Jamie Dupree covers the swine flu from Washington D.C.

Here is a classic story of a woman who voted for Obama because he was supposed to solve all of her problems ... but now reality has set in, and she isn't too pleased that Obama hasn't shown up at her door to personally pay her electric bill. Gotta love it.

Dianne Feinstein wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal explaining why her Senate committee should be allowed to conduct investigations into CIA interrogation tactics.

Meanwhile, the White House is considering releasing more memos, while Democrats like Patrick Leahy are giddy at the thought of a "truth commission." Loving the Democrats in charge, aren't you?

What does the public think about a "truth commission"? According to Rasmussen, just 28% think the Obama administration should do further investigating of how suspected terrorists were questioned during the Bush years.

Leading up to Obama's 100th day in office, the New York Post has taken the liberty of listing 100 mistakes for his 100 days in office.

Al Sharpton is daring Rudy Giuliani to run for governor of New York against David Patterson.

Attorney General Eric Holder is begging Europe to take our Gitmo detainees. Maybe the administration should have thought about this before deciding to shut it down. Yeah ... like Europe wants those Islamic goons.

Democrat Rep. John Dingell tells Al Gore, "Nobody in this country realizes that cap-and-trade is a tax -- and it's a great big one."

Remember, government education is not about educating your children .. it is all about making sure that the teachers unions maintain their power.

Guess who is going to be the senior advisor to our labor secretary? A woman known as an influential advocate for the card check legislation.

Did Al Gore lie to the Senate committee about how much money he has personally kept from his global warming scam?

How close are we coming to government-backed credit cards? Some are calling them "O-cards" since they would essentially be backed by Barack Obama.

Once the Gargoyle takes the celestial dirt nap ... it looks like he is already grooming his son to take his place. Oh joy.

The King of Jordan says that if the United States doesn't do something soon, there is going to be a war in the Middle East.

Who is going to be the Senator from Minnesota? Looks like we are going to have to wait until June for the state Supreme Court to decide.

I'm glad that somebody has come to the conclusion that Barack Obama is our nation's "hippest" president. Being "hip" is really going to do wonders for our nation and our future.

Everybody panic ... the number of bird strikes is on the rise.

The swine flu is being linked to factory farms?

What others are saying

  • greenwood
I grew up in Greenwood,SC and oddly enough knew several people in local gov't when I lived there. The town has always had an incredibly corrupt local gov't.There have been very few jobs and very few prospects for jobs in that town for as long as I can remember. One could write a book about all the reasons. The point is,the gov't in that town just as the federal gov't and most gov'ts is not there to serve the "people".The gov't is self-serving and is only there to build and keep power.Mrs. Childs is somewhat of an idealist but she really needs to open her eyes to the truth.I left Greenwood in 1990 because there was no real future there, nothing has changed in the ensuing 19 years and I doubt it ever will.Another thing the article doesn't mention, the 13% unemployment rate only includes people still looking for work. Not included are the thousands who just don't bother looking anymore or are not fully employed. The town really is dying and nobody is doing anything significant to change that.

  • Good Lord about the SC town
"Of course it's going to be a lot of white Republicans, and mostly men," Childs says as she walks through the crowd and finds a spot alone at the rear of the plaza. "I want to see this, but I'm keeping my distance."

Yeah well read it and weep sister, you got your messiah, and you'll find out soon enough how much he REALLY cares about the likes of you. While you are struggling to pay of everybody else's bills on your $745 a month as community handout woman, Obama is having Kobe beef at $100 a pound. That's right pound. Do you know what's sadder than a black woman blaming the "white man" for her lot in life? A black woman who can't even tell that a "black man" is sticking it to her even worse.
  • Bird Strikes
Just how meaningful is the statistic,
“wildlife strikes more than quadrupled to 7,666 in 2007 from 1,759 in 1990.”

I found a static that says there were about 27,319 or about 9,971,435 commercial flights in 2005 in the U.S.

According to flightaware.com/live/ there were 42,115 flights in the U.S. in the last 24 hours. Extrapolated to 15,371,975 for the year. That would be an increase in traffic of 154% since 2005.

I found a statistic that there were about 7 million takeoffs and landings in 1990. Over 214% increase in traffic between 1990 and 2008.

    02512857142857140% of strikes to flights - 1990
    04986997441773100% of strikes to flights – 2008

So bird strikes have perhaps doubled in relation to the total number of flights.
  • Greenwood - woman who voted for Obama
“…rally attended by 37 supporters on a rainy day in 2007.” Really, I thought every Obama appearance was attended by 100’s if not thousands of adoring fans/supporters.
“…unofficial protector, activist and psychologist for her home town.” This sounds like the run of the mill Democrats view of what government should be.
What does Evon Hackett's resume say, “I’m 38 and have no more job skills than a 15 years old?” Over drawing her account $121 (I wonder what the total bill was) to make 17 baskets that the Wal-Mart probably sells for $10. WTF - paying retail then marking it up to sell in a depressed area. Clearly a Democrat.

“The strategy nets Hackett $85 in profits, which she uses toward debts of $121 owed to her bank.” And who wrote this article? The $121 the bank “loaned” her is part of her expenses + the overdraft fee; she did not make a profit, she lost money.

“$190 to her Cell Phone Company” - $190 saved if she got rid of it. Maybe change the plan?
“$59 to a warehouse storing her furniture” – Garage Sale!

