Do you remember Henrietta? She's the leach that went to an Obama rally back in February and asked Obama for a house. Apparently she and her son were homeless because he lost his job and she couldn't find one. Hearing her request, the wife of a Republican representative in Florida gave Henrietta a home to live in temporarily. She had to pay minimal rent.

But guess what? Henrietta is still "struggling" to find a job and she might soon lose the home that she was given. Here's Henrietta's first mistake ... the article says that she "faithfully goes to an employment center in Fort Myers in hopes of finding a job." Hey, Henrietta. Newsflash - you can try more than just showing up at a government agency and hoping that the government gets you a job.

So now Henrietta is worried that she is going to lose the home that was given to her. Why? Because the woman who owns the home is actually trying to sell it. Once the House sells, Henrietta has to hit the road. But the wife of this Florida lawmaker says that she will do anything in her power to make sure that Henrietta doesn't end up homeless again.

Henrietta is a mooch. She will continue mooching until she absolutely, as a last resort, has to do something on her own to survive. Henrietta is the very face of the new Democrat voter and Obama supporter. And what's the story on her worthless son?

What others are saying

  • Suggestion
I would request that everyone read the series The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind. The first book is called Wizard's First Rule. It is a sci-fie fantasy book, but it has so much symbolism in it about socialistic rule. Once you get to the second book you will see what I am talking about. It's all about a man trying to defeat the Imperial Order. The Imperial Order believes in the "Greater Good" Where those who work hard should give to those who are lazy and don't work so that way you are equal to the "less fortunate" The Florida womans first mistake was actually helping this worthless piece of crap. When it gets bad enough she will find a job.
  • House Louse
If our state and federal governments don't stop catering to this 'culture,' we should all join in. Hold our hands out. Get needy. See if a national monthly sick-out paves the political road to an eat-what-you-earned culture.
Oh, we don't have to ruin the country with this. Just have one tea party a month during work hours; but not in a park. Let's all go to our local welfare office and fill out applications.
Government can't do some things; stop drug use, run a school, run a healthcare system, run a retirement fund, buy good art, differentiate between welfare rats and the truly needy!
    All charity should be local.
  • Does she have a resume ?
After all this time "looking for work" and all the FREE media attention she is getting, she must have a resume. I'm surprised that nobody in the adoring media has posted her resume for hiring businesses to review.

So my question is, "Does she have a resume and if so, can I see it?"

I have a feeling that the answer(s) to my questions will reveal why she can't find a job.

She is either too incompetent to make a resume or she has a resume that details her complete lack of skills. I am certain that anybody with at least the skills to flip a hamburger could find a job if they *really* wanted a job.
  • we treat animals better
they won't let us feed the animals in parks because they will no longer hunt and become dependant on us. it's pretty sad that we care more about animals than we do people.
  • This reminds me...
..of the other newsmaker at this meeting, the guy who worked at McDonald's but wasn't happy with the quality of life it was providing him...and almost fainted at the absolute privilege of getting to address the Messiah directly...wonder how he's doing??
  • kiss that house goodbye
The home owner that took in that homeless woman in can kiss that house goodbye. Can Henrieta say "squatter rights"?
  • Obama supporters.
Obama supporters and worshippers are going to be so disappointed when he is not re-elected in 2012. The DNC will have to endorse him but they already know they got another Jimmy Carter on their hands. They really stepped in it this time.
  • nope, disagree
just because it says she faithfully goes to the employment office in hopes of finding a job, doesn't mean she's not looking for it any other way. Perhaps she doesn't have the skills that are needed, and that's where this kind of government help should start - in training so that she employable. Sorry, I don't see any reasons to rip into her. Calling her a scam artist is just odd, I'm sure the REPUBLICAN lady that's helping her would be able to see a scam artist by now. Don't hate, people, just for the sake of hating!
  • ETR & Stan
ETR, I agree. I worked with, then replaced a guy in my job who had a graduate degree, was fairly bright, and seemed nice enough--- not like the kind of guy who would intentionally try to con anyone. But he was 45 years old and literally living in his mom and dad's basement (presumably, still is). He came to work depressed one day... his father had just had a heart-attack, and would be off his feet for a while. When I tried to comfort him by saying that the chances of his dad pulling through this OK (because at 75, he was a harder worker and healthier guy than most folks our age), he said that he wasn't worried about his dad, but rather, worried about who was going to mow the lawn, now that dad was laid up. He was serious! He had never cut the grass a day in his life, and wasn't about to start now. And of course his mother still cooked for him and did his laundry. When they pass away, he will be just like Henrietta, waiting for someone else to come along and take care of him. It has nothing to do with intelligence (or the lack of it), or the ABILITY to get out and doing something productive. It's just a mindset some people have, I guess. It's easier to be a victim and allow yourself to be coddled for life. These folks are registered voters... scary.

