What others are saying

  • @Rutager
Thanks genius...too bad the comment you were responding to was from Gavin.
  • Dumbed down for Ragner
    Read this S-L-O-W-L-Y...

Me no watch. Me no subscribe cable. Me no pay for crap. Do you? Who does that make gullible?

(Me read books... long books... no pictures.)

Me hear her sing in another venue. Her have good voice.

Her voice good even though show stink.

Me make bigger point. Bet you missed it.

Me no care if you respond or not. Me no read your idiotic rants any more. Get a clue.

    Outta here.

    .
  • @By Ragnar D
lol. Isn't it great to be heard? You call the guy gullible and he responds by calling you gullible. Ummmm, no, you are!

Well said. It is gullible people these two sarcastic, hate-filled idiots that make producers tell Simon to act surprised.

    I can hear the conversation....
P:OK, Simon, when she starts singing, look surprised and impressed.
S:What dope will believe I haven't heard her sing before?
P:All of the dopes that think this is a good show like sfcmac & Rutager!!!

    LOL. Idiots.
  • Ragner, work on your reading comprehension
...& your ear, for that matter.

Let's address your scattergun rant, you mouth-breather:

    (1) "I have no doubt that the PANEL's reaction was STAGED." Get that? Read it again closely. Repeat until your mouth doesn't move.

Now...She CAN sing that well. I've seen her sing without accompaniment. A capella. No instruments. Just her & her voice.

    (2) I watch very little TV. I used to occasionally listen to C-SPAN (or 2) while working. I got sick of subsidizing all of the crap on cable to see what little I wanted to see.

TV stinks because millions of idiots such as yourself are gullible enough to pay $50+ a month for crap that isn't worth watching.

    (3) Steven Tyler? Pop garbage. As a "singer" he isn't even mediocre. Same goes for Meatloaf. Neither would have made it were it not for their over-the-top personas & stage antics. Who is Amy Winehouse?

    The Three Tenors?

"How wonderful opera would be if there were no singers." - Gioacchino Rossini

    .
  • RE: sfcmac & Rutager
"Maybe you can post a response to Ms. Boyle on YouTube."

Yes, because that would be an excellent use of my time.

Gullible people like you two are the reason television shows are so horrible nowadays. Producers don't even have to try anymore...all they need to do is say something is "real" and you buy it hook, like, and sinker. From Pro Wrestling, to Jerry Springer, to crap like The Hills, and now this "made for TV miracle," you have become useful idiots for the networks.

As for this lame argument that "she's ugly, so it's a story!"...another slight of hand by the producers of this dumb show (that you are eating up). Last time I checked, there are plenty of "unattractive" singers around. Have you seen Steven Tyler? Meatloaf? Amy Winehouse? Hell, the Threee Tenors were probably the best singers ON EARTH and they weren't exactly underwear models.

    Get a grip.
  • @ragnar aka miserable fool
    RE: sfcmac
You actually beleive that Simon Cowell (and everyone else involved with the show) had never heard this woman audition?"

You'll have to ask Cowell. The surprised look on his face, as well as that of the other two panelists belie that assumption.

Thank so much for endowing us with your snarky, cynical B.S. Maybe you can post a response to Ms. Boyle on YouTube. She'll be thrilled at knowing she's been relegated to just a "contrived piece of TV joy".

By the way, I don't watch American Idol, or its British counterpart, but the video was a pleasant surprise, nontheless.

    MORON.
  • RE: sfcmac
You actually beleive that Simon Cowell (and everyone else involved with the show) had never heard this woman audition? Somehow, it was a complete surprise to them that she could sing?

I may be a "miserable fool," but at least I'm not a gullible moron. I'm glad this contrived peice of TV joy could replace your Xanax this week...
  • @Gavin volaire
Thank you for "gracing" us with your incomperable wit. Trust me, we get it.
  • Why?`
I want to know why she has not been discovered yet? She blew the roof off the dump.
  • I HAD to come back for this
What's this? Neal "the obesity Nazi of Hot'lanta" is gushing over an angelic voice because it came out of a vessel that didn't look like HE thought it should?

You're a world class hypocrite, Neal.

May you fly for eternity--in coach--seated next to one of those big fat bikers you love so much.

    HEY RAGNER.

I've seen her sing without accompaniment. I have no doubt that the panel's reaction was staged. However, she's for real, you douche.

Someone once said, "Educate the ugly. The attractive will just get by on their looks anyway."

As a member of the talented yet overlooked crowd, I'd say the public reaction to this lady's gift is proof enough that--contrary to "The Mouth's" mantra--a good number of successful people didn't work all that hard to get where they are. They were either in "the club" or had "the look."

    "So I thank old Yale...
    And I thank the Lord...
And I also thank my father
who is chairman of the board."

