read posts and UNDERSTAND them before spewing.

Nevertheless these systems all fall under the term: Statism

Defined as: The practice or doctrine of giving a centralized government control over economic planning and policy.

Nazis advocated Fascism, Nazi is a acronym for National Socialist, these are all terms for the same idiotic concept that HAS NEVER WORKED.
  • 'Statism' *is* an idiotic concept.
Especially when idiots use it where it doesn't apply. I know you're all on the bandwagon because Mark Levin said it and like good little monkies you just parrot whatever he says, but you're wrong. A statist, by definition, wants the state to control *everything*, both economically and socially. Since you're so fond of pointing out how those 'Statist' liberals support abbortion (freedom of choice) and gay marriage, I'd say they're actually for *less* social control than conservatives. You know, antithetical to a statist.

Not that it matters. You're just going to keep parroting whatever Levin tells you to without stopping to think about it, and as conservatives traditionally do you're going to ignore the fact that your chosen party wants to control your social life because economics are all that matters, obviously.
  • AWK829 stats?
AWK829, honey, where the heck did you get your information???? Obama picked by the highest educated and wealthiest? did you get that on MSNBC????? that's completely not true, Obama was picked by the least educated electorate in the history of our country.

The lowest incomes - below 15,000 a year voted for him by close to 80%. the rest of the income brackets have split pretty much evenly. the same with education, less than high school diploma voted for him overwhelmingly.
you need to listen to your own advice and stop twisting the facts to get your point across.
I personally don't think that education means so much, the Obama supporters that were picked for interviews that were college grads, or in graduate schools, couldn't even name which party was in charge of Congress; they couldn't name the Speaker of the House. Education doesn't mean squat in my eyes, i know cause i have it and everything that I know in life that I actually need - I learned outside of school.
But the facts are what they are, so don't try spreading some falls stats around here.
  • To: Longbow
Ha! "Morons" is a cute sort of epithet from a guy who equates liberals with

    *Communists
    *Socialists, AND
    *Fascists

...all in the same post! What better demonstration could be offered that you have NO understanding of ANY of those terms you like to toss around? I'd encourage you to stop embarrassing yourself, but frankly I find it vastly amusing to watch.

This is why the far right has been left behind; they simply have no relevance to mainstream America any more.
  • Statism is an Idiotic concept
The Left advocates Statism, a system that has FAILED each and every time it's been tried.

That should be enough to brand them idiots, but just take a look at their comments.

One could try to ask them where Statism has every worked, but they never can answer that question because IT HAS NEVER WORKED!!!!

They have to make facts up out of whole cloth and constantly Lie about their agenda.

They can't even discern the difference between the meaning of the words 'Weather' and 'Whether'
  • Reality
And you cannot argue with people from either side, that cannot or will not see the damage that is being done to this nation. Can you honestly say, any of you, that you are happy with the direction we are going? Can you see the increased taxes coming at you down the road to pay for all this? Are you willing to give up more and more of your freedoms to support this version of our government?
  • BD
That's why I really think we will see a shift in so-called parties. Neither one is following it's original platforms and are going so far left that their own voters no longer recognize them.

    Get back to the constitution.

Oh yeah and I'm a right wing extremist! We ought to all get bumper stickers that say that. I know, silly, but it was a thought....
  • It's not a matter of weather one side can "win"
It's a matter of the facts quite clearly disproving this constant, fallacious assertion that "teh left" are all stupid, lazy leeches. The plain, indisputable facts of the matter are that more educated and wealthy people voted for Obama than against.

Of course, in Conservative Bizzaro-World, these facts are immediately and unquestionably not taken to mean that the assertion is wrong. They are instead taken to support the even *more* fallacious line of reasoning that advanced college degrees don't mean anything. There is, of course, no refutation of the wealthy, because even idiot conservatives realize that there's no way to spin $200K+ incomes and say that "having a lot of money doesn't mean you're rich".

You cannot argue with robots that are immune to facts.
  • Yeah, Joyce
I have several younger nieces and nephews who drank the Kool-aid and they are already regretting their naivety.
  • Don't you just love it when the Demon-fascist trolls make things up and then claim they are facts.
Note that AWK doesn't cite where these 'facts' come from – the Uhhhhbama campaign or DNC no doubt. If not, it'll be from the Wikipedia or some other highly suspect source of information.

One can easily lie with statistics, but you only need to peruse the idiotic comments made by the DNC trolls to confirm the [Extremely] limited brain-power theory.