Stan, good for you that you are pursuing an advanced degree. But make sure you read the paragraph above. The guy to whom I was referring had quite an impressive collection of "Captain Planet" and "Pinky & the Brain" figurines covering his desk at work. A master's degree isn't indicative of maturity or common sense. I have more than 60 hours of post grad work, and have had to sit in classes with people who hadn't a lick of sense in their empty heads. The best and brightest among us are and always have been the people who go out and cut the grass when it has to be done; not the people who sit at the top of the class, wondering whose going to do it for them when the grass gets too tall.
  • says whitey
you should read 'black rednecks and white liberals' by Thomas Sowell.

According to him, the current "black" culture is derived from the lazy white culture in the south from the 1800's who derived their culture from the lazy Scottish culture from the 1600's.

Apparently city-folk in England in the 1600s that came to America moved to the NE part of the country while the country bumpkins in Scotland and Ireland moved to the south. Each brought their respective cultures with them and transplanted them here.
  • Find a job!
Does she actually visit any businesses. I know she has a truck since she was living in one so she has transportation. I work in Fort Myers and businesses are hiring. I've seen the signs outside. Get with it lady!
  • Not yet
No RPGs until I graduate from grad school
  • wrong title
    she's not a scam artist ... just a loser.

She's teaching her son how to be a loser and their loser friends are probably jealous of the free housing ...

ten bucks says they'll cry foul when "their" home is "taken" from them ...
  • Miss Henrieta
Of course the following statement will bring with it the appearance of racism to those of you with a liberal agenda. Those of you with thin skin, unable to accept criticism, the recipients themselves will no doubt accuse me of being a racist and will take extreme offense to the following. I wholly accept this criticism and believe that if these topics are not openly discussed, then our society will never advance.

The fact of the matter is that those descendant of african slaves have fomented a culture of getting something for nothing. Not only is it accepted in the black community it is graded. Perhaps it emerged during the era of slavery itself whereby whitey supplied them everything they needed to survive - shelter, food etc. What is important is that this cultural defect has undoubtedly been prolonged by the recipients themselves, churches and empathetic caucasians. As a society we should soundly reject this culture and let Darwins laws correct and guide this activity to extinction.
  • Clearly Boortz
you are a hate monger and a racist..in fact you're a racist hate monger...Pay no attention to the facts, just observe that she is black! Hey! I'm Johnnie Cochrane! On the subject of size, I have yet to see a homeless/poor person on food stamps etc that is skinny...All of them are at least average size with far too many of them being fat! How can that be? They don't have anything they say, and so need our money to buy food (lots of it it seems).
  • a lesson in wealth redistribution.
the left always argues "if only"... "if only she had a job she'd be ok.. if only she had a mansion she'd be ok, if only she had a new car she'd be ok."

now shes practically GIVEN a home.. and still fails to even cover the minimum. she goes to a govt employment agency for work? try the paper.. try going to the library and using the internet to find a job.. try HARDER. This is a lesson in wealth redistribution.. some people live in a perpetually "poor" mindset.. and no amount of govt intervention or free homes cars money food healthcare etc. will change that.
  • Miss Australia needs a decent cook.
Oh wait, that might mean work, henrietta needs a job, not that work nonsense. Work's for suckers these days.
  • @Trey
I laughed so hard when I saw your post. I thought you'd be right on... Where is Copyleft? Grounded? Or could it be that there really is just no defending some morons.
  • No big surprise there
Two blogs -- Grand Rants and Sweetness and Light -- have been documenting the perfidy of henrietta and her son Cory. To read more, start here and follow the links: http://grandrants.wordpress.com/2009/02/12/will-they-never-learn/
  • That poor homeless family
I would sure like to see the resumes they are using. I am sure they will include cell phone numbers for each.
  • HOMELESS FLORIDA WOMAN IS A SCAM ARTIST
    Shouldn't that be "Leech"?
  • Stan GayBull
Notice how Stanley tries to divert the fact that the Dems are morons? It's a classic tactic on their part. Oh well, back to role playing games for Stanley...
  • Where is she from, really ??
I must have missed that part where it said she is from New Orleans !!
  • Greed
We all know that the left accuses any achiever of being greedy and undeserving of their wealth (after all, they need a moral justification for taking it by force don't they?)