    - Allan Sherman, "When I was a Lad"
  • Priorities
Her voice still won't get her laid.
  • Susan Boyle
Neal, Thanks for posting. I was really upset when this was like the leading story on all of the news channels because I thought it was just going to be like when that one guy that couldn't sing became an internet icon that no one can remember any more. But, this was very enjoyable and quite pleasant. This was the first time I listened and watched it. I was really amazed and really enjoyed it. And to those of you cynical people out there, show some respect. I et you have no idea how difficult it is to get up in front of people and do the thing that she did. Quit whinning and go watch Rachel Maddow because that is who you are sounding like.
  • What a singer!
She's got me trying to singing that song now! (I only wish I could sing :)
  • Paul Potts
As an aside, I looked up Paul Potts from the link posted earlier and thought he was amazing as well. Called my mom to tell her about him and she already knew about him. She recently gave me an Ipod and I haven't yet erased her music from said device. She has his album on it!

You are now reading the words from a conservative with a mohawk that has a penchant not just for punk, but now also for opera! Wow....
  • So beautiful
This was so beautiful it made me cry. Thatnks for posting it Neal, it truly did make my day! Life is beautiful and it reminded me that I can be shallow and we all need to look for the beauty within. Thank you, Susan Boyle for sharing your wonderful gift with the world
  • Links
I came across some other videos of her at another conservative website that i frequent.

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/04/17/audio-lost-susan-boyle-recording-discovered/

    This lady is amazing!

29 year old male with a mohawk who leans towards punk music (but is a conservative, imagine that!) and I'm tearing up at this lady's overnight success story!
  • Scottish Singing Sensation
You are right, as you most often are - Susan should inspire everyone - talen doesn't come with beauty - but beauty with talent!
  • Enough Already
Are you people really this hung up on looks? Say it once, fine. Say it 100 times, two days in a row, give her a standing ovation.....it's like the world is shocked she could possibly have anything to offer. Just look at her! She's not hot so obviously she has no skills whatsoever.....

What's this? She can sing? How can this be? I'm shocked! I'm amazed! At first I was wondering who tied her shoes but now I'm in tears!

Seems like a bit of an overreaction at this point. She can sing. Very well. We get it. Reminds me of the time Neal made a 6 foot putt and his 3 playing partners passed out.
  • WOW!
First a note to Ragnar D.:

Leave it to a miserable fool like you to throw a turd in the punchbowl. Go back to your cave.

    As for Ms. Boyle:

What a hell of a voice! Kudos to her for putting those cat-calling idiots in their place, just by singing.
  • Thank you
Wow thanks for posting this. I don't watch these shows, but that was simply amazing. Thanks to the others for posting the other examples. You all made my day!
  • wow
    that's something you don't see (or hear)everyday.
  • Incredible!
I wish I had watched that this morning instead of this evening. That made my day. Absolutely stunning voice.
  • Autism
As the father of a son with high-functioning autism, I had a hunch that she might be on the autism "spectrum". A little bit of research showed that is indeed the case. She has been reported to have Aspergers Syndrome, a mild form of autism.

The lesson is to never judge someone negatively because of their social awkwardness or appearance. Folks with autism sure as hell didn't choose to be affected by it. Everyone has a gift to give. We just need to give them a chance to show it off.
  • T.E.A. Parties
Mr. Boortz: Due to a previous "good deed" I planned for this morning, I missed your lively radion show on WMAC AM Macon, Ga. However I did attend a TEA Party at Warner Robins from 5 'till 6:30 and boastfully held a sign along with approximately 50 other signs and some 250 attendees.
My wonder and my question to you, is (obviously in your humble opinion) why Hannity came to Atlanta and home-boy Newt went to NY?? That I'm disappointed in, but it's just a personal favorite and probably selfish. Former Speaker Gingrich is a Gawga boy and I sincerely respect him and his most forward thinking of any politician! I do like Hannity and am glad he has graced his character and brought his inflence to Atlanta and the south. But again I'll ask you, Why do you think those visitations came about? Am I off base in wanting Professor Gingrich "home" or is he attempting to reach the Northern audience??
    Love to listen to ya'.
    Charlie Fountain
    Warner Robins, GA.
  • awesome
Thanks, Boortz...that was cool. What a voice.
  • Turning 50 this year, and tears streaming down
I saw this on ABC World News last night, and was so touched. The 7+ minute YouTube version is even better, because it shows the whole story...the skepticism, the sneers, and then...the wonder of her voice. The judges' reactions are priceless, and the whole thing had me in tears. Magnificent and bravo to Susan Boyle.
  • She's in for some lovin'
That might be enough to land her a man, baby.
  • Didn't feel it...
Am I the only one that thought this seemed fake and contrived? The constant shots of the judges, crowd, and backstage goons didn't even seem to match the audio. I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't even singing.