Consider that AWK and other Demon-fascist trolls favor Socialism, Fascism, Marxism, etc.....
These systems that have failed time and time again and yet they still want to impose it on the rest of us and have it fail yet again.

    Again, these people are MORONS!!!
  • Numbers game
"Obama won among the brightest and most productive members of society: he won among those with advanced degrees by 58%-40%, and he won those with household incomes over $200K by 52%-46%." by AWK829

    and 90% of welfare recipients

Sorry, just had to do it! Ya know, I really don't think either side can win this one.

Would just like the left to remember it was a narrow margin, not like you had a landslide victory, so quit ticking off almost half of the US! And quite a few of those who voted for the Dems are now questioning their decision.
  • AWK
The only thing you prove is that an advanced degree does not necessarily translate to intelligence.
  • Misrepresentation of those on the left.
Longbow64 references "limited brain power on the left."

    I'll remind you of this:

Obama won among the brightest and most productive members of society: he won among those with advanced degrees by 58%-40%, and he won those with household incomes over $200K by 52%-46%.

Your stereotypes of those on the left of the political spectrum as stupid, lazy, jobless wealth-envying losers looking for government handouts simply are not supported by facts.

You are entitled to your opinions, but not to your own facts.
  • copyleft.....
copyleft,I really have enjoyed your amusing sh*t-stiring and misguided comments over the weeks but if you can't see the difference between the spending over 8 years of Bush and the spending over 90 days of Obama then I have given you too much credit and you possibly are the idiot that so many on this site believe you are(personally, I think your koolaid has been spiked again)
  • Tea Pary in KC!!
I was VERY impressed that I saw on our local CBS station, KCTV5, a report on the Kansas City branch of the Tea Party being held tomorrow at the Johnson County Community College.....hope to see all from KC area there!!!
  • Re: Boortz - you need better trolls
    By John Galt @ 04/14/09 10:45:25 AM
You know, at first I thought that the Democrap fascists didn't think that Neal was that much of a threat, and that why they only assign their more Idiotic trolls to this site – like Copytheft, Slugo's Ghost, etc.

Then I realized that their moronic comments are the BEST the Demon-fascists can do, given the limited brain power on the left, sigh.
  • TEH MSM WON'T COVER IT!
...Because even if you had 3 MILLION people show up to your little teabagger parties, you would not muster 1% of the total US population. You are talking about "thousands"

It is not in the media's FREE MARKET CAPITALIST PROFIT-GENERATING interest to expend valuable resources to cover what considerably less than 1% of the population chooses to do with their spare time. You are an irrelevantly small fraction of society. So, like all you conservobots keep saying we should do, we just ignore unworthy minorities.
  • Tax Day tea parties
For Hugo and the rest of the commentors:
The "tax cut" for 95% of Americans, if you are referring to the Making Work Pay credit under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, ISN'T A TAX CUT! Insted the Dept. of Treasury changed the withholding tables, so less Federal taxes are taken out of your paycheck, but the tax rates remain the same. So April 15, 2010 you will find that not enough taxes were withheld and you will have to write a bigger check to the federal government.
    Some tax cut.
  • Tax levels have to change
With over 12BILLION being piled up do you really think the tax percents of 36%/39% will stand? Anyone thinking ahead KNOWS that all hell is going to break out as the taxes go up and up and up. So we want them to stop the spending, just do the infrastructure, fix the border and get OUT OF OUR POCKETS!!!

Plus all the increasing infringements on our rights. I really don't expect the libs here to understand. You don't think you are due any rights to succeed or fail on your own without government interference. And the past? It's kinda like the final straw has been cast. Many of us have been complaining for years. I even gave Clinton credit for his welfare reform reducing the number of people on welfare and a decrease in unwed mothers in section 8 housing. Seems that trend is reversing.

Bet I just ticked off some libs with that one and you'll be posting how stupid I am and where is my proof and you'll post some links to prove me wrong. Go ahead. We'll have our protests, educated voters and KICK your fanny starting in 2010.

    Have a nice day.
  • AWK
getting something for nothing isn't just an MTV thing, it's socialism. When you get more money back than what you pay in taxes, that's getting something for nothing.
  • I'll go you one further Neal...
Not only will they minimize the tax protesters, they will give the ACORN "counter-protesters" the bulk of the coverage even though their numbers will be minute in comparison.
  • AWK you still dont get it.
The Dayton Ohio tea party is from 6pm to 8pm (you will still be sleeping) and I will surely attend after a hard days work (do you know what that is?)
When people truly believe in what they are protesting about it does not matter when or where the protests are held. It's usually the liberals that wait for the weekend when they finally wake up from a long weeks nap and suckling of the governments’ teat. He He
  • ACORN tomorrow
They will be trying to get in your face and cause trouble so just be the better protester and ignore them.
  • to the t-shirt doctor
can I have some of what you're smoking this morning?