But a person who does not pay attention in school, does not work hard for their own prosperity, and has no committment to their own well-being is somehow entitled to a portion of another person's property???

Who is the truly greedy and undeserving person here?
  • Re: What?!
Just wrote "How can you be homeless AND fat?!"

She's not fat, she's 'big boned' *snicker*
  • I've dealt with them for years!
All of the respondents (so far) are "SPOT ON" with their comments and observations. I know........because I've endeavored to help people of this ilk in the past. They develop a sense of ENTITLEMENT and become really pissed if you try to bring it to their attention! I finally gave up and decided that I'd live longer and better if I concentrated on my wife and on myself. Randy.....how in the hell were you able to spell Staphalococus....I mean Stephinocous.....I mean Stepnfetchit......I mean Steptedinit? Oh hell, forget it, spell check refuses to help me! Guvmit skoolin is haintn me.
  • What?!
How can you be homeless AND fat?!
  • Oops...DE-void of conscience.
  • As long as the Government serves as an enabler for these sandbags their numbers will only continue to grow. Something for nothing trumps blood, sweat and tears when you are void of conscience.
  • mooch?
Neal, didn't you want to start calling these people "looters?" Here's your chance. She defines "looter."
  • joblessness
In the service sector of society THERE ARE ALWAYS JOBS AVAILABLE. Anyone can learn a trade and do a job. For instance, there are (probably) hundreds of people in my area that mow lawns. Look in any newspaper and you'll find "handy man" service offered. THE POINT IS - just put yourself "out there" and "do something" for "someone." ....that is a job! Just get off your (backsides) and "DO SOMETHING." It is called work...and ANYONE can do it...ANY TIME.
  • Henrietta et al
    I couldn't care less.
  • PROOF
This is proof that repubs in DC are idiots. This guy probably felt bad he spent too much time passing bills on abortion and Terry Schiavo rather than actually making sure Bush wouldnt tank our economy while worrying about Halliburton stock
  • I've heard that her son Corey still owns a house.

    http://macsmind.com/wordpress/2009/02/11/obamas-homeless-henrietta-hughes-owns-a-house/
  • neal right again!
again and again, neal tells it like it is. i went to the source's link, cnn, and guess what? they fail to say WHO gave this woman a home to live in, how they get money if they are unemployed, and what the is the son doing as an adult depending on his mother. What else can you expect from CNN...
  • Wow...
Not surprised. Some renters know the game well. They know EXACTLY how long they can stay without paying rent before the eviction happens. They are gone by then.

I had a renter that decided not to pay. Georgia is a great state for landlords (30 days and they can be out). Well, after serving the notice, my renter called the courthouse to find out the date the deputies will show up to throw them out scheduled by the court. I used a separate company that scheduled the eviction a few days earlier within the letter of the law and surprised them. They called me asking to stop them, blah, blah, blah. We took pictures of the eviction and enjoyed every minute of it. While it was going on, we heard them talking about going through this before.

It's an art, folks. Most of the time, these clowns could pay the rent and not lose a place to stay.
  • Please Neil, she is not a mooch since this is the way she was raised and she really does not know any better.
  • Absolutely dead on
The woman was born right arm bent at a 90 degree angle at the elbow, palm facing upward. She seeks and knows only one thing. Handouts.

Give me, Give me, I deserve, it's my right, I must have, I should get...it's in her DNA.
  • Henrietta
Hey Henrietta, get in on this GREAT job opportunity! I have it on good authority that Matt Lauer is going on assigment soon, so the White House will have to hire someone to polish Obama's right ball for a month. Get in on it quick, there's going to be a LOOONNNGGG LINE!!!

(The left ball is of no immediate concern, because George Stephanopolous has no plans to miss work in the near future)
  • SAY IT ISN'T SO
....and this is such a surprise......and yea....what about here worthless son.
  • Copy Left
And Copy Left will start his rant in 3... 2... 1...
  • a job?
A question I would like ot see this woman answer is...how many applications did you submit last week for a job? Was it less than 100? If so she isn't really looking for a job.
  • She is probably unhirable. Homelessness is not an in-demand job skill.

Some homeless guy asked me for a job the other day but when I asked him for his portfolio, all he could offer me was a bag of cans and bottles. I didnt hire him.
