Remember the recent outrage that 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded 183 times? Yeah, turns out it wasn't true.

Jonah Goldberg says that Barack Obama's liberal arrogance will be his undoing. Yeah, right.

Guess who is going to own 55% of Chrysler ... the United Auto Workers union.

Al Gore is trying to convince people that this idea for cap-and-trade is going to save Americans money ... even though that is entirely not the case. Gore is a liar. You haven't figured that out yet?

Obama says that he wants an internal review to figure out what when wrong in the NYC photo op the other day. No review is needed. You just need to remember that this is the very nature of government.

When it comes to his handling of state secrets, Obama has been given a "D" grade by fellow Democrat Russ Feingold.

A recent Rasmussen poll shows that 77% of U.S. voters say that they prefer a free market economy over a government-managed economy. Then why in the hell did so many of these people vote for Barack Obama?

When it comes to this swine flu, guess what is the first country to impose an all-out travel ban to and from Mexico?

It seems the Democrats are living up to Rahm Emanuel's mantra of "never let a good crisis go to waste." Meanwhile, Obama has asked for an additional $1.5 billion to enhance the U.S. response to the swine flu outbreak.

The hog industry is furious over the swine flu because it is killing their sales, even though the flu has nothing to do with eating pork products.

A national flight attendants union wants the FAA to require airlines to develop and implement passenger-screening standards because of the swine flu.

Florida is considering a license plate that says, "Can A Brotha Get A Break."

This has been labeled the worst tattoo ever. I don't know .. I could think of a few fat women with ankle tattoos who could compete. You do know that an ankle tattoo on a fat chick makes her look slimmer, don't you?

One more bit of trivia before we go ... How many people does it take to change every light bulb in Grand Central Terminal?

Just for the heck of it, what happened during President GW Bush's first 100 days?

What others are saying

  • Hey Joyce
Of course he thinks we are the same person. Liberals can't logically think through things. I guess The Fantastic Four is having insecurity issues today.
  • Slip of the lip on Churchills attitude on torture
Try this link on if you want a good read, and a truer sense of Churchill and torture.
    http://www.claremontconservative.com/2009/01/what-would-winston-churchill-do-hackery.html
Also you might want to look into the torture of Kenyans condoned by Churchill by during the Mau Mau rebellion. Apparently Presbo's grandfather was caught up in this; so his remarks concerning Churchill's attitude on torture should have rung a different tune tonight.
  • Goodbye Chevy Goodbye Chrysler
Looks like nothing but Fords in my future. I don't buy from socialists or facists if I can help it.
  • Grand Theft Auto
    Grand Theft Auto
Is it just me or did I just witness a crime committed - and a FELONY at that. The odd thing about this crime was how it came down. As I stood back and watched the thieves move in, the owner simply handed these thugs the keys to his car and stood quietly on the sidewalk as his property was driven out of the driveway. Compounding my confusion was the discovery that the owner never reported the crime. I searched the news for headlines like; "Car Theft Ring Strikes Again", or "Growing Number Of Theft Victims Left Stranded" but found nothing. Then yesterday I came upon the following WorldNetDaily post.........

Under the plan being developed by GM's current chief executive, Fritz Henderson, the United Auto Workers would end up owning 39 percent of the restructured GM, with the UAW agreeing to take common stock instead of cash to pay off half the $20.4 billion that GM owes the UAW workers fund to pay pension and health benefits to retired GM workers, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The plan also calls for the U.S. Treasury to give GM an additional $11.6 billion in bailout loans, on top of the $15.4 billion the government has already given.

In return, the Treasury expects to pick up at least half the ownership of GM, as payment for half the outstanding bailout funds that will total $27 billion by the time the deal is done.
So, when the deal is completed, GM will be 89 percent owned by the government and the union.