After that last post I now know you're stoned!
  • What the left does not understand...
The leftists do not understand that we are NOT ONLY fed up with Democratic "leadership"...but Republican "leadership" as well.

As a registered Republican, it saddens me that we have no one in our party to rally around. No one who really shares the same contempt for the way our governemnt is over-reaching.

It is my opinion that Michael Steele is an idiot, and certainly not someone to rally around...

I don't know what to do, but I will go to a Tea Party tomorrow. I doubt the the Republicans will listen...anymore than the Democrats, but it is worth a shot.
  • Media coverage
The media coverage we will be seeing: "Fair Tax now law."
US citizens celebrate, illegals packing and going back home.
Former government officials now greeters at Walmart.
  • Media Focus
The media will be able to poo-hoo the "fringe conservative activists" tea parties consisting of only a few tens of thousands of citizens, but watch them make a big deal about the dozens of brave, Acorn organized [http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/14/tea-party-protestors-gird-possible-backlash/] citizens rallying in support of President Obama's budget.
  • tea party
com'on my lil' pork chops.....tea party? go to work!

the only way taxes will go away is when WE vote the scum sucking politicians out and amend the constitution.

    go to work be productive......

    DRIP
    don't return incumbent politicians
  • this stuff here
How come in all of this you never see any mention of how much income the govt of the united states generated? The govt pulls much more in that this so called income tax brings. Why is that never reported? Why are we paying any taxes at all at this point? The us govt collects a lot of money on various fees, services, and its own investments. So why do we never hear of that number? The fair tax is crap and there is no need for it all. It will also never happen based on how money is created in this system. This fair tax will never allow them to cover what they steal so it won't happen ever guys.
  • Events
Neal, I went to the last one in Orlando and what an event it was! But how about having these events in the districts of Pelosi,Reid, Rangel, Shumer and even the old stomping grounds of Obama: Chicago? Seems like they are only contained to the South.
  • Hugo's Ghost
It's obvious you're a blithering idiot to believe the 95% tax cuts for Americans. That's because you're too busy planting your lips on Obama's hindside.
  • Op Ed Piece
    Charles,
That op ed made me cringe. Where is the cry for the fairness doctrine in newpaper op ed columns? No wonder newspapers are dying off.
Here was my favorite part of the column:
"supported by the usual group of right-wing billionaires". So, I guess the left-wing billionaires like George Soros (sp) who 'fund' liberal protests are ok.
I think I'll bring some AstroTurf with me tomorrow!
  • It's not about taxes, it's about spending
As long as the politicians can keep the conversation focused on how much each of us are paying in taxes they can keep the class warfare going. If there were greater focus on what those taxes are SPENT on then there would be a tea party every week.

Besides, only about 50% of taxes are even visible to consumers. The rest are embedded in the products and services we buy every day.
  • Hugo's Ghost comment...
Hugo's Ghost says... "the stimulus package included a TAX CUT for 95% of americans..." (of which 45% don't pay any income taxes) and "And the top tax rate will still be lower than it was for most most of the Reagan administration" (yeah, when Reagan took office, he inherited Carter's 70% top tax bracket, but Reagan's Tax Reform Act of 1986" eliminated much of our complex tax code down to three low tax brackets, max being 28%. It also eliminated most of the deductions, making his "TRA'86" effectively a 'Flat Tax'.

So what do we have now, 23 years later?

From Reagan's three simple low brackets of 28% to today's complex multi-tier tax system maxing out at almost 40% (55% when FICA is added) plus 30,000 new pages of complex tax regulations added to Reagan's reform.

That's why a 'flat tax' won't work. The FairTax is the way to go as it mandates the abolision of the 16th Amendmemt and replaces it with a simple fair sales tax.
  • Hugo
Hugo, I am part of the 95% and don't really consider an extra $10 in my paycheck a 'tax cut'. Especially when only the withholding schedules are being changed, not the tax rates. Wake up, buddy!
95% of Americans will have a MAJOR tax increase when your beloved cap and trade goes into effect. Heating your home will cost $1,000 per month!
  • Tax and Morality Hypocrisy
Why is it that the Liberals always attack Conservatives for trying to Legislate Morality, yet condem people who want to keep their earned money based on the idea that it is the right thing (moral) to take care of the less fortunate.
  • @George Minuteman
It is easier to build a coalition if you leave Christianity out of it. There are a large number of non-theists who support the Constitution and the principles of smaller government.

