What more can you say about Slobbering Barney Frank? I mean, when you strain to understand the guy, you realize that there isn't much point ... his thought process is about as mushy as his syllables.

So Barney was making a speech ... wait, people PAY to hear this guy speak??? Anyway, Barney was making a speech at the National Low Income Housing Coalition. And get this. Barney tried to blame this entire mortgage meltdown on George Bush. I kid you not! Barney said that it was "a Bush-era policy to help low-income families become homeowners instead of renters contributed to the sub-prime mortgage crisis and, ultimately, the larger economic crisis now confronting the country." How blatant! The policy was promoted by Bush, to be sure ... but it originated under Clinton and was promoted by none other than Barney Frank himself!

But don't worry. It's Barney Frank to the rescue! He says, "We will do everything legally possible to preserve every unit of affordable (rental) housing." Yeah. It's the government's job to make sure that people can obtain affordable housing. Amazing stuff, isn't it folks?

Remember ... if you're not part of the parasite class, when you go out there to rent or buy a place to live, find out where these government-subsidized living units are, and get as far away from them as you possibly can. Unless, that is, you enjoy living around criminals and druggies.

What others are saying

  • Slobbering Fool
I feel shame when I see this idiot pictured with the flag of this once great nation. I can't help to ask what the hell kind of people vote someone like this into office and keep him there???!!
  • MARX
This is right out of the playbook by MARX!!!! Rule 1 remove the understanding or the idea of PROPERTY RIGHTS for the MASSES!!!!!! They dont even try to hide it anymore!!!!!
  • Barney is at fault!

This link shows Barney is at least partially to blame!
  • What's funny in
a sad kind of way is Frank KNOWS that no one in the dinosaur media will ever call him out on these outrageous lies and re-write of history because they are his ideological ally. So this isn't even chutpah on Frank's part, it's just security that comes from knowing you're amongst friends.
  • Clinton not responsible
Jimmy Carter signed the "Community Reinvestment Act" in 1977. This is where this mess started. Clinton just toed the party line.
  • LOL @ Stan
Wah! Wah! Everyone hates Barney Frank, because he is Jewish and gay.

That must be the reason we don't like Barney Frank. It couldn't be the fact that he and Dodd are the two politicians who are most responsible for getting us into this mess! It couldn't be the fact that Barney refuses to take any responsibility for his actions! It couldn't be the fact that Barney Frank is corrupt and incompetant.

Keep the blinders on and keep playing the race/gender/religion/sexual preferance card.
  • Gavin, you missed my point
I'm not apologizing for Neal nor am I attempting to explain what he meant to say. What I am saying is that I believe saying something is "Bush Era" is a calculated way of telling the truth while allowing it to be taken another way. It's a brilliant move. Though Joyce has a point, it's a Clinton Era policy. Now watch, I'll be attacked and corrected for personally attacking Billy and his leadership however I didn't say "Clinton," I said "Clinton Era Policy."
Neal, I have a question for you:
You state "Don't believe anything you read on this web page, or, for that matter, anything you hear on The Neal Boortz Show, unless it is consistent with what you already know to be true, or unless you have taken the time to research the matter to prove its accuracy to your satisfaction. This is known as "doing your homework."
and yet everyone comes at you as a political hate-monger. So, I have to ask, how many times a day do you laugh at those who take you WAY too seriously?
  • Fannie Mae Grand Jury
Does Neal or Jamie know whether there is a sitting grand jury looking at the abuses surrounding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?

    Thanks
  • Kerry
And to think we could have ended up with him as President! And yes it would have been worse cause he is the one that wanted to bomb N. Korea! What kind of a war do you think we would have been in?

Back to Barney and the renters. I'm sure he would award the management contract of government owned housing to Feinstein's husband.

Did you hear the stock in his company that received the contract from FDIC went up 40%????

Someone is doing well in this market.
  • Stan
That's asinine! Come on Stan you can do better than that.

That's just as bad as liberals saying the only reason for the Tea Parties was because the "right" just can't stand a black president.

    Both are stupid assumptions.
  • Big Purple Barney
He is running scared. He sees how his buddy Chris Dodd is losing credibility and he knows he is just as guilty.
  • a nation of renters
Frank wants everyone to rent. this has been their plan all along.

and who would OWN those apartments and slums that we would all rent from?

well the federal govt and the power elite of course..