The clear losers are the current holders of GM stock and the creditors of GM.
So, if this crime is not a crime and the theft of these automobiles is not a theft, then what is it? Well, it is something more dangerous than random street crime. It is even more terrifying than organized crime. I am afraid it is the beginning of..................

    FASCISM (Webster)
1: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control fascism and brutality.
  • CL or LH?
Do you really think Club-A-Liberal and LiberalHater are the same?

And who says I got rid of him, wink wink!!!

And SMACK on you for you BIG joke!
  • Tatoos
Just a permanent reminderof a temporary in sanity. :)
  • Bush 100
To bad Bush won't be remembered for his first 100 days.

He had a good start but the last 100 (aka TARP 1) kinda spoiled it.
  • uaw
55% for the UAW with bailout money from the gov.? Now it will NEVER fail. Too big for the gov to let it fail AND they need to keep the union vote. Hmmmm...if my money wasn't in there I'd say let the uaw have the company and see how long it lasts. Parasites can't feed off itself for too long.
  • Waterboarding
Too bad they didn't do it 183 times.
  • Swine Flu
    Just a question:
If a Muslim gets the swine flu is he considered unclean and is it a violation of Sharia?
  • An appology is in order
Gavin, I had posted before I realized that you were not the author.

For that I appologize to you.
  • re: waterboarding Hannity
I hear the crickets once again as everyone hopes Sean Hannity's offer to undergo waterboarding will just go away. Your leader said he'd do it. You people should help him be the Great American you all tell him is by donating money to his cause. He wants to be waterboarded. He needs your donations people. Don't let him down.
  • Gavin
Leave me out of it!!! You're a big boy , you can handle it. I got faith in ya.

Sides? There is only one here that I can't stand. I like everyone else! I even agree with ya'll every once in awhile.
  • Calling Volaire Out
Really? Believe that life will be stress free once the Government has complete control of all of your affairs.

Let the government determine what job assignment you are to have for your useful life, let's make it dog scat collector.

Let the Government determine your salary and how far you can advance in both pay and job responsibility.

Let the Government control food availability, you will still be required to stand in line and pay with your wages.

Let the Government determine health services you have access to and when services shall be denied.

Alcoholism and drug use was rampant in Russia, a cheap escape from their reality.

If those people in the Soviet Union lived a wonderful life, why do that?

Oh, and by the way, what Soviet Union?

    That's right...it ended with parestroika!
  • re: Employee Owned Company
No, but I would not be surprised if they bled it till it died and then expected the government to resuscitate it.

Hey, isn't that pretty much the current situation?
  • @ClubLibHater
You sure are desperate to get my attention, son.

Hey everyone, I'm soo cool and original that I used Gavin Volaire as my screen name only I screwed up 'cause I'm an idiot and spelled it Gavun. But don't you guys just looooooove me? Joyce???? Are you watching how awesome I am????? I made fun of someone's screen name again!!!

I know some here like to draw "sides" and name Neal's loyal followers vs. those of us with brains but every time Club-a-Lib-Hater posts, you all must cringe. That loser is one of yours, Hannity fans! LOL.
  • UAW/Chrysler/Fiat
    Dear Fiat,

ARE YOU CRAZY?! This may be a dumber idea than the Benz deal. You guys let our Imperial Federal Gov't talk you into a deal where the UAW has the controlling interest in the business. Were you smoking crack at this meeting? Would you put the the bong and let the air clear? You could have had Chrysler for pennies on the dollar when they shut the doors. Whew! I don't even know how to follow up from this point. Sorry to tell you, but this deal will certainly drag you down.
  • 77% of America
Neal, the reason we voted for Obama is because we believe that the Constitution is obsolete. It's time to embark upon the Communist Manifesto and enjoy the freedom of having our government handle all affairs of our lives so we live stress free. Remember the Soviet Union? Those people lived a wonderful life under government control.
  • CFL Bulbs in Grand Central Terminal
Since CFLs last longer, does that mean that the City of New York can reduce it's six person light bulb changing staff by a couple of employees?
  • waterboard Hannity
Any updates on when great American, Sean Hannity, will raise money for families of our troops by being waterboarded for charity?