Get a clue, when the Government takes more, you have less to spend. And get a handle on the difference between a necessity and a nice to have.
  • Greenwood and Feinstein
Did you read the comments on the Greenwood story?! Amazing. I finally gave up, those libs were spewing nothing but obvious talking points there was no dealing with them.

Feinstein needs to be investigated herself, her and her husband.
  • Truth commission
Some one should explain to the left wing loonies that what goes around comes around. Politicians and Judges that swear to up hold the laws of this nation including our Constitution and then immediately go about trying to destroy them and enslave the American citizens could be brought up on charges themselves maybe for Malfeasance in Office and Treason.
  • Muslim extremism spreading in EU?
    http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b120740_joel_maddens_tattoos_land_him_in_no-fly.html

An American celebrity forced by British Airways to cover his religious tattoos (Mary and Jesus) before boarding flight. Veiled Muslim extremism, and nobody will talk about it because it's only news on celebrity websites, where everyone is shocked that there is discrimination, because how can that be anymore, since we have a black president? Hmmmm....the dumb masses are really scary...
  • Fienstine
We need to investigate her husband getting a $50billion contract from TARP money to sell at risk properities.
  • torture
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzjF1gubaBw&feature=related

"But we are not asked to judge the President's character flaws. We are asked to judge whether the President, who swore an oath to faithfully execute his office, deliberately subverted--for whatever purpose--the rule of law," - John McCain arguing for the impeachment of Bill Clinton for perjury in a civil suit, February 1999.

"Anyone who knows what waterboarding is could not be unsure. It is a horrible torture technique used by Pol Pot," - John McCain, October 2007.

"We've got to move on," - John McCain, April 26, 2009, reacting to incontrovertible proof that George W. Bush ordered the waterboarding of a prisoner 183 times, as well as broader treatment that the Red Cross has called "unequivocally torture."

it's time we held the folks who did this to account. no one is above the law.
  • Dianne Feinstein
I'm sorry people, but I don't need to hear another word out of this pigs mouth. She needs to shut the f**k up, go home, and count all the money she has stolen from the American tax payers. Then she can investigate her pig buddy,Al Gore. Maybe they can go to jail together. She's evil, flat out evil. I'm sorry, but I feel better now.
  • Greenwood
I guess Mrs. Childs is finally figuring out where our government is going. She is paying other peoples bills so what happens. Do the people she is helping ever NOT need help any more? No, they will stay dependent on her AND she gets MORE and MORE calls every day from MORE people wanting her to pay their bills too.

Who could have seen that coming?
  • global warming
it's interesting no one's talking about the report out of a Polish Science Institute about "man-made" global warming that names anything but humans for it... It was mentioned on newsmax but that's it. That's one of the biggest science tanks in Europe.

    here's the story:http://www.examiner.com/x-6571-Atlanta-Political-Buzz-Examiner~y2009m4d25-Polish-Science-Institute-challenges-Al-Gores-global-warming-theory
  • Global Warming Warning...

  • Re: Bird Strikes, Now the birds are on strike? Those union thugs are at it again! By James Smith
    LOL!!!
  • No job.. but has a cell phone!
Evon Hackett in Greenwood, no job, no money, but somehow manages to have a $190 cell phone bill. What is it with these people! To cap it off, when she starts speculating about what she'll do if she gets a job, the second thing on her list is to "spoil herself with new sneakers".

    Unbelievable.
  • Greenwood
Why not sell everything in the storage unit, instead of the Easter Basket garbage? Get rid of all of the stuff you don't need, AND save the monthly rental fee. I'm sure there's a lot of stuff in there you aren't using......
  • @Scott RE: People of Greenwood
Scott, I also found it interesting that they were calling their council woman for help and that she was paying bills for them. I also couldn't help but notice the woman who owed $121 to her bank, $59 for her storage unit, and $190 for her cell phone. Her biggest bill is her cell phone. Unbelievable.
  • No jobs in Greenwood?
Then move people!! My goodness if you can't even find a menial job you need to develop some skills other than manual labor. Afterall, the illegals have you all beat on that front. They just stand around Buford Hwy and can somehow find work everyday in Atlanta. They have that market tapped out. The sob story of the Easter baskets was profoundly anti-climatic. You don't make profits selling crafts that you can live on. You need to start mowing lawns, cleaning houses, gutter work, etc.. (MANUAL LABOR). This is what pays.
  • They need Jobs yet the TURNED DOWN a ROAD PROJECT??WTF??
Mrs. Childs knew that her communty needed jobs yet she filed lawsuits to STOP the construction of a new highway?? And Ms. Hackett is almost miffed when she suggests that her community will soon only be inhabited by "rich retired people."???WTF???

A highway and rich retired folk could be the answer to their prayers. Rich retired folk need people to help maintain their lawns, some retired folk need the assistance of in home care givers, rich retired folk a frequent patrons of restaurants especially the A.Y.C.E kind. RIch folk would create a demand for the type of jobs that Ms Hackett is qualified for, yet she can't get past her own wealth envy to see what would be in her best intrests.
  • Bird Strikes
Now the birds are on strike? Those union thugs are at it again!
  • People of Greenwood...
....have been taught well. When they have a problem, who do they call? Not family or friends for help, but their local county administrator. In other words, they call the gub'ment. You would think after Katrina people would have learned not to depend on government for anything. But I guess old habits die hard.