    Sorry, not impressed.
  • WOW---
I can't get my jaw off the floor, GOOD FOR HER for realizing her dream!
  • Wow!
    Just wow!
  • Tears in my eyes..
In a Good way. Superb! The Thesaurus fails!
  • WOW!!!
That was absolutely AMAZING... God bless her and I wish her all the best! If she puts out a CD, I will be first in line to buy it!!!!
  • WOW
Amazing im a 35yr old man and she brought me to tears in 3 minutes flat. That was simply unbelievable
  • Under a rock
Geez, why does everyone find stuff like this so surprising? Better Susan Boyle than Mr. Tanner.
  • Dadnabit!
Dang it Neal! Last week I had Do-Re-Mi stuck in my head for five days. Now you pass along this one! :-)
  • Inspirational
This is to you Neal and everyone else who has made fun of someone like her because of her appearance, yes overweight and average looking people do matter in this world and are not just for your insults.
  • neal is obsessed with american idol
boortz - go ahead and admit it. You love American Idol (or the UK equivalent) as much as the rest of the dumb masses!!!
  • Susan Boyle
Where in the world has that incredible talent been hiding?
  • Susan Boyle
Thanks Neil. As one who never watches reality TV, some things worth watching can be missed. Glad you shared the amazing singer with us
  • Suzan Boyle
Thank you Neal. Suzan Boyle's singing did make my day. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Talent Indeed
Amen! I love it when the unexpected is so exceptional. It's like Paul Potts all over again. Devine! Simply devine!
  • Wow
Thanks Neal that made my day! It helps that I sent it to my wife and she called to thank me crying tears of joy! I may be rewarded tonight :)
  • Kiss me arse, Simon!
  • Jreich
Come on man give the woman a break...

Normally I don't like those talent shows, but that was incredible!
  • Doyle
    Made my day!!!
  • ok
She was pitchy...and weak in her lower register.
  • Britians talent
Magnificent - sorry Neal I stopped reading the rest of your Nuze as I wanted to keep my good cheer - Thanks!

That was amazing!! I am in my office and cried when I heard that. I have shared this with everyone I know. What an uplifting moment. I hope that she goes places with that voice
  • WOW!
That blonde judge sure was hot!
-->all men are pigs - no exceptions
  • WOW
Thanks for the link to the Paul Potts video too. Both were amazing!
  • tldw

  • Extremely Touching
Call me a compassionate conservative. One of the best posts you've ever had.

    Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWNoiVrJDsE

6-year-old Connie Talbot making Simon smile...
  • Incredible
Wow...incredible...I'd pay to see her! Thx Neal!
  • Britain's Version Of Clay Aiken
I remember seeing Clay Aiken's audition(I didn't see the actual audition as I didn't start watching American Idol until season 3), the judges looked at him half expecting him to sound like Jerry Lewis and were surprised. Ditto a couple AI seasons back when this Goth chick sang the Phantom of the Opera, My jaw dropped. Just goes to show you that good looks doesn't always equal talent and vice versa.
  • Susan Boyle
Wow... posted on my facebook page because Neal is right; what a great way to start the day
  • Susan Boyle
Thanks - it did make my day and I promptly added it to my facebook!:)
  • thank you
Neal, thanks for this. It truly was a privilege to experience that. 'scuse me while I go wipe my eyes.
  • Stunned
As is oft said, don't judge a book by its cover. That was tremendous.
  • amazing
too bad she's so "ugly". i mean that in a sorrowful way. in america she wouldn't get a chance. because she's not beau-tif-ful. i remember seeing one these british idol things a while back and there was an "ugly" guy singing like an angel.

our culture is obsessed with "beautiful" people that if your not, who gives a d@@n what you can do.

    i liked her...
  • This video
WOW! I would never have expected the voice of an angel from this lady! It's never too late to go for your dreams and I hope this lady gets her dream to come true!
  • That gave me goose bumps!!!! Just goes to show how much we prejudge people by their appearance.
  • Are you kidding me Neal?
  • Susan Boyle
I've never watched American Idol nor to I expect to in the future. However,Susan's singing brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Neal. Regards
  • Wow
That was absolutely stunning. What a way to sart off the day!
  • WOW
I do not watch these type shows. In this case it was my loss. Thanks for posting this Neal. If that did not inspire you to keep chasing that dream nothing will. What a shock. I hope she goes all the way and become as famous and as rich as she wants to be. What a shame people are so superficial, myself included!
  • Susan Boyle
Inspiring. I love that a woman without the plastic appeal came onto that stage and blew the world away with her voice.

Another video clip of this lady had over 5 million views in just a few days.
  • That was Great!!
  • Susan Boyle
Lucianne.com linked to this on Monday... Such a beautiful voice, and a beautiful story. I hope she wins it!

Get your hankies out, boys and girls. This is Paul Potts redux.

    -
  • Wow
Damn you, you made me cry. :)
  • HOLY CRAP!
    Um... First!

    Yeah... wow.. what a shocker.
  • Susan Boyle
She is amazing. I hope some producer sees her and puts her in a Broadway show. A little makeover and she belongs on stage!
  • Wow
Wow, I was expecting some kind of redneck video. Thanks for making my day better Boortz.
  • Susan Boyle
    Dont miss this one!
  • Here's another one from last year
    Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEo5bjnJViA

This is the unfortunately named "Paul Potts," a cell phone salesman from England, who the judges also looked at like he was from Mars, until he sang...
  • Morning Wakeup
Neal, thanks for that link. Skill, talent, and persistence still matter.
  • Susan Boyle!
Neal: Thank you for this link. My day can only be a good one after seeing this. I am confident she will realize her dreams now. Wow! :-)

    p-rod
  • Susan
You were right, that made my day!
  • Susan Boyle
WOW!!! What a beautiful voice. Thank you!!!