I hear Olberman is offering $1,000 for every second he lasts. Easy money, Sean! And taking it from that leftie will twice as nice! Hannity must be dying to set this up.
  • Still Don't Get It?
Boortz asks why people who believe in economic freedom voted for Obama. It shows that he, like so many Republicans (and he is a LINO -- Libertarian in name only), just doesn't get it.

During the last election, the two major parties served us up a choice between a socialist, tax and spend, big government, supporter of unlimited immigration from Mexico and amnesty of illegals and a socialist, tax and spend, big government, supporter of unlimited immigration from Mexico and amnesty of illegals. The two differences between these clowns. The first was that one (the GOP socialist) said that we must stay on the disastrous course charted by the other a socialist, tax and spend, big government, supporter of unlimited immigration from Mexico and amnesty of illegals (George Bush) while the Democrat at least recognized the need to "change". The other was a difference in appearance & style.

As long as the Democrats & Republicans give us candidates with no substantive differences in their positions, they cannot expect that election will be determined by substance. Obama looked & sounded better than McCain. Since their positions were virtually identical, people voted for the better looking of the two.
  • Employee Owned Company
This COULD work, or it could turn badly. It would be in the union's best interest to properly run the company so it makes a profit and save their own jobs and benefits. What else would they do, bleed it till it dies and hope they can get a job at Ford?
  • Let Chrysler die
Could we PLEASE just let Chrysler die? That company should have died 30 years ago, but has been on life support ever since. Let it go, people! We do not need that company!

    Also, isn't "liberal arrogance" redundant?
  • Another "Atlas Shrugged" piece falling into place
In Atlas Shrugged John Galt quit working for a automobile manufacturer because the owners basically went Marxist.

Do you think the unions might do something similar?

And here's a scary point: now any additional government bailouts for Chrysler will go directly to the UAW. How convenient. Coincidence? I think not.
  • cap & trade reducing cost to consumer???
Haven't we learned from our "water management" experience that when consumers are guided to use less, the provider then screams about "lost revenue" and the price goes up???
  • Has the UAW read
and do they all remember the parable of the goose that laid the golden eggs? If so, Chrysler will be in good hands and there is NO conflict of interest. If not, bye-bye Chrysler.
  • Monkeys vs Unions
At least the monkeys would get to eat the bananas. The UAW workers will end up with little, if anything, once their "leaders" have control for a while.
  • UAW + Chrysler
If you think that's bad, apparently they're looking at buying into GM as well in one of the restructuring plans.

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/04/28/uaw-to-get-39-of-gm-obama-administration-50/

The *potential* for this to work is good. I agree with your assessment of the reality of it, however: Madmen running the asylum.
  • Union owned auto companies
You people are not thinking. They own the companies now? Do you think the union will treat the employees any better? The union will show its true colors soon when they suddenly decide the auto company should make money for the union!
  • Well said, Duke
I've been waiting for something like this for quite a while. I figured it was inevitable that at some point a union would actually be put in charge of a company. Chrysler is toast, and somehow the union will still come up with a way to blame it on evil rich Republicans.

John Wayne put it perfectly... like putting monkeys in charge of a banana tree.
  • “Gore is a liar “
Just like the rest of the Statists.

Their ENTIRE Agenda is based on LIES,DOUBLE STANDARDS and DECEPTIONS
  • UAW buys into Chrysler
This conflict of interest is doomed to failure. On one side the UAW's purpose is to increase wage and benefits to their members.
On the other side they will now have to make and maintain Chrysler in the black.

What we have here is an example of monkeys when they are in charge of a banana tree.

It will appear good until all the assets are gone.
  • free market economy
that's why i voted libertarian. i will never vote republican again. no vote for me for the wall street party