    WAKE UP AMERICA!

stop holding your hands in the air with your eyes closed like you're at a christian rock concert singing "yes we can" and realize theres a guy above you putting the handcuffs on!
  • Stepcousin
    you left out Kerry.
  • pubic hairball
ok here it is. barnyard frankfooter is trying to hack up a pubic hairball while speaking, that's why she sounds like she does.

many years ago when she was running a male whorehouse she got a STD and it rotted his/her last few brain cells.

paling around with the likes of non swimin' waterhead kennedy and i served in vietnam kerry hasn't helped anything but has created a massive slime ball in D.C

    DRIP don't return incumbent politicians
  • Neal is right
Barney Frank is engaging in butt-covering, and blaming Bush. Period. Forget about how he personally and "close" friends of his were enriched by all of this.

Neal is also right that "affordable" housing is NOT where one wants to live. When I first lived in a high-rise apartment in Chicago, it was a nice, safe place. It was also rather expensive. Then the government decided to require that a certain percentage of apartments be made available as Section 8 low-income housing. So the building designated the first 8 floors as low-income, and the rest of the tenants had to pay full-price. First we had to get over anger at having to pay $1500 a month for the same apartment that someone else in the building got for $400. Then we had the additional (and far worse) problem that, even though the building had a security guard and "controlled access," once someone got past the guard and into the elevator bank, there was nothing stopping them from going anywhere they wanted in the building. So suddenly the crime rate in the building shot up. It wasn't necessarily the low-income women with tons of kids who were the criminals, it tended to be their boyfriends and brothers who were "visiting" them. It wasn't safe to walk the halls in the building - ANY of the halls. Absolutely ruined a nice place to live.
  • blame the voters
Unbelievable that this guy gets re-elected....proof that people in the northeast are absolute f#%king idiots. Same goes for the voters who continue to re-elect that bloated piece of sh!t, Ted Kennedy.
  • What do I think the uneducated will hear, Dubya?
Already told you, nuke. They will gleefully ignore Neal's lie. I think they will apologize for Neal and explain away his lie by telling us what Neal "really meant" to say. I think they will ignore the fact that what I said is accurate. I think they will not hold Boortz accountable to the same standard to which he holds those who disagree with him because of their own intellectual dishonesty.

    Gee, how predictable.
  • Repubs only like Christians
Repubs just dont like seeing a Jewish man being successful. Not to mention the other parts of Frank's life that repubs dont generally like.
  • Gavin Volaire's lack thereof
Wow....when someone states that a policy is a "Bush-Era" policy it is a backhanded way of saying "Bush did it!"

I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that. The same goes for "Clinton-era" policies etc; the administration of whoever is named is where the blame is being placed.
  • Gavin
Clinton 1995 remember? How is this a Bush Era Policy?

They are BOTH to blame so let's quit pointing fingers and just get them ALL out of office.
  • Gavin misses the point.
Neal's point here is that Barney Frank is criticizing Bush for supporting destructive legislation that Barney Frank himself promoted! Barney Frank is an incompetant, corrupt politician who is completely incapable of taking any responsibility for his part in the subprime mortgage mess.

Barney Frank also fought against any actions regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac when government regulators, George Bush, and Bill Clinton were sounding the alarm about problems with these institutions.
  • Gavin
I caught "Bush-era policy" but I have to ask you, what do you think the uneducated will "hear" in this statement? This was a crafted remark to tell the truth but still push the blame on one man rather than on policy makers who were in office at the same time.
  • Corruption
How is this guy still in Congress. Barney Frank is the poster child for incompetance and corruption in Congress.
  • more Boortz lies
Barney Frank did not "blame this entire mortgage meltdown on George Bush."

He said "a Bush-era policy to help low-income families become homeowners instead of renters contributed to the sub-prime mortgage crisis and, ultimately, the larger economic crisis now confronting the country."

A Bush-era policy contributed to the sub-prime mortgage crisis which contributed to the larger economic crisis we now face. It's true.

He didn't say anything remotely close to what Boortz claims he said. But I'm guessing most in here will gleefully ignore that small fact....
  • Barney the guilty liar
Ever notice it is always the guilty liars who scream the loudest. Barney reminds me of a 5-year old boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar and blames it on his sister who was in the other room at the time.
  • Doublespeak
    Neal,

You should have put the 1984 cover under Barney's picture. He has mastered doublespeak. Don't be surprised if he has newspapers reprinted to reflect the change in history.