If you honestly believe that this is a country founded on Christianity, you obviously are not doing enough reading of individuals who disagree with your premise.
  • Dozens?!
Dozens of protests, Neal? How about hundreds? So far, more than 600 protests -- and perhaps quite a bit more than that -- have been scheduled. Have you visited the taxdayteaparty.com web site? Have you seen the tea party Google map?
  • No surprise
Of course the coverage will describe it as a fringe of fanatical grudge-bearing right-wingers... because that's what it is!

If these protests were REALLY about excessive government spending, they would have been happening for the past eight years. And they didn't. Gee, I wonder why...?

Enjoy your sore-loser tea and crumpets. I hear they go great with sour grapes.
  • AWK829 - FYI
Its being held on a Wednesday as that is April 15, tax day. Those of us who pay income tax are well aware of this.
  • Tea Parties
I find it funny that the Homeland Security guidance on right wing extremists was released the day before the Tea Parties will occur. Looks like a great way to minimize the effect of the protests by labeling every attendee as a right wing extremist.
  • Boortz - you need better trolls
I'm not sure where the trolls come from on this website, but they're pretty lame. I find it difficult to believe that anyone with enough sense to turn on a computer would actually believe the things they post.
  • a futile effort?
Unfortunatly the main stream media won't cover it, the politicans will ignore it, liberals will belittle it,and the majority of ignorant, appathetic americans will never hear of it or care about it. Armed revolution is possibly the only way left to prevent the total destruction of America. Nancy Pelosi knows this which is why she's pushing the gun regestration bill again(which WILL led to confiscation). She knows that the only thing that could theaten their power is armed citizens fed up with them. Don't waste your money on teabags, buy ammo instead cause ALTHOUGH TEA PARTY MAY NOT BE TELEVISED YOU CAN BET THE REVOLUTION WILL BE! By the way,I'm not a right-wing-wacko-gun nut preaching armed rebellion, I'm just a student of history who learns from it and I'm just calling it as I see it.
  • George, if you are protesting everything under the sun . . .
    George Minuteman @ 04/14/09 09:25:29 AM:
You seem to have a lot of beefs (by the way, what's an "internationalist"?). You know those anarchist nuts who come out to protest everytime there is some summit of world leaders? They seem to be against just about everything. And because they are unable to articulate what exactly it is that they are for or against, they are deservedly ridiculed and not taken seriously.

I suggest the "tea protestors" get real clear about what their complaint is and what their clear, compelling, specific alternative vision is on that issue. Lumping every conservative cause under the sun into one protest won't get you anything.

And Hugo's Ghost is right . . . raising the top 2 marginal tax rates (which apply to less than 5% of taxpayers) from 33%/35% to 36%/39.6% (the same level they were in much of the prosperous 1990s) hardly constitutes an abandonment of capitalism for socialism.
  • get on social networking sites
I've never seen anything about FairTax on digg, why not? A story like "Why do we pay an income tax?" could easily get on the front page if the readers here "dugg" it.
  • No matter what...don't give up!
That's what I tell myself - because no matter how much attention we get tomorrow - it will be our persistence going forward that will really make the difference. There will come a point when we won't be ignored. We just can't give up. I know I'm not alone, and I know we're going to get this done.

    Should be “Lying Statist Media”

It's really amazing how the Demon-fascists can only push their agenda with Lies and double standards.

They LOSE every time they actually tell the truth about themselves.
  • Hugo's Ghost and Fuzzy Math
First, if almost 50% of Americans get everything they paid in taxes back every spring (and maybe a little extra) then giving them more isn't a tax cut ... it's a handout. Second, I don't care how much a person makes, or how much they pay in taxes, the fact is that the government, the Lobbyists, the PACs, and everyone else in the bloated beauacracy that makes life more difficult than it has to be depends on opur tax dollars. And by switching to the Fairtax we ("THE PEOPLE") can take back some of the power and control. And that is worth any amount of struggle.
  • Hugo Hugo Hugo
You just don't get it do you? You haven't been listening. And frankly some of you never will so I'm not going to waste my breathe explaining it one more time. Your masters have you spinning these lines, go ask them.

