Is Al Franken on the verge of being sworn in as the new Senator from Minnesota? His lead now is 312 votes out of 2.9 million cast. Incumbent Norm Coleman is going to probably need a court miracle to retain his seat.

You folks in Minnesota are beyond belief. How in the hell could you possibly vote for this footstool to be your Senator? I know this guy. I've seen him in action. I know of no bigger jackass in public life. Al Franken is a world-class purified jerk. You'll soon discover this if he is actually sworn in .. but it will take six years for you to correct your moronic actions.

He's going to be your burden and your embarrassment. Hope that works out for you.

As you can see, I'm really having trouble saying what I truly feel here.

  • I deny my heritage
    of born, educated through college in Minnesota (U of M). Don't see how the people I knew would do this, Franken isn't even funny to me.

    Sen. Daschle didn't seem to connect with the folks in So Dakota, just west of my hometown, either. And the Dakota voters took him out (and Obama got fruity-spectacle wearing Tom's staff and advice to vote 'present' so no record could impede his predidential bid. Thanks for the good advice, Tom, it worked out for the O man. At least the Dakotans take life seriously enough to vote for leadership.

    So, forget about being a Gopher. I'm now from South Dakota. Maybe the French-American heritage explains the repeated weirdness of Minnesota (Ventura, Franken, etc.)

    I love the justification for voting Al Franken into office...'cause Coleman's not a real conservative...ok, so the point is, let's punish Minnesota and the rest of the country by electing this @$$clown? Yeah, and besides, Coleman wasn't any good, anyway. Ok, so why not find a better candidate to run on the ticket? Oh well, I voted for Jimmuh Cahtuh in '76. I thought he was an upgrade. We're all young and dumb once, hopefully only once...nevermind.

    Silly me, I always thought that it was a no-brainer that when you have MORE votes cast than registered voters, it was an indication of Voter Fraud.

    Guess not in the USSA..........

    On the other hand, if they had not had a pathetic candidate like Coleman, none of this would happen.

I guess I am really off because I also thought that politicians were supposed to be smart or wise or something. Guess I'll just have to take a trip to MN to get this all straighted out.

    I can tell you we had a 3rd party bumbler named Dean Barkley that split the vote three ways. However, Coleman even though he has an (R) after his name is NOT a conservative which is why the conservatives largely stayed home. Same as for the Presidential choice..McLAME. So we had a choice between avowed socialists or socialist-lite...no thanks, that's the Fabian plan. I'll wait to vote for a real conservative thank you, like Reagan or Rod Grams (former conservative senator from MN). I know the socialist plan will be a disaster, why do I want the conservative side to have any part of it? Let the Dems own it..and they do and will. Conservatism, REAL conservatism, will be the cure.

    Thanks, Neal. I feel bad enough that this jackass got elected, now you go ahead and smear the 60% of us Minnesotans who didn't vote for him.

    However, it isn't without precedence. We did vote in an ***-clown as governor a few years back. Mea Culpa.

    If Coleman loses, it is not because the voting citizenry of Minnesota thinks so highly of Franken. Our nations former CIC bears a fair amount of the blame. All Franken had to do was remind the half-wits who inhabit the Range and the Metro that Coleman was a Republican/GWB lapdog. Hell, I only voted for Coleman just to keep Franken out, not for love of the Republican Party.

    There's no excuse for us. I pleaded with people not to vote for this imbecile. Co-workers of mine met with him while I met Coleman. This was the Anything-but-a-Republican election and it rang no truer than for this senate matchup. The argument against Coleman by so many was that he's a crook. No proof - just deep pockets for advertising by the DFL (offician party name standing for Dumb F-something Liars I can only assume).
    Seriously, this one makes me strongly consider moving.

    But I'm a Minnesotan. Truth is, folks in this state believe they are on the cutting edge of culture. Yes, my neighbors voted for Jesse. Yes, these same dimwits voted for Franken. It has been a Blue state for generations. Obviously, not getting smarter with each era. The only thing we have going for us, in the political arena, is our Republican Governor. People ask why I sigh so much....gee...I wonder....

    Franken probably got voted for the same reason they needed a runoff in Georgia...people who don't know a thing saw he was in the same party as Obama when they voted, so they voted for him. This discrepancy in the Georgia runoff will show you what happens when people actually vote for the candidate.