Great quote Ben!!! George Minuteman, that was terrific as well.

JTC, yep 2 senators and one congressman. That's a condemnation on Washington I'd say.
  • "Let's see-the stimulus package included a TAX CUT for 95% of americans."

That is very interesting, since according to the IRS (NOT Rush/Hannity/Boortz), the top 50% of Americans earning income are paying 96.70% of the taxes[1]. How can you give a tax cut to someone not paying taxes? Oh yeah...only if by "tax cut" you mean "government handout"!

  • Liberal Media?
How is the media liberal? All I ever hear about from Neal is about Fox News, which is conservative. I thought the media just reports whatever will get them money(viewers/readers).
  • Hugo
You reveal your own moral bankruptcy and utter lack of integrity when you imply that people should trade their principles for a few bucks and be more grateful to their glorious leaders for the handout. And about that 3% - it's called the death of a thousand cuts. But you're fine, you have given up on making it on your own (must be those evil rich people holding you down) so you'll just go along with government theft from our children and our children's children. You are what is wrong with our country.
  • Media coverage
Or as our local rag describes it "a gathering of TAX MALCONTENTS"... and this paper is owned by Freedom Communications which touts itself as being Libertarian!
  • right wing media bias
i agree that there is some left wing media biased. but if you go to the left wing, they say that the media got a right wing bias. and they've have the proof.

so if they (the media) has a left wing biased on somethings, and a right wing biased on somethings else, who making the decisions?
  • I keep seeing this and it is really striking a chord
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

    From the Declaration of Independence
  • Media?
You say "The liberal media considers these protestors to be nothing less than selfish conservatives who simply don't want to pay their "fair share" of taxes."

Let's see-the stimulus package included a TAX CUT for 95% of americans. I bet a lot of those protesters don't even realize that they are protesting a 3% tax increase for the likes of Hannity and Boortz. And the top tax rate will still be lower than it was for most most of the Reagan administration. But hey, go ahead, myrmidons-do your masters' bidding!
  • What kind of people come to protests on weekday afternoons?
I'm curious to see what kind of people turn out for these rallies, most of which, as I understand it, are being held on a weekday afternoon, when most taxpayers (i.e., working people) are at work.

"Protesting 101", with which the right is apparently unfamiliar given its tradition of equating protest with a lack of patriotism, suggests you hold protests on weekends when more people are available to participate and when you are competing with fewer other news stories for media attention.
  • Modern Tea Party
I'm hoping to attend my local party, if my personal concerns tomorrow don't prevent me from doing so. Still, you should see what Paul Krugman has to say about them:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/13/opinion/13krugman.html?_r=1&ref=opinion
Remember, if you don't agree with the liberals, you're crazy, angry, racist, sexist, or all of the above.
  • At least 2 senators and 1 congressman
are aware of disgruntled taxpayers who resent congress stealing their hard-earned and then forking it over to undeserving recipients.
  • Has any group ever misread a protest more than our own MSM? They brand it as conservative lunacy, Republican sour grapes, anti-Obama mudslinging. And yet..........we protesters know differently. Sure, there are some of the aforementioned in the crowds. But this is different. Call me any of the above and I'll be offended (sorry. it seemed the best word to use). I am none of the above. I am an American. I support our founders. I support the America that we are supposed to be. I do not support our runaway government. Republican or Democrat...they are all responsible.

We are protesting the theft of our country by fickle and self-centered politicians. We are protesting the characterization of our country as non-Christian. We are protesting the suborning of our Constitution by internationalists and liberal justices. We are protesting the theft of our hard-earned money.......used to fund trillions of dollars of useless spending and quadrillions of dollars of debt.

Label us, belittle us and ignore us at your own peril. This movement is America. This movement is going to revolutionize our country once again.

Read our Manifesto. It is called the Constitution of the United States of America.

April 15th is just a beginning.
  • Lying without telling lies
What a perfect example of the left wingers who run the networks ignoring anything that neither fits their closed-minded view of the world or gets them bigger ratings. They might run a story that runs against their government worshiping grain, if it will get more people to tune in. This story would actually do that for them in the long run, but there are none so blind...
  • I'll see ya in Columbia!
And I've said this before but it's worth repeating: Even if the politicians in Washington don't pay any attention to these activities, it's about educating and getting the attention of the voting public. When Washington wakes up after the elections in 2010, THEN they will wonder what happened?
